Chapter 1: Whichever Way The Salty Air Blows
"We will be docking in Cherrygrove City in three minutes." the captain announced.
May breathed in the salty ocean air.
She was wearing a coral colored shirtdress with black leggings.
She wore a teal colored bandana and coral sneakers.
Her brown hair reached hershoulder blades, still worn in pigtails.
May checked her teal bag.
The only pokemon she brought with her were Blaziken, Squirtle, Eevee, and Bulbasaur.
Beautifly, Skitty, and Munchlax were left at home with Max and her parents.
As soon as the ship docked, May headed to the nearest pokemon center to register for a coordinator pass.
She received her pass and an orange ribbon case.
She looked at her map, "Violet City seems to be the closest contest location.
So she headed toward Route 30.
All of a sudden, May heard a cry, "Dee." She turned around and saw a Ledyba stuck inside a net. A lady with blonde curls picked up the net, "Gotcha." May ran to the Ledybas aid, "Who are you and what are you doing with that Ledyba?" The woman turned around revealing an "R" on her shirt, from Team Rocket. "My name is Domino and Im bringing this Ledyba to the boss." May knew that Team Rocket would harm Ledyba. She took out a pokeball and threw it, "Blaziken, I choose you." Domino jumped back and glared, "Well if it's a battle you want, then a battle you'll get." She sent out Siesmatoad.
"Blaziken use Blaze Kick."
"Siesmatoad, conter with Mud Shot."
Blaziken quickly jumped out of the way and hit Seismatoad with his attack.
Seismatoad fell back and the force of the attack knocked Domino over as well.
Ledyba ripped open the net and flew over to May.
May gave one final command.
"Blaziken use Overheat."
Blaziken used overheat and Ledian used Signal Beam.
The attacks fused together forming an aurora of orange and green.
Domino was blasted off.
May looked at Ledyba and said "are you alright?".
Ledyba nodded; so May returned Blaziken and started toward Violet City.
She felt a small tug on the back of her shirt.
It was Ledyba.
Ledyba gave May's arm a hug.
May realized, "Oh Ledyba, would you like to travel with my on my journey?"
Ledyba nodded and went into battling position.
"Okay Squirtle, I need your help."
Squirtle came out of its pokeball.
"Squirtle use Bubble."
Ledyba dodged it, then used Silver Wind.
"Dodge it, then use Ice Beam!"
Squirtle dodged and then used Ice Beam.
It hit Ledian, Super effective.
Ledian made one more effort using Signal Beam, direct hit.
Squirtle stumbled then used one more Ice Beam.
May threw a pokeball.
It clicked once, twice, and caught Ledyba.
May returned Squirtle and Ledyba and continued on her way.
She heard a familiar voice behind her.
"Aww look how independent little May is."
May grimaced and turned around, coming face to face with Harley, Solidad, and Drew.
Harley walked over to May and said, "Battle me, sugar."
May said, "You're on; Two on two."
Harley threw a pokeball, "Octillery, come to papa darling."
May threw hers, "Ledybe, Take the stage."
Harley sneered, "Where did you get that little weakling?"
May shouted, "Well for your information, I just caught this one."
Harley smirked, "Octillery use Sludge Bomb."
"Ledyba, dodge it."
Ledyba moved out of the way.
"Ledyba use Silver Wind."
Ledyba hit Octillery with Silver Wind.
May and Harley shouted at the same time, "Use Signal Beam."
Both attacks collided together, Octillerys overcoming Ledybas, as it is much stronger.
Ledyba fainted, May called it back to its pokeball.
"Go Bulbasaur."
May's Bulbasaur came out.
Harley smirked, "Octillery use octazooka."
Bulbasaur dodged it.
"Bulbasaur use Solarbeam."
Bulbasaur fired off Solarbeam and Octillery fainted.
"You'll pay for this." Harley growled.
"Go Totodile." Harley sent out his newest pokemon.
May blinked, wondering how Harley got a johto starter pokemon.
"Bulbasaur use Vine Whip." May commanded.
"Totodile use Bite." Harley sneered.
Totodile bit Bulbasaur's vines, causing Bulbasaur to flinch in pain.
"Use Razor Leaf." "Use Water Gun."
Bulbasaurs attack hit Totodile and Totodile fainted.
"Alright Bulbasaur!" May said.
Suddenly Bulbasaur began to glow.
Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur.
"Alright an Ivysaur." May shouted.
Suddenly Ivysaur used Petal Dance and knocked out Totodile.
"Ugh, you little brat." Harley sneered at May.
He picked up Totodile and ran to the Pokemon center.
May returned Ivysaur and headed toward Violet City.
