(Meanwhile, at Knapford station, Edward and Gordon were awaiting for their respective trains, with Mr Conductor and Junior to see them off. Suddenly a loud and familiar whistle was heard in the distance, and then Thomas darted around the bend and then screeched to a halt as he stopped at the track right next to Gordon. The E2 was red in the face and panting as he looked toward the two Conductors.)
Thomas: Mr Conductor!...
Mr C: (turns around and sees Thomas) Thomas, why aren't you shunting with Lady?!
Thomas: Because... (pants) She left.
Mr C: To where?
Thomas: To the... (pants) Other... (pants) Railway.
Mr C: (widens eyes in shock) What?! Why would she...
Thomas: Because she wanted to go and rescue the other engines of the NWR that were kidnapped.
Mr C: Argh! Does she not realise how stupid that is?! Yes, she may have magic, but she can't just simply roll on to the other railway at will for she'll get scrapped!
Junior: Cuz. I think that you're missing the point here... Lady heading to the other railway and well...
Mr C: (facepalms) Diesel 10 would be ready and waiting for her, intending to destroy her once and for all.
Junior: Yes, that, but also, that we NEED to stop her, bring her and the others back to sodor, before the worst happens.
(Mr Conductor then sighed. Though Junior was a troublemaker at times, he had grown to be very mature and serious when a dire matter shows itself. As the two Conductors then paced about the platform, trying to think up an idea, Edward spoke up.)
Edward: Um, sirs.
Mr C: Yes Edward?
Edward: Um... This might be the stupidest idea I could suggest, but since we're dealing with an engine rescue being needed, I'd suggest that we have a group of engines go and follow her.
Mr C: Yeah, but who would go?
Edward: Well, I certainly would. I would NEVER want to leave any of my friends to rust.
Mr C: Ok, that's one.
Gordon: I may not always get along with the smaller engines, but to leave them stuck away from home and to not do anything when my strength and speed could prove useful, would be disgraceful. So count me in.
Junior: So, that's two.
Thomas: (exhales) Conductors, I feel like that I should've done more to stop Lady. Yes, I know that it's right to let others decide for themselves, but, with my Brother stuck on the other railway, and Lady on a fool's run there, that's going to be both of the engines I care for most taken away from me. As one of the last E2's I can NOT stand idle and do nothing while those most dear to me are in pearl. Let me come as well!
Mr C: So that's three, and we should have enough, but that leaves with how will we get in.
(then as everyone pondered on the matter D261 rolled in. He had overheard Mr Conductor and wanted to make up for his crimes. He then looked over and spoke to them.)
Bowler: If you lot would let me join your group, I can fool the other diesels there if I make it seem like that I'm hauling in another line of captives. Then while they are thinking you are all that, you can catch them by surprise.
Mr C: hmm. That is a great plan.
Gordon: Yes indeed, but how will WE know that you're not just trying to scrap us?
Bowler: Because as you guys said, if the Lost Engine is destroyed, we're all destroyed. Besides, all I ever wanted was to be useful and I now realize that I was only being the opposite as D199 and I were kidnapping your friends.
(as D261's words flew into their smokeboxes, the steam engines can tell that the diesel had some remorse and regret for what he did and nodded to one another as they then looked back at him.)
Edward: We'll trust you.
Bowler: Thank you. I promise that I won't let any of you down.
(As the engines then smiled, they all then got ready to make the cattle cabe to the other railway.) (Meanwhile, on the other railway, Timothy groaned as he opened his eyes and took in his surroundings. As he looked around the silver E2 spotted Duck who was next to him.)
Timothy: DUCK!
Duck: (wakes up) Dah! Oh, oh, Timothy. (as he looks around) Wait... Those sounds, of machinery, those piles of dead engines... Oh dear... oh dear... OH DEAR! WE'RE GOING TO DIE! Oh no!
Timothy: (during Duck's breakdown.) Duck!
Duck: Oh no.. Oh no...
Timothy: Duck!
Duck: Oh no... Oh no... Oh...
Timothy: DUCK ENOUGH WITH THE QUACKING YOU GREEN COLORED GITT!
Duck: uh... Right. I'll shut up.
(As Duck then sighed Timothy looked over and spotted a few familiar faces.)
Timothy: Percy, Bill, Ben! There you guys are!
Percy: Yeah. and the less said the better. No matter if they're working in their quarry on ed's branch, or laying on the ground here, these two never stop complaining.
Timothy: I see. So, any idea why they haven't melted us down yet?
Percy: Oh it's more than an idea Timothy. Right now we're the "bait" which is supposed to lure Lady here. Once she's here in this yard, well it's nighty-night for EVERY talking vehicle.
Timothy: I see. I guess the breadloaf has actually thought it out this time.
Percy: Yes. And I hope that she DOESN'T fall for it.
(As Percy and Timothy then continued to converse, Lady arrived just miles outside of the yard that her friends were at. As she then took a deep breath, she began to think back to Thomas's plea for her to reconsider.)
Lady: I'm sorry Thomas, but I can't let our friends suffer due to our failures to act. I must save them, if we're to have any hope.
(as Lady then shedded a tear, she then looked ahead of her and began her journey once more.)
To be continued...
