"Ah the whole Gibbs family how nice." Mary said.
"Hello Mary nice to see you again." Gibbs said.
Tony stood nervously in the doorway.
"Ah yes the last time I saw you, you had a son."
"Still have." Gibbs said and points at Tony.
"But he is a young man? Your son was little you said you adopted him. He called you daddy." Mary said confused.
Gibbs laughed. "I think you got the conversation confused. Yes I adopted Tony. This Tony. The little boy who is also called Tony is a nephew from Tony's real family. He stayed with me that week. Also like a grandson to my father and a friend of mine from work. He followed Tony all day and mimics what he says. When I took him here Tony had to work. The little guy can be shy sometimes."
Tony knew now where the conversation was going and decided to play along. "Haha was that the time you told me about and that he called you daddy?" Tony laughed.
"Yes I think he followed you a little bit too much." Gibbs said with a smile. "He never had a real father figure so when he stayed with us he mimics Tony." Gibbs told Mary.
"Oh how sad but also sweet. Where is he now." Mary asked. She believed the story.
"Italy. His mother lives there." Tony said.
"Oh so your family is from Italy. Why are you here then and not with your family?" Mary asked.
"I am with my family ma'm. My father and grandfather are standing right here." Tony said trying to keep his angry tone inside.
"Mary you got your answers. Now do you want to buy something? Otherwise I would ask you to leave, it's time for lunch." Jackson said.
"Oh uhm no. I will go. Thank you for the clarification." Mary said and left. Jackson quickly closed the store.
They all let out a heavily breath. "Oh my god she actually believed it." Tony said.
"That woman. She got her answers and still she could be so tactless to ask Tony that question." Jackson said angry.
Gibbs ruffled Tony's hair. "You did good son. I am proud of you." Gibbs said and gave him a hug.
"Thanks dad."
"Come on you two let's eat lunch." Jackson said.
They both nodded and followed him. A couple of minutes later they were almost finished.
"Tony did you take a painkiller?" Jackson asked curiously.
"Uhm when?" Tony asked confused.
"He did dad when he was in the garage with me. Why do you ask?" Gibbs said.
"Tony looked confused when he stepped inside the store and it looked like he had a headache. Doctor Simon was also in the store and told me to call him if we needed him."
"I am fine really. No need to call him. I had a flashback that was why." Tony told him.
"A flashback when? What was it about?" Jackson asked.
"I saw Peter. You know Mary's grandson. I had a flashback when I was little and played with him."
Jackson nodded in understanding.
"You know Oscar told me a story today that you were very strict with dad grandpa." Tony said with a smile.
"Did he now. Well I had to or he got into trouble. You know your dad went to school with their parents?"
"Yeah dad told me. But uhmm you know with this whole family thing and all and the truth I Uhmm ..." Tony stuttered.
"Let me guess. You want to know if I am strict with you now because your friends told you about their parents." Gibbs asked and Tony nodded.
"Well I think a couple of rules would be good for you. It will help you but it will also protect you." Gibbs said and Jackson nodded approvingly.
"Do I have to ask permission if I want to do something because I am an adult you know." Tony asked.
Gibbs stared at him. "What is it you want to do Tony?"
"I go the pub tonight with Bruce and Oscar. Maybe the others are there also."
"The pub? To drink?" Jackson asked.
"Uhmm yeah grandpa that is kind of the point in a pub."
"Don't get smart with me young man. You had a fell yesterday and a flashback today. Not to mention you had a headache. I don't think drinking is so good idea."
"And I don't have one now. Anyway I was just telling you both to let you know I was out tonight and don't know how late I will be back. So don't stay up for me." Tony said and rolled his eyes.
"You role your eyes at me one more time young man and you stay inside for the rest of the week." Jackson said sternly.
Tony stood up angry. "You can't be serious! You told me to talk to you, I do it and it's not good enough. What is that you want from me? I am trying. I am an adult!"
"Stop shouting. I am sitting right here." Jackson said calmly and looked at his son. Tony was high in his emotions.
"Dad." Gibbs said and gave his father a look. "Tony come on outside. Let's talk there." Tony gave Jackson one last look before he went outside.
"Leroy that kid..."
"Is trying. He is right." Gibbs said.
"I am just concerned.."
"I know. You just have to be carful how you say some thing to him. Think about it. I will go outside and talk about the attitude."
"Are you giving me now a time-out son?" Jackson said with a smirk.
"Think about it and you know." Gibbs laughed.
—————————————
Tony was pacing up and down in the garden. He was angry but also angry at himself for the emotions he felt. He could feel the prickling behind his eyes. He would not cry about something like this.
"Tony, son sit down." Gibbs said softly.
Tony shook his head no. If he sat down now he would lost it. "I'm good".
"I want you to know that I am proud of you to tell us this out of yourself."
"Yeah? Jackson didn't think so." Tony said angry.
Tony didn't felt safe enough anymore if he got this kind of reaction for something he tries to do. Gibbs noticed this. He called his father Jackson again instead of grandpa.
"He is too. Believe me. He is just concerned and the conversation didn't come out right I gave you that."
"He was treating me like a kid. A little kid." Tony said angry.
"He said something about your attitude and the conversation got out of hand. There is a difference Tony believe me I know. I had these kind of conversation a lot when I was younger."
"So nothing changed?"
"Why is this doing you so much Tony? Emotionally I mean." Gibbs asked suddenly.
"If you don't know. How will I know. I don't know." Tony said frustrated.
"Come sit down son." Gibbs said again and puts an arm around his shoulder. Tony first tensed up. Gibbs could feel it and that made him a little concerned but Tony followed him and sat down. The first tears left his eyes. Gibbs held Tony in his arms trying to comfort him.
"Why the tears Tony?" Gibbs asked softly when Tony stopped crying and was just sniffing.
"I don't know. When grandpa said that, my emotions... I don't know. I don't want this. I don't know why it happened. I just felt it."
"I think your emotions are a little bit confused right now. Maybe because of the flashback you had today. You felt two emotions. One of the kid and one of the adult. Maybe a combination..." Gibbs tried to reason.
"I didn't mean to role my eyes at him dad. I was just telling you about tonight. But then he... and then I felt this. I don't know where it came from."
"I think you both need to apologize to each other and explain yourselves." Gibbs said. Tony nodded.
"What about tonight?" Tony asked.
Gibbs thought for a moment. "Well I share my father's concern but I think you deserve to have some fun and you told us what you want to do tonight. But..."
"Oh boy here it comes."
"I will give you options. One I go with you. You can do what you want but I keep an eye on you from inside."
"Oh no no non please no."
"Two you have your cellphone with you all the time and you call me the moment you feel not fine or something is wrong or have some concerns."
"Yes yes option two."
"Alright but remember. If I found out you didn't call me but something was wrong or you didn't answer your phone when I called you, you will find out the other consequences. Is that clear?"
"Yes yes I understand. Thank you thank you." Tony said happy and stood up.
"Alright but first you have to talk with your grandpa." Gibbs said. Tony nodded and walked inside to talk to him.
——————————-
"Hey Tony you made it." Bruce said.
"Yeah wouldn't miss it. Beer?" Tony asked.
"Sure."
"Hey Tony you here." Oscar said as he came with Mills and Fred. They said their hello's and Tony gave them a beer.
The atmosphere was good. Everyone had fun and were dancing. A hour after midnight a man stepped inside.
"Bruce look who is here." Mills said. Max was walking to them.
"Max what brings you here?" Bruce asked.
Max raised an eyebrow. "The last time I knew we were friends and now I found out you go to the pub without inviting me." Max pushed some of the group aside.
"Why is he here? Again! Find your own friends!" Max yelled at Tony.
"They invited me. Maybe you should turn around and go to bed. I think you had already enough to drink." Tony said calmly.
"He is right Max. Go home." Bruce said.
"How dare you! Traitors!" Max said and starts to fight all of his "friends" and Tony. Soon the whole pub was fighting with each other and sirens were heard. Everyone ran away unfortunately Max, Bruce, Oscar, Mills, Fred and Tony got arrested.
————————————-
"Simon" the doctor said through the phone.
"Hey doc this is the sheriff, sorry to call you so late but there was a bar fight and 6 guys here got arrested." Sheriff Thomason said.
"Let me guess you called me because some of them got hurt."
"Yeah some cuts and bruises. I think it would be wise to look them over by a doc".
"I will be right there."
"Simon."
"Yeah?"
"Your nephew is one of the arrested boys."
Simon sighs and shook his head. "They will never grown up. I will be there as soon as I can."
————————————————
"Gibbs." Gibbs said. He was still awake. Waiting for Tony.
"Dad?"
"Tony? Is something wrong?" Gibbs asked concerned.
"There Uhmm.. there was a fight.. uhm.. a bar fight and Uhmm... I got arrested."
"YOU GOT WHAT!" Gibbs yelled.
Tony flinched at the tone and the sheriff took over.
"Hello Jethro? This is sheriff Thomason. As you heard from your son he got arrested. I need you to come down to the station."
"I will be right there." Gibbs said angry and hang up.
———————————-
"Well Well isn't that Leroy Jethro Gibbs. So the rumors were true." Bruce father said and gave Gibbs a hand with a smile.
The father's of Max, Mills and Fred were also here.
"I got a feeling we are back in time. But this time it not us but our sons." Mills father said with a laugh.
"If I look at this picture then it's safe to say the apple didn't fall that far from the tree." Simon said as he enters the station.
"Doc what are you doing here? One of our boys got hurt?" Bruce father asked.
"Some cuts and bruises the sheriff told me. Wants me to take a look to be sure and besides my nephew is here also." Simon said and sighs. His little brother died 10 years ago in line of duty. Since then he had taken care of his nephew. It scared him sometime how alike is nephew and little brother were.
"Well I got a flashback when I had the opportunity to call you all. Now you all can experience what your fathers had to go through. Doc glad you could make it so fast. This way." The sheriff said.
"Well he didn't changed." Fred's father said and everyone laughed.
A hour later Simon came back with Oscar. "Nobody was hurt badly. Bruce has a bruised rib so he needs to be careful so it could heal. Max has a wound on his right arm I had to stitch it. Tony stitches broke so he has new once and bruised his right hand. Mills has a black eye and Fred bruised his left ankle."
"Thanks doc of looking them over." Mills father said.
"No problem. It's my job. Now if you excuse me I need to take my nephew home." Oscar looked ashamed and followed his uncle to the car outside.
A couple of minutes later the sheriff came to speak to them. "They all can go home. They all have to pay for the damage. Pitch ( father of Max) I need to talk to you in private for a moment. Charles here will bring your kids to you. Gibbs tried to listen what was said between the sheriff and Pitch but it was difficult, soon Charles came with the kids.
————————————
"You got arrested! Seriously? What the hell happend?" Gibbs asked in the car ride home.
"A bar fight I said that already. So those were your friends when you were a kid?" Tony asked.
"Don't change the subject." Gibbs warned.
Tony sighs. "There was an argument and one pushed one other and came against an other guy who pushed an other guy... you know a bar fight."
"Tony.." Gibbs warned. Gibbs stopped the car and went outside. Gibbs leads him to the garage.
"What is Max story in this? Why did he had to stay behind?"
Tony rolled his eyes. "He had too much to drink and he started the fight."
"What was the argument about? Why didn't you walk away? You know better."
"Because I was in the middle of it and it wasn't that easy to walk away if everyone is fighting." Tony said frustrated.
"What are you not telling me?" Gibbs asked he knew Tony was hiding something.
"Nothing this is the story. Can I go to bed now?" Tony asked.
"Yes you can go to bed but you are grounded." Gibbs said when Tony walked away.
Tony turned around. "Excuse me? I could not prevent it!"
"No but back talking to a police officer you could. Besides you are not telling me something so you could think about that. Now go upstairs." Gibbs said sternly and Tony walked angry to his room.
————————-
"You know how much you look like your father?" Doctor Simon said to his nephew.
"Why are you saying that?" Oscar asked curiously. His uncle was cleaning his wounds.
"The father's of your friends you saw had the same habit as you have with your friends. Always in trouble. Your father was their friend."
"Even mr Pitch?"
"Yes I thought they were. What happend in the pub Oscar?" Simon asked as he sat down in the front of him.
"Max had too much to drink. He was angry. We had a fight yesterday so we weren't talking to him. He was angry Tony was with us. He didn't like him."
"He is jealous? What happened yesterday?"
Oscar looked around. He didn't want to tell him. It was not big but it was kinda like a secret no one talked about.
Simon puts two fingers under Oscar's chin. "Look at me when I talk to you. Tell me the truth."
Oscar sighs. "We were one player short and Tony was already on the basketball court. He was good so we asked him to play with us. Max already didn't like it because we didn't knew him. Bruce, Mills and Tony were on one team and they were winning. Tony was good. Max didn't like it and hated him. He bumped hard against Tony so he got the ball. That was when we had enough of Max attitude and he got angry we defended Tony."
"So Tony didn't just fell yesterday?" Simon asked.
"No he fell because Max pushed him. Today we invited Tony and not Max and that was why he got angry."
"So you lied yesterday about what happend and let me believe he just fell and today you got arrested? Oscar I am very disappointed in you."
"I didn't lie. He did fell!"
"Because he was pushed. If you want to help in my office I need to know what happend to my patients. I need to trust you if you bring a patient to me with the good and real story." Simon said.
Oscar looked shocked. His uncle was disappointed in him. "I am sorry uncle Simon. It won't happend again."
"I hope not. You are grounded for one week. Now up. Time for bed. And don't argue with me."
Oscar stood up ashamed and went to bed. Simon sat in the living room thinking about what Oscar said. He was sure Jethro Gibbs didn't knew the whole story.
