(Back on sodor, Thomas was chuffing into the shunting yards, so he collect his train, But when he arrived, he found Edward there, marshaling a line of trucks.)
Thomas: Hey Edward. I'm surprised to see you here.
Edward: hello thomas. I'm here because Splatter and Dodge need a little help around here with shunting.
Thomas: (looks around) uh, I don't think it's too bad.
CRASH!!!!
Thomas: ok, maybe on second thought, they do need that help.
Edward: (sighs) Tell me about it. anyway, if you're looking for your trucks, they're in siding 3.
Thomas: thanks edward.
(then thomas went over to siding 3 to get his trucks, and as he departed from the yards, he passed by diesel 10's former sidekicks, who were busy arguing on who's fault it was over the derailment of trucks. Later, as Thomas was busy resting in one of the sidings in farquhar, he heard a familiar whistle, which was follow by the sounds of a tired and panting Timothy, coming into the station.)
Thomas: my goodness, timothy. You look exasuted.
Timothy: (panting) I am, brother. by Godred you should have seen it. There were so many passengers, that I have to make multiple trips even with Bertie's help. (pants) And here's the thing, I'm still not done yet.
Thomas: Oh my.
Timothy: Oh my, is right. (pants) goodness, gracious do I long for a rest.
Thomas: (sighs) well, my next train isn't due until 2 hours from now, so if you'll like, I'll deal with your passengers as you rest up and get ready for my next run.
Timothy: sounds like a plan to me. thank you thomas.
thomas: anytime brother.
(then thomas chuffed out of the siding to collect his coaches along with others, so he could do Timothy's work for him. eventually the day turned into night, and the 4 engines arrived home very knackered, and out of breath.)
Thomas: PHEW! what a day!
Timothy: I know. Though i've only been in the farquhar fleet for about a year, this is the busiest, I've ever seen a branchline been.
Toby: Too right. both passengers and goods contracts are rapidly growing.
Percy: (exhales) if, today was exhausting, just imagine tomorrow.
Thomas: oh my. too many passengers.
Timothy: too many goods.
Percy: and we can't continue doing our jobs in trips or we'll be running very late.
Toby: and unfortunately There's only one solution to this whole mess...
Thomas, Timothy, Toby, and Percy: We need another engine.
(Meanwhile, in knapford station, Sir topham hatt was in his office, trying to address to the increasing amount of work on the farquhar branch. however, as he looked through files to see if another engine was availble, he only found previous horrid visitor diesels. the stout gentleman the slapped the sheets of paper on the desk, feeling defeated as the door to his office opened, to reveal the stationmaster.)
Stationmaster: good evening sir. you're working later than usual.
STH: I am, for I'm trying to deal with the ever increasing amount of work on the farquhar branchline, by getting a new engine for the fleet.
Stationmaster: I see. anyway, I'm stopped by to give you this letter that was addressed to you that was placed in my pile by mistake.
STH: (takes letter) thank you. now, have a good evening.
Stationmaster: you too sir.
(then the stationmaster exited the office, leaving Sir topham hatt alone. The stout gentleman then opened the envelope and his eyes widened upon seeing the sheet of paper that was inside.)
STH: this is... (grabs envelope and sees the sender.) well, if I'll be darned. (smiles)
(the next morning at muffle mountain, Lady was asleep in her part of the workshop that belonged to her former caretaker. suddenly, Lady awoke to the sounds of footsteps echoing through the cave passageways. as the steps got louder and louder, Lady wanted to whistle, but due to years of neglect, it was clogged with dust, and so, she couldn't. then suddenly the lights switched on, and lady gasped at who she saw.)
Lady: Lily! Patch! You came back?!
Lily: hello Lady. sorry if we frightened you abit.
Lady: frightened? I was terrified of the footsteps being Boomer's. (sighs) I'm relieved that it was you two.
Patch: Glad to hear it. now, let's get you cleaned and fired up. you're going to have a busy day today.
Lady: Why?
Patch: because you're going to be working on sodor of course!
(Lady's jaw dropped in surprise, she was finally going to be out of the workshop, and on the tracks, doing work like other engines do. As Lily and patch began to clean her up, Lady couldn't help but smile.)
To be continued...
