Chapter 6
Welcome to Petalclan and meeting Leafpaw
It took awhile for Reaperpaw to recover but once he was sufficiently recovered he got to meet the clan that rescued him. He saw the nursery and heard the kits inside witch made feel sadness, he saw the warriors den and the apprentices den. That's when he saw a pretty orange and white tabby she-cat come out of the apprentices den. "Oh hi! Are you the apprentice that Birchstar told us about? I'm Leafpaw! What's your name?" He remembered that Mothclaw was scared of his name so he came up with a new name. "I'm Nightpaw. Nice to meet you Leafpaw." Then with Leafpaw in tow he was shown the elder's den. "Is that the new apprentice?" Said a graying fluffy calico. "It is Petalrunner, his name is Nightpaw." Said Mothclaw. "Well met Petalrunner." Said Reaperpaw dipping his head. He was then led to to leader's den. It was at the base of the biggest willow tree he'd ever seen. Out of the den came a white she-cat with blue eyes. As she approached Leafpaw bowed her head Reaperpaw was confused but copied Leafpaw "Greetings Mothclaw, how is he?" She asked indicating Reaperpaw. "He's well enough to join the clan and train to be warrior if he wants." The white she-cat dipped her head to Mothclaw then looked at Reaperpaw. "Young apprentice what is your name?" "My name is Nightpaw." He said keeping his head bowed as he spoke. "Well met young Nightpaw, I'm Birchstar leader of Petalclan. Do you wish to join us?" He thought about what his dad told him and nodded his head "Yes I'd like to join Petalclan." Birchstar nodded her head and jumped on to a branch and yowled. "Let all cats old enough to hunt join me under the high branch for a clan meeting!" He watched as warriors made a half circle around the branch and watched as Leafpaw joined her mentor beneath the high branch. "Mothclaw has been taking care of the cat that Maplenose's patrol found when the river flooded. This cat now wishes to join our clan as an apprentice. Let us welcome Nightpaw to the clan." Reaperpaw heard the voices of cats welcoming him to the clan, the loudest voice being Leafpaw. "Falconwind, you are ready for an other apprentice, I hope you continue Nightpaw's training and pass on your swiftness and your bravery" "Yes Birchstar." Said a brown tom with rusty brown eyes as he approached Reaperpaw. "Welcome young Nightpaw." He said touching Reaperpaw's nose with his own. Reaperpaw also touched noses with Falconwind as memories of Berrywing doing the same flashed into his mind. He then followed Faconwind to the half circle as the cats continued to call his name. By the time the ceremony as finished it was getting late so Leafpaw showed him the fresh kill pile and he picked a mouse while Leafpaw picked a squirrel. After they were finished eating they both went to the apprentices den and Reaperpaw found an unused nest and laid down sensing Leafpaw next to him and as he fell asleep he vowed to his old clan that he would return to the forest and take his place as Reaperstar the leader of Duskclan.
