Oliver looks up at footsteps stopping at the side of his cage and sees Yao Fei standing side on. "You're one of them now?" Yao Fei stares back blank. " We're friends...or something. Why?" Oliver questions his voice lowering at the end. Yao Fei gives a small subtle nod. "Why did you keep me safe? Just to hand me over to them?" Oliver almost growls, anger starting to show.

"I had no choice." Yao Fei finally speaks up, placing a cup of water that barely fit between the bars. "You should take this opportunity to drink. You won't get much." Yao Fei turns and starts to walk away before stopping turning back to Oliver side on, "when you infiltrate someplace, you should change your tone of voice...and your accent." He sets off once more.

"Hey, don't leave me here!" Oliver pleads. "Hey, I came back for you! Like you did for me!" Yao Fei slows down between the trees before disappearing into the wilderness. Oliver, angry and rather stupidly shoves the cup of water away, falling onto the floor. The area is alight with flames in large braziers made from metal barrels.

Night time forty eight hours later Yao Fei returns with an assault rifle in hand and opens up the cage door. Grabbing Oliver, Yao Fei drags him out the cage and through the detainment centre. "Where are you taking me?" Oliver asked, confused. "We escaping?"

Yao Fei doesn't acknowledge Oliver and drags him to a group of men formed in a circle, surrounded by more metal barrels torches. They arrive at the group to see the masked assassin fighting another prisoner-well brutalising him. The assassin lands several powerful blows to the chest before jumping into the air striking down with his elbow breaking the prisoners collarbone and shoulder. The men continuously cheer on the show.

The prisoner gets back up into a sloppy fighting stance and retaliates with a punch. The assassin pushes the arm away with the back of his hand and stomps down the side of the prisoner's knee breaking with a loud crunch. The prisoner slowly gets back up but the associate shoves the man's arm up, spinning underneath and connects several crippling punches to the man's left ribs and abdomen. The prisoner collapses towards the floor and the assassin drops down to one knee shattering the prisoner's other knee with an elbow.

The prisoner crumples on the floor moaning in pain but gets back up onto one knee but the assassin counters and jumps into a spinning kick, his calf smacking against the back of the prisoner's head. The assassin crouches down striking numerous times to the man's already broken ribs to the sound of the prisoner crying out in pain.

The assassin grabs the man's hand pulling onto his as he twists his hand back squeezing the man's index finger near to the point of cracking. The assassin looks at Fyers for permission and receives a nod. He aggressively twists the man's arm back and drops down pulling the prisoner's leg up by the back of the knee, flipping him into the air, letting go. The assassin unsheathes his sword and slices across the prisoner's chest as he falls. He twirls his sword waiting for any sign of the man's survival. Oliver flinches back in shock at the brutal execution.

Fyers limps into the circle on his crutch, "I admit, that bout was particularly one sided." Fyers looks around the circle, "would anybody else like to try." He looks at Oliver in feigned shock, "what about you mister Queen?" Yao Fei shoves Oliver into the circle almost collapsing on his knees.

"The reason for these gladiatorial distractions is to increase our unity," Fyer explains looking at his men but directs them at Oliver. He limps towards Oliver circling around him, "our newest recruit should have the opportunity to try his hand. A show of mister Queen being executed by his former friend." Yao Fei passes his rifle to another soldier beside him and walks into the circle staring at Oliver with a blank face the whole time. Fyers walks away with his associate moving to his side.

The men start to cheer as Yao Fei stands opposite Oliver, the assassin twirls his sword and sheaths the blade in the scabbard on his back. Yao Fei gives Oliver a subtle nod.

Yao Fei starts the fight with a strike to Oliver's face and immediately Oliver hits the floor on his back. As Oliver climbs onto his feet Yao Fei's boot strikes his stomach knocking the air out of his lungs. Oliver tries to reach out in an attempt to stop him but Yao Fei deflects his arm to the side and brings it over Oliver's arm punching in his cheek. As Oliver's head twists to the side Yao Fei strikes the other side of his face before elbowing up underneath his chin sending Oliver's head flying back. Yao Fei jumps into the air kicking Oliver's left ribs followed by his other leg striking Oliver's right ribs.

Oliver drops to the floor groaning in pain and clutching his sides. He gets back up only to be dropped again by Yao Fei's elbow. Oliver pants on the floor but drags himself onto his feet once more. Yao Fei's hand grabs Oliver's shoulder and jumps up wrapping himself around Oliver from underneath his arm and lands on his feet again behind Oliver with an arm around the front of his neck. Yao Fei's other hands prevent Oliver's head from moving back as he chokes the life out of Oliver.

Oliver claws at Yao Fei's hand with painful gasps for air, his ankle is kicked and lowered until his knees are bent, his hand covers Oliver's mouth, depositing something inside.. A moment later Yao Fei releases Oliver and the playboy collapses to the floor dead. Yao Fei steps back looking down at Oliver taking in a breath of air.

Two men enter the homemade gladiatorial ring and drag Oliver's body away.

The next day a mercenary drops Oliver's body at the edge of a cliff by the waterfall. Yao Fei glances between Fyers and Oliver as the mercenary prepares to push Oliver over the edge. "Wait," Yao Fei said in Mandarin. Fyers snaps his head to the side glaring at Yao Fei at his audacity and confusion. "I'll do it," Yao Fei explains in Mandarin. Yao a Fei studies Yao Fei's face and body language before sharply gesturing at Oliver with his head.

Yao Fei jumps down from above onto the cliff rock and the mercenary crouching by Oliver stands up stepping to the side for Yao Fei, the mercenary climbs back up onto the higher ridge. Yao Fei gets down on his knees and subtly slips a folded map inside a breast pocket and pinches two fingers on Oliver's neck. Fyers stares down at Yao Fei unable to believe it and then smirks with amusement.

Yao Fei rolls Oliver over the edge and watches as Oliver falls submerging into the water. Yao Fei gets up onto his feet and climbs back up to Fyers. "Well done, Yao Fei," Fyers congratulates. "You have proven your loyalty...but I'll still be keeping her as insurance. And fun." Fyers and his men walk away leaving Yao Fei glaring darkly at Fyers' back.

Oliver's eyes shoot open with his mouth wide swallowing the river's water. Breaking the surface Oliver swims slowly to the small stone bay with great difficulty. Crawling himself out of the water and wipes the water from his eyes choking on water and breathing in oxygen greedily.

Oliver checks his pockets for his father's book and finds a small ripped section from a map. Studying the map Oliver spots ink written across the map detailing locations. A red line goes from the area marked W.F for the waterfall going to the top of the island with a red X. A word written above. "shengcun," Oliver pronounces badly. "Survive," Oliver translates for himself needlessly, remembering Yao Fei translating the word for him before.

Oliver drags himself onto his feet with groans of pain before limping across the bay, letting out grunts every few steps.

Making his way through the forest Oliver uses the techniques Yao Fei taught him on evasion, watching where he steps and checking for any patrolling soldiers as he gingerly makes his way to the area marked on the map.
