Chestnut's Flight, Feelings Of Love, And Teasing
As his tenth moon passed he started to feel different around Leafpaw, it was a feeling he couldn't describe. He liked hunting with her, training with her, patrolling with her and felt his eyes drawn to her and become distracted. This gave his friends plenty of teasing opportunities and even Ebonykit was asking him if he liked Leafpaw. He had to admit that he did feel protective of her though he never said that out loud, and he thought she was beautiful but again he didn't say that out loud, least his friends got word of it and teased him until he joined starclan. But one quiet day Reaperpaw found himself sitting closer then normal next to Leafpaw as they watched the sunset, content with each other's company. Leafpaw then asked a question about the red half moon on his flank. "Why and how does it glow Nightpaw?" He told her that the forest he lived in had some kind magic to it that effected his clan to give them powers. He also told her his powers and hoped she wouldn't be scared of him, but his fears were unfounded as she nuzzled his cheek and he felt brave enough to tell her his real name. She didn't understand what a reaper was but after he explained it to her then she nodded and with one last nuzzle went back to watching the sunset. The next day found him waking up next to Leafpaw as usual and went patrolling with Falconwind, Otterpaw, Chestnutpaw and his mentor Bouldernight a stocky, fluffy black tom. All was peaceful until some rouges attacked and they were the same ones that killed his clan. He was fighting for his life with Otterpaw backing him up, they were fighting the same white tom that he'd chased off three moons ago, Falcondwind was fighting a silver tabby tom, Bouldernight was fighting a gray tabby she-cat and Chestnutpaw was fighting a big bracken colored tom. The white tom was chased off and Reaper found himself fighting a cream tom with brown points and saw Chestnutpaw get kicked into a tree only for Chestnutpaw to springboard off the branch he was on and crash into the bracken tom with claws outstretched. Reaperpaw was amazed as it looked like Chestnutpaw took flight. The patrol managed to chase off the rouges and went to tell Birchstar what happened, she was impressed by everyone's effort to chase off the rouges. Reaperpaw, Otterpaw and Chestnutpaw were praised highly as she told them they'd make great warriors someday. And so feeling proud they all shared prey by the tree stump near the apprentices den.
