The council finally finished exercising the demon out of Nashi after another hour. "We've done all we can Makarov" said Jurrah. "Yeah, I know but it wont much comfort to her parents once I tell them" said Makarov sullen as he took a breath and they headed for the waiting room where Natsu and Lucy were waiting. Once they heard the door open, they immediately got to their feet. "Well!" they said immediately as Lucy wiped the tears from her face. The two of them saw that Makarov and the other members had saddened expressions. "Hey,what's with those faces, did you get it out?" asked Natsu. They didn't answer "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY KID!" belted out Natsu. "She's alive Natsu, relax" he said ushering his hands in a downward motion. "Then why do you have those long faces?" asked Lucy. "The demon..it caused more strain on her then we thought it would, we had her transported to the infirmary" "Can we see her?"asked Lucy pleading.
They all nodded their heads as Natsu grabbed her hand and the two of them ran past the council and the other three. They ran until they reached her room and busted into it where Lucy gasped putting a hand over her mouth. Natsu had a blank expression on his face as they looked at her. She was sleeping but she made no indication at all that she heard them. The claw marks all down her arms made Natsu's blood boil as he saw the bruises on her cheek swell up. "Nashi" said Lucy trembling. "We don't know how long she will be like this..that thing took a lot out of her" explained Wendy who had come in behind them. "Is there anything you can tell us? Natsu asked as his voice started to crack. "No, I'm so sorry guys" apologized Wendy getting emotional as she hurried out of the room before she started crying leaving just the three of them for Happy stayed with Erza and Gray. They just stood there looking at her until Lucy slowly walked up to her and took her hand.'
"Please Nashi, you've gotta wake up" Natsu let out a depressed sigh as Lucy gently shook Nashi's arm. "PPllease baby, come on,don't leave us" she started to to shake her arm more. "Luce, stop,stop,stop" he said as she started smacking his body. Breaking down completely , she put her hands to her face as he turned her towards him wrapping an arm around her. She cried into his chest. "Natsuuuu,we can't lose her" she cried. "Shhhhh" he cooed. "That's our baby dragon. She's a fighter, she's got our blood. We aren't losing her" She continued to cry. "Lucy" he began to rock her back and fourth as her cries got deeper. " Shh Luce. It will be okay baby" he said comfortingly and compassionately. After a while, she had stopped crying and had them sit against a wall where he had her sitting between his legs against him. "Hey, there's something I need to tell you Luce" he said quietly. "What is it?" she asked,her voice hoarse from crying. "Nashi..she didn't just inherit my magic, she got yours too Lucy."he explained as he watched her face turn into one of shock but not surprise. "I wondered if she was going to get it" "Are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine" she said with a smile. "How did you find that out?" "She opened the gate while we were playing. That's how we got trapped down there in the first place. A demon grabbed us and took us." "This means we will need to watch her more now. Daughter with fire and celestial magic. She's going to be powerful..and wanted." He heard her voice start trembling as he confidently "Nobody will touch her, I promise. This just means you will have to be included in her training." She smiled a little more at him as he grinned his toothy grin at her. "Don't worry Luce. I don't think they are going to come after her now with her age but even if they do""Natsu...with all we've been through. Can you honestly believe nobody will come after her once they discover what she can do?" she questioned hard.
"Baby...you didn't let me finish" he said mildly irritated. "Sorry" "Even if they do as I was saying, she has the entire guild behind her. She's not without protection and most important..." "What?" Lucy said wanting him to finish. Letting out a small laugh, he lightly tapped her head with his fist. "She has us dummy. Her parents, the most powerful celestial wizard in Fiore and me." "the most powerful dragon slayer" Lucy piped in. "Ha, wasn't going to say that but thanks...anyway, we didn't earn those titles for nothing. And when it all comes down to it, you and I will give our lives to protect her which we've proved when that happens that we are at our most powerful..and that right there is why they will never be able to touch her. Having someone to protect can be more frightening to an opponent then just power. I should know, I have two I fight for everyday" Lucy started blushing as he gave her a warm kiss on the cheek. She laid back against him as they watched Nashi waiting for her to wake up.
Hours went by before Erza and Happy came to check on them as she slowly opened the door to see Natsu and Lucy sleeping side by side next to Nashi. "Seems like things are covered here"said Erza kindly as Happy nodded his head in agreement as she closed the door and they went to the guild. It wasn't long after that Natsu's ears picked up noise as he woke up to see Nashi stirring. "Luce, Luce, wake up" he said shaking her arm as she rubbed her eyes but widened as she saw Nashi stir. They both watched as she rolled her head back and fourth before rubbing her eyes and slowly opened them. "NASHI" they screamed happily as she looked at them. "Ddaddy, mmmommy" she asked groggily. "Yes, baby it's us" assured Lucy as they both kissed her all over her face. "SSsorrry daddy. I didn't mean to cause you pain" she apologized. "Oh,my baby dragon. You have nothing to apologize for. You did nothing wrong" he kissed her hands in response
She grimaced in pain for the pain from her wounds begun to hit her. "Hold on baby, Wendy!" Natsu called out. She came a few minutes later. "Thank goodness she's awake" she said with a smile. "Wendy, is there anything you can do about the scratches?" "I'm not sure what my magic can do because they were made from a demon but I can try" she told them as she looked at a stressed Lucy holding her daughter's hand. She walked over and placed her hands over Nashi and began to uses her healing magic on her. Natsu put a hand on Lucy's shoulder as they both held their breathes hoping with all their hearts that Nashi wouldn't have scars. "There" said Wendy after a minute. They looked and breathed a sigh of relief for the scars were gone as Lucy laid her head against Natsu's arm in exhaustion and happiness. "Can we take her home Wendy?"asked Natsu. "Sure" she answered positively. Nashi threw the blanket off her and jumped into Natsu's arms as him and Lucy laughed. "Ready to go Iggy?" he asked cheerfully. "Ohh yess daddy!" she answered excited as Lucy grabbed Natsu's hand as they walked by Wendy who was happy for them and relieved everything turned out good. "Alright, where do we want to go?, home or the guild?" asked Natsu looking at girls. "Hmm" they said as Natsu laughed for them having the same thinking face. "The guild!" they said in unison. "Hahaha, alright then the guild it is: and they walked to the guild
Once they got there, she scrambled out of Natsu's hands and ran. "Aunt Erza, uncle Gray!" she yelled as they turned around and smiled as Gray picked her up. "Hey munchkin!" he greeted with a kind smile as Erza did the same. "Nashi!" "Happy!" he flew at her as she grabbed him and hugged him making everyone aww and laugh. Lucy and Natsu made their way over as Gray and Erza waved at them. "Hey guys"greeted Natsu. "Hey yourself" greeted Gray. "So come to find out, little dragon here has inherited her mothers celestial magic" Erza and Gray's jaws dropped as they looked at her and then back to him and Lucy. "Yup..guess this means I have to watch and make sure she doesn't open anymore unwanted gates" he said amused. "Huh?" "Yeahh..she accidentally opened the gate to hell somehow. That's how we ended up there..don't worry Iggy, your alright so get that sad look off your face" he urged nicely as he watched her sad expression disappear. "Hey, you guys want to go for a walk with us?" asked Lucy. "We haven't all been on a walk in a long time. "Sure" answered Gray. "That sound's great" replied Erza. "Let's go: said Natsu hyped up as Nashi jumped down from Gray's arms to grab Natsu and Lucy's hands. "Aye!" said Happy as they all walked out with smiles on their faces as everyone in the guild watched them with joy. They had made it a few feet from the guild but as they were walking, a group of of people in cloaks were walking by when Natsu bumped into them. One of them gave him a strange look as Natsu saw what looked like a fire dragon symbol on their cloaks but couldn't get a good look. "Sorry" he apologized as he heard "Daddy!" "Coming!" he yelled back as he gave the group a nice smile as he ran to catch up with his family.
" Do you think it's him?. The dragon slayer?" one of the people cloaked asked. "he had that red symbol on his arm" "We will look into him. And then if it is him, we can set our plan in motion to get rid of that abomination that would disgrace our fire god. The fire dragon.
