"We're here," I felt someone nudge my shoulder. I groaned and swatted blindly at whatever was touching me.
"Wait I got this," I heard someone mutter. Could they shut up and just let a man sleep? Jeez, it's - "Spencer Reid is ugly," my eyes snapped open unwillingly, blinking multiple times, recognizing Emily's face.
"Shut up and run," I rolled my eyes. She laughed before standing up.
"Told you," she looked over at Reid who was a blushing mess. I sighed and stood up from my seat.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Almost 3," Reid answered as we stepped out of the plane. I nodded in response and got into the SUVs to get back to headquarters.
"Let's get you home, Reid," I yawned, my eyes barely staying open. We got into my truck and I started it lazily.
"Do you want to stay over? You look really tired. Did you know that 20% of all fatal car accidents occur when the driver is drowsy? A total of 35,092 people died last year because of these accidents," he produced the information.
"Yeah, I'd rather not be added to that number," I agreed, just wanting to sleep somewhere quickly.
"Okay," I saw the small smile spread on his lips and it instantly made me smile. We arrived at his apartment quickly and he told me where I could park. I dragged my feet up to the elevator and into his apartment where I crashed onto his couch.
"You're not going to fit there, Derek. You'll be uncomfortable," I heard him say. "I'm sorry, I only have one bed. Erm, you can sleep there and I'll sleep on the couch," he offered.
"No, I'm good. It's okay-" I yawned, "your place, I'll sleep here," I snuggled into the pillow.
"Share?" he murmured. I opened an eye to look at him standing awkwardly but cutely.
"You sure, Pretty Boy?" he nodded and I stood up. He led me to this room and I kicked my boots off, throwing my shirt off too. I would've taken my pants off but I didn't want to make Reid too uncomfortable. I didn't pay attention to him as I closed my eyes and grabbed the pillow to snuggle my head in. A few minutes later, he cleared his throat.
"Uh, Derek? Don't laugh please but um-" I looked up at him and saw he was holding something in his hand. I squinted to make out what it was.
"You're putting on a night light because you're afraid of the dark?" I perked a brow and he nodded sheepishly.
"Does it bother you?" he asked quietly. I internally cooed at him.
"No, but you don't have to be afraid. I'm here with you," I reminded him. He smiled and looked down at the night light in his hands. He placed it on his dresser and shut off the lights. In two quick steps, he pounced into bed and immediately pulled the blankets over his legs. I chuckled softly.
"Would you-" he didn't get to finish when I pulled him into my arms.
"You're adorable, baby. You know that?" I murmured into his hair as he pressed his head into the crook of my neck. I felt him shake his head softly. "Well, you are. Now let's get some much-needed sleep," I pulled back a little and kissed the warm skin on his forehead.
"Thank you," he whispered into my neck, pressing a soft kiss on my neck.
"Anytime, sweetheart," I replied before I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep.
