"Amazing, " Fyers compliments. "Your resolve is stronger than I have given you credit for." Edward studies Oliver's face before briefly pointing at the man behind him with the picture, "perhaps he truly doesn't know anything...yes." Fyers walks to the tent entrance, "put him out of his misery."
Fyers collapses to the floor when one of his mercenaries is thrown through the door. Yao Fei storms through the entrance knocking an arrow and fires at Oliver restraints releasing him. His second is aimed at the mask man's head but he catches the arrow before his face and snaps the wood with his thumb.
The assassin draws his sword and strikes at Yao Fei which he parrys with his bow. The assassin is relentless, giving no ground as he strikes at Yao Fei, all of which the archer blocks. Spinning Yao Fei smacks the assassin's knee dropping him to the floor.
The assassin grabs Yao Fei during his fall and flips the archer over him. Yao Fei escapes the man's hold and jumps back onto his feet already shifting his stance for the next attack.
They come together once more with the assassin being more aggressive than before. Yao Fei only just manages to evade a swipe at his abdomen before swivelling on his feet dodging the strike at his chest. Yao Fei counters block the blade with his bow before twisting the assassin's arm thrusting the sword away from him.
Yao Fei grabs the assassin's wrist and flips him but the masked man easily uses the momentum to land on his feet. Yao Fei drops to the floor wrapping his legs around the masked man's thigh rolling forwards and launching the man across the tent.
The assassin is getting back into his feet when Yao Fei smacks his bow across the man's face. While the assassin is down Yao Fei grabs Oliver and runs out the tent. Two mercenaries run around the corner aiming their assault rifles at them, Yao Fei rapidly fires two arrows killing them both.
With the path now clear and the other mercenaries unconscious by Yao Fei earlier, they hastily disappear into the forest. Yao Fei has to support Oliver as he is too weak from the torture, the playboy looks like he's about to pass out.
Arriving at the cave Yao Fei lays Oliver on this cot and leans over grabbing a small pouch. "I tell you island dangerous but you did not tell them anything. You are stronger than I first thought." Yao Fei gives Oliver the pouch, "take his, it will help."
Oliver stares at Yao Fei unfocused, "what…? Where you going?" Oliver asked as Yao Fei walks back to the entrance.
"I lead them away. You stay here. Recover," Yao Fei said before hastily running out of the cave.
Oliver climbs off the cot after Yao Fei but faceplants the ground and cries out in pain, landing on his lacerations. A large boulder falls down blocking the entrance.
Moira turns on the Television to watch a show when it's interrupted by breaking News, the presenter looks solemn. "It's been a week since the Queen's Gambit crossed the ocean in a category two storm and haven't been heard or sighted since. The Queen's Gambit along with its crew, billionaire CEO Robert Queen, his son Oliver Queen are presumed dead."
Moira collapses onto sofa tears pouring from her eyes as the television remote falls from her hands, going up covering her mouth.
Moira's brought out of her clouded mind by Thea's young shaky voice, "dad...Ollie." Thea falls against the door frame, "oh god…" Thea runs upstairs to her room and slams the door, not to be seen for days.
Thirty minutes later the front door bell goes off and Moira gets up from the sofa wiping her tears away as she walks to the door. Opening the door to the harbour quartermaster, "Mrs Queen there is something you should know."
"If this is about my Husband and son then I already know!" Moira nearly shouts.
"No Mrs Queen," the quartermaster hesitates, "I saw a young woman with brown hair sneak onto the boat…I believe she was Sara Lance." Moira looks off into the distance. "I'm so sorry." The quartermaster leaves shortly afterwards and Moira continues to stand in the doorway for a few moments before realising the quartermaster has left.
Moira closes the door and goes to the drink stand in the lounge and pours herself a large whiskey. How was she going to tell the Lance's of Sara's death?
In the Glades at the same time Emiko Adachi is standing by her television as she burns a picture of herself and her father together before moving onto the Queen's Gambit blueprints.
"The Queen's Gambit along with its crew, billionaire CEO Robert Queen, his son Oliver Queen are presumed dead." Emiko's head snaps to the screen at hearing her brother's name. The blueprints disintegrate as it falls from her fingers as she collapses into a chair, Oliver wasn't meant to be on the boat. Emiko's hands go to her face, what had she done? She's gotten her brother killed.
Oliver has been sleeping by the fire pit in the cave for days. Slowly supporting himself with an arm Oliver opens the brown book near the fire and notices words starting to fill the pages. He's perplexed, how is this possible?
Suddenly he's grabbed on the shoulder and pulled around, Oliver stares at his father's face in shock before shrugging off his hand. He shuffles quickly to the over side of the cave on his butt, his eyes never leaving the other's. "dad? How…"?"
"What are you doing!?" Robert Queen shouts at his son, "I gave up my life so you can live. You just waste my sacrifice like this, get a grip of yourself!"
"I'm not like you, I'm not as strong as you," Oliver replied weakly.
"I say once again, I begged you to survive," Robert said in anger. Reaching into the back of his trousers Robert pulls out a pistol, "if you can't, there's one left...but do this and my death is meaningless."
Oliver takes the gun, "I'm gonna die. I'm starving and have no water. I want this to be over quickly, painlessly."
"You can survive," Robert encourages quietly.
"I can't survive this, I'm not as strong as you think I am. " Oliver's emotions are running wild. "I'm sorry but I can't," Oliver puts the gun to his temple and pulls the trigger but the gun clicks and nothing happens. "Of course not," Oliver said angrily, throwing the gun at the ground, "I'm dreaming."
"Yet if you weren't...you betrayed me, my sacrifice." Robert said coldly. "I died for you but you'd throw that gift away."
"I'll never be strong like you," Oliver confesses.
"I'm not as strong as you think I am, the man you think I am. The things I've done, what I was going to do." Robert turns and walks away.
Oliver reaches out, "Dad…? Dad? What does that mean?"
"I told you! I told you to use it to fix everything!" Roberts shouts swiftly turning back to Oliver, "I gave you that book. I begged you to right my wrongs."
"How?" Oliver asked confused. "I'm stranded on this island."
"It's your responsibility now," Robert declares. He reaches out holding Oliver's shoulders, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth, who I really was. I haven't been the best man or truly faithful…" Robert's eyes become wider, "I hope you know that I love you." Oliver nods and Robert disapperates in front of him.
Oliver launches upright as his eyes fly open and he quickly scans the room for his father, to no avail. Oliver removes the book from his pocket and opens it up, holding the book above the dying flames. Holding the book up Oliver stares at the book like it's fantasy and studies the book before quickly flipping pages in amazement. "My responsibility," Oliver quotes his father. "I promise dad."
