Hello everyone, its me, ISL. I have unfortunate news that I'm sure you can already guess what it is, and yes, I'm officially discontinuing Confusion.

As evidenced by my lack of updates, I lost all motivation to keep this story going for several reasons. One, I just began to lose interest writing as a whole because back in 2018, I began to roleplay with a friend, which I found to be far more enjoyable than writing this story. As of now, I currently own 2 roleplay accounts on Twitter that I'm active on everyday, and I'm active on Discord a lot too, RPing and talking to friends.

Another reason why I'm discontinuing this story is because as of last year, I've lost complete interest in Sonic as a whole. I simply grew bored of the series after some time, and the drama was another factor to it as well, and I completely left the fandom in May of this year. I left Sonic for the FNAF series which I got back into in April, and currently I'm writing a story on it.

It was truly a fun experience writing this story for everyone though, and the amount of support is unbelievable. Thank you to everyone who supported me through the entire way since the beginning in 2017, I will never forget it.

I want to pass a few personal thank yous to some of the people here.

AvengerPinkKunoichi - You were, and still are, an amazing friend and I love that you supported me and this story since the very beginning. You are without a doubt the best online friend I've ever met, and I look forward to interacting with you everyday on Twitter. Keep being amazing.

SunSera - You were easily the most supportive fan that I remember as I wrote this story, with your amazingly long and detailed reviews which gave me some much needed feedback to improve my writing and the story. You're awesome.

BlueDragonCody - I know you weren't able to support my story due to family reasons, but it was the prior friendship that counted for me. When we first met, I was a simple and stupid 9th grader writing crappy fics, but you still stuck with me and supported me, and now I'm a grown adult who's graduated school. Thank you so much.

And finally I want to give a sense of closure to this story, because I did have the ending and everything all planned out, and it would be criminal if I didn't tell how it would've ended.

Basically, Infinite and Gadget live somewhat peacefully after delivering the virus to Tails, and Infinite later discovered that two of his old squadmates were still alive. He travelled to meet them, where they told their story of how Shadow had killed the whole squad but them and Infinite, which triggered Infinite's memories to come back.

After some crying, Infinite goes into severe depression with only Gadget keeping him company, and during this whole time, Klondyke was hunting them after leaving his country, and he does eventually find Infinite and Gadget, and tries to kill them, but it ended with Klon being crushed to death by a train.

Afterwards, Infinite visits the graves of his squadmates, and when he leaves, the story ends with some telling of the future events a few years after the main story, such as Infinite and Gadget being redeemed and accepted back, Shamar going into civil war, and I did plan on adding a scene of some sort hinting towards a sequel with a new antagonist, but of course, that will never happen.

I lastly want to wish everyone going through this pandemic to stay safe. It was a fun ride, and thank you to everyone who supported this story.
