A Better Pirate

(For MLB Fans: Ok yes this account is mainly used for MLB but I just watched all 3 seasons of The Deep and absolutely loved it. So to answer the question that I bet most of you are asking is yes this will stay a MLB centered account with occasional stories for The Deep, Descendants, and really any other shows, movies or books that I stumble across and like. So sorry if you were expecting a MLB fic but I'm trying to expand my ranges.)

(For everyone else)

Hi I'm LoveBug7744, a mainly MLB (Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir) fanfiction writer (hence the name) but I just watched the Deep and loved it and I found this fanfiction segment. I wish this amazing show/fanfiction was more noticed so I decided to try and write a fic for it. Please know this is my first fic outside of MLB so I am totally out of my comfort zone so please let me know if I got any of the character's wrong. Reviews always make my day so please let me know what you think. And one last thing: please do not expect this to be updated soon or regularly as I am busy. Bug, er Pirate(?) Out?

"Sorry Fontaine, looks like I have to look you prisoner again, captain's orders," Finn sighed as he gently pushed me into a small room. He reluctantly locked the door and I glared back at him. He sighed as he went back for Ant who he pushed less than gently into his holding cell a bit farther down from me (they knew better now than to leave the two of us together).

I looked around the room for something to escape with but found nothing other than smashed crates, broken locks, torn wetsuits/diving suits, pickled egg jars and a whole lot of duct tape. I groaned not seeing anything too useful and grabbed a small sprinter off a crate and used it to pick the lock on the rickety handcuffs until they were loose enough to slip off. I pulled my arms in front of me and finished picking the lock, with much more ease, till the cuffs lay open in my palm. I slipped them into my pocket hoping they might come in handy later.

Suddenly footsteps thundered down the steel hallway and I put my hands behind my back as if they were still cuffed. Finn appeared into view and he gave a cheeky yet sorry smile. I groaned and glared at him but he moved on to go tease Ant most likely. I smirked as soon as he left, his wetsuit giving me a plan. I climbed into a diving suit and pulled the cracked helmet down over my head. I smashed two pickled egg jars together making a loud sound that would draw Finn to check on his prisoners. I then laid down limply so I blended in with the other broken gear.

"What the?" I heard Finn exclaiming and I was sure he was searching the room for any signs of me from the window. Suddenly I heard a creak and the door opened. I jumped up and grabbed Finn before he could react and cranked the handcuffs onto his wrists. He looked startled at the diving suit coming to life before he noticed me in it. "Fontaine?" He questioned before I taped his mouth to keep him from alerting the dark orca's crew. I snatched his communicator and put him in a broken crate. I put some other crates on top and around him so he wouldn't be seen if any other pirates came along. "You're still a better pirate than me I see," he grinned. He started wiggling and knocking stuff off of the stack so I grabbed the larger, chunkery, heavier locks and put them on top like a weight. Finn mumbled annoyed but I had way more important things to do. I left his communicator in a pickled egg jar and left, locking the door behind me.

I tiptoed to Ant's holding cell and found Ant rubbing his cuffs back and forth on a sharp, bent out of place pipe.

"Hey, want some help?" I grinned as I opened the door.

"Fontaine? Is that really you?" Ant asked as he rubbed his eyes on his shoulder as though he were seeing things.

"Yes it's me, now do you want some help out of here or should I just leave you be?" I smiled as I walked in.

"Ya, I could use some help but don't tell Jeffery about this ok," Ant begged.

"He's a fish so whatever," I groaned. I picked the lock on his dented and scraped cuffs and after a few minutes released him and slipped the cuffs in my pocket.

"Thanks Fontaine."

"Come on, we need to hurry before the pirates realise somethings a foot," I whispered as I twisted the grate off the vents. Ant got the hint and grabbed the grate from me so it didn't clang to the ground, alerting the pirates. I boosted Ant to the ceiling and he climbed into the ducts so he could find the controls to sabotage the ship. I smirked as I thought of Hammerhead's surprised face when his sub suddenly stopped.

I froze as footsteps approached and tried to find something to hide behind but unfortunately there were very few things in the room. I hid behind the bent pipe but Mad Madeline easily spotted me.

"Wha' arh ye doin' in thar, argh," She growled. She flung open the door and I looked for anything useful. Spotting nothing I slowly backed away as Madeline advanced. "Ye really reckon ye can get away from me girly, well shiver me timbers not," Madeline growled as I backed away, hands behind my back. I backed into a corner and taped a distress code on the wall repetitively. I smirked when I heard Ant tap back and start moving back through the vents.

"Is it impossible for you to talk like a normal person, you know like english?" I asked, stalling.

"Wha' arh ye up t' landlubber," Madeline growled but she stopped approaching.

"You know that I live in a submarine too, right? Not really a "Land lover," agreed?" I stalled. Luckily Ant's head popped through the vent in the ceiling before Mad Madeline got too annoyed and lashed out. I looked from where Ant was and where Madeline was and formulated a plan.

"Hey Madeline, I bet you're too scared to come two steps closer to me," I grinned.

"Oh ya, I'll come three steps closer to ye," She sneered. Just as I had planned though, Madeline tried to one up me and had placed herself right under the vents. I waved and she stared at me confused before looking up to see Ant tackle her to the ground.

"Argh, we be under attack, captain, we be under attack," Madeline called before I covered her mouth.

"Ant, there's tape in my holding cell," I instructed. He nodded and ran out of the room. I held Madeline against a wall and she thrashed angrily in my grip. Little did she know I had a knack for holding on to annoying little siblings from years of practice on Ant. I grinned as I heard footsteps returning until the footsteps multiplied and sped up, then my grin turned more concerned and in my moment of distraction Madeline twisted out of my hold. She ran to the door to be backed by Finn and Danny Boy. She grinned as she approached with her small crew and Finn gave an apologetic shrug as he followed her. I realised that Ant wasn't with them. I silently begged that he had escaped to get help.

"Well well well, looks like we got ye now landlubber," Madeline grinned.

"Umm, she lives in a sub too sis," Finn grumbled confused. But I covered up his protest with a shout.

"It may look like it but that doesn't mean you've got me yet!"

Madeline charged at me as Finn just smirked at my come back line. Danny Boy looked between the two siblings and me seriously confused. Madeline charged with a growl and Finn leaned against the rusted wall amused as I dodged Madelines attacks.

"DANNY BOY! FINN! HELP ME!" She roared, startling Danny Boy to action. Finn stayed put, putting on his segnater, taunting grin. I smirked as Danny Boy and Madeline charged at me from opposite sides. I jumped just before Danny Boy could tackle me and sprang over him by pushing his shoulders towards Madeline who in turn crashed into him sending me flying out the door- which I slammed closed before locking. Madeline and Danny Boy glared at me as they rubbed their heads and Finn gave me a cheeky grin and small wave before I dashed off- rolling my eyes.

Suddenly the lights went out and I grinned as a few of the pirates shreaked- Ant's sabotage clearly working. I grabbed my flashlight frowning as it refused to turn on, the light bulb pieces rattling against the cracked piece of plastic on the end. I dropped it, no longer of use to me.

"Ant, Fontaine, me and your mom have recovered the stolen artifact and are waiting in the moon pool room for your arrival. I repeat- return to the Aronnax emedently," Will's voice crackled over her communicator.

"Understood, heading back now," I replied.

"See you soon then," Will replied.

I headed to the moon pool wishing I could have been of more use but at least I had kept the "pirates" busy. I entered the moon pool and reached for my rebreather mask that had been stolen and placed on a rickety table. Before I could grab the strap though Mad Madeline crashed through the vent grate, shattering my mask along with the table. Finn followed her out with a groan as he rubbed his head, clearly having banged his head one too many times. Well now I knew his weak spot.

"Really Madeline?" Finn groaned. But Madeline brushed him off with a simple hand gesture. As she lifted scrap wood off her feet I lunged across the room to where the diving suits were kept.

"Stop th' landlubber, 'n make 'er walk th' plank," Madeline commanded.

"Hey Fontaine," Finn sighed sheepishly while Madeline glared at him.

"Pirate Boy," I addressed while slowly inching backwards in hopes they wouldn't notice. "So how do I walk the plank underwater?" I stalled.

"Quit stalin' I know wha' ye' up t'!" Madeline shouted. She kicked away the last shards and splinters of wood away from her feet before grabbing the newest Dark Orca weapon that had rolled to the ground when the table shattered. She aimed it at me and shot a sticky blob of glue like gel towards me. I dived but the gel caught my hair and left arm before I could hit the floor. I tried to unstick my arm from the floor but the splinters of wood stuck to the gel. I ignored it once I was up, running to the suits before Madeline could reload the somehow empty cannon. I grabbed a diving suit- my wet suit not suitable for the deap and murk waters where the Dark Orca had stopped.

I heard another glob of gel and I jumped- pulling the handcuffs out of my pocket and latching them onto a metal beam in the ceiling. I gripped my end of the cuffs and swung around to Finn's amusement. He grinned the same cheeky smile that gave him his name (Smilin' Finn) as I avoided the gel blobs with ease. The gel cannon finally ran out again and I ran forwards and snagged Madeline's hand before she could dump a pouch of blue powder into the contraption.

"Wha' in th' 'even seas do ye reckon ye doin'? She protested angrily as I raised her to the low ceiling and hooked her hand in the hanging cuffs. She fought against me but ended up getting stuck to the gel on my arm which made hanging her there all the easier. Finn seemed purely amused as I snatched a suit and Madeline couldn't do anything other than hold onto the metal beam with her other hand so as to not pull her hand off from the cuffs. Finn watched as I struggled to get my gel covered arm into the too - small diving gear and silently laughed as I struggled to connect the oxygen tank to the helmet, not knowing how to use the older gear. He laughed as I dived off through the moon pool while he unhooked "Maddie" from the ceiling.

Ant's POV

A figure in a Dark Orca diving suit submerged from the water in the Aronnax's moon pool just as I hopped out of the shadow night that I had escaped in.

"Head back to your ship immediately," I commanded, getting my comm ready to call mom and dad.

"Ok, but I'm already here," Fontaine's cheeky voice emitted from the suit as she popped the front of her helmet open.

"Steal a souvenir from "Pirate Boy"?" I teased her.

"No, they broke my rebreather," Fontaine reason but I just rolled my eyes to annoy her. Mom and Dad walked into the room to find her struggling to get her left arm and head out of the suit though and I stepped back as wood covered bluey- purple gel squeezed out of the arm as the 3 of them worked to remove Fontaine's arm.

"New weapon," she muttered before anyone could ask. Wood coated glue? Odd, but then again pirates were always odd.

Fontaine had to scrub the goo away for a while with different soaps and materials until she found that baking soda made the goo shevil up and go away. Mom quickly sent a message to Professor Fiction to send us a quantity load of baking soda immediately. After a while of teasing Fontiane about Finn with Jeffrey I headed to bed.

A Week Later: Kaiko's POV

"Kaiko, we are getting an incoming transmission from the Dark Orca," Will's voice sighed clearly over my comm.

"Understood, heading to the bridge now," I replied, putting down my tablet from sending anought request for the baking soda that had never arrived. I headed to the bridge wondering why Hammerhead was calling us at almost midnight. Surely no one else was awake on their sub.

"No way, are you out of your mind? I would never in a million years agree to that, are you insane!" Will raged as I entered the bridge.

"Maybe I can change yer mind Nekton," Hammerhead snarled.

"What does he want now," I sighed, just wanting to get to bed already.

"Fontaine, although it's NOT gonna Happen," Will growled, the second part clearly directed at Hammerhead.

"Fontaine?!" I gasped shocked. Will shrugged and Hammerhead simply nodded.

"Aye I 'ave information concernin' th' fact that' she would make a bed'er pirate than me son," Hammerhead grinned.

"We aren't just gonna hand her over," I corrected.

"Aye I thought o' so I loot some captives, 'n no they aren't on me ship, they be hidden away elsewhere," Hammerhead cackled. The screen blurred before it changed to a view of a cluster of tied - up people, I slowly identified them as Professor Fiction (that explained the baking soda), Jess and Bob Gorman, Lester and Griffin, Kenji, Dolos, and Charlie. They looked physically ok, but unhappy, uncomfortable, hungry and sleep deprived.

"What have you done with them!?" Will demanded.

"Locked them up till ye daughter becomes a pirate. So if ye ever wants t' see yer scallywags again, ye will drop ye daughter off 'n she will become a pirate," Hammerhead explained. A new light blinked onto the navigation system, it was on a small island- most likely where Hammerhead expected Fontaine to be dropped off.

"Where are they?" I demanded.

"No way, I be nah tellin' ye. So I expect t' see her tomorrow t' begin her pirate trainin'. Ye 'ave 24 hours Nektons. Oh 'n no funny business, she will nah "accidently" sabotage our missions or alert ye when we do any heists or we shall through yer hearties o'erboard, am I clear?" Hammerhead demanded. Before we could reply or protest though Hammerhead ended the call.

"All Nektons to the bridge, we- have an insuse," I called over the intercom. I raised the volume and repeated until a sleepy Fontaine and a half a sleep Ant stumbled into the room. Even Jeffrey showed up but was half asleep.

"I' mi'nigh'- can't 'e sweep," Ant groaned.

"We have 24 hours to come up with a plan to save Fontaine and our friends from the pirates," I urged.

"Fontaine?" Ant asked a bit more alert.

"Mee?" Fontaine groaned.

"Umm, how do I put this?" I sighed.

"They are holding Professor Fiction, Jess and Bob, Lester and Griffin, Kenji, Dolos, and Charlie captive until Fontaine becomes a pirate. We only have 24 hours to do something," Will explained.

"Professor Fiction? Griffin! JESS! Pirate!" Ant yelled suddenly fully awake.

"Charlie? Jess? Wait me, pirate?!" Fontaine screamed, finally aware of what was happening.

"Yes, they somehow captured some of our friends and are holding them somewhere. The oddest part is that Hammerhead is demanding that Fontaine become one of his pirates, otherwise our friends go overboard."

"So I play pirate with Hammerhead while you guys find our friends, easy right?" Fontaine volunteered.

"You don't have to do it sweetie, not if there's another choice," I hugged her.

"So where was everyone being held?" Ant asked.

"It was a metal room but unlike any I've seen before on the Dark Orca, it was- more solid, you know: Not falling apart, no duct tape holding the place together, non-flickering lights, metal sheets welded together instead of bolts and screws all over the place, most likely some new head-quarters or something," Will explained.

"Ok so I go aboard and act like I'm becoming a pirate while secretly sabotaging their missions and finding clues to where our friends are," Fontaine offered bravely.

"No sabotaging, one wrong move and our friends are doomed," Will replied as I held Fontaine closer to me.

Ant had been surprisingly silent but he finally spoke up, "What do you think caused Hammerhead to think that your perfect pirate material?"

"Finn, he joked that I was a better pirate than him, Hammerhead must have overheard him or something," Fontaine groaned with annoyance.

"Well that explains one thing, now how to get around the no sabotage rule?" I questioned. Everyone stayed silent before Fontaine blurted out one of the craziest ideas I'd ever heard. (And that was saying a lot)

"A fake treasure hunt!" She declared. "You plant the "ancient treasure" and a few fake shipwrecks in a few predetermined spots where we make "old" maps for with our 3-D printed, maybe singe the edges and smear the ink and soak it in water. Then I swap them out with the real maps that I'll leave behind for you, so while I help Hammerhead get his fake treasure you can rescue the real stuff," Fontaine explained to our confused looks.

"That's risky though, if he catches you or realises something's afoot we're in big trouble," I tried to reason. "Plus how does one plant a wreckage and fake treasure?"

"Erm, barrie some old wooden ship parts, ohh use the 3-D printed to make fake doubloons out of fools gold, the pirates only care about the treasure- surely they wouldn't notice if something's off. Or we could use old shipwrecks that we already removed anything valuable (historically or money wise) and just replant the "treasures" we would have to choose ones that the Dark Orca crew has never seen before though," Fontaine elaborated. I hated the idea but we didn't really have a choice and the clock was ticking, with less than a day to prepare we would have to get everything ready fast.

"Ok, Will you work on locations and maps, Ant your on treasure, I'll work making sure everything looks right and Fontaine you'll oversee the project since it was your idea. Now move people!" I rushed, everyone ran off and started preparing, as I looked over shipwrecks we could move and old and rusted boats that had been thrown away I silently begged that Hammerhead would fall for this.
