A/N: I wrote this as a means to encourage someone who is feeling down or perhaps wants to check out of life. I get it, life sucks and we wonder if it's worth the pain. Also, Miku is 13! Yay! And yeah, Miku is the one "narrating".
Hey, I heard you've been going through a hard time. Life is hard, we live wondering if it's all worth it. You may ask yourself, "What is the point of life if we all die? Just to 'live it to the fullest'? It's not enough!" One of my masters, the one who instructed me to write this, would tell you that life is so much more than you think. The concept of life after death may not appeal to you or maybe you've labeled it as a fairy tale. A fool's hope so to speak. But we weren't created on accident, it was on purpose. The company Crypton Future Media created me to not just make money, but to give hope to aspiring musicians. You were made for more-don't be deceived. You aren't worthless, nor are you those negative things others have said about you. Sure, there's always room for improvement, but no one is perfect. We all stumble from time to time, maybe for you it's every day. Perhaps you cry every night, think about taking your own life. Please don't, if the darkness exists, then so does the light.
I'm sorry your heart is broken, if I could take that pain away I would. Your feelings are valid, but they often lie to us. They might tell you to commit a crime, take up a self-destructive habit, or commit suicide when you feel you have lost all hope. You haven't, you are reading this, correct? Then perhaps a part of you that you cannot feel is carrying you through to the other side of this fire. It doesn't want you to die, it wants you to live! You are seeking for something greater than the things you experience because those "things" only leave you emptier than before. Whenever depression takes over, we lose the ability to feel pleasure in the things we once enjoyed. We cop out of social activities to isolate ourselves, but you already knew that, right? You feel as though your heart has flatlined; it cannot feel anything other than pain. Maybe you once wished to bathe in agony, so you purposefully placed yourself in painful situations to stimulate yourself just so you can feel something other than nothing.
Let me be honest, I don't like telling others how to live their lives, but you're here because you want hope, right? You want a hope that doesn't fail like the countless times those false hopes fell short. Maybe now you've already pieced together what my master wishes to say to you? The way this letter is worded may ring a familiar tune, one of which you may despise or perhaps have thought of learning? I get it, a lot of people don't like to hear what my master wants to say. So let me tiptoe through this with you; ask yourself what you have tried to do in order to get well? Have you tried finding a counselor that is willing to help you with this rain cloud that won't seem to go away? Perhaps trying a medication? I understand these questions are bare bones, cliche at best. But these methods do work for some and they might work for you. They won't make your problems disappear, but they will aid you in getting better. Having someone to talk to about your problems-one that is qualified-is a good thing. My master sees one once a month and it helps all the while taking medication.
If none of these things seem to aid you in resolving the core issue, then I have one last method that you may not like. Please understand that I am in no way, shape, or form trying to offend you or force you into something you don't want to do. But let me ask you a question, do you know Jesus? I understand that religion isn't always someone's cup of tea and if it's not yours, then I completely understand. The messages in some may be offensive to you, you may have been taught that this universe was created on accident by some cosmic phenomenon that no one can fully explain. But let me tell you some amazing facts regarding you and the universe; the sun is at a perfect distance away from the earth that if it were to move slightly closer-the earth would burn-or if it were slightly away-the earth would freeze. The air on this planet isn't toxic; all living things can breathe oxygen. If you were placed on a different planet like Mars, you'd suffocate. You may think that your lungs would evolve or adapt to it. If so, then place a baby on Mars and see the end result. On second thought, don't do that. Your body is amazing! Unlike me, you have a brain that processes so many things in a matter of a second. It keeps records of your life if you can recall them as some do fade away. You have a heart that pumps blood throughout your body in a rhythmic fashion, lungs to breathe in oxygen, a digestive system that breaks down nutrients that your body needs, you have eyes to see the world around you (if you are blind then I'm sorry), ears to listen to beautiful sounds (if you are deaf then I'm sorry, and sorry for repeating myself), a nose to smell delicious food along with taste buds to taste them, a voice to communicate with other people, hands to hold someone, and feet to walk. Now tell me, how could any of this happen by a mere accident? Like me, you were planned to live a life full of purpose and hope. I'm sorry if I'm sounding "preachy", but I want to state the facts and the fact is; you are no accident.
I am not your savior, nor is my master, Jesus is. The choice is yours whether or not you believe anything that I have said. I won't throw a fit if you decide to not believe, if you wish to seek help elsewhere that is fine. I hope for the best in your life. But if you don't want to feel happy, then why did you read this in the first place? The whole point of this letter is to help you get back on your feet-to feel alive again. Now that you have finished, it's time for you to take action. Consider the options I have laid before you, and get well soon. I'll wait to hear from you!
Your friend,
Hatsune Miku
P.S My master helped me write this so I apologize if it was a bit out-of-character for me.
A/N: And there you have it! In all seriousness, if you're struggling with mental illness, addiction, and/or suicidal thoughts then consider seeking help from counseling. Call any of the hotlines I have placed below if you feel the need to. Feeling sad and hopeless all the time isn't good for you. It may feel more real to you unlike happiness, but it will dull you emotionally. Not everyone is out to get you, some wish to help you. Remember that!
