Hey guys! I am SOOOO sorry I haven't been posting any new chapters lately. It's not that I was busy but, because Ive had writer's block and been avoiding writing a new chapter. This story is inspired by the book Always never yours by Emily Wibberly and Austen Seigemund Broka. Always never yours is such a good book and you should read it! (Mine has a little twist to the story) here is my story with a twist:
The story is about A girl who wants to get into Julliard for singing. But she needs one musical credit to apply. And she ends up getting the lead. Because of her flirtatious personality, she likes this boy, and her friend is trying to help her get the boy. But they end up falling in love.
Ok, let's get on to the story!
"Ugh, can we go inside now?" A boy asks. We were on the hill out side of the arts building at Goode high school. The music teacher was getting stressed so she asked us all to leave the classroom.
"No, we can't go inside. We have to practice the song for the halftime show tomorrow! Now from the top-"
"Annabeth! Annabeth!" I looked over to see my best friend, Thalia Grace, running up the hill. "Did someone die?" I asked. "What? No, no. The cast list is up!" Thalia said, out of breath. The kids who had auditioned for the schools production of Grease got up And ran down the hill to the school.
I sighed and went down the hill after them. Thalia somehow managed to catch up.
When I got through the croud to the list someone cought my eye. Noah Thompson. He had buff arms and blond hair. Annabeth, you shouldn't. No, look away. LOOK AWAY my mind told me. But of course I didn't listen.
" I'll be right back." I told Thalia. I prepped myself as I walked up to Noah. "Hey, Noah. Do your abs match your arms?" I said. "On a good day when I don't eat burritos. Today's one of those days." He replied. Well that killed it for me.
When I walked back to where I was standing before, Thalia had her eyebrows raised. "What?"
"Noah is off limits remember?" Thalia reminded me. "I thought Coach hedge was off limits." I shot back. "Girl. You said you won't date footballers, remember?" Like I could forget. "I remember, I remember. Okay now let's check the list."
We broke through the dispersing croud to the paper. I started at the bottom where the extras are. It's what I auditioned for. But...my name wasn't there. Hmm.
I moved up the list slowly. Cheerleaders...pink ladies... Then I got to the top.
I was SANDY.
••••••••••••
Uh-uh. No way. This isn't what I wanted. I wanted to be an extra, and I got the lead.
"Oh my god! Congratulations! You're the lead!" Thalia exclaimed. "Why aren't you happy?"
All I said was "come on". I walked towards Mr. Lucky's office. He was the music/drama teacher. There must be a mistake. " Mr. Lucky?" I called out. He peeked out from under his desk. "Yes sweetie?" "What are you doing under there? Anyways, I'm here to talk to you about my role. Can you change it?" I asked.
"No sweetie, you cannot change your role. Besides, so many people kill to have that role. So just suck it up, and don't be a bitch ok?" Mr. Lucky is only thirty, and he cusses every time there isn't another teacher around.
I sighed. This is gonna be a long six months.
As soon as I walked out the door, I ran in to someone. "Whoa there." I said. "Watch where you are go- Oh hey Luke." Of course it's him. "Well this is gonna get awkward, isn't it?" At first I was confused then I realized that he was playing Danny. Shit.
Here is a little background check: me and Luke dated for four months. I lost my virginity to him. He broke up with me to date Thalia. But I'm happy for them. Kind of. But I was kind of expecting it anyways.
This was REALLY gonna get awkward.
It has happened to me before, so I was kinda used to it. Like when I was eleven years old, I told Katie Gardner I had a crush on Justin Bieber. The next day I found out he had a girlfriend. Or like when I kissed Jonathan Poalo in Seventh grade. The next day, he told me he liked Eliza Garret. They are still together till this very day. Or in freshman year, my first real boyfriend, Connor Stoll, Cheated on me with my nextdoor neighbor. Which happened to be Katie Gardner.
"Well, at least they got the summer romance part right." I said. "You're not gonna steal my boyfriend are you?" Thalia asked, putting her hand in his.
"No, that's your thing." I replied without thinking.
Thalia's face fell. I'm afraid she gonna cry for the 50th time. When Thalia confessed her love for Luke, who was my boyfriend at the time, it took three hours of hugs to get her to calm down. "I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking. I didn't mean it." I say. "You guys make a perfect couple." Thalia smiles, relieved, and puts an arm around Luke.
"Are you guys coming to the cast party?" Luke asked, breaking the ice. "Yeah, of course. Where is it gonna be?" I asked. I hoped it wasn't at his house. "It's going to be at Norma's." He answered. Ugh. I hate Norma's.
I excused myself and went to class
••••••••••••
When I got home I checked the time. It was 5:00. The cast party started at 7:00. I pulled up YouTube on my computer and watched some videos, then went to the shower. I did a light face of makeup. I put on a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a cropped t-shirt, and a pair of platform converse.
As I ran down the stairs, I tied my hair into a ponytail. I grab my car keys from the little tray, and walked out the door. I opened the sun roof, and played my music extra loud. I was in a good mood today.
As I walked in I looked around for a place to sit. I Spotted Nico D'Angelo in a corner. I sat down next to him. "This play in incredible." He said as I sat down. "I know right? Who doesn't like Grease? What role are you playing?" Nico looked mock offended and said ," you didn't scheck who I was playing?" I'm sure he got a lead or at least a talking part. He always got a good role, ever since he came to this school.
"If I did, why am I asking?" I said sarcastically. "I'm playing Kenickie Murdoch, one of the dudes in the leather jackets." "Oh my god, really? I would die to have that role."
"So many girls would want to be sandy, Annabeth. Plus, we are going to the New York Arts festival, so you have to like your role. So many scouts will be there-"
"Wait, what?" I interrupted. "We are going to the New York Arts festival?" " Uhm, yeah! No one told you?"
I was about to answer but I heard Nico's breath catch. I followed his gaze. He was staring at a blonde waiter taking orders. "Go." I said. Nico is like me. When he falls for someone, he falls HARD.
He got up and left. I looked for somewhere else to sit, because the teens behind us where talking about their body count. I found a seat next to this boy who was writing in his journal. He looked up as I sat down. I saw that he was Percy Jackson, a guy in my fifth period. I remember he was friends with Leo Valdez, but Leo had moved to Texas the year before.
"Hi. It's Percy Jackson, right?"
He blinks up at me. "You weren't in music or drama last year." I continue.
"I'm completely out of my element, I know." He says. His voice startled me. For a guy I never heard speak, he sounded pretty sure of himself. "Who did you audition for?" I asked. "I wanted to play an extra, but instead, I got a leather jacket dude. I'm,like, a character."
"Lucky. I auditioned for a extra as well, but look where that got me." He gave me a look of confusion. I reached across the table and it a hand over his pencil, which he was tapping furiously. Percy's eyes follow it, and his ears redden.
"You don't know who I'm playing?" I asked. He shook his head. "I don't know. A cheerleader?"
"A cheerleader? Should I be offended?"
"I'm sorry, i-" his ears turn even redder. "Go higher." I told him, cutting him off."Annabeth Chase..." He pondered my name.
"You're Sandy... And you are not happy."
