"Camping?" Tony asked shocked as he cleaned the table after dinner.

"Yep camping. It would be good." Gibbs said.

"Uhm I don't think you had noticed but I am not really a camping type. You go with your old buddies. I will stay here with grandpa." Tony said.

"I think taking you with him was the point Tony of the camping trip." Jackson said with a smile.

"Yes. Father's with their sons. Oscar and Bruce will also be there." Gibbs said.

"Voluntarily?"

Gibbs rolled his eyes. "Yes Tony and so will you. Time for some nature." Gibbs said and stood up to leave the kitchen.

Tony looked at Jackson. "He can't be serious can he?"

"I think he is. I think you beter go to bed early if you want some sleep." Jackson said with a smile and stood up to sit in the living room.

————————————-

"It's too early." Tony said as they stepped out of the car.

"Stop complaining and get your bag." Gibbs said.

A door suddenly opened. "Ah the Gibbs man are here. Now we can go, take your bags." Josh said to the others inside.

"Hey Josh sorry we are late. Somebody had some trouble getting out of bed." Gibbs said and gave Tony a stern look.

Tony rolled his eyes. Bruce and Oscar walked to him. "Glad I am not the only one." Bruce said and Oscar giggles.

"Well it must be your father's idea because I am sure it wasn't my uncles idea." Oscar said.

"Nope my father is to blame. I don't know what's got into him. I never liked camping." Bruce said.

"Put a former marine into his plan and we got this situation." Tony finished.

"Are you all done complaining. Time to go." Josh said. The boys rolled their eyes but soon followed.

——————————

After a 6 hour hike they arrived at their destination. "Well this is a good camping spot." Josh said.

"I agree with you Josh." Gibbs said.

"It's a beautiful place." Simon said.

"My feet are killing me." Tony mumbled. Gibbs heard it and gave him a headslap. Simon looked shocked and Oscar and Bruce giggled.

"Oww what was that for?" Tony asked.

"You know what for it was. Now help me with the tent." Gibbs said firmly. Tony rubbed his head and helped Gibbs.

Josh sighs when he saw Bruce sitting down on the ground. "Bruce you make yourself useful and find some fire wood." Josh said strict and gave him a warning look if he complained.

Simon and Oscar were quietly putting up their tent while watching the father and sons interact.

"Tony go help him." Gibbs said.

"Uhmm I will go with them." Oscar said to Simon.

Soon the boys were gone into the woods.

They others sat down as they finished their tents. "Oscar was shocked when I told him we were going camping. He looked at me if I was crazy." Simon said.

"Yeah but it will do the boys good. My father always told me it was good for the bonding between father and sons. You will teach them something." Josh said.

"Don't worry. Tony also looked at me if I was crazy. Told me to go if I wanted he would stay with his grandfather." Gibbs said with a smile and the others laughed.

"So I see only Bruce got some experience with camping. You think they will be fine in the woods?" Simon asked worriedly.

"They will be fine. Bruce knows what he is doing and Tony may never camped before but he has survival skills." Gibbs said.

"Survival skills? How did he got them. He followed a class?" Josh asked curiously.

"Nope. Tony is also an agent. He got some skills from there. The other survival skills he learned over the years."

"His childhood." Simon said. Gibbs told him before Tony didn't had a happy childhood. He now noticed the signs.

"Yep" Gibbs said. "It's good to see him having a good time with new friends. I brought him to Stillwater to take his mind of things and to relax."

"I am sorry to hear he didn't had a good childhood. He is lucky to have you Jethro. I think he is relaxed enough if he puts up with those two and get arrested." Josh finished with a laugh.

Suddenly they heard laughing coming out of the woods and the boys walking to them. "You guys are crazy!" They heard Oscar yell.

"It was harmless." Tony laughed.

"It was a snake Tony!" Oscar said hysterically.

"A harmless snake. It's more scared of you then you for him." Bruce said while laughing.

"Yes it's not a bear or something." Tony said.

Simon stood up immediately when he heard the word snake. "A snake! Are you hurt?"

The boys put down the firewood. Oscar looked now ashamed when he heard his uncle. Both Tony and Bruce laughed.

"I uhm I am fine uncle Simon. Just a prank. It was harmless." Oscar said.

"See you are learning." Tony said as he clapped Oscar on the shoulder and Bruce laughed with tears in his eyes.

Gibbs and Josh shook their heads. Boys will be boys.

"Bruce come on time to fish. We need food." Josh said as he stood up. Bruce soon followed.

Gibbs and Tony kept themselves busy with the fire. Gibbs was teaching him how to make the perfect fire.

Simon sat by the tent watching. He liked how Josh and Gibbs interact with their sons. Suddenly Oscar sat besides him.

"What's on your mind?" Oscar asked as he gave him a beer.

"Shouldn't that be mine question?" Simon asked amused.

"I am not the one who dragged us to this camping trip. We never camped before. We don't even know what we are doing. And now you are staring at nothing. So I think it should be mine question." Oscar said as he took a sip.

Simon ruffled his hair. "Since when did you get so smart? I am not staring I am observing."

"Observing what?" Oscar asked as he now also looked around. Josh and Bruce had caught a fish and Tony and Gibbs had made fire.

"Them. Like you are doing now." Simon said as he watched Oscar.

"I am not following. Has it something to do with the arrest? Is that why we are here?"

"Some. It made me realize something. I may be your guardian but I was never a good father figure like they are. The arrest was the first real thing you did that got you in some real trouble. And at the station I was first a doctor before I could have my focus on you. And at home I made a mistake when I talked to you and grounded you." Simon said.

Oscar looked shocked before he shook his head. "What are you talking about? You are teaching me stuff like they do. Not the same things but things. And you are always looking out for me. And because I was a little rattled after the grounding doesn't mean you are not a good father figure. You raised my father up to the man he was and you are doing the same for me."

"It's good to hear that from you but that doesn't mean I didn't need help to understand what I did wrong after the grounding. Jethro helped me understand something and it was Josh idea to this camping trip so we could spend some time together we never had and we could learn from each other." Simon said.

"Well it never could be easy for you uncle Simon. But tell you something all parents ask for advice once or twice. You are a good uncle who is teaching me to follow his footsteps and you're a great second dad." Oscar said with a smile.

Simon smiled a warmly smile and hugged Oscar. Tony and Gibbs looked at them and smiled. They knew that sometimes talking about things helped.

"Hey guys we got some fish." Bruce said with a smile.

"I hope the fire is on because I don't know about you but I am hungry." Josh said.

"Yes it's ready." Tony said. They all sat by the fire watching as they put the fish on it. Soon it was ready and they were eating it.

"I never thought I would say this but it's delicious." Oscar said and Simon agreed.

"I am glad." Josh said with a smile and soon they were finished. They lay in the grass enjoying the silence of the nature.

Tony sat up. "I am hot. I think I am going for a swim who is with me? " Tony said as he stood up.

"Yep I am following you." Oscar said excited.

"I will run you to it." Bruce said and quickly stood up.

"Hey wait a minute." Tony said and ran after Bruce. Oscar soon followed. The adults laughed as the kids fell into the water they hadn't thought it was that deep. Soon the boys were pushing each other under water and laughed to caught each other.

The adults watched for a moment before they decided to follow to take a swim.

The evening came and it was getting colder. They changed in warm clothes and sat by the fire for a couple of hours telling funny stories.

It was midnight and Tony barely slept. He kept hearing noises. He was tossing and turning hoping to get some sleep but nothing was working and now he had to pee. Tony sighs but careful and softly he got out of his sleeping bag and got out of the tent hoping he did not wake up Gibbs.

A couple of minutes later Tony got back in the tent. "What's going on Tony?" Gibbs asked Tony softly.

"I had to pee".

Gibbs turned to him and raised an eyebrow. "I got that. Why can't you sleep?"

Tony sighs of course Gibbs noticed everything. "A lot of different noises."

"That is nature".

"Yeah I got that. The point of camping right." Tony said and turned around facing the other side of the tent. "I will try to sleep now."

Gibbs looked concerned at him. "You are safe here Tony." He said softly.

"I know." Tony whispered. "Night" he said before he closed his eyes.
