Derek Morgan

I glared at the waitress every time she walked past our tables but I don't think Reid noticed. Usually, I would've congratulated him for getting so much attention but he was my date tonight and I didn't like him being ogled by women. I hated it, actually. As soon as I dropped him off at his home, I sighed like a teenager in high school. Was all that really real?

I smiled to myself as I drove home, feeling like one of those guys in romance movies were they swoon after a measly date. God, who knew Reid could make me feel this way?

As I entered my apartment, my phone rang and I groaned. Please don't let it be a case.

"Hello?" I answered.

"I really hope I'm not interrupting your date," Garcia prayed. I chuckled and sighed, already grabbing my go-bag.

"Fortunately for you, it just ended a few minutes ago," I replied.

"Oh thank baby Jesus," she sighed in relief. "In that case, well we have a case."

"I know, be there in a few," I hung up and bashed my head into the couch cushion for good measure before heading out the door I had just entered a few minutes ago.

Me: Do you want me to come pick you up?

I waited a few seconds for a response as I buckled my seat belt.

Pretty Boy: Yeah sure.

I grinned and started the engine, driving back to Reid's apartment complex. I picked him up and we arrived quickly at HQ.

"Sorry to ruin Friday night, guys," Hotch said as he entered the briefing room. "Garcia go ahead."

As soon as we were briefed we boarded the jet and we were on our way to San Francisco.

"Hey, look," Spencer turned to me and handed me a slip of paper. I frowned and unfolded, staring at a phone number.

"What is it?" I cocked my head to the side slightly.

"It's the waitress' number, she gave it to me when you went to the restroom," he shrugged nonchalantly. I scowled, trying not to make it obvious but I don't think it worked.

"What's got you worked up?" Rossi questioned. Reid flushed, looking away immediately.

"Nothing, Reid just reminded me of something I'd rather not think about," I looked at him pointedly and he shrugged sheepishly. Rossi looked at us funny but didn't say anything. "Why did you give it to me?" I crumpled it.

"I didn't know what else to do with it. It's not like I wanted it," he answered.

"What about throwing it away?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I figured you would've been upset if I hadn't told you," I thought about it for a second.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," I admitted, tucking the crumpled piece of paper into my pocket to throw away when we landed. We didn't talk too much after that, avoiding unnecessary profiling from the others.

"Now that was a rough case," I let out a puff of air as I dropped into my seat.

"Tell me about it," JJ sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. There were multiple kids involved and so it had obviously affected her a lot as per usual. It had taken a week and a half to track and arrest the unsub.

"I just hope we never have another one like it," Emily gulped and there was a unanimous murmur of agreement. Reid sat across from me next to JJ and Rossi perked a brow.

"What? No cuddling this time?" he asked. Emily snorted and Reid's cheeks flushed.

"Shut up, man," I tried to laugh it off but Emily had a knowing smirk on her face and I knew she knew something.

"I thought it was pretty cute last time," JJ grinned.

"Me too," Emily agreed.

"Okay, you guys are just crazy," I shook my head.

"Are we really?" Rossi narrowed his eyes at me.

"Most definitely," Reid nodded his head. "Besides, Morgan snores too loud," I gaped at him.

"Oh shut up, you were basically dead. How would you know?" I retorted.

"Actually, when the mind is asleep-" he started but JJ rolled her eyes playfully.

"Okay, okay, we're sorry we brought it up," she put her hands in surrender and everyone started laughing, Reid turning a deeper shade of red with a small smile playing on his lips. Hotch only watched with a playful smile and I hoped he wasn't analyzing the situation like he usually does with everything.

The ride back was more or less quiet on the way back, small conversations here and there but of course I saw everyone sneak glances between Reid and me a couple of times. I know they wanted more evidence but they weren't getting any from me and Reid had fallen asleep.

"Drinks on me?" Rossi offered as we all made it back to headquarters.

"Oh I'm so in," Emily grinned.

"Ooh, don't forget about me!" Garcia scuttled in.

"I need some sleep," JJ shook her head.

"Me too," Reid agreed.

"Have fun, I have paperwork to do," Hotch waved at us. Everyone groaned and Rossi dramatically rolled his eyes.

"They're still gonna be here tomorrow, come on, Aaron. A night without files won't kill you," he pointed out, his hands outstretched for effect. Hotch rolled his eyes.

"Fine," he sighed and the rest of the team cheered. They began talking and I looked over at Reid.

"Do you want me to take you home?" I asked. He shook his head no.

"JJ can take me home, you should go," he smiled small at me.

"Are you sure?" I perked a brow and he nodded.

"Yes, I'm sure," he assured me.

"Alright," I grinned and we all piled into the elevator. Reid and I stood in the far back, pressed against the wall of the elevator, our hands brushing slightly as we were all packed in pretty tightly. I watched as his cheeks flushed and it was utterly adorable.

"See you Monday, kid," he smiled and nodded before he walked off with JJ.

"Let's go get drunk," Emily grinned and everyone laughed.
