Judgement Day
Beach City
Connie and Pearl holding Ruby, Sapphire, Spinel and Amethyst's gems brought Jake and Kim into Steven's house.
After Pearl finished patching her up Kim asked, "So are you going to tell us what happened?"
"What is the last thing you remember?" Pearl asked.
"In was at my Grandfather's shop when Danny came in and I don't remember what happened after that." Jake replied.
"And you?" Pearl asked.
"I was at Global Justice when Jake, Danny and Randy busted in and well I don't remember what happened after that either." Kim replied.
"What do you think happened?" Connie asked Pearl.
"Well I'm not sure but they might have been infected with Vlaric Shards." Pearl explained.
"Vlaric Shards?" Kim said confused.
"In the past to make sure the natives of a planet were obedient, Gems created these special shards capable of suppressing the wills of organics." Pearl explained.
"How do we stop it?" Jake asked.
"If you damage the subject enough the black slime like substance that was controlling them will leave the victim." Pearl explained.
"What are we still doing here! Steven's in danger!" Connie shouted.
"Connie, first thing we don't know where they are. Second, Garnet, Amethyst and Spinel are out of commission right now and finally we don't even have a plan!" Pearl exclaimed.
"We can attack him with an army of Gems behind us!" Connie shouted.
"Connie this Zane is powerful enough to defeat a Diamond even if we had all of home world behind us it wouldn't be enough." Pearl explained.
"Then what do we do?" Connie asked.
At that moment the fallen gems except for Spinel began to reform with Ruby and Sapphire immediately fusing into Garnet. "Garnet, I'm glad you're back!" Pearl exclaimed.
"Where's Steven?" Garnet asked.
"He went with that Zane guy." Pearl replied.
"What! We need to get him!" Amethyst shouted running to the warp pad.
"We can't go in blindly." Garnet said grabbing Amethyst.
"What did you have in mind?" Kim asked.
"First we will need to free the Hero League from Zane's control, especially Ben Tennyson he has alien forms that are specifically designed to take out Gems." Garnet explained.
"Leave Ben to me." Kim commented.
"No offense Kim but how are you supposed to stop Ben 10." Jake commented.
"Let's just say on our last adventure I swiped something from the Plumbers." Kim replied.
"What?" Jake asked.
Kim gave him a smirk.
Egypt
The light on the platforms was intensifying, "Soon the time will come for the spell to be spoken!" Zane shouted.
At that moment a portal formed in the sky and Connie riding Lion jumped out of it with the gems with Jake and Kim following.
"They cannot interrupt the spell. Get them!" he ordered Ben.
Ben transformed into Astrodactyle and flew straight for the heroes, Kim went straight for him and he tackled her to the ground. "Sorry Ben but this is for your own good." Kim pulled out the same remote(From the Ben 10 Omniverse episode Catfight)used on Ben when he was hypnotised by his villain Nancy Chan.
She activated the device transforming Ben back into his human form, she then pulled out her gun and shot Ben in the chest.
Ben vomited out the black slime out of his body, then the Omnitrix immediately transformed him into Swampfire and healing himself from the damage, "Did you just shoot me!" Ben shouted.
"Sorry about that it was the only way to free you." Kim replied.
"What's going on anyway?" Ben asked.
"All you need to know is psycho big bad controlling heroes." Kim replied.
"And the only way to free them is to almost kill them, great." Ben replied walking up to the gems, "I'll handle the Hero League, you guys make sure the bad guy doesn't do whatever he wants to do."
"Got it." Garnet replied leaving with the Gems, Connie, Kim and Jake.
The mind controlled heroes walked up to Ben, "This is going to be fun."
Ben transformed into AmpFibian and stretched his tentacles to Randy, Marinette and Adrien, shocking them forcing them to vomit out the black slime and pass out. "So that's what you look like under the mask." he commented looking at Marinette.
Danny flew in and tackled Ben to the ground.
The heroes ran towards Steven and Zane, "I won't let you stop me!" Zane shouted creating an energy barrier around the entire platform.
"Let's form Alexandrite." Garnet suggested.
The Gems did their fusion dance and formed the Gem fusion Alexandrite. "Whoa!" Jake said astonished.
Alexandrite formed Sardonyx's war hammer and began striking the barrier repeatedly.
Ben transformed into Blitzwolfer and blasted Danny off of himself with a sonic howl.
Danny quickly rebounded blasting Ben beck with an ecto energy beam, Ben transformed into Terraspin and unleashed a powerful gust of wind at Danny, Danny went intangible, flew towards Ben and punched him to the ground.
"This is going to take too long, better change my strategy." Ben said to himself. Danny fired a powerful ecto energy beam that hit Ben causing the Omnitrix wielder disappeared in a flash of light.
Danny looked around for the Omnitrix wielder but couldn't find him, unbeknownst to Danny Ben had transformed into his miniature alien Nanomech, Ben shrunk down and went into Danny's ear, "Sorry dude this is going to hurt you a lot more than its going to hurt me." Ben fired Nanomech's bioelectricity beams into Danny's head causing the half ghost boy to grab his head and scream in pain transforming back into his human self vomiting out the black slime.
"What happened why does my head hurt." Danny groaned.
"Sorry dude, had to put you down for a second." Ben commented helping Danny up.
"What's going on? Last thing I remember was you...You attacked me!" Danny shouted getting into battle position.
"Cool down, I was under duress." Ben replied.
"Okay then, what's going on!?" Danny shouted.
"To make long story short, we have another wacko trying to do something bad." Ben replied.
"Fine let's go put this guy down!" Danny shouted transforming into his half ghost self.
Alexandrite was still trying to break through the barrier but her powers were ineffective.
"This isn't working!" Jake shouted.
"Then what are we going to do?" Kim asked.
Suddenly the light on the platforms intensified, "Its time!" Zane shouted, "Great one I use these mystical objects as a humble offering to summon you!"
The mystical objects shot up into the sky and a portal formed revealing a giant old bearded man. "Your offering is accepted, why is it you summoned me?" the old one asked.
"I wish for the reconstitution of all alien races and planets the Gem race destroyed!" Zane shouted.
"For this to be possible I need the progenitors of said race." the old one replied.
"I have them right here, great one!" Zane shouted.
"I see, are all party's willing?" the old one asked.
"The gems are inorganic and have no actual souls so they have no say in the matter." Zane replied.
"I see, and what about you boy?" the old one asked Steven.
"Yes, I'm willing." Steven said sadly.
"Then we shall begin." the old one replied.
The light around the Diamonds began to intensify and Steven began to cry in pain.
At that moment the gems instantly diffused back into their base components even Ruby and Sapphire. "What's going on!" Ruby cried.
"I don't know I can't see the future anymore." Sapphire replied.
The gems bodies began to distort, "Whatever their doing must be messing with you guys." Jake commented.
"That must mean the gems are being drained of their life energy." Connie commented. Connie ran up to the dome, "Steven! Only you can stop this! I know what Zane said must be painful to hear but this isn't the way to fix things!"
"Don't listen to her Steven! This is the only way to make things right." Zane shouted.
"Steven there's a better way to make things right, one that doesn't involve killing your friends! Because that is who you are, you never give up and you always find another way, that's why you were able to change Lapis and Peridot and all the others minds, don't give up and go for the easy way out! " Connie shouted.
Hearing the truth in Connie's words Steven stepped off the platform, "What are you doing!?" Zane shouted.
"Connie's right, this isn't the way to fix things." Steven replied.
The light coming from the platforms vanished and the old one said, "Since not all participants are willing the deal is broken, the mystical objects will be returned and I will return to my back to my dimension."
The old one vanished in a flash of light, the barrier between the heroes and Steven was broken, the mystical objects returned to the centre of platform, and Danny and Ben ran in, "Guess its over." Ben commented.
"The gems and Connie ran up to Steven and hugged him, " I'm sorry I let Zane get in my head." Steven apologized.
"No worries Steven, Zane wasn't wrong about what gems did. That's the whole reason the Crystal Gems were formed." Garnet replied.
At that moment the Diamonds began to reform, "I've been poofed more times today than well ever." Yellow groaned.
"Steven! You're okay!" White greeted.
The Diamonds went towards Steven and embraced him, "We saw everything from our gems, we thought we were done for for a second." Blue commented.
"Now all we have to do is find out what we're going to do with him." Yellow commented looking at Zane.
"Zane is just a man in pain, let's not be to hard on him." Steven said walking up to him.
"You fool, we could have done it. We could have saved trillions of people." Zane said broken down.
"I know that what the gems did was beyond terrible Zane, but they didn't get the choice, they weren't in control and punishing them isn't the way to fix things." Steven replied.
"You know what Universe. That's easy for you to say. All your loved ones are still alive, you weren't forced to watch them die, to watch them suffer, to watch all the hope leave their eyes!" Zane shouted as a dark aura began to form around him. "You don't know the true meaning of suffering Universe! You have no right to tell me my way of doing things is wrong! You expect me to let my family! My people! Go for those filthy rocks!" Zane shouted as his aura began to intensify, "Even if I have to kill them myself I will have justice!" Zane shouted transforming into his dark form, his skin turned black with purple outlines around it, he gained horns on his head and his eyes became red.
"What's happening to him!?" Steven asked.
"Zane's hatred combined with Black Diamond's power has given him a strange new transformation." White replied.
"You're mine Universe!" Zane shouted charging straight for Steven punching him to the ground.
Everyone prepared to join the battle but Steven stopped them shouting, "No! I'll handle this." Steven said standing up.
Everyone respected Steven's choice and stood down, "So you choose to die!" Zane shouted.
Zane charged at Steven again, Steven created a shield and protected himself from Zane's assault, Zane grabbed Steven's leg and threw him into the sky, Zane jumped straight at him and kicked him straight into the Pyramid.
"We need to help him!" Pearl shouted.
"We can't this is Steven's battle." Garnet replied. Steven was punched back into the ground by Zane, "I told him to watch out for that left hook."
Zane fired an energy beam at Steven, Steven defended himself with his shield, "Zane this isn't the way, I know you're hurt but hurting others won't take away your pain!" Steven shouted.
"What would you know about pain!" Zane shouted charging at Steven kicking him in the gut. "You may have had to pay for your mothers sins!" Zane shouted punching Steven into the ground. "But you always had someone to help you through your problems!" he shouted again continuously beating Steven into the ground, "I was alone on a lifeless rock for what seemed like an eternity!" he shouted firing and energy beam at Steven.
Steven formed his bubble around himself protecting himself from the blast.
"You have no right to tell me what will make me feel better!" Zane shouted smashing apart Steven's bubble.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe I could never understand your pain but at least let me try." Steven said getting up extending his hand.
Zane looked at Steven's hand as if he was about to take Stevens offer but did the unthinkable. He reached for Steven's stomach and removed Steven's gem, "Ahh!" Steven cried out in pain.
"Let's see how well you do without your Diamond!" Zane shouted.
"You really shouldn't have done that." Steven commented in a weak state.
Steven's Diamond began to glow first forming into a silhouette of Pink Diamond, then a silhouette of Rose Quartz and finally a silhouette of Steven staying in that form becoming Pink Steven. "What are you supposed to be?" Zane asked.
Pink Steven didn't answer and simply walked over to his human half. "I see what you want. You want him." Zane commented grabbing Human Steven and sucking him into his Gem. "Try get to him now!"
Pink Steven rushed at Zane and gave him a solid punch to the gut which sent Zane flying into the air, Pink Steven jumped up and slammed Zane back to the ground.
"What is that!" Ben asked.
"That's Pink Steven." Garnet answered.
"Pink Steven?" Kim asked.
"Its Steven's gem half, completely devoid of all Steven's humanity, essentially an emotionless being who will stop at nothing to reclaim his humanity." Garnet explained.
Pink Steven rushed at Zane and attacked him at different angles, Zane threw energy daggers at him but he protected himself using his shield, Pink Steven ran up to Zane and gave him a kick to the face that sent him flying into the air, Pink Steven jumped towards him grabbed his legs and threw him back into the ground.
Pink Steven then reached inside Zane's gem and pulled his human half out the two hugged and formed back into regular Steven.
"Guess you're packing a lot more power than I imagined." Zane commented coughing up blood transforming back into his regular self.
"Its over Zane. Please, let's just stop this pointless fighting." Steven pleaded.
"It may seem pointless to you Steven but its not pointless to me." Zane replied getting up, "I may have lost this battle but I will not lose the war. Me and my allies will make sure of it." Zane replied.
"Allies?" Steven said surprised.
"You honestly think I'm the only one." Zane chuckled, "There are thousands of beings like me out there in the universe, Steven. And we all want the same thing. The complete and utter destruction of the Gems. So enjoy this victory for now Universe, there are other ways to crack an egg." Zane explained teleporting away.
The heroes and the Gems ran up to Steven, "Steven! Are you okay?" Connie asked.
"Ya, I'm fine." Steven replied.
"Is it over?" Connie asked.
"No. I think its just beginning." Steven replied.
Beach City
The heroes and the Gems went back to Steven's house to discuss their next moves.
Marinette was sleeping in Steven's room. When she woke up she was greeted by Ben, "Hey Sleeping Beauty."
"Ben where am I...wait I'm not Ladybug right now! You can't see me like this! Cat Noir can't see me like this! What am I going to do!"
"Relax Ladybug, to keep your identities a secret we made sure the you, the Ninja and Cat Noir were in separate rooms. Their getting the same talk from Kim and Danny." Ben commented.
Marinette calmed herself down and asked, "How many people know?"
"Me, Kim, Jake, Steven and the Gems." Ben replied.
"Gems?" Marinette asked.
"I'll explain all later." Ben replied before smirking, "So this is what you look like under the costume."
"Ya, I guess." Marinette said embarrassed.
"So now that I've seen your face, guess you can tell me your name."
"I'm Marinette." Marinette said with a smile.
"Good to finally meet you." Ben smirked.
A little bit later Marinette changed back into Ladybug and met up with the Hero League, Crystal Gems and the Diamonds.
"So what's our next move?" Kim asked.
"Nothing." Ben replied.
"What! We can't just do nothing!" Amethyst shouted.
"Ben's right." Steven agreed, "We don't know where he went, so right now there's nothing we can do."
"There is something we can do right now." White said in a depressed tone.
"What?" Steven asked.
"I need to turn myself in." White replied.
"What!" everyone said in shock.
"White, what are you talking about?" Yellow asked.
"I need to pay for my sins Yellow. I've hurt so many people; Black, you, Blue, Pink, Steven, every gem in the universe, not to mention all the races that have been destroyed or brought to the brink of extinction, all because of me and my actions!" White explained.
"If you get punished then so should I. I'm the one who conquered all those worlds." Yellow cried.
"All because you wanted to please me Yellow. I made everyone miserable because of my misguided view perfection and I need to pay for it." White said saddened.
"What would we do without you?" Blue asked.
"Anything you want, because the both of you are so strong." White replied.
"Why does it have to be just you?" Yellow asked.
"Because Yellow, none of this senseless destruction would have happened if I wasn't so selfish." White replied.
"Are you sure about this?" Steven asked concerned.
"No, but I do know this is the right thing to do." White replied. She then turned to Ben, "Alright Mr Tennyson, take me in."
Ben sighed and read White Diamond her rights, "White Diamond, you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you, you have the right to an attorney and if you can't afford one, one will be appointed to you in the court of law. Do you understand your rights?" Ben asked.
"Yes I do." White replied.
Ben threw energy cuffs on the Diamond, "Grandpa Max, I have a criminal in custody commence with teleportation." Ben and White disappeared in a flash of light.
"So what now?" Cat Noir asked.
"We need to prepare. Zane will be back." Steven said in a serious tone, "We also have to find a way to make things right with the aliens the Gems have hurt."
"We'll get right on that." Yellow said with a determined voice.
"Its time we take responsibility for what we've done." Blue said with a serious voice.
"I'll come with you." Steven commented.
"No Steven." Blue replied.
"This is our mess to clean up, you've done more than enough." Yellow explained.
"Are you sure?" Steven asked.
"Yes, just keep doing the good you've been doing here." Blue replied.
Steven looked at the Hero League and the Crystal Gem, "I sure will." Steven said with a smile.
Unknown Planet
Zane teleported in and dragged himself inside a building where he met a mysterious woman, "I'm sorry Lara. I failed." he groaned collapsing to the ground.
"No worries my love." she said resting Zane's head on her lap.
"It all would've worked if it wasn't for Steven Universe." Zane groaned.
"I thought he would've been a problem. But that was only one battle Zane, and we're all here to fight a war." Lara said standing up showing Zane the massive army they had, "And we don't plan on losing."
Well that's it I hoped you liked it.
The reason I did this story is because unlike everyone else Steven lacks any serious antagonist, so I created Zane so Steven can have an enemy in the future.
