This is the third installment of my Hero League series. This one will focus on Steven
This fanfic will focus on some of the things I felt were kind of glossed over in the series.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters if I did I would probably not be writing about them for a Fanfiction. Ben 10 and Steven Universe belong to Cartoon Network, Kim Possible, Jake Long and Randy Cunningham belong to Disney, Ladybug and Cat Noir belong to Zagtoon and Danny Phantom belongs to Nickelodeon.

The Tale of Black Diamond
Eons ago when the universe was still young a mysterious being created two gems. One of them was a white diamond and the other was black diamond. Eventually these two gems gained forms becoming the first among their race to exist.
The being left the two gems on their own planet to decide what they would do with their new life.
White Diamond wanted to spread her perfection across the universe while Black Diamond wanted to use the life that they were given to learn more about the universe they lived in.
This put the two gems at odds with each other which eventually resulted in them fighting for the future of the universe.
Being the more powerful of the two, White defeated Black trapping her in a bubble for all eternity.
White went on to create three other diamonds, Yellow, Blue and Pink, and the three of them set off to expand the Gem Empire.
Eons past and the Gem Empire grew in size, destroying countless civilizations across the universe, creating all kinds of new gems.
White's dreams had become a reality but unbeknownst to her Black was watching and planning her revenge.
When Pink Diamond rebelled and became Rose Quartz sparking the first ever Gem War the destruction caused on both sides somehow caused the bubble Black was trapped in to pop freeing her from her prison.
Instead of immediately seeking revenge on White, Black decided to do exactly what she planned to do in the beginning, she disguised herself like a lower level gem and traveled across the universe meeting and learning from multiple races.
Black came realise her people were a blight on the universe and that they needed to be destroyed even if it meant destroying herself in the process.
She traveled across the universe trying to find a way to not only destroy her race but return the life that they took from countless worlds, her travels eventually led her to find an ancient mystic who informed her that she would need two things in order for her dream to be a reality. One was to find a organic being to fuse with and the other was all the diamonds presence.
Black traveled across the universe and found a world on the brink of extinction from Yellow Diamond's army.
A young man named Zane was running through the lifeless roads of his planet after scavenging for food, since the Gem's came on his world, there was very little water and food to go around.
He made back to his home and met his family, "Hey guys." he greeted them with a chipper attitude.
"Zane!" his younger siblings shouted running to their brother.
"Did you find anything?" his father Lokar asked.
"I got some fruit and water." Zane answered pulling out a canteen of water and barely enough fruit for all of them.
"This is all you could get?" Lokar asked surprised.
"I did the best that I could." Zane replied.
"I know you did my son, but its getting worse everyday, ever since those strange visitors arrived it seems like everything is going bad." Lokar replied.
"Maybe its not them father, maybe this is just like the droughts we experienced a few years." Zane replied.
"No, this is different Zane and I fear for our safety." Lokar replied.
"Don't worry Father, I'm sure things will be fine." Zane said trying to reassure Lokar.
Zane didn't know how truly wrong he was, as the months went by the conditions on the planet grew worse, Zane watched his friends and neighbors die while retaining his hopeful light.
He watched his family suffer and tried his best to keep things as normal as possible but with everyday that past, he saw things get darker and darker.
One day while enjoying the little food that they had, their hut was attacked by female looking warriors, "What do you want!" Lokar shouted.
"This is Gem territory now organic, leave or be extinguished." the amethyst soldier ordered.
Lokar went in to try and protect his family but the amethyst guard pulled out her weapon and stabbed Lokar, killing him in the process.
"Father!" Zane shouted running to Lokar's corpse. Soon more Gem soldiers came in and attacked the rest of Zane's family. "No! Stop!" Zane shouted running to the Gems.
One of amethysts grabbed Zane and threw him through the wall the hut knocking him out.
Zane awoke the next morning quickly ran back into the hut, saw the horrific scene of his massacred family waiting for him, and with one heart breaking painful scream Zane shouted, "NO!"
Zane buried his family and just sat in his hut for days in pain watching his planet further change turning into the so called great Gem Empire.
One day a strange cloaked figure approached Zane, "It is a sad sight isn't it."
"Why? Why did this happen?" Zane said in a depressed tone.
"Selfishness, greed, ignorance. Take your pick."
"Who are you anyway?" Zane asked.
The figure removed their cloak and revealed themselves to be Black Diamond.
Zane jumped up in shock and ran behind one of the intact walls of the hut, "You're one of those monsters that did this!"
"I may be a member of their race but I am nothing like them." Black replied.
"Why did your people do this?! We would've gladly shared our world with them." Zane asked.
"White Diamond, the one in charge of everything has deluded herself with the notion that Gems are the greatest race in the universe and need to spread our greatness." Black replied.
"Then why did they do this!?" Zane shouted breaking down in tears.
"They view organics like you as inferior and want to use your planet's resources to spread their empire. They've already done this to countless worlds." Black explained.
"Then what can we do?" Zane asked.
"I have found a way to not only revive all the planets that the Gems have destroyed but also bring back the countless civilisations that were lost." Black explained.
"Then do it!" Zane shouted.
"I can't right now, there's a lot to be done and your on the list." Black replied.
"What do you need from me?" Zane asked.
"I need to fuse with you." Black explained.
"Fuse?" Zane said confused.
"You could say its a way to combine our bodies and minds." Black replied.
"Then let's do it." Zane said eagerly.
"Unfortunately it is not possible for an organic to fuse with a Gem the natural way but I have found an alternative." Black explained.
"What?" Zane asked.
"Before I tell you, are you sure you want to do this because once this is done it is permanent." Black explained.
"I've lost everything I hold dear in this world as far I can see there's nothing to lose." Zane agreed.
"Very well, touch my gem." Black replied. Zane touched the diamond on her forehead. Black began to chant a strange series of words, her eyes began to glow, her body turned into light and she merged with Zane placing her gem on his forehead.
From the merger Zane gained everything Black Diamond had experience, learned, thought and even felt, making her a part of him.
Instantly Zane new what Black's plan was and made his way to commence with the preparations.
After centuries of travel Zane found his way to the planet Earth, he spent millennia preparing for the day he would exact his revenge and get justice against the Gem Race and after the founding of the Hero League he knew his time had come.
Beach City
Steven was driving himself home for an reunion with the Gems, his father and Connie.
He drove into the city and saw how much it had changed even in the short time he was gone. "Guess nothing does stay same." Steven said to himself with a smile.
He made it to his house and found found the Gem, Greg and Connie waiting for him, "Steven!" they all shouted running up to him when he parked.
"Hey guys." Steven greeted hugging his friends and family.
"Hey, buddy." Greg greeted, "Have you gotten taller."
"Maybe." Steven replied hugging his father.
"We've read all about you adventures with the Hero League but you must tell us what were their like." Garnet commented.
"Ya, how is it working with other heroes." Amethyst asked.
"What are the dragons like?" Connie asked excitedly.
"Guys, guys, I'll talk about that all later first let me unpack." Steven replied.
From the top of the Gem temple, Zane was watching the Gems, "Enjoy this time you have Steven Universe, because it will be the last you'll ever have." Zane commented teleporting away.
Bellwood
Ben was in the Plumber base working on a project in the lab as Greymatter, "Ben, you have been here for hours. What are you doing?" Rook asked.
"Don't tell anyone, but I'm making a Quantum Splicer." Ben replied.
"Quantum Splicer?" Rook said confused.
"Basically it is a device that will allow me to create fusion aliens." Ben explained.
"Like Ben 10 000." Rook replied.
"Kinda." Ben replied, "This will be better. Ben 10 000's Biomnitrix was two Omnitrixes that were linked together creating fusions when they were activated at the same time, this device will allow me to do the same thing and more."
"More?" Rook asked.
"Instead of just using two aliens in a fusing, I can use three or four or you get the picture here." Ben explained.
"They must be some draw back to that." Rook commented.
"Unfortunately there is, I haven't found a way around it but when the fusion function is activated the time out function will activate along side it. And the more aliens I put in a particular fusion the faster the time out will be." Ben explained.
"So you would have to use the power sparingly." Rook commented, "What does Azmuth think of this?"
"He's exact words were, 'Do what ever you want but if you break the Omnitrix you're not getting a new one." Ben replied.
"Well how about you take a break, Mr Smoothy." Rook suggested.
"You know what, I could go for a chocolate and carrot smoothy." Ben agreed following Rook out of the base.
From the shadows Zane was watching Ben's moves.
Beach City
After having dinner and telling his friends and family about his adventures while travelling on the road and with the Hero League, Steven walked over to the beach by himself. "What are you doing here by yourself?" Connie asked walking up to him.
"Just taking it all in, I've missed home." Steven replied.
"Well we've missed you." Connie replied.
"Before I was all happily ever after, now I just appreciate what I have in the moment." Steven commented.
"Why so deep all of the sudden." Connie commented.
"Just really happy to be home." Steven replied with a smile.
Bellwood
After having a few weirdly flavoured smoothies with Rook, Ben went back to work at the Plumber base.
When he got to the lab Ben transformed into Brainstorm and went back to working on the Quantum Splicer.
After a while Ben felt like he was being watched, "Is anyone there?" he shouted.
When he got no reply Ben thought he was tired and had been working on the splicer for to long, Ben transformed back and locked the splicer away.
He drove out of the Plumber base but still couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
Ben made it to his house and got a call from a certain bug themed superhero, "Hey Ladybug." Ben greeted.
"Hey Ben." she greeted back.
"So how's it going?" he asked.
"Its good, Cat Noir and I just took down Mr Pigeon for the umtenth time today. What did you do?"
"Just working on a project."
"What kind of project?"
"That's a secret."
"I can keep a secret."
"Sorry, you'll just have to find out when everyone else does." Ben said playfully.
"Fine, are we still on for Friday?" she asked.
"Sure but how about we don't see one of those artsy French films, the last one we saw was boring."
"Fine, I'll let you pick the next one." Ladybug chuckled.
"See ya."
"Bye." Ladybug said ending the call.
Ben heard a sound, "Mom, are you there!" he shouted but got no response. "If this is some kind of prank your messing with the wrong guy!"
Suddenly an energy dagger flew out of know where, Ben noticed it in time and dodged it, "Who's there!?" Ben shouted.
Zane jumped out of the shadows and attacked Ben, Ben dodged him and went in to attack him with a round house kick, Zane caught Ben's leg and threw him into a wall.
Ben got up, "Alright hero time!" he shouted transforming into Shocksquatch.
Zane teleported away and reappeared behind Ben putting him in a full nelson lock, Ben charged himself with electricity blasting Zane off of himself, Ben went in to punch Zane, Zane caught his fist and Ben kicked him back with an electrically charged kick.
"You are as good as they say." Zane commented with a smile.
"You're not so bad yourself." Ben replied.
"As fun as it would be to trade blows with you, I do have a schedule to keep." Zane replied pulling out a black crystal.
Zane threw the crystal and it exploded into a black slime that engulfed Ben, the slime began to dissolve into Ben's body until it was completely gone.
Ben opened his eyes and their color changed to pure black, "It worked, the mighty Ben Tennyson is under my control. Time to get the others." Zane said with a smile.
Beach City
Steven was asleep having nightmares about the past, he saw Black Diamond's silhouette, the argument between White and Black and an image of Zane.
"Ahhh!" Steven screamed waking up.
The Gems quickly ran to him, "Steven, what's wrong!" Pearl shouted concerned.
"I had a nightmare." Steven replied.
"About what?" amethyst asked.
"I saw White Diamond with another Diamond." Steven replied.
"Who, Yellow? Blue?" Pearl asked.
"No, this one was Black." Steven replied.
"Black Diamond?" Garnet said genuinely surprised.
"Do you know her?" Steven asked.
"From the time we emerged there have only been four diamonds." Pearl commented.
"I better ask the diamonds." Steven said going to call the diamonds.
"Hello Steven." Blue Diamond greeted.
"Hey Blue. I wanted to ask you something." Steven greeted back.
"Sure anything." Blue replied.
"Do you know anything about a Black Diamond?" Steven asked.
"No I don't." Blue replied, she turned around and went to ask Yellow Diamond, "Yellow, do you know anything about a Black Diamond?"
"No, I can't say I do." Yellow Diamond replied.
"Maybe White knows, where is she?" Steven asked.
"We don't know she has been out for a while but we'll ask her when she arrives." Blue replied.
"Thanks." Steven said ending the call, "I still can't shake this feeling, Garnet can you share some future insight."
"All I can tell you Steven is be true to yourself and you'll be able to overcome anything." Garnet answered mysteriously.
"Why can't you be more specific?" Amethyst asked.
"Because if I tell you what happens it might not happen." Garnet replied walking away, "And Steven, watch out for that left hook."
"Okay." Steven said confused.
Amity Park
The next day Danny was hanging with Sam and Tucker at the Nasty Burger with a crowd of adoring fans waiting for them to finish, "Will you ever get used to this?" Tucker asked.
"Nope." Danny replied taking a bite of his burger.
"Sometimes I miss the old days when no one knew about you." Sam commented.
"Ya I do too but at least we can kinda enjoy this moment." Danny replied.
Suddenly at that moment all the fans stopped screaming for Danny and went somewhere else. "Why did they stop screaming?" Tucker asked.
"Who cares at least their gone." Sam commented.
"I better check it out, just in case." Danny commented walking out of the restaurant.
He came out and saw the fans crowded around Ben. "Guess the only thing to get a crowd of adoring fans away from one super star is to put a bigger super star in front of them." Tucker commented.
"Please, Danny's way cooler than that Ben guy." Sam commented.
"I need to go see what he came here for." Danny commented.
The fans split up as Danny walked up to Ben, "Hey bro, what are you doing here?" Danny asked. All Ben did was stare at Danny, "Hello!" Danny said waving his hand at Ben's face, "Is anybody there?"
Suddenly Ben punched Danny in the face and sent him to the ground, the crowd looked at Ben in shock, "What gives man!" Danny shouted.
Ben went in and began to attack Danny, Danny did his best to dodge the Omnitrix wielder's attacks but was eventually kicked to the ground, "Alright that's it! I'm going ghost!" Danny shouted transforming into his ghost half.
Danny charged at Ben and tackled him to the ground, "Ben! What's wrong!?" Danny shouted.
Ben transformed into Bigchill and phased through the ground, Danny flew and waited for Ben to reappear. Ben phased through a wall and attacked Danny at his blind spot firing a ice beam at the half ghost boy.
Danny noticed quickly and countered the blast with his own ice beam, the beams collided freezing the area around the heroes, Danny fired an ecto energy beam at Ben, Ben transformed into Chromastone, absorbed and redirected the beam back at Danny sending him crashing to the ground.
Danny fired more ecto energy beams at Ben but the Omnitrix wielder simply stood still absorbing the attacks.
"I need a new plan." Danny said to himself before he turned invisible and disappeared.
Ben looked around for the half ghost. Danny reappeared in front of Ben and gave him two solid shots to the chest that sent him flying to a car, Ben got up and transformed into Rath and charged at Danny, Danny phased through his attack and tackled him into a building, the crowd heard noises coming from inside the building, a green flash occurred and Danny was thrown out of the building.
Ben came out of the building as his alien Armodrillo, Danny charged at him again and tried to possess him but bounced off of his body, "That usually works." Danny commented.
Ben transformed into Echo Echo and created eight clones, realising what Ben was about to do Danny prepared to unleash his ghostly wail.
The to sonic attacks collided with each other and created a powerful shockwave that sent the two heroes back, before Danny could get up two blue tentacles stretched towards him and wrapped themselves around him, "What the!?" Danny said shocked.
Before he could do anything Ben as AmpFibian unleashed a powerful electrical attack on Danny that caused him to scream in pain, pass out and change back into his human form, "Danny!" Sam shouted running to Danny.
Tucker grabbed her before she could get to him, "Let me go Tucker!" Sam shouted.
"Sam, if you go there you might die!" Tucker shouted.
Ben walked up to Danny and threw one of Zane's black crystals at him, engulfing him in the Black slime. Danny woke up and his eyes were pure black.
"Excellent!" Zane shouted teleporting in, "I knew you could do it. Now we have to get the others so my plan can come to fruition."
"What did you do to them!" Sam shouted breaking out of Tuckers hold.
"Don't worry goth girl, I just need to borrow your boyfriend for a few hours don't worry I'll bring him back in one piece." Zane said before teleporting away with the heroes.
"This is bad." Tucker commented.
Egypt
Zane teleported the group to the pyramids, "Bring it out!" Zane ordered Ben.
Ben transformed into Lodestar, and used his magnetic powers to pull a massive platform from underground back to the surface.
"Excellent." Zane commented, "You go and get the others." he ordered Danny throwing black crystals at the half ghost boy.
Danny did as he was ordered and flew off to find the other heroes.
Zane developed a sinister smile, "Time for the great and powerful Diamond Authority to get what's coming to them. Time for Black Diamond to finally come home." Zane said teleporting away with Ben.
New York
Jake was at Lao Shi's tech shop when Danny phased through the walls, "Hey Danny, what are you doing here?" Jake asked.
Danny pulled out one of the crystals and walked towards him.
