We were on Mount Kena in Johto in no time. I saw Team Rocket's many helicopters from afar. Pidgeot somehow managed to get me to the back of the island without Team Rocket noticing us.

"Thank you," I said, patting Pidgeots head. Then it flew away. When it was gone, I felt a strong pain in me and it seemed as if I heard soft cries of pain. I was sure that it came from Mewtwo.

Mewtwo had told me that he had a connection to my thoughts, but what if I also had a connection to Mewtwo? I found a cave and crossed the mountain. When I came out on the other side, I saw Mewtwo, it was held in the air in a sphere made by machines. Lightning flashed through this bullet that struck Mewtwo, causing this excruciating pain.

I looked at the machines and saw Ash and his friends tampering with them.

"Mewtwo!" I called when I ran towards them.

~ Mew ... You are here ... ~, Mewtwo said in a weak voice.

"Are you his trainer?" Misty asked me.

"No. We have a different connection." I said.

"We can't do anything!" Rocko finally called up to Mewtwo after he and Ash tried unsuccessfully to free Mewtwo.

"Then I'll give it a try," I said.

"You? But how ..." Ash asked.

~ Mew ... No you can't! You are not ready for that yet! ~ Mewtwo wanted to object but I was not convinced.

"If I can throw other people's food in their face and let the fuses fly out, it should be easy for me," I said, reaching out to the 2 machines that produced this energy ball that held Mewtwo.

I closed my eyes and concentrated. I let all my anger flow into my strength and then with a battle cry I shot the energy at the machines, which then exploded.

The energy ball disappeared and Mewtwo threatened to fall many meters. So I flew up and grabbed it. It was painful and very exhausting, but I was able to slowly put Mewtwo on the floor. I sank panting to the floor beside it.

~ Mew ... you shouldn't have done that. Your body can't take it. ~ Said Mewtwo clearly weakened.

"I had no choice ..." I said, squeezing his hand.

"I don't want to know how you did it ..." Rocko said as he helped me up. Then we wanted to get Mewtwo up and leave when Govanni, the leader of Team Rocket, appeared.

"I would advise you to let go of my Pokemon," he said.

"Your Pokemon ?!" I asked angrily.

"I am the reason why it exists, so I decide its fate."

Rocko and Misty sent their Pokemon out of their Pokeballs. They wanted to distract Govanni. Because Ashs Pikachu had learned about the healing powers of a water source that was nearby. Ash wanted to bring Mewtu there with the help of his Pokemon.

"I have been waiting for a long time to meet you personally. Because you are to blame for all the events in which I was involuntarily involved!" I said and concentrated. A small ball of energy formed in my hand.

"Do what you want ... you can't stop me!" Said Govanni, laughing angrily.

"We'll see about that!" I said, hurling the energy ball at Govanni. I used the confusion to follow Ash and Mewtwo. When I reached the end of the rock tunnel, I saw the source and Ash speaking to 2 adults.

"Where's Mewtwo?" I asked him.

"In the water," said Ash.

I sank to the ground in relief: "Thank heaven."

Suddenly Govanni appeared in a helicopter and started shooting at the source.

"Tell me where Mewtwo is!" He cried angrily.

"Stop it! You can't just destroy the source," called the man Ash had spoken to. He was an explorer.

"And if I can do that! This place is mine!"

Then Mewtwo appeared from the source: ~ You will not pollute this place! It is not yours! Just as little as I do! ~, Mewtwo suddenly shone very strange, ~ The source has given me new life, now I will do everything to defend it! ~

A bright light blinded us and I lost consciousness.

POV Mewtwo

I used all my strength to protect the source. For this I moved them under the mountain together with the lake. It took a lot of effort, but it was worth it. When the work was done and I looked around, I was relieved that all of my friends were safe. The human children were also well.

~ Where's Mew? ~ I asked, thinking maybe I was just dreaming that she was there. Yes, there it was. The two Pikachu sat next to her with concerned mine. Mew lay motionless on the floor. I hurried towards her, startled.

~ Mew? ~

She didn't move. I knelt down and hugged her. What was that feeling that suddenly overwhelmed me? It was completely unknown to me. Or not?

Mew had lost all her strength to save me. I warned her so many times that she should never go beyond her limits. Her fragile human body would not withstand it. I felt so terribly guilty. I lowered my head and was confused to find that I was shedding tears. I had seen it back then at the other Pokemon who had shed tears around the boy who had sacrificed himself and who now stood next to me with a sad face. But never, never would I have thought that I would one day shed tears for a person ... right? Suddenly the image of a little girl flashed briefly in my memory, which said to me: "You cry because you are sad."

I was sure I didn't know this girl. But why did she show up in my memories? The picture of this girl and her voice only made sure that my grief didn't increase.

~ Mew, please wake up ... I'm asking you ... ~ I said in a breaking voice.

But she didn't respond, however much I asked.

~ Rebecca, please ~

"What ... did you ...", I suddenly heard her voice say softly, "You ... first called me ... by my name ..."

I felt a touch on my cheek. Was it she stroking my hand on my cheek or was she wiping my tears?

~ You're alive! ~ I said happily and picked her up.

"Ouch ... be careful ..." she gasped.

~ Sorry, ~ I said, standing up. With her in my arms I went to the source. I slowly climbed into the water until Rebecca was also up to her neck in the water. I felt the pleasant tingling with which the source restored my strength and hoped that it would have the same effect on her.

I suddenly saw that Rebecca was surrounded by a pink aura. She sighed comfortably, it seemed that the water would really help her too.

~ Are you feeling better? ~

"Yes much better."

~ Good. Then I'll take you home now. ~

"Thank you, Mewtwo," she said, smiling softly.

I flew out of the cave with Rebecca in my arms and brought her back to her world where she belonged. I flew through the open window into her room and put her on her bed.

I bowed my head. I felt so guilty, she was always hurt when we met.

"Mewtwo? Don't worry, it's all right," she said as if she could read my mind.

~ Maybe it's better if we don't see each other anymore. ~ I finally said.

Rebecca looked at me in horror: "What do you mean?"

~ Let's face the truth. Every time you come into the Pokemon world with me you will be seriously injured. I don't want to be responsible for it Rettung you to the extreme at some point ... ~ I said, turning away from her. The grief wanted to overcome me again, but I didn't want to show any weakness.

"But that's not it. Thanks to you," she said.

~ I wish I could somehow squeeze Mew out of you. Then you could continue your boring, miserable human life here as if nothing had happened. ~

"How can you say that? Mew is why I have such a unique connection with the most powerful Pokemon in the world. I am the reason why you have made such an amazing change. About half a year ago you still wanted to exterminate all humanity. And now look at you. You are concerned about me. You have compassion for a human girl, you have even shed tears for me. I do not regret a minute that I have spent with you and I am not afraid of any of what's coming. "Rebecca said in tears.

I sighed deeply, this girl clearly seemed to have lost her mind. I turned back to her. She lowered her head a little so that her forehead touched my stomach. Then she put her arms around me as best she could.

"Promise me you will come back."

After a long pause, I replied: ~ I promise. ~

Mew looked up at me and smiled. It was strange, that only she of all people had moved my heart and I wondered where all this should lead ...
