Yao Fei raises a hand covering Shado's face fatherly, "alright, alright. I do it."
"Good," Fyers said, lowering his pistol. "We need to get you back into uniform." Yao Fei leans down kissing Shado's forehead and discreetly placing a throwing knife between Oliver's hands before following Fyers. Oliver isn't able to hide his surprise but luckily no one saw.
Oliver hides the knife with his gloved hands. "Hey, Slade?" Oliver whispers gaining Slade's attention, "we can't let Fyers blow up an airliner full of innocents."
Slade gives Oliver a small grin, "you've come a long way from the boy I first met. But you're right, we cannot."
Fyers activates his long range handheld radio, "it's Fyers. It's happening."
"Understood," replies his benefactor before cutting off the radio walking into a room where a woman is sitting at a desk, "everything's coming according to your plan."
Oliver, Slade and Shado are still on the floor in the tent when Fyers comes back through the entrance followed by a soldier carrying a camera on a tripod. Another soldier hangs up a large ripped up white cloth on one side of the tent where Yao Fei moves to stand in front.
"Your uniform suits you Yao Fei," Fyers comments. Yao Fei stays rigid and emotionless. The soldier turns on the camera as Fyers looks at the image screen checking the focus. "When you're ready."
Yao a Fei takes a deep breath reminding himself that's he's doing this for Shado, "to the people of China and the citizens of the world, I make this statement voluntarily, taking responsibility for the shooting of Ferris Air flight 637 to protest the people's Republic of China's treatment to me for betraying and abandoning me to the island of Lian Yu." Oliver begins to cut through his binds. "Consider this my righteous delivery of powerful vengeance."
Fyers turns off the camera, "thank you. Oliver and Shado are feeling a variety of emotions while Slade looks at Yao Fei hopeless to help. Fyres whips out his pistol shooting in the head, Shado lets out an ear piercing scream.
"No!" Oliver shouts falling forwards, Shado doing the same crying.
"Sir," Allen calls, "the plane is within range."
"Good," Fyers comments with a nod, "prepare the launcher." Fyers turns to look at Oliver with a raised eyebrow.
Allen looks up at Fyers by his side, "the plane's holding steady at thirty three thousand feet. Sir. It's in range for missile intercept." Shado cries go ignored by Fyers and his men.
"Lock the first missile on target," Fyers orders.
"Missile one locked on the jet's heat trail, sir." Allen said typing on his keyboard.
"Prepare to launch on my mark," Fyers orders, Oliver glances at Slade and he glances back as his eyes go down to the knife in Oliver's hands behind his back. Slade manages to hide his surprise as Oliver glances Shado cutting through his binds.
Oliver launches himself to his feet charging at Fyers shoving him to the side with his shoulder as Slade charges into Fyers with a battle cry, while Shado stays on her knees still frozen from seeing her father's execution. Oliver thrusts the knife unintentionally between Allen's ribs before spinning around slicing through Shado's binds.
Shado immediately jumps, kicking a soldier around the head and swiftly takes another two down by pressure points. Allen jumps up, kneeing Oliver in the crotch as Fyers punches Slade's face, making the Australian stumble and kicks his chest, dropping him to the floor.
Fyers rips the radio from his pocket, anger contorting his face, "FIRE THE MISSILE!" Shado runs up to Allen who's choking Oliver and swiftly jabs the man's wrist releasing Oliver before snapping his neck back, killing him.
Shado runs out of the tent using a soldier's thigh to jump up wrapping her legs around the man's neck and flipping them over. Oliver follows behind pausing, frozen in place as he watches the missile fire into the sky.
Oliver starts to run but immediately has to dive behind cover several soldiers firing bullets at him. Shado somersaults onto the missile launcher and kills the soldier on top as Slade picks up an assault rifle from a dead soldier and starts firing back at the soldier shooting at Oliver.
A few soldiers hit the floor as Slade crouches behind spraying them with bullets. A soldier starts to drive the missile launcher down the gravel road, "Go kid!" Slade shouts as he lays down suppressive fire Oliver runs out of cover showing his ability as a runner. Slade lets out a long and loud battle cry as Oliver springboards himself onto the missile launcher from a concrete barrier.
Shado back kicks another soldier getting too close to Oliver, "we need to reprogram the missile."
Oliver's eyes become wide in panic, "I don't know how to reprogram the missile launcher!" Shado pulls out a few wires and flips up a screen, "Shado!" Shado stands up to the sight of a soldier pointing a pistol at her head, she grabs the gun and pulls back, the soldier going with it. Shado presses the barrel into the man's temple and pulls the trigger before shooting two more in the head.
One of the soldier's bodies collapses onto the controls and the launcher speeds up. Oliver has to grab onto some thick power cables to stay aboard as Shado is shouldered off the side, the soldier going with her. "Oliver! Put the chip in."
Slade taunts the soldiers as he kills one after another, bullets spraying everywhere. Another soldier jumps onto the launcher as Oliver climbs around to the control panel. The soldier lands two powerful punches to Oliver's torso before kicking his thigh, Oliver hits his head on the cockpit doors and the soldier repeatedly punches Oliver's abdomen. Oliver desperately retaliates, kicking the man off him and throwing the soldier over the side as the launcher continues down the road, its speed increasing.
Oliver opens the control panel and fiddles around with the wires briefly looking up in a mixture of desperation and horror, the missile nearly on target. Quickly Oliver finds the chip and reconnects it back to the motherboard. A quick glance up shows the missile turning back around. Oliver's eyes widen and he jumps into the cockpit throwing the soldier over the controls off the side and pulling the lever back, the wheel tracks lockup, aquaplaning across the gravel.
Oliver jumps off the side dropping down, hiding behind the launcher, watches in horror as the missile strikes the camp. Oliver's heartbeat stops, his friends are dead, he collapses onto his side.
Once the dust settled Oliver slowly made his way back to camp. The destroyed camp is covered in guts and gore, dead soldiers blown in half. Deformed body parts particularly their faces.
Oliver walks through the camp searching for any survivors but already having a sinking feeling he won't find anyone. "Shado!? Shado!?" There's no reply, "Slade?" Oliver comes across a crate with a damaged lid, a crate that Oliver is certain he saw in Fyers' tent. Crouching down, Oliver opens the crate, finding Yao Fei's bow and arrows. A laugh echoes through the darkness having Oliver springing to his feet nocking an arrow, holding the bow up as he searches the area.
Oliver finds Slade crawling out from behind a concrete wall laughing, "I should have figured you couldn't save the day without making a mess." Oliver lowers the bow to the floor.
"Where's Shado?" Oliver asked blankly.
"I thought she was with you."
Fyers storms out from a round the corner, "actually she's with me!" Oliver slowly turns on his feet with Slade standing up, stopping a few feet to the side of Oliver. "She's with me," pressing the barrel underneath her jaw.
"It's over Fyers. Let her go," Slade demands limping before collapsing to the floor too weak.
Oliver raises Yao Fei's bow, aiming at Fyers, "let her go," Oliver said calmly. The calmest yet strongest Slade had ever seen him.
Fyers stares back at Oliver in disbelief, his mission ruined, "amazing. A two year operation undone because a young playboy happened to be up on the shore," Shado struggles but Fyers' grip on her hair is too strong. "And now a killer," Fyers said dubiously, knowing the boy couldn't kill him.
Oliver tightens his grip on the bowstring as he flexes his fingers around the bow. "You've wanted nothing more than to leave this island. And you can, I can call in a rescue ship and you can go home." Fyers pulls Shado's head down by the hair as he moves his gun to her temple, "are you willing to sacrifice that for her?"
Oliver doesn't wave and notices the subtle eyebrow raise Shado gives him and Slade watches Oliver not sure himself. Oliver hesitates slightly before releasing the bowstring, the arrow flies through the air and penetrates Fyers' throat, knocking him backwards off his feet gurgling in surprise.
Shado takes a deep breath of relief closing her eyes as Oliver lowers the bow, "always." Slade smiles up at Oliver from the floor impressed as Shado turns around looking at the arrow through Fyers throat before turning back to Oliver as he lets out a deep sigh as goes through the emotions of his first true intended kill.
