A/N: For all my fans who enjoyed DoA, here's the final, true ending part 1 of DoA. Seriously, that last one was just a sequence. Reviews would be seriously appreciated. What, should Minako and Minato get married or would he fare well without her? Review!

I laid facedown on a grassy, earthy surface, listening to the soft winds and the rustling of leaves and grass. Nobody was watching... Nobody else seemed to be there... Hell, I'm not even sure if I was really there.

Then, I realized that I might be naked. When I felt myself, I really was naked...

When I opened my eyes, everything was brighter... I was under a collossal apple tree in a beautiful meadow veiled in soft, white mist... It might even be a vale... Green hills encompassing a wonderful looking garden and house and a breathtaking sea on the side, with a massive gate behind me. The walls looked to be made with pearls. My first impulse was that I might be in Avalon, but it seemed unlikely.

I was absolutely naked, but it didn't bother me so much, since I was alone in that meadow. Even if I were with someone, I felt as if it were natural, as if it were meant to be.

The air felt cleaner... The grass was greener... The water was clearer... The sunlight was more radiant... The place felt younger... And just beyond a giant gate, where there was night, the countless stars in Heaven's field reflected on the lake.

When I sat up, I touched all my wounds. I was unscathed. They weren't any wounds at all... There wasn't even any scarring. Even my old scars from fighting shadows last year were gone, except for the puncture scars I had in my wrists and feet.

Standing up, I wished that I was clothed. Barely had a second passed, when a flock of doves flew down from the tree with clothes, which I gladly accepted. It was a soft, supple cloth as if it were made from the light itself. It was as heavy as a feather, yet hard as dragon scales.

The material of the cloth didn't surprise me. It was how fast I got it.

I then wished I had food. Lo and behold, several doves flew down with several pieces of cooked meat in parcels, unleavened bread and even a glass of cold milk.

After eating it, I made my way towards the house. After a moment of hesitation, I entered the cottage. It was quaint, comfy and homely. The place was nearly deserted, except for a small group.

"Oh, he's here!" A soft, motherly voice said.

"Really?" A girly voice said.

"Sweet!" A woman with blonde hair said.

"Yes, it's definitely him!" A manly, strong and fatherly voice said, "Takes after me!"

I looked at them. The group was four women, one looking vaguely familiar, very motherly and had a beautiful, timeless age, and five men, one looking familiar, with my blue hair, one had mousy brown hair, the other looked like an old friend, one had fiery red hair and the last one would've looked familiar, but he had two healthy eyes, instead of one covered with an eyepatch.

"Oh my Lord! I cannot believe it! I'm so glad to meet you!" The motherly one said as she hugged me warmly. I felt as if I knew this feeling before.

"She really is." One of them said.

"Totally." The motherly one said.

"That's nice." I said curtly, "Can anyone here please show me where I am?" I trailed off as the group laughed at me.

"We're sorry, but you are just too cute!" The motherly one said.

"D'ya have any idea where you're at, kid?" The manly guy asked.

"Uh... I dunno, Kansai?" I said, "Uh... Australia? Down Under?"

"Try the opposite of that." The smart looking guy said.

The manly guy high fived the mousy haired one. I stood there confused.

"Okay, let me ask you... What do you know about your mom?" The motherly one said.

"Eh... She died years ago with my dad." I said, "But a while back, Uncle Seiko told me that my mom was as lazy as a sloth. If that is true, then I guess that would explain why I sleep 12 hours a day."

She pursed her lips, "Sloth huh? How sweet." She said dryly.

"My mom wasn't a sloth, okay? She's a-"

"An Angel." The manly one said.

"-right, she was an angel, and-"

"Haha, looks like someone inherited your thickheadedness, Mako!" The motherly one said.

"Aw, be quiet Chisato." He mumbles...

I felt glacial as I remembered 'Mako' was a nickname I knew well, "Mako... Chisato... WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?" I shouted so loudly, they stiffened up.

"Minato, we're your parents. I'm Makoto Yūki and this is Chisato Kichōu."

That floored me. I almost stumbled.

The woman beside her took a photo of me.

"Sorry, but the look on your face was just priceless!" She said as she shook the polaroid photo.

"Waitaminute, my mom is probably older by now! Why are you young?" I demanded.

"Angels don't get any older, son." Chisato said, then sighed, "I can't believe I was able to call him son again!"

"IKR?" the other angel said, "Right Take? Oh, you're too serious! Mitsuru's like that too! Totally unlike me, daddy-O. Smile!"

The angels gestured me to sit as we drank Coke, Dr. Pepper and Sprite as we ate cake that appeared before the table.

"Where did you meet dad?" I asked.

"When was that? My cousin Hirotaro introduced us... At first, I didn't like him... He was arrogant, loud, conceited and thickheaded... Not to mention as bright as my gym socks-"

"Hey..." Makoto protested.

"But I didn't know he was funny, he made me laugh and I hate to say it, but he really was sexy."

I groaned.

"We probably spent five hours making you..." Makoto said, "But we weren't thinking about making you, son... We were more interested with each other's bodies."

"Ahhh, Dad! You're gonna make me puke all over the cake!" I cried.

They all laughed.

"Our Minako was like that..." One angel, a ginger haired woman said.

"Minako... Are you her and Kamina's mother?" I asked.

She smiled, "Yes. I'm Sagiri, and this is her father, Shigure." She gestured to the man beside her.

"Hello." He said quietly. I almost didn't believe that the two, who could be librarians, could be the parents of Minako and Kamina Arisato.

"Then who-"

"Ino Takeba, Yukari's mom. I'm really sorry for the grief Yukari's been giving you..." She apologized.

"I'm sorry too..." I mumbled.

"Yurika. Mother of Mitsuru," Yurika said cheerfully. You wouldn't have expected such a happy, cheerful person to be both mother and wife to two very serious people.

"So, Mitsuru's mom is not too serious?" I said, "And those-"

"You know me." The one said, "Takeharu Kirijo."

"Wait..." I said, "I thought you had an eyepatch?"

He smiled wryly, "I was ambushed by a rival zaibatsu as a lad. I thought I could take them, but I got injured in the eye. Your father saved me. Since then, though I did not lose my eyesight, I wore an eyepatch to remind myself never to get too overconfident."

"But you're not blind?"

"No." He said curtly, "I just told you I wear it so I wouldn't become overconfident."

I nodded sheepishly and looked at someone next to him.

"Eiichiro Takeba. Yukari's dad." Eiichiro smiled.

"Akinari Kamiki. I'm finally at peace." He smiled.

"We decided to wait for you before we-" Chisato said, then her phone rang, "I have to get this...

"Hello? Yes, he's here with me now... Yes, we'll leave ASAP. What?! I don't know if he's hot or sexy, he's my son you perverted angel! You know what, I'll call you back." She hung up, "That was Kimiko, my friend. She said hi."

"Tell her hi too." I said.

She made a move to get her phone, but stopped, "Maybe you should tell her yourself when we leave."

"Leave where?" I asked.

"The Island of Paradise, also known as the Graden of Eden." Makoto said.

"Why?" I asked, "Do I even deserve being there?"

They laughed so loudly, even Takeharu was tearing up.

"Wait, you're actually serious?!" Mako asked in surprise.

"You do, kid." Yurika said, "Saving the world many times? You deserve a seat in His table for all you've done, plus you're the Heir apparent of the Messiah's sword!"

"Seriously?" I asked.

"Well, self-sacrifice will automatically get you there, but doing it twice, you'll get to The Promised Land." Takeharu said, "Not to mention you destroyed evil incarnate."

"So... I'm dead...?" I asked.

"Ah... I guess that is the question, eh?" Chisato said quizzically.

"On the whole, my friend, I don't think so." Akinari said.

"Do I get a choice?" I asked.

"Yes, exactly. You need to decide if you want to stay on earth or go to The Promised Land with us." Makoto said.

"But... Would that mean-"

"Yes... for if you leave, your body will die." Eichiro said.

"Wait, so-" I began, but I was interrupted when a towering young man entered the room. He was tall, strong looking and stoic. His shaggy hair was without his usual beanie and pea coat, instead wearing white garments and he was smiling brightly. Holding his hand was a silver haired little girl who had the same smile Akihiko rarely showed last year.

"Hey, you guys should-" the tall young man said, "Wait... Isn't that...? Well I'll be a son of a bitch!" He cried, before apologizing to the child after she glared at him, and placed a hundred yen in what seems to be a swear jar, "Minato!"

"Shinjiro-senpai?" I said, recognizing the young man, "Is that you?"

"Yeah!" Shinjiro said, "Why'd you seem so shocked?"

"Oh, uh... Its just that I never imagined you to be in a place like this."

"What's that supposed to mean?!" He snarled.

"Nothing. I-I meant that its nice to see you." I stammered.

"I'll take that as a compliment. Oh, uh, this is Miki Sanada, you know, Aki's kid sister." Miki hid behind Shinjiro.

"...'lo." Miki said timidly.

"Hahaha, why are you so shy all of the sudden? Not one second ago, you were going on about meeting him!" Shinjiro said while laughing. Miki blushed red as she slapped Shinjiro's back.

"Ow!" Shinjiro cried, "Hahaha..."

"So, what's up, Shinjiro-kun?" Makoto asked.

"Oh, you guys come by the fountain now!" He said excitedly. It must've been truly exciting, since Shinjiro usually shows the exact same excitement as a dead beaver.

We followed him out. It felt so nice here, I found it so hard to leave. Having my mom and dad near was precious.

We followed Shinjiro and Miki towards the fountain. The fountain was a tall, beautiful stone structure cobbled with pretty stones, and at the middle stood a white tree, tall and strong.

He threw a stone at it and pointed to the waters. At first, all I saw was the rippling of the waters, then an image formed.

I saw my friends meeting on the lobby of a hospital and Minako wearing a white gown. Even Yukari was there.

"Oh, Shigure! She looks so beautiful!" Sagiri sighed.

"Yeah, just like our Mitsuru! Oh, Take, she still has those curls!" Yurika squealed as she squeezed Takeharu's arm.

"That's my girl..." Takeharu said quietly.

"Shinji-oniichan, Aki-oniichan looks so wonderful!" Miki sighed as she blushed.

"Hahaha, he looks like a penguin!" Shinjiro laughed as Miki slapped him again on the butt.

"Be quiet, all of you!" Eichiro said, "My Yukari looks beautiful." He said proudly.

"Guys, ease up on the commentating, I'm trying to watch." I grumbled impatiently.

They hugged each other as they entered a room. Lying on the bed, was a boy with blue hair with a pasty white skin. His wrists and feet had four deep and old puncture scars. He was scarred almost on every inch on his body, especially on his left side, where a stab from an evil blade had injured him with a curse wound. He looked at peace, as if he was sleeping.

"That's me, isn't it?" I breathed, barely a whisper.

"Presto kid." Makoto said, "That's you."

Minako was given a bouquet while Yukari placed a veil. Fuuka threw some roses and everyone laughed while crying.

A chaplain was talking, droning on about promises and eternal love. Minako was staring intently on my face.

The chaplain told Minako to say her vows.

Minako smiled, "I want you forever, forever and always... Through the good and the bad and the ugly... We'll grow old together, and always remember whether happy or sad or whatever... we'll still love each other, forever and always... Forever and always... forever and always..." She sobbed uncontrollably as Yukari comforted her. Minako then placed a ring on my finger.

I was at tears, I whispered, "Watashi wa eien ni, tsuneni okonau... I do... Forever... And always..." Then I completely broke down.

Makoto patted me in the back.

"Sorry guys, but I... I need to take a walk." I said, and without waiting for their answer, I walked towards the shore.

The shoreline included a white sand beach and a cobbled harbor. There were arches that decorated the place, making it seem like an ancient place, which it probably was. Strangely enough, for such a giant harbor, there wasn't a single ship in sight. The place was empty. On the horizon, I could faintly see the outline of three closely situated islets. The highest point was a mountain, with a white tower on top. I longed to see what it beheld, what wonders it holds. If there was any place to mull about everything, it would be here. I mean, where else to contemplate the meaning of life than on the bulwark of Paradise?

I sat on the dock as I thought about everything. I thought about my parents, my friends, my choices and most of all, I thought of Minako, my bride of seventeen.

The seabreeze and the sound of the seagulls comforted me. Other than the fact that I had Minako's heart, I also was entitled as a Guest of Honor to Eden and a chance of eternal life there.

Then, I heard through the port a soft, wet sound that flapped, flailed and struggled against something. It was pitiful, like a fish trying to get back to the water. But I felt as though I was intruding upon something personal. I wanted to check it out, since it was all silent, save for those noises.

I looked around the crates, where the noise emanated from.

I quickly recoiled in disgust, because I saw the thing making the noises.

There was something on the ground, writhing in pain. It took form of a naked adult sized babies, with raw, broken skin, looking like it was flayed with a barbed whip and they lay on the ground shuddering, unwanted, abandoned and struggling to breathe.

I wanted to help them, yet I didn't want to. I felt ashamed for feeling like they deserved it... I wanted to comfort them, but they looked like three people who did me great wrong and I felt like it was no more than they deserve.

"It's no use. You cannot help it."

I wheeled about to see my father and everyone behind me.

"My son..." Makoto said, "Do you know what that thing is?"

"No... who... what are they?" I asked.

"That..." Akinari pointed with disgust, "are the abhorred dead."

"Something beyond any of our help." Takeharu said grimly.

"Yeah... But I think you know them..." Yurika said.

"Think about what it had done, his cruelty, his greed and his extreme, misanthropic nihilism." Eichiro said.

I thought about the likely candidates, "Lucifer... The spirit who seduced Johei..." I said.

"Bingo. Give the kid a jacket." Shinjiro said with a smile.

"Hey, but wait, where's Cato- ah, I mean Jōhei?" I asked as mother looked so sad.

"Jōhei... Your twin was merely a tool for Lucifer... But he managed to beat Lucifer at his own game." Makoto said, "But his spirit was too pure for Evil to penetrate him. He gave his body to escape purgatory. His soul constantly fought with the Demons that possessed him. He was good on the inside. When the Demons finally stole Jōhei own soul, they used it. Quite sad, really."

"And Lucy?"

"She is forgiven by the Lord of Infinite Mercy," Chisato said, "For she had sinned through love."

"So, only Lucifer was punished?" I said quizzically.

"That's right." They said.

I looked at the body with pity, "Are you sure there is nothing we can do?"

"There is no help possible to save their souls." Chisato said sadly.

"This is the Judgement of God. That they stay in limbo, suffering as they watch the countless souls leave for Paradise and Eternal Salvation, while they remain here in agony, denied salvation till the end of time." Sagiri said.

"Also, I doubt Cato would get much of a welcome in Hell..." Makoto said, "He wielded Lucifer's Blade, after all... And Takaya only planned to destroy the world, while Cato planned to destroy Heaven, corrupt the Angels and use the remaining Heavenly Hosts to invade Hell and destroy Lucifer. Then, he'll erect himself as the new god. Cato, in this context, is Johei's demons."

I gasped. I knew he was mentally disturbed, but I never knew Cato was THAT crazy. I thought he was just a regular bully, but first impressions are often wrong.

"Cato-Elder was definitely THAT Evil." I said.

"Cato's true power wasn't his ability to wield the Dark Arts or make armies out of souls and corpses... No, that was easy. But killing his own adoptive family and friends, with whom he'd shared many times and moments... Cato's true power was the ability to do what he had done." Makoto said, "Yet, it wasn't his fault he became that way. If we allow our hatred and passions to control us and take over, we become as vile as the Demons who torment this world.".

"Shall we leave the scum to suffer?" Takeharu said.

Nodding, we left the body there and went to the cottage. We ate some cheese, honey and milk.

"So... dying... Does it hurt at all?" I asked.

"Hah, we ought to ask you!" Makoto growled, "But it was easier than falling asleep."

"Tell me about the night you... you died." I said quietly.

Chisato pursed her lips, "Well... Truth be told, your father and I wielded Personas as well. Mine was Demeter."

"Mine's Hercules." Makoto grunted.

"Yeah... We were driving at the bridge, when we saw an android, Aigis, fighting Death. She was getting pounded, literally." Makoto said, smiling,

"So we decided to help. Locking the doors, we went out to aid her and did a great job at it. That was until Death shot a bullet at Aigis and it ricocheted at Makoto, hitting him in the leg. You saw that and went out." Chisato said.

I remembered that part, albiet it was fuzzy. My head began to hurt at the memories.

"We were quite surprised at you two having the potential, but even more at going into the line of fire." Chisato said, "So Death targeted a Mamudoon at you and somehow banished Jōhei, who saved you as I jumped in his way, telling him not to kill you. He told me with that rattly voice of his to stay away. He sensed a great and unlimited power within you that could destroy him. I refused and was struck down by the curse and died."

"I'm... I'm sorry, mom." I said with a croaky voice, "It's my fault..."

"No it isn't." Chisato said sternly, "Had we left Aigis to her fate, we would have been able to live, but we couldn't just watch."

"Anyway, that old codger, Death, tried a Megidolaon at you, but strangely. You weren't hit. In fact, it reflected upon him and weakened him severely. Then, Aigis used her Persona and sealed Death inside you after I volunteered my soul for it. That's how we died."

"And the wreckage from the fight was the 'car accident'." Chisato said wryly.

"Why wasn't I killed?" I said confusedly.

"Because of one thing that Death knows not... A power it underestimates and does not have." Makoto said.

"What is it?" I asked again.

They smiled, "It's Love, Minato. True, Undying Love."

"But... I killed Jōhei. I killed my own twin-" I said sadly.

"He chose the wrong path because he was led astray." Makoto said with burden, "But he really did love you, Minato. He remembered it in the end."

Before I could ask another question, there was a loud foghorn call.

Everyone smiled as they went out. Confused, I also went out.

In the port, was a royal looking white barge, with tall masts with the symbol of Heaven and angelic seamen. We strode forward and the captain, a tall, timeless angel, with a silver beard. For an angel, he looked so ancient.

"Greetings. We haven't been properly introduced yet, I am Sandalphon, the shipwright and captain of the Dauntless." Sandalphon said as the rest of the major angels strode forward. I recognized them as Metatron, Camael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel and to my surprise, Michael.

"Michael!" I cried in shock.

"Hello, Young Messiah!" He greeted cheerfully, "I am glad to see that my sword helped end Lucifer. It made me feel proud!" He beats his chest with a clenched fist, "Reminds me when David used it. Lord, those were the glory days! But why glorify the past when a brighter present awaits?"

"But... But I thought you were dead when Deus Xiphos was shattered?!" I cried.

"I was. It felt immensely cold. Reminds me a time when Archangel Gabriel accidentally sneezed on me-" he said as Gabriel looked slightly smug, "But the Lord saw it fit to grant me a new body. I haven't recieved one in nearly ten thousand years!"

"And... Archangel Camael... I'm surprised you came here personally." I said coldly.

Camael fidgeted, "I did. I'm here to say... I'm sorry for misjudging you.,

Makoto came forward, "Well, isn't THAT dandy! You nearly killed my boy and now you say 'sorry'?!"

"I was mistaken." Camael said shamefully, "But to you, Minato, you have shown your quality." He said proudly, "The Highest of the High." Camael, Michael and the other Archangels bowed. The angelic sailors looked surprise and prostated themselves at my feet. To my surprise, my mother and everyone else bowed.

"It is truly an honor to meet you, Lord Messiah." Sandalphon said as he stood up, "You've earned this. Prepare to leave!"

Everyone got inside. Shinjiro helped Miki to the ship. My father and mother stopped outside the walkway.

"Umi yobidashi tōhō hōmu, watashi no taiyō..." Makoto said, "The sea calls us home, my son."

I stood there, comtemplating on it.

"I have to go with you, don't I?" I asked.

Chisato smiled, "The choice is yours."

"I have a choice?" I asked.

"Of course you do." Makoto said, "We're at the Grey Havens right? Suppose you don't want to go back, you'd be able to... Oh, I don't know... Board a ship?"

"And where would it take me?" I asked.

He smiled, "White shores. And beyond. A far green country, under the swift sunrise. On a place where it know no wars, no hunger, no problems... Only eternal life and utter happiness."

"Really? I always imagined Heaven to be all cloudy and full of mist." I said, "I never knew it could take form of an Island."

"Heaven takes form of whatever that person assumes Heaven to be." Chisato said, "And Japan DOES thrive in seafaring."

I remained silent.

"I think," Chisato began, "That if you return to Earth, you have far less fear in returning here than anyone else."

I glanced at the shore. I sighed deeply. Leaving this place wouldn't be nearly as hard as dying twice, but the warmth and the peacefulness of this place would be more of a loss. I might be going back into the world, with more losses and more problems to return to... Wouldn't it be better to stay here and be happy? If Minako was here, I would gladly take the ship to Paradise and be happy forever... But Minako wasn't here. And everyday in Paradise without her would be as bad as the punishment given to Lucifer and Takaya.

"I want to go back." I said resolutely.

The angels immediately looked at me as if I swore loudly or said something highly profane or blasphemous. Camael strode forward, "So... You are rejecting this generous offer?" He said, with an oddly dangerous voice.

"I'm sorry, but there's too much I've left on earth. I'd like to live my life first, then I'll come back." I said.

Michael studied me and shrugged, "Well, you choseth that fate with thine own free will. My friend."

"For real?" I asked.

"We will not deny that you are probably the first to decline Paradise willingly..." Metatron said.

"But...Even God cannot bend free will. That's why He created it in the first place." Raphael said.

"Either way, we'll be more than glad to ferry you to Eden with your loved one after you return..." Sandalphon said.

"Which is just around five minutes, in Heaven time..." Uriel said.

"Yep. After all, time is liquid here..." Gabriel said.

"But remember... you will always, ALWAYS have a place in Heaven." Michael said.

"Now and forever, my Lord." Camael bowed and went back.

I looked at my parents, "Tell me one thing..." I said, "Is this real? Or is this just happening inside my head?"

They smiled at me, "Possibly. But why on earth should that mean that it isn't real?" Makoto asked. Chisato then gave me an ornate ball, "Use this." I took it, "Break it and it will take you home."

"We'll miss you, son." Makoto said.

I hugged my parents tightly. Then, my mom's eyes brightened up, "Wait, before you leave..." She fixes my hair.

"That was a mom thing, wasn't it?" Makoto said with a grin.

"Yes." She smiled, "This'll be the last time I do that... Minato... We'll always be with you in your dreams."

"She means that quite literally, boy. If you need help, sleep. Dreamscape us. It works like Viber here." Makoto winked.

"It IS Viber here." Chisato said as she showed a phone with an app 'Dreamscape'.

"Farewell." I said sadly, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you."

"Realize this, son... The only regret your mother and I have is that we didn't see for ourselves how you grew to be the noble, admirable young man you are now." Makoto said.

I began to cry. I felt so weak crying so much.

"We won't say 'do not cry', for not all tears are evil." Makoto said.

"Will... Will we meet again?" I asked while sobbing.

"Yep. But not after you live your life." Chisato said.

"Soon?" I asked.

"Yes. Soon, but not too soon," Makoto added with a wink.

They hugged me and kissed me as they rode on the ship. The ship sailed away, with the angels saluting me, "Farewell Minato! May you live a long and fruitful life!"

My parents and friends waved. "Goodbye, son!" My father and mother said.

I bowed my head and suddenly felt multiple presences behind me. I turned around to see Hide. They wore white garments and seemed at peace. They bowed to me and smiled respectfully. I then saw Cato materializing next to me, wearing his armor. He nods to me solemnly and puts his right hand over his left breast in respect and bows honorably. Lucy materialized beside him and held his arm while talking to me, though no words came out. They all smiled and walked away and opened the Gate. It revealed a very long, winding mountain path that probably was purgatory. I knew it would wound back to here. Because Johei really, truly felt remorse, he was given a chance in redemption. Lucy sinned through love. They looked back, bowed respectfully and passed through the gate.

Shedding a tear, I smiled and felt sleepy. Yawning, I fell back and closed my eyes.

Darkness began to grip me. Time and thought escaped me, as I wheeled across time and space itself. Every second felt like a lifetime of the Earth.

The final thought in my mind, and perhaps the only one, was Minako. I closed my eyes and whispered, "Minako..."

Then... I saw light.
