"Ay Buddy!" Danny yelled from across the hallway and Steve could see his ear-to-ear smile from a mile away.

"Hey!" Steve greeted as he got up from where he was sitting to embrace Danny in a hug.

"Congratulations, brother! Daddy at last, hm?"

"Yeah" Steve smiled, "You didn't tell me it was gonna be this intense" he chuckled.

"Pff" Danny brushed him off "Nothing Mr. Super SEAL and his badass CIA Agent of a girl can't handle right?" he smiled.

"I gotta tell you man... Catherine? If I didn't think she was badass before, I'm sure as hell gonna be reminded of it every single day now looking at that kid." Steve smiled, still in disbelief "I still can't believe he's here Danny"

"You're gonna be the best dad ever, you got nothing to worry about, buddy." Danny gave him a reassuring pat on the back "So... are you gonna let me meet the little guy, or what?"

"Sure, uncle Danno... let's go" Steve chuckled as he motioned to the door Catherine and Landon were staying in.

"Heeeeeeey Momma!" Danny greeted as he made his way over to the bed to give Catherine a kiss on the cheek "How you feeling? I heard you kicked ass in here?" he smiled.

"Hey Danny" she smiled, clearly exhausted "I'm good, just uh, tired but don't wanna go back to bed in case this is a dream" she chuckled as she reached out a hand to her friend, placing it on his arm. "Thank you for coming"

"Of course, babe! I wouldn't miss it!" he cheered, still shocked at the fact that his best friend managed to get the girl of his dreams pregnant after all.

"Do you wanna hold him?" Catherine offered as she slowly and carefully lifted the baby.

Danny nodded as he reached out his hands "That's your uncle Danno, buddy" Catherine whispered as she handed him over.

"Holy crap" Danny whispered, holding the baby in his arms and looking up at Steve with teary eyes "You did good, man. He's perfect" he smiled, remembering just how perfect Grace was the first time he held her in his arms, just like he is holding Landon now.

"Hey buddy! It's good to finally meet you" he whispered with a smile "I mean... you could've been here like ten years ago you know but uh, you're parents..." he rolled his eyes "you'll find out soon enough" he laughed.

"Alright, alright" Steve exhaled "I guess we deserved that one" he chuckled as he made his over to Catherine and sat down in the chair next to the bed. "You okay? Can I get you anything?" he asked sincerely, reaching his hand out to interlock his fingers with hers.

"No" she smiled tiredly. "I've never felt more like I have everything I need"

"Okay" Steve lifted himself slightly to give her kiss on top of her head.

"Well" Danny interrupted as his phone rang and he held it up for them to see "Sorry guys I gotta take this" he motioned for the door when they heard him answer "Detective Williams? Yeah... okay. On my way, thank you"

Danny had excused himself shortly after, letting them know that they caught a case and he unfortunately had to leave.

It took Steve everything inside of him not to leave with his partner and do what he had done for the past ten year.

"Hey" Catherine whispered softly as she placed her hand on his shoulder and snapped Steve out of his thoughts.

He smiled softly as he placed his hand on top of hers "Hey yourself".

"You wanna hold him?" she offered.

Steve looked at Catherine in delight. He that she knew damn well what he was thinking about – that he had to fight the urge to follow Danny, that he spent too much time thinking about that case and what his team would do. Steve felt guilty that he even thought about leaving his child and the mother of his child on the day their baby was born.

"I would love nothing more" he simply answered as he reached over to hold Landon in his arms.

"Thank you" he whispered, implying so much more than just the handing over of their son.

"I know it's hard Steve" she started sincerely "but, uh,.. you know that case right there" she continued as she pointed to the sleeping baby in his arms "is gonna keep you busy" she smiled, trying to ease the mood.

Steve chuckled, "I don't doubt it"

After minutes of silence Steve looked at a now half asleep Catherine that only had her eyes on the baby in Steve's arms.

He reached over to tuck a strain of hair behind her ear and trailed his fingers down the side of her face.

"You know this is all I ever wanted, right?"

Catherine nodded, unsure of where he was going with this.

"Good." He smiled "Because it is. You. Me. The baby. This is it, Cath. This is so much more than I could've ever dreamed of having with you."

"I love you" she whispered.

"I love you, too." He smiled. "Now all we gotta do is make you a McGarrett as well, hu?" he joked.

"Well, uh, yea.. you know, just let me recover real quick here Commander and I'll be all yours" she smiled back at him.

This was all she ever wanted.
