He arrived in a room and immediately bumped into a table. It was very gloomy, hence the table bumping, and there didn't appear to be a single window. The only light came from the next room, which Remus now emerged from, carrying a can of spaghetti hoops, which he promptly chucked at Sirius.

"Jesus Christ, Pads, why didn't you just knock on the door? I thought you were a death eater!"

"Quick." Sirius replied, then he hesitated as he needed to fill Remus in quickly but he needed a bit of tact.

"Something's happened!"

"What? I haven't seen you since February."

"Um, Lily's dead."

"But how? You're the secret keeper."

"We changed to the rat yesterday, thought it would be less obvious."

"Oh my god." Remus sank into one of the wooden chairs. Then he went off at Peter with about as many curse words as he knew.

"James is just devastated, and Harry's injured and I don't know what to do so Moony help me!" Sirius finished, having gotten more and more hysterical.

"Right, lets go." Remus said, grabbing Sirius' arm and apparating.

-

"Hey James it's me, I'm really really sorry." Remus went over to hug his friend.

Harry was crying on the floor, so Sirius picked him up.

"Stay with Prongs while I go and find some savlon." Remus instructed.

He hurried out of the room, but stopped short when he saw Lily's body. A wave of nausea crashed over him, causing him to sway slightly where he stood. He was unable to deal with it, and sprinted upstairs away from the 21 year old's corpse.

It became evident when he reached the landing that the bath was running. He turned the taps off quickly, feeling relieved it hadn't overflowed- James definitely did not need a flood to deal with as well. After a quick rummage in the Potter's medicine cabinet, he quickly found the antiseptic and plasters and bought them downstairs, staring fixedly at the doorframe when he passed the bottom of the stairs.

Harry had been transferred to James' lap now, still mewling, while Sirius tried to distract him with various household objects.

"What's that?" He questioned Remus on his friend's return.

"Savlon." He answered. "It's a muggle cream for cleaning cuts." He clarified, seeing Sirius' confused expression.

"Can't you just use a healing spell?"

"It'll work, trust me." He said, unscrewing the cap and squeezing some white cream onto his fingers. Actually a healing spell would probably have worked just as well, but Remus didn't know many as they had no effect on werewolf wounds. Unwilling to admit this, he approached Harry and smeared the cream onto the cut on his forehead, then stuck on a plaster.

Much to their relief, the baby stopped crying. For approximately 5 seconds.

"Maybe he needs changing, this room isn't exactly fragrant." Sirius suggested.

"Good idea." said Remus, sitting down on the sofa beside James.

There was a beat.

"Well I'm not going to do it."

Sirius inclined his head towards the back of the room and Remus followed him.

"You change him and I'll discuss with James the um," he gestured to the doorway, "situation."

Realising Sirius meant the body, Remus nodded and went over to Harry.

"Prongs, where do you keep the nappies?"

"By the toilet roll."

He found them quickly, maneuvered Harry awkwardly onto the changing mat and then realised he didn't have a clue what to do.

Harry wasn't enjoying being on his back and had relapsed back into full on bawling.

Sirius returned 5 minutes later to find a flustered Remus still trying to take the nappy off, so he took pity and finished the job.
