Chapter 17
Followers and the long journey home
To his surprise Snowheather picked up Blossomkit and came over to join him as did the queens while ushering their kits to him. Spottedears went up to her sister and said goodbye to her, Reaperclaw's friends all ran over as well as did Falconwind and Bouldernight, Creekspark Fernbriar, Newtpelt and Fishleap joined their mates. Not everyone joined Reaperclaw of course but the ones that did join him surprised him as he didn't know he was that popular with the clan. He nodded to all of the cats gathered around him said "Let's go home" and led the way. All of them followed with the older kits running around but coming back to the group, little Blossomkit getting carried by different warriors. All the warriors would stop to hunt and teach the older kits how to hunt. Sometimes they stopped to rest, sometimes to get out of the rain, but through it all they marched on. They all got to know Reaperclaw better and all teased him about Leafdawn and him, Ebonykit even saved them by spotting a hawk. Reaperclaw took it down and shared the hawk meat with his soon to be clan mates. Leafdawn picked up a feather and put in Reaperclaw's ear fur and he gave her a questioning look she said "For taking down a hawk.." He smiled and put one one Ebonykit's ear for spotting the hawk. Soon they came to a river that looked familiar, he smiled and said "Almost there everyone." There purrs and cheers all around. Soon the forest came into sight and Reaperclaw couldn't help but run in happiness, the others following as best they could. The trees, streams, dragonflies, butterflies and magical aura all looked and felt the same he sighed happily as he waited for the others. He was finally back home.
