Chapter 15
A warrior at last!
Reaperpaw was 12 moons today and he and the other apprentices were having their warrior assessment and they were all nervous and excited. Reaperpaw had just caught a rabbit when he smelled dog and went to find the others. The others were together, looking around and sniffing, they clearly smelled dog too. They all climbed trees to see the dog, Reaperpaw was on a lower branch but could see a brown, black and white dog with long ears and long legs, It also had a white tipped tail. It seemed to pick up their scent as it let out a howl mixed with a bark. When the dog came close to Reaperpaw's tree he dropped from his branch and on to the dogs back. The dog yelped and circled to try to get Reaperpaw off, Reaperpaw sheathed his claws and let go. The dog turned and growled at him, Reaperpaw hissed back and the dog yelped again as Leafpaw and the others dropped to the ground. The dog growled then ran ran as Reaperpaw yowled and gave chase with his friends behind him, they chased the dog right out of Petalclan territory. They came back to unbury their prey only to be surprised by Falconwind and Bouldernight coming to check up on them. They told the two warriors about the dog and how they chased it off, Falconwind and Bouldernight were very impressed and helped carry prey back. When they got back and put the prey on the fresh kill pile the two mentors went to tell Birchstar and the other mentors. Soon the apprentices heard Birchstar call a clan meeting and they all ran over. "Clan we gather here today to make these apprentices into warriors. I ask Starclan to gaze upon these apprentices who worked hard to learn our noble code. They will now get their warrior names. Beaverpaw from this moment on you will be known as Beaverpelt, we honer your strength and your bravery and we welcome you as a full member of Petalclan! Otterpaw from this moment on you will be known as Ottersplash. We honer your knowledge and patience and welcome you as a full member of Petalclan. Chestnutpaw from this moment on you will be know as Chestnutflight. We honer your bravery and quick thinking. Leafpaw from this moment on you will be known as Leafdawn we honer your swiftness and thoughtfulness and we welcome you as a full member of Petalclan. Nightpaw from this moment on you will be known as Nightpelt. We honer your kindness and bravery and we welcome you as a full member of Petalclan. Reaper listened as the clan called all of their warrior names into the sky and in his head he heard his Starclan give him the name Reaperclaw. That night as he and his friends watched the camp, he thought about how far he's come and wondered if he could rebuild Duskclan now. That would mean leaving his friends behind and there was that prophsey and the omen that made him think maybe it wasn't time to leave yet. He thought a lot that night surrounded by his friends and Starclan.
