Victoria sat staring out of the window on the train, watching the countryside rolling by fields, rivers,
forests and villages whizzing by, the clacking on the wheels on the rain and the soft patting sound of
the rain on the window.
The tears rolled down her face making the ink on the book she was reading blur the letters, she
wished that she was anywhere else in the world she knew that she wouldn't see her friends for at
least four months and she knew she would miss her younger brother Darren more than anything
else in the world. She resented her mother for forcing her to stay at her Aunt's.
Three hours later the train pulled into the station, Victoria buttoned up her coat tucking her
chestnut coloured her into the the hood of her coat. She stepped of the train breathing in the piney
scent of the air she never knew that air could smell so fresh and so sweet it instantly made her feel
safe. She hadn't seen her Aunt since she was ten and vaguely rember her, but as soon as she saw her
Aunt she remembered her, her stern glare, the glasses perched on the end of her noise, her soot
coloured hair which was all ways in a bun on the top of her head and her stiff posture.
"well, I see that you're... Well older" snarled her Aunt Lorraine coldly, "well I don't have time to
waist, hurry up"!. Victoria jogged after her Aunt trying to keep up and by the time they had reached
their destination she was out of breath. Lorraine lived in a three floor house on the outside of the
village, the house itself was ok with winding stair cases and enough room for the two of them to not
cross paths unless necessary, it was situated on the edge of a lush forest abundant with animals,
vegitation and darkness, it gave Victoria chills anytime she looked at it (the good kind of chills
though).
After a few days Victoria was to curious to hold it in any more, she needed to explore the Forest. So
she put on her anorak coat and left the house, she walked down the garden to the fence that divided
the house and forest, then she unhinged the latch with a satisfying *click* rain droplets cascading
from the wooded gate and she stepped into the forest, closing the gate behind her.
The air spelt like pine, fresh earth and bark, the ground was soft and springy, leaves and roots where
scattered about the forest floor and the crisp *snap* of the twigs sent shivers up Victoria's spine.
She walked and walked in blissful happiness, felling at peace with the world, she came across a
glorious river that meanderd through the forest the trickling of the water creating a melodious
sound. Rain drops rippled the surface splashing as they hit the water, Victoria sat at the edge of this
magnificent river and closed her eyes, allowing the rain drops patter down her face and splash on
the coat. After five minutes she had the unnerving feeling that she was being watched, so she slowly
opened her eyes noticing a young man standing across the river staring at her, he looked about 19
with raven black hair and deep blue eyes that reminded her of the sea, he was gorgeous and perfect
in almost every way she studied his face noticing his concerned expression, suddenly their eyes met,
Victoria almost felt like she wasn't ready for them to lock eyes, he gazed at her and she gazed back
but all of a sudden he ran off into the trees leaving Victoria at the edge of the river in bewilderment
of what just happened
