"And that's the grand tour Dr. Peterson" Kim says as she comes around the corner as a woman with light brown hair follows behind her with Karen following as the women stops as she sees TC standing at the nurses station talking to Chris
"Who is that?" ask as Kim and Karen catch her glance "Oh that's Dr. Callahan, or known to us as Uncle TC" Karen says as gives her a look "He was our dad's best friend before he passed away and he's also our godfather"
"And he delivered me" Kim says as she looks at her "And that's his son Chris, he's a paramedic for the hospital" right then there is a page for comes over the over head
"Well thank you for the tour ladies" says to Kim and Karen before she hurries off down the hall
"Did you see the way that she looked at Uncle TC?" Karen says as she looks at Kim
"Yea but he hasn't really dated any since Aunt Jordan passed away" Kim says as she looks at her
"But it's been years" Karen says as she looks at Kim "maybe it's time for him to get back out there"
"It's not that easy when you've had a loss like him and mom have" Kim says looking at her "remember how long it took mom to start dating again after dad was killed, it years too" she finishes as Chris and TC part ways as Chris walks over to them
"What are you two whispering about?" Chris says as he comes over
"We think someone has a crush on your dad" Kim says as Chris gives them a look
"Who?" Chris says he looks at them
"Dr. Peterson" Karen says as she looks at him "Oh the new doctor that just started" Chris says to them "she seems pretty nice" he says as they both give him a look "But I don't think dad is ready for another relationship"
Later that night Chris and TC are sitting in the cafeteria as walks over to the table "do you mind if I join you?" She says walking up to the table as TC and Chris look at her "Sure but I better be getting back to it" Chris says excusing himself "I'll see you later dad" he says getting up " " he nods as he hurries away looking back over his shoulder as he goes
"Well that was suttle, seems like something my son would do" says as she sits down as TC looks at her
"How many kids do you have?" TC says as he looks at her
"I have three, two girls and a boy" She says smiling at him
"I have three too, two boys and one girl" TC says looking at her "But I can imagine with two girls your husband must be driven crazy"
"Oh he would have" says as she continues to look at him "except he was killed in a car accident years ago when the kids were still little" she says noticing an expression forming on TC's face "How long has your wife been gone?"
"Right to the tough stuff" TC says as he looks at her
"I'm sorry" says looking at him "It's just when you are a parent that lost their husband or wife you tend to be able to pick out others too"
"It's been almost 16 years, she passed away after our youngest son Alex was born from complications" TC says as he takes a breath looking at her "Our oldest son who you just saw run off was 9 and our daughter Elizabeth was about to turn 6"
"It's been 17 for me" says as she looks at him "Our twins Adam and Allison were 7, and our youngest daughter Grace was almost 3" she says continuing
" Wow if any of ours had been twins I really would have gone crazy" TC says looking at her as they fall into silence again
"It doesn't ever seem to get any easier" says as she looks at him
"It really doesn't" TC says as he looks at her "Well , I'm going to go get some more drink is there anything that I can get for you while I'm going"
"Just call me Sara, " she says looking at him
"TC" he says before getting up taking his and her drink cups as Sara turns around to watch him as he goes letting out a grin
Later the next day Lauren and Kate are sitting on stools in the kitchen as Liz is stirring a pot "Okay so how does it look now" Liz says as she brings over the pot to the girls
"Do you want the truth or a lie?" Kate says as they look at her
"Oh come on I'm really trying" Liz says as she continues to look at them
"Liz your my sister and I love you" Lauren says as she looks over into the pot "But cooking is not your thing"
"I'm meeting David's grandma for the first time" Liz says crossing her arms
"So your plan is to poison her" Chris says as he comes over to the kitchen looking at what she made as Liz gives him a look as TC comes down the stairs wearing a pair of shorts and a tee shirt
"It's amazing how I worked last night and got in at 7 and I just now woke up at 1:30 in the afternoon" he says looking at the group in the kitchen "And I still woke up before Alex"
"I think it's called being a teenager" Chris says looking at him
"So what's going on down here?" TC says walking over to the kitchen to join the kids
"Liz is cooking" Kate says as she turns around to look at him
"Well on second thought I might could use a couple more hours of sleep" TC says starting to back away
"Daddy!" Liz says as she looks at him
"I'm sorry sweetie" TC says as he walks over giving Liz a hug "That's was wrong of me to say" he says before looking in the pot "It's just you got your mom's cooking skills, or lack there of" he says continuing "There's a reason when we were dating we mostly ate in the hospital cafeteria" he finishes as Annie comes through the back door
"Aunt Annie do you think I'm a bad cook" Liz says turning around look at her
"Is that a trick question?" Annie says looking at her
"Look remember the other Thanksgiving when Aunt Janet was sick and I had to cook the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner" Liz says looking at them "I didn't think it turned out that bad"
"Liz it was dry" Lauren says as she looks at her
"Aunt Janet's have been a little dry some years too" Liz says looking at her
"Yea but her's has never been bone dry" Chris says as he puts his hands on Lauren's shoulders as he look's at her "We put the knife in and it split open on its own"
"Look Lizzy Bug" TC says looking at her "We'll see if it can be salvaged and try to help out" he says as Alex comes down the stairs "Well look who finally decided to wake up"
"Yea and I'm hungry" Alex says as he pulls a spoon out of the drawer "And something smells great" he says going over to the pot
"Alex don't" Chris says as Alex reaches the spoon in grabbing a scoop of food as everyone else watches as he takes the bite before his face turns sour
"Liz cooked this didn't she" Alex says as everybody nods yes as he continues to make a face
"So I wonder how Sara's cooking skills are" Chris says making a suggestive hint as TC gives him a look
"Who's Sara?" Liz says as they all turn around to look at TC
"She's a new doctor at the hospital" Chris says looking at Liz "Who has a thing for dad"
"It's not a thing" TC says as he looks at them "We're just friends"
"It looked like you had a pretty good friendship going last night" Chris says looking at him
"So are you going to go out with her sometime" Liz says noticing the look on his face "We're planning on going out for a while on Saturday night but it's not a date" TC says as they all look at him "It's not" he says as he walks out of the kitchen as Janet comes in the front door
"I heard from Kim and Karen you have a hot date on Saturday night" Janet says as TC gives her a look before going up the stairs "What did I say?"
"I'll go talk to him" Liz says excusing herself as she goes up the stairs after TC
