Chapter 3: Smurfnapped And Missing!

That evening, things were starting to wrap up for the day. But, there were some trains running on the Fat Controller's railway. They were doing the same things, which is carrying goods and passengers. Even though the day is almost over, things were still needed to be done on the Island of Sodor.

At Tidmouth Sheds, Thomas and the other steamies, along with their best friends the Smurfs, were all gathered up. Like last time, they were talking about on how their day was.

/Thomas\: "So, how's everyone's day is going?"

/The other steamies minus Thomas\: "Good."

/Edward\: "But, a certain nuisance wouldn't stop pestering us of wanting to have a chat with my little blue friends."

/Henry\: "Really? That happened to us too."

/Gordon\: "And us."

/James\: "And us."

/Percy\: "And us."

/The rest of the steamies minus the last five and Thomas\: "And all of us as well."

/Edward\: "And we suppose that happened to you too, Thomas?"

/Thomas\: "Yes."

/Dreamy\: "Us Smurfs really just don't want to have a smurf with that unsmurfy Engine!"

/Handy & Willing\: "Uh-huh!"

/Nat & Tracker\: "Agreed!"

/Hefty & Tuffy\: "You smurf it!"

/Grouchy & Vanity\: "Yeah!"

/The rest of the Smurfs\: "And us too!"

/Dreamy\: "Not to mention that he almost ruin our vacation!"

/Smurfette\: "Oh, and you Engines smurfed into our situation!"

/Emily\: "We're sorry, Smurfs."

/Molly\: "Yes, but Diesel just wouldn't stop pestering us."

/Harmony & Jokey\: "Oh, smurf."

/Gordon\: "Oh, the indignity."

/Hefty & Tuffy\: "Oh, the insmurfnity."

/Farmer\: "Smurf my smurfs."

/Toby\: "And bust my buffers."

And everyone went silent for a moment.

/Thomas\: "Well, at least we puffed away from him, and hope that'll make him give up."

/Dreamy\: "Yeah, that's for sure."

And everyone agreed.

/Edward\: "/YAWN\ I should get puffing, I want to go to sleep."

/Toby\: "/YAWN\ I want to sleep too."

/Duck\: "Me too."

/Donald\: "Aye."

/Douglas\: "And us as well."

/Oliver\: "And me."

/Rosie, Billy, & Flora\: "And us also."

/The nine steamies\: "Good night."

/The first half of the Smurfs\: "Nighty-night."

/The other seven steamies\: "Good night."

/The second half of the Smurfs\: "Smurfy dreams."

And with that, the nine steamies, with their little blue friends on board, all chuffed off to their sheds.

/Thomas\: "Good night to you all as well."

/Dreamy\: "And smurfy dreams also."

/The other six steamies\: "Good night, Thomas."

/The rest of the Smurfs\: "And smurfy dreams to you too, Dreamy."

The Smurfs all snuggled into their sleeping bags.

And then, both the Engines and the Smurfs closed their eyes, and went peacefully and pleasantly to sleep.

But though, they all think that nothing can go wrong, they were completely unaware on what was going to happen, in the end of the day.

It was nighttime, and everything on the island went silent. The citizens and visitors on Sodor were all cozied up into their beds. And the Engines, both steamies and diesels, were all snuggled up into their sheds. But except for one.

Just then, an Engine was approaching Tidmouth Sheds. It was Diesel 10. And right behind him, was an opened-top truck coupled to him. The truck was filled with hay. He didn't want the Smurfs to bring their suspicion on what they were feeling. He arrived at the sheds. Diesel 10 put his truck in a siding. And then, he oiled quietly into the turntable.

Diesel 10 could see that the steamies were all fast asleep. But then, he saw something that made his eyes widen.

There on Thomas, was his best friend and partner, Dreamy. It's a Smurf. And it was exactly what Diesel described. Diesel 10 grinned deviously. He oiled closer and quietly to the little blue tank engine. Then, he moved his mechanical claw quietly to grab Dreamy.

But suddenly…

/Dreamy\: "/SNORT\"

/Diesel 10\: "/Gasped in silence\"

/Dreamy\: "/SNORT\"

/Diesel 10\: "/Quietly\ Gheeee."

/Dreamy\: "Haaah-mmmmm. /Snoring\"

/Diesel 10\: "/Quietly\ Phew."

That was close, too close for Diesel 10. So, he tried again. And with that, he successfully grabbed Dreamy. He felt pleased with himself.

Very gently, Diesel 10 placed Dreamy into his opened-top truck with hay.

/Diesel 10\: "/Quietly\ Hmm-hmm-hmm."

Then, he went to the next steamie. And with that, he successfully snatched Nat and Tracker from Henry.

Then Hefty and Tuffy from Gordon.

Grouchy and Vanity from James.

Harmony and Jokey from Percy.

And Smurfette from Emily.

But as Diesel 10 went to Molly, he frowned in disappointment. He can see that there was no Smurf with the mid-size yellow tender engine. He didn't know that Molly was also Smurfette's best friend. But it was no matter to him.

After he succeeded his mission, Diesel 10 quietly coupled up to his truck, and motored off to the next steamie. When he got to Wellsworth Sheds, he snatched Handy and Willing from Edward.

At a shed in Arlesdale End, he snatched Farmer from Toby.

At Arlesburgh Sheds, Clumsy from Duck.

Christopher and Marco from Donald and Douglas.

And Brainy from Oliver.

At Great Waterton Sheds, Slouchy from Flora.

And at Vicarstown Sheds, Sassette from Rosie.

And Snappy from Billy.

Diesel 10 had finished his mission. And with that, he oiled off to the Dieselworks, feeling with pride and triumph.

It was dawn, and the sun was beginning to rise. The citizens and visitors were all waking up to start their new day. And the Engines on the Fat Controller's railway were also waking up to get started on doing their work for the new day. But it would not be a very good morning for some Engines.

At Tidmouth Sheds, the seven steamies were still asleep. But not for long.

/Thomas\: "/YAWN\ Good morning, Dreamy."

But Dreamy didn't reply.

/Thomas\: "Dreamy?"

Thomas looked up to one of his tanks. He could see that Dreamy was not there. He looked to his other tank, and Dreamy was not there also.

/Thomas\: "Odd, where could he be? Hmm, I wonder…"

Thomas turned to his friends. Then he saw something that made him gasp in shock.

/Thomas\: "/GASP\"

He could see that the other Smurfs were not with his friends as well!

Thomas began to panic.

/Thomas\: "Cinders and ashes! /Shouting\ WAKE UP, EVERYONE! /INHALE\ /PEEEEEP!\"

/Henry\: "/GASP\"

/Gordon\: "OH!"

/James\: "AHH!"

/Percy\: "WHA?!"

/Emily\: "/GASP\"

/Molly\: "OH!"

/Gordon\: "OHH, Thomas!"

/James\: "Have you lost your funnel?!"

/Henry\: "What was that for?!"

/Percy\: "What's going on?!"

/Emily\: "Yes!"

/Molly\: "Honestly!"

/Thomas\: "I'm really sorry for that! But you need to know, that our little blue friends are GONE!"

/The other steamies\: "WHAT?!"

As they turned to their fronts, Thomas was right.

/Henry\: "/GASP\ NAT! TRACKER!"

/Gordon\: "HEFTY! TUFFY!"

/James\: "GROUCHY! VANITY!"

/Percy\: "AHH! HARMONY! JOKEY!"

/Emily\: "/GASP\ SMURFETTE!"

/Molly\: "OH DEAR!"

/Henry\: "How could this be?!"

/Gordon\: "They were just with us last night!"

/James\: "They just can't go off without telling us!"

/Percy\: "Oh where could they be?!"

/Emily\: "And we can see that your friend is missing too, Thomas!"

/Molly\: "Yes indeed!"

/Gordon\: "Oh the indignity!"

And Thomas' friends began to panic as well.

Just then, they all heard a lot of frantic whistles and bells. "/Sounds of frantic whistles and bells\"

There approaching the sheds, was Edward, Toby, Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Rosie, Billy, and Flora. And they all looked shocked and panicky also. They all came to a screeching halt. "/Sounds of brakes screeching\"

/Edward\: "HANDY AND WILLING ARE GONE!"

/Toby\: "SO IS FARMER!"

/Duck\: "CLUMSY IS MISSING!"

/Donald\: "AYE, AND CHRISTOPHER!"

/Douglas\: "AND MARCO!"

/Oliver\: "BRAINY HAS VANISHED!"

/Rosie\: "SASSETTE DISAPPEARED!"

/Billy\: "AND SNAPPY!"

/Flora\: "SLOUCHY ALSO!"

/James\: "/GASP\"

/Percy\: "OH NO!"

/Thomas\: "WE KNEW IT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU ALL!"

/Emily\: "WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW?!"

And they all kept on being panicky.

Just then, a little blue car came to the sheds. "/Sound of a car stopping\" It was the Fat Controller. He came out of his car. Then he took a few steps, and he greeted his Engines.

/The Fat Controller\: "Good morning, my really useful Engines. Isn't this a lovely morning?"

/Thomas\: "No, it is not, Sir!"

/The Fat Controller\: "What?!"

/Percy\: "Sir, the Smurfs are missing!"

/The Fat Controller\: "MY GOODNESS! How could this be?!"

/James\: "We don't know, Sir!"

/Emily\: "And we're trying to wonder why!"

/Thomas\: "Sir, we need to go and find them!"

/The Fat Controller\: "You can't do that now! All of you have work to do!"

/The Steamies\: "/Moaning\"

/The Fat Controller\: "Hmm. Oh. However, you can search for them while you all are doing your jobs, and after you finish them as well."

/Thomas\: "Oh thank you, Sir."

/The Fat Controller\: "Anything to make my Engines happy. And spread the news to the others."

And with that, the Fat Controller got into his car, and drove away.

/Thomas\: "Come on, everyone! Let's get chuffing!"

/The rest of the Steamies\: "Right!"

And they all scattered out of their places and begin their search party. As they begin their search, they all hoped that nothing dreadful will happen to the Smurfs. And no matter how long it takes, they will be reunited safe and sound, as soon as possible.
