So for any of you confused, this is a rewrite of chapter one. That is what I posted, alongside chapter fifteen. So don't freak out.

But, I'm back and ready to get back to posting on this story! Who is excited? I am! Shout outs to new readers, followers, etc are in

chapter fifteen, but for now, enjoy the rewrite.

Boredom. That was all Bryce felt as he sat there in his father's class trying to stay focused. He loved his Dad, he truly did, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't bring himself to care about this. He'd already heard it a million times at home.

"Dimensional jumping is a huge piece of our society today. It's what allows us to gather new and untapped resources, advance our own technological developments, and increase our economy by expanding our trading partners. On top of that, as one gets more advanced in the technique, you can reach the point of being able to jump in and out of a particular dimension to avoid deadly or dangerous attacks, though such should be done sparingly."

Many students took notes frantically, all scattered about the auditorium-like classroom, trying to absorb every bit of information as they could. Some were whispering amongst themselves, excited about the concept. Bryce rolled his eyes. They were freaking out over nothing. They weren't going to learn how to Dimension jump yet. That was for the third years. Bryce looked to his dad, seeing his father's green eyes shine. His dad was thinking the same thing, and was more amused by it than Bryce was. Though that wasn't surprising, he was often called his father, Zach Anderson's, clone. Besides minor differences, they were pretty alike physically. Both green eyes, dirty blonde hair, athletic builds, so on and so forth. Bryce got sick of hearing it after a while.

"However, as you know, these different universes are all ruled by different deities. These deities have all created different energies and laws to govern and power their world. If we were to invade and bring our vastly different and powerful abilities into this new dimension, they would strike back and harm us and those we were interacting with. So, as a result, it's often best to form our own creation and destruction energy into something more fitting of the world we are in."

"Scuse me sir." A student near the back, Paelias if Bryce remembered correctly, "Are there any advantages to doing so. If they were going to attack us, wouldn't it make sense to keep using our own powers?"

"Good question Paelias." Aha, he was right. "Simply put, we are more likely to be safe in a Universe if our power matches theirs, as it will throw off the balance and laws the Deity has put forth less, and is significantly less likely to draw their ire and cause them to attack us. Another reason is that many times, their powers contain secret abilities that could aid us greatly."

"How could changing to a power weaker than our own be safe for us," another student, a female student closer towards the middle of the classroom asked.

"Another good question Rukia. The answer is Anti-creati or Anti-Destri poison." Many students quieted at the mention of the poison that had undoubtedly hurt, or on some sorrowful occasions, killed their family members. "Those poisons, while amazingly rare, expensive, and slow to make, aren't used commonly in warfare, but are present enough to be a worry. By removing what that deadly poison feeds off of, it can severely increase the likelihood of survival."

"Now some other energies are more proficient in doing specific things, even if their power is significantly less potent. A great example of this Universe B12, otherwise known as Asfaelia. Their use of magic and it's all encompassing powers are a great resource to gain ideas or inspiration from when learning to use your own power. It does help that their power, while more limited in its abundance, matches and in rare cases, dwarfs our own."

Zach walked around his desk to lean against the front of it. "Now, with the usefulness of such an idea, it doesn't come easy. You're changing a fundamental piece of yourselves. So today, we're going to begin practicing."

Bryce sighed as his dad, rather dramatically, pressed a button and a large, glass cylinder rose from underneath the desk in front of everyone, containing a black sword with swirling black energy surrounding it.

"This is an Asauchi, from the world of E104, or as some more interesting people have called it, Bleach. We'll be trying to form your powers to match it."

There was a buzz in the classroom as the students got excited. Bryce just groaned. He'd done this a million times. It really wasn't as hard as his dad made it out to be. Sure, it took some practice, but fairly quickly, when you got the idea, it became super simple and easy. A robotic voice then spoke into his mind.

"You have years of advantage on these people, Bryce. Do not start comparing them to where you are."

'It's really hard not to, Alpha.' Bryce responded. 'I'm so used to this all being so simple. Even Ellie can do this without a large amount of effort.'

"And you live with someone who is determined to teach you how to do so at a young age. If all these students had had that same opportunity, I'm sure many of them would be able to do the same thing."

Bryce conceded that point. There were many reasons he was given Alpha as a combat partner, and his calm intelligence was one of them. Bryce's emotions always seemed to step in the way of such thinking.

"Bryce?" Coming out of his thoughts, Bryce looked to his dad who seemed to be waiting for them. "Being my son earns you no special treatment. I would appreciate it if you would participate in class."

Bryce felt a tinge of irritation at his dad calling him out, especially with what he said. He did participate in class fairly often. That comment was totally unjustified. Rather than verbally respond, Bryce focused on the energy flowing from the Asauchi for a moment before quickly shifting the majority of his energy into 'spiritual energy.' The class noticed the change in Bryce's and many gasps spread across the room, lots of the students whispering and talking amongst themselves in shock. Zach sighed before looking at his son.

"I believe that was a step too far."

Bryce winced as he realized Alpha was right. He'd acted without thinking. Again.

"Thank you for contributing." Zach said, dryly. "In the future, I would prefer your participation not be done with a sense of spite and haughtiness. If you're done, it would be good for you to assist the other students."

Bryce knew what he'd done wrong. And both the comment from Alpha and the one from his father helped let his more intelligent side catch up. Grinning sheepishly, Bryce said, "Will do. Sorry about that, sir."

Zach smiled, and the two of them began going around the classroom helping Bryce's peers grasp the concept.

"Sigma!" Bryce faltered as he walked down one of the many hallways in Epilara Academy toward the cafeteria. Grimacing, he turned to see a shorter, brown haired figure dressed in the standard purple and blue academy uniform running his direction. Bryce grabbed said offender before they could say anything once they drew close enough.

"That's enough out of you, Miles. Are you seriously trying to get that spread across the school?"

Grinning, Miles pushed up his glasses and a mischievous look entered his brown eyes. "And what if I am? It fits, especially after the incident."

"I already get enough crap about it from Bailey, Natalie, and you. I'm not looking to add more people to that list."

"Aw," a female voice said from behind the two of them as a hand rested on his shoulder. "Can the most gifted student in class not take a bit of teasing. Such a shame."

Bryce groaned before turning to look at the beautiful figure of his girlfriend, Natalie. Her Black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, her blue eyes glowing slightly. The jacket to her uniform was hanging around her waist, with her royal blue T-shirt on in its place. She looked teasingly at Bryce as he tried to be angry with her before she kissed him.

"You are so lucky I love you." Bryce sighed before giving her a quick kiss back.

"Oh, I know," she smiled. "And I take full advantage of it." Miles grinned as she leaned into Bryce, causing Bryce to let go of Miles to wrap an arm around her and side hug her.

"That you do. And we are all appreciative of it."

"No comments from you." Miles yelped as he felt something solid hit him in the back of the head. Turning, it was obvious it had been Bryce's hand as he put it back in his pocket, grinning. Natalie was trying not to laugh next to him. Miles could only stare at the two with an unamused look on his face.

"Real mature, Bryce. Real mature."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"I'm sure you don't, Sigma." Bryce and Miles stared each other down for nearly a full minute before laughing heartily. Natalie simply rolled her eyes at the interaction before grabbing the two.

"C'mon guys, I'm sure Bailey's waiting for us. As usual."

Before they could continue much further, they all stopped when they heard a cough from behind them. Turning, they saw Zach standing there, smiling.

"Bryce, I know this is your break period, but I was hoping to steal you from your friends for a little while. You willing to do that?"

Bryce hesitated for a moment, before glancing at Natalie, who just nodded to him smiling, and said "Sure. I can do that."

"Thanks son. I'll see you two next period." Zach said as he and Bryce walked back towards his classroom. "And for the love of Archon, please don't flaunt what you've learned from me like a show horse. I'll already receive enough flak from the rest of the staff about it for Bryce's display."

Bryce scoffed as Miles and Natalie laughed as they waved goodbye and continued walking towards the Cafeteria. Bryce glared at his father.

"Love you, son."

"This better be worth that comment, dad."

"Oh, I believe it is. How do you feel about doing your first dimension jump?" Bryce's mind came to a crashing halt as he looked up at his dad in shock. Seeing his father's grin, Bryce stumbled over his next words.

"Are you serious?"

"One-hundred percent. The council approved it this morning. As long as we keep it in the classroom for now and keep it private, you are free to begin practicing."

Bryce looked at his father in silent awe before saying anything. "Dad, you are the best."

"Did it take you this long to realize that? I guess I haven't taught you as well as I thought I had."

Bryce snorted as they entered his Dad's classroom.

"That's it Bryce, keep your focus. Don't give in yet." Zach called out encouragingly as he stood behind his desk, overlooking the current nearby and open dimensions. He was watching carefully to make sure none of the dimensions that his son's signature was attracting were dangerous. Each individual found a certain proficiency in jumping to certain dimensions, and it was unique for each person who tried it. As such, one had to be careful which ones one connected to, otherwise their Dimensional weight may be too high, and be inescapable.

Bryce didn't verbally respond, instead, he kept focusing on trying to find the one that called out to him. But nothing felt right. None of their signatures responded to his energy. He'd been at it for the past hour, and while he didn't expect to be good at this or become good at this quickly, this was beyond frustrating. He had made zero progress, none, zip. He began delving for something more, and started looking harder.

Zach smiled at the look on Bryce's face. His war torn life and prodigy levels of ability to learn had led to him grasping and gaining proficiency, even mastery, in many techniques most of the students in Epilara academy were only just learning. But this was one technique everyone always started on equal footing. No natural proficiency benefited them here. After all, they were dealing with deities from other universes, they respected no one's proficiency. Only the tune of their signature.

Zach looked down at the sight of flashing red. A dangerously heavy portal was approaching them rapidly. Zach recognized it as one of the more recent discoveries from the department, and it was a terrifying one. The dimension's weight had been the second largest ever recorded. But in all their research, it never stayed anywhere long enough for anyone to allow for a connection. Why was it-

"Bryce! You need to stop searching right now." Zach's voice betrayed his panic as he realized one thing. It had attuned with Bryce. It was responding to his signature. And if Bryce connected to it…

Bryce didn't hear his father's warning. He only felt a calm, welcoming tune begin to play throughout his mind, and he naturally began to let himself gravitate towards it.

"Bryce, no! Don't move towards that one!"

Bryce heard his father's warning too late. As he opened his eyes, finally registering what his father had said, a black and blue portal surrounded Bryce's form and swallowed him inside of it. Bryce tried to call out to his dad, but he didn't get out a word before he was completely enveloped and the portal began to disappear. Zach dove for the portal, hoping to do something, anything, but it felt like his body was moving through thick molasses. He didn't get there in time. The portal closed, and Bryce disappeared along with it.

"No… nonononoono, not again." Zach said, shaking. "Please not again."

Bryce was gone. And he had no idea how he was going to get him back.

Let it be known Bryce was normally not one to scream. He had a fairly high resistance to scary images and surprises, so he'd rarely even jumped at jump scares. But this was one of those rare instances where it kinda felt like the appropriate thing to do, cause Bryce had no idea what was going on.

He was tumbling through a void of black, with swirling blue power around it, and a tint of red pulsating every once in a while. Not that Bryce cared for the colors, but it was the only thing he could see right now. He felt weightless, spinning uncontrollably in the emptiness.

In a flash of bright light, Bryce felt gravity returned and suddenly he could see the sky. Bryce flipped his body to locate the ground, and did see it. A large forest that seemed to go on for miles. And he was fast approaching it.

"Woah!" Bryce forced some creation energy into his feet as he aimed his feet to the forest floor below him. Barely catching himself, he began to breathe heavily, having saved himself from a whole lot of pain.

"What… what in Archon just happened?"

"You dimension jumped. And it isn't a good thing."

Bryce felt a sting of worry enter his heart as he looked down at the sword at his waist that contained Alpha's main unit.

"What do you mean by that Alpha?"

"If how your father was acting is any indication, I believe this dimension has a fairly high Dimensional weight. It may be a weight we ourselves cannot escape from."

Bryce gulped at the prospect. "Your… Am I stuck here?"

"Potentially. It would be wise to assume you are trapped in this unknown dimension for the time being. But we will never know until we try."

"Good point." Bryce took a deep breath and began to push his energy out like his dad had told him to do before. He attempted to delve through the wall surrounding this world and let his signature flow through the multiverse. But it never made it out. His energy rebounded before it could even get close, as if it had hit a brick wall.

Fear gripped his heart. He was separated from everything he knew. He had no way he knew to get back. And everyone at home may have no way to get here. The way his dad had reacted showed that. Panic began to fill his mind. Thoughts of the worst began to run at a steady pace.

A calm feeling began to emanate from the back of his neck near the base of his skull. It overtook the fear and panic and helped Bryce focus. Letting out a slow sigh, Bryce smiled.

"Thanks Alpha. I needed that."

"You're welcome. If we are to survive long enough to get back home, we need to be calm. You are currently drained of much of your omni-energy and a portion of your creation energy. If we can regain much of your lost energy, we may have a chance of being able to return home."

"Good point. For now, let's focus on finding civilization and staying safe." Thinking back to his father's lessons on dimension jumping, Bryce asked "Any idea what power this world uses yet."

Before Alpha could give a response, they both heard gunshots echoing across the landscape. As they listened closer, the telltale sounds of combat weren't far off to the north.

"I believe a good guess would be we can find out that information if we head that direction. But be careful, they may not be friendly."

"Agreed. When we get close enough, analyze their powers for me. I'd rather not draw unwanted attention."

"Will do. I will make you aware of other threats as we travel."

Bryce nodded, before falling to the ground and began using some of his remaining energy to dash across the forest floor. As he did, he began to extend his energy around him, broadening his senses. As he did, he noticed many pitch black creatures with bony armor surrounding them. He shivered as he dashed by a particularly large bear-like creature.

"Alpha? Are… are these-"

"No, they are not Nekropsychi. Their soul presence, while devoid, does not hold the same malevolence or signature that the Nekropsychi do. And they seem to be more animal-like than the Nekropsychi. They are hostile, but not nearly as dangerous."

The young Septonians let out a sigh of relief. "Good. That means they're manageable then, correct?"

"Easily."

"Well then. Maybe this is an opportune time to get some stress relief." Bryce smiled as he drew Alpha from his sheath, the blade glinted menacingly in the sunlight. A red mist began to surround him as he beelined for one of the nearby creatures.

"Are we not going to do anything about him?"

Ozpin didn't respond to his trusted right hand. Instead, he continued to stare intently at the young man on the screen. He tore through the Grimm in front of him with an ease that would make many a veteran huntsman jealous. Whether they were elder Grimm or not, all of them seemed to fall to his blade. Ursa and Beowulf alike.

"He could be a danger to the students. He is obviously more combat experienced and prepared and he seems to be heading directly for them. Are you not worried about this?" Ms. Goodwitch asked, pushing up her glasses past her blonde hair as she looked at the camera feed as the young man took the head off a particularly large Ursa with an axe kick.

"I believe we are safe in the assumption he is not here with ill intent. Or even know where he is for that matter. I believe his earlier comments made that clear. However, I am not planning on waltzing around unchecked. I simply believe his interaction with the students will be the most telling."

Ms. Goodwitch sighed as she looked at the white haired professor indignantly. "I hope you're right, Ozpin."

"The combatants are only fifteen hundred feet out. I can distinctly replicate their energy at this point in time."

"Awesome. Hit me." Bryce said as they approached the fight up ahead. From what Bryce could tell, the people up ahead were fighting these Nekropsychi wannabes. It made Bryce question what kind of situation this world was in. Was it apocalyptic? Were these creatures overrunning everything? He hoped not, he wasn't ready to deal with another war torn world.

Bryce felt Alpha's energy shift to a new form. Focusing on the energy, Bryce quickly converted his creation and destruction energy into the new power, leaving only about fifteen percent of his creation energy to be able to reform it to its natural state later on. The power formed around his body like a shield and while he felt himself lose some strength, he could tell the power enhanced one's physical capabilities. Not a terrible power.

As he reached the tree line, Bryce finally spotted the combatants in front of him. There seemed to be one group of teenagers fighting a large scorpion monster he'd come across earlier. It was the size of a small house, with black and white coloration except for the stinger, which was an amber color. They were holding their own fairly well against the giant monster, except for one of them. A blonde guy, wielding a longsword and shield, seemed to be struggling in the fight itself, but was rather good at co-ordinating the other three, a red-headed spartan girl wielding a Shortsword/rifle and shield, an orange haired girl who was swinging around a giant hammer that doubled as a grenade launcher, and a monk like figure with black hair and a pink streak. It was fairly impressive and Bryce definitely had more than a few ideas come to mind at seeing their transforming weapons.

The second group was further ahead past the Cliffside near some ruins fighting a massive bird. He wasn't close enough to make them out, but they seemed to be planning something. Hopefully that is.

Bryce looked back to the fight against the scorpion and started running towards them at a fast pace. As he drew closer, he readied Alpha and looked for an opportunity, and he found it when the orange haired one slipped and the giant scorpion, Gigaorpion as he decided to dub it, made to attack her with its tail. Pushing himself forward, Bryce sliced through the back of the monster's tail, before piercing its skull with his sword.

Bryce winced as he realized he'd overdone it. That was a bit too much, if the shocked looks on three of their faces were anything to go by. The fourth face was that of the orange haired, hammer girl, and she looked super giddy and excited.

"Uh, sorry 'bout that. Didn't mean to steal your kill." Bryce said a little awkwardly. The first to respond was the redhead.

"No, no, it's fine. We appreciate your help." She smiled, before extending her hand. "I'm Pyrrha. And this is my partner Jaune." She pointed to the blond haired teen next to her.

"I'm Nora, and this is my sloth buddy Ren! We're together… But not like, together. We're just friends" The orange haired girl began to rant as she grabbed ahold of the rather silent monk next to her, who seemed to simply smile at her antics.

"I'm Bryce. Nice to meet you guys."

Pyrrha looked around in worry, before turning to him and saying, "Where's your partner?"

"Partner?"

"Yes. Did you not find anyone else when you landed?" Pyrrha's head clocked to the side with worry, while Ren's eyes narrowed with suspicion.

"You are here for Beacon's initiation, correct?"

"Um…" Before Bryce could properly formulate a response (read: lie), they were interrupted by the sound of shattering concrete and turned to see the other four teens still engaged in deadly combat against the bird monster. Bryce looked back to the other four and said, "Hold that thought," before running over to help the other four.

Bryce reached the edge of the cliff where the bridge had previously been. He jumped off the edge and got about halfway across before he pushed a button on his sword and the tip shot out like a grappling hook, burying itself into one of the rock platforms that was still standing. He pushed the button again and it was released from the rocks, allowing him to soar across the chasm before reaching the Cliffside, flying right past the four other teens.

Turning to see how he could help, Bryce watched as the headless body of the bird fell to the bottom of the canyon. Looking back at the teens, he saw only three of them and could safely assume the other was up above him and had been responsible for the decapitation of the monster.

The other three began finding their way over to the cliff side, obviously intending on making their way up.

"I believe our best course of action is to reach the top and assist them in their climb. They could be useful potential allies."

'That sounds like a good idea. Onward and upward then.'

With the grappling hook capability, ascending the Cliffside was a fairly easy task, a simple leap off the side once or twice, before aiming higher up on the cliff to have Alpha catch the side and carry him up higher. Once he did reach the top, he was met by a smaller girl with dark red hair in a red cloak, who was staring at him rather intently.

"Uh, hi," Bryce said, uncomfortable with the sudden close proximity of the younger girl. And he could swear he saw stars in her eyes.

"Oh. My. Goodness. Your sword is so awesome!" It took Bryce a moment to realize what the Red Riding Hood look-alike had said.

"Thanks? And you are?" The girl faltered for a moment before stepping back sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.

"He he, yeah. Sorry 'bout that. I get ahead of myself, I just think weapons are super cool and yours is just such a cool idea, yet so simple and versatile,it's really-" She stopped herself mid rant, and looked down, "sorry. I'm a huge weapons nerd."

"It' s fine. My name's Bryce Anderson. What's yours?" Bryce extended his hand out to the girl. She smiled, bouncing lightly before shaking his hand.

"My name is Ruby Rose. Nice to meet you!"
