Transformers the Shard of Life

This story is the first of five telling the story of a small team of Autobots searching for a cybertronian artifact. This story along with its characters (all of the characters are original by the way) were made by me and my brother about 10 years ago so set your expectations now. I hope you enjoy the story!

Transformers: The Shard of Life

Cybertron, birthplace of the transformers, an alien race composed of metal and at war with itself. The Decepticons, led by Megatron, against the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime. This civil war has destroyed Cybertron and is making its way towards Earth. Coming with the war is a shard of Cybertron, a shard that has been imbued with the power to give immortality to who ever may place it inside their spark. The shard has fractured into six different fragments and scattered across the globe, one on each continent except Antarctica. Both Autobots and Decepticons have sent a team to retrieve the shard fragments and join them together so that they can make their leader unstoppable and end the war!

U.S. Army base: Location, Puerto Rico

2100 Hrs

"General Ford sir, there is an unidentified aircraft entering the base's airspace. What should we do?" "Enter high alert but do not engage, I need to see this thing for myself. Send in a UAV to scout out and see what it is and send me back the feed." The UAVs were sent out and identified the aircraft. "It's an F-22 Raptor, It's weapons are not engaged." "Remain alert but still do not engage." ordered general Ford. "The Raptor has landed." '' Identify the pilot.'' "Sir, there is no pilot.'' "What the hell is going on here?" "Sir, we're picking up some strange radiation from the jet." ''Get your weapons ready." Suddenly a nearby tank fired a missile near the soldiers! "Holy crap!" Then the jet started to transform! "Open fire!" The now transformed jet then fired four missiles from its shoulders! Then the tank that fired the missile transformed! The tank then equipped a missile launcher to its right arm and a mini-gun on its left. "Decepticons, transform!" ordered the tank. Then a dune buggy, a Humvee and a helicopter all transformed at once! "Rotor, go after the files, we'll cover you." ordered the tank. The helicopter then made its way to a building that contains files the Decepticons need. The helicopter downloaded the files and destroyed the building. "Decepticons, destroy the base, we have what we need." ordered the tank. The Decepticons then destroyed the base, leaving no survivors.

Richmond, Virginia: 0700 Hrs

"Jordan! You're going to be late for school!" "I know mom, I know. Don't rush me, I'm almost done.'' replied Jordan Wilker. "Have fun at school!'' said Jordan's mom. "That sentence actively contradicts itself because fun and school don't mix." replied Jordan. "Oh shut up, it'll be fine. Just a few more weeks and it'll be summer vacation." ''Can't wait." replied Jordan. Jordan Wilker is a 16 year old boy and he's very often picked on, because of course he is. Little did he know that a fateful encounter would happen on his way to school. "Is that recycling truck following me?" The recycling truck then picked up speed and started to chase Jordan! "Holy crap, what's your problem?!'' The recycling truck then chased Jordan into an abandoned parking garage. "Get out of the car!" shouted the man in the recycling truck. "OK, fine look, I'm out of the car, happy now!" The recycling truck then transformed! " What the- nope! I'm out of here, screw this!'' Jordan then started to open his car door but the recycling truck smashed his car before he could get in. "Ah crap, crap crap crap!'' Jordan then tried to run away but the recycling truck is obviously faster and catches him. "What do you want, who are you!" ''Do you know about the shard?!" ''The what?" "The shard! The shard of life! Intel says that your family knows of its location, so where is it?!'' "I thought that was just a bedtime story my dad told me, I didn't know it was real!" ''You're useless! Take me to your dad!" "My dad is in the Pacific ocean, he works for the Navy." "Give me coordinates!" ''Why would I know those?'' "You humans are pathetic. What's his ship called?!'' "The U.S.S. Marino." "Good." ''Will you let me go now?" "No, you know too much now." The recycling truck then activated a blade to come out of its upper arm. But then a Toyota Seqouia rushed around a corner swept out the recycling trucks legs. Jordan got free and ran towards the Seqouia as it opened its door by itself with no driver inside. The Sequoia then drove away. "Gah'' said the recycling truck as it got up and transformed to give chase. The chase happenned through closed down roads and back alley ways. Eventually the recycling truck transformed and shot out the tires of the Seqouia, causing it to skid out. Jordan then fell out of the car as it started to transform. The car then transformed its hand into a pump action hand cannon and fired at the recycling truck but missed. The recycling truck then shot the cars eyes, as the car activated a hand sword and stabbed the recycling truck in the chest. They then started to grapple as the recycling truck picked up and slammed the car. The car then shot its hand cannon at the recycling truck four times, causing it to transform and drive away. "Come with me, please." said the car as it transformed. "I mean, after all of that I might as well." He then got inside the car as it drove away.

"Where are you taking me?" asked Jordan. "You'll see soon enough." "Alright then." ''And here we are." "What is this place?" "The Autobot base. It's a little thrown together but It'll do." He then transformed back into his robot form. "What's your name anyway?'' "Slapshot. You'll meet the rest of the Autobots soon enough." "And who is it that attacked me?'' "A Decepticon named Recykill." ''Is that name and vehicle mode a coincidence or intentional?" "Why would I know that? Oh, here they come. Let me introduce you to the Autobots!" Four cars then entered the Autobot base. One was a blue Subaru, another was a red Honda, third was a vintage car from the 1920's, and last was a rusty Chevrolet. They then all transformed. "I'm Blue Lightning, the leader of this team of Autobots." said the blue Subaru. "I'm Snapshot, Slapshots brother." "That's Valentino." Blue Lightning then pointed to the car from the 1920's. "Yeah, I landed on earth back in the 1920's and saw those get away cars that mobsters used and thought it fit my style.'' ''I'm Timelapse.'' ''He claims he can time travel but I have my doubts." said Valentino. "And this is Kidd." said Timelapse as he picked up a boombox that then transformed. ''You know I hate being called that!" said Kidd. "Aw, is little kiddy throwing a temper tantrum?" Valentino said mockingly. "Oh, you wanna go? I'll very slowly tear you apart!" "Try me, I dare you.'' OK, let's break this up. Kidd, get back in your storage compartment." said Timelapse. ''Anyway, ah here come the rest.'' said Snapshot. Then an Apache helicopter and an F-15 Raptor jet flew into the base. They then also transformed. ''That's Chopper and Arrowhead." said Blue Lightning. "Now I will tell you about the Decepticons." said Blue Lightning. "There are 8 Decepticons trying to stop my team and get something called the shard of life." ''We are trying to get the shard before the Decepticons do." said Chopper. "You, unfortunately, got mixed up in this whole situation." said Arrowhead. "You see, your dad knew about us when he encountered Chopper in 1997." ''Me and your dad actually got pretty close but of course I had to meet up with the other Autobots to get the shard." "The first shard is located in Washington D.C.'' said Snapshot. "On top of the Washington monument." said Slapshot. "We're on our way now, actually." said Valentino. "As far as we know we're ahead of the Decepticons but that lead might not last long.'' said Timelapse. "So we need to move quickly, and since the Decepticons are hunting you, you're coming with us." said Blue Lightning. "I'm coming with you?" asked Jordan. "Your guardian will be Slapshot." "Why him?" asked Jordan. "You two have known each other the longest." said Blue Lightning. ''Relatively speaking." said Valentino. "Well then, I think it's time to roll out and head to D.C." said Blue Lightning. "Autobots, transform!" All of the Autobots then transformed and started heading to D.C.

Cincinnati, Ohio

1100 Hrs

"You let the boy get away!" Shouted the tank. "Look Cytrax, Slapshot appeared to save the boy. I couldn't fight him off." responded Recykill. "An excuse. Did you at least get any useful information?" asked Cytrax. "I found out that his father knows of the shard fragment locations." "So where is the father?" "In the Pacific ocean on ship called the U.S.S. Marino." "Good, I'll dispatch War Machine to get him for interrogation. But next time complete the whole mission, got it?'' "Yes Cytrax." "Good, you are dismissed." Recykill then walked away. "Rotor, G-Force, Sand Drifter, get in here!" "Yes Cytrax?" they all responded. "I want you three to follow the Autobots and eavesdrop on their conversations to get more information." "Understood Cytrax." the three Decepticons then transformed and left to follow the Autobots.

The Pacific ocean, U.S.S. Marino

0500 Hrs

"Everyone, report to the main deck! An unidentified aircraft carrier is approaching!" shouted a deck hand. The shout awoke Fredrick Wilker from his sleep. "What the, is this a drill or something?" Fredrick left his bunk and headed out onto the main deck and saw the aircraft carrier. "I don't recognize that ship. Is it friendly?" Just then the aircraft carrier shot two torpedoes at Fredrick's ship! "Holy mother of- Everyone, enter battle stations, this is not a drill, repeat, not a drill!" shouted the captain. then one of the Humvee on the aircraft carrier transformed and boarded the U.S.S. Marino and sent out a German Shepard which then transformed into a cybertronian dog of sorts. "K9, find Fredrick Wilker, sniff him out and bring him back to me." ordered the Humvee. The dog named K9 then proceeded to search the ship trying to find Fredrick. The Humvee, meanwhile was keeping the crew busy with heavy firepower with his shoulder turret and transformable hand that can turn into virtually any weapon he can think of and is physically capable of transforming into. Fredrick saw K9 rushing towards him and hid inside his bunk. K9 followed him in and started searching. Fredrick held his breath until K9 was just a few feet away, then Fredrick pulled out a pistol and tried to shoot K9. The bullets were ineffective though and K9 pounced and pinned him to the ground and dragged him back to the main deck and to the Humvee. "Good job K9. I'll give you your reward back on War Machine." he said while petting K9. He then grabbed Fredrick and ran back to the other aircraft carrier and lept on, along with K9. The aircraft carrier then fired several more torpedoes, sinking the U.S.S. Marino for good.

Point Pleasant, West Virginia

1700 Hrs

The Autobots were still driving to D.C. to get the first shard fragment. They had arrived in Point Pleasant, a small town in West Virginia only really known for mothman. "So, this is Point Pleasant eh? Kinda sucks, not gonna lie.'' said Valentino. "Hey! Try not to be so rude!" said Blue Lightning. "Well I'm sorry but if your town needs some dumb monster that doesn't exist to make you famous then you're desperate for attention." responded Valentino. "Whoa! Nice car!" said a citizen while pointing at Valentino. The citizen then rushed over to get a closer look. Valentino just drove away though. "Not gonna lie Valentino, you're kind of a douche sometimes, you know that." said Slapshot. "Why'd you think I scanned this vehicle? Gangsters used it and that fits me." said Valentino. ''You have to be the most rude and condescending Autobot out there." said Snapshot. "Look, let's try to stay focused on the task at hand. Jordan, see if you can rent out a parking garage or storage unit for us to use for the night." said Blue Lightning. ''I mean, I can try I guess." said Jordan. Slapshot then pulled over and dropped off Jordan to find a parking garage to use. "Hi, can I rent out five parking spots for the night?'' asked Jordan. ''Sure, fifty dollars." ''Fifty dollars?" "Yeah, ten per car." "Alright then, there goes my allowance for the past few weeks but OK, here you go, fifty dollars.'' "Thank you and enjoy your stay." Jordan then walked back to the Autobots. ''Ok I got some spots rented out for night, five of them so let's go." said Jordan. The Autobots then entered the parking garage except for Chopper and Arrowhead who just flew overhead in an unsuspecting manner. Valentino decided to leave the garage in the middle of the night while everyone else was asleep. He drove into some nearby woods to explore. He eventually ran into some campers so he hid behind some trees and turned off his headlights. "Do you think we'll see mothman tonight?" said one of the campers. "I sure hope so. I invested a lot into this trip just to see mothman.'' responded the other camper. "Oh, it's just some tourists." said Valentino. Then something flew down from the sky and into some trees in front of the tourists. "Is that mothman?!'' said the first camper. "Holy crap I think it is!" ''We actually found him!" ''You know I had some serious doubts about this but it was worth it." ''Take a picture, quick!" When they took the picture the flash went off, and when it did Valentino immediately recognized the flying object as not mothman, but the Decepticon G-Force! G-Force then shot and killed the tourists. Valentino tried to stealthily drive away but was heard almost immediately and so he raced out of the forest and back to the parking garage to tell the others, all while G-Force transformed into a jet and chased after him. "Autobots, I've found a Decepticon in some nearby woods and he is now chasing me!" said Valentino when he got back. "Which one is it?" asked Blue Lightning. "G-Force, and something tells me he's not alone." "How'd they find us?" asked Timelapse. "You can ask him yourself because he's here." said Snapshot while looking out a window. "Arrowhead, Chopper, chase him out of here and cause as little damage as possible." ordered Blue Lightning. "Got it.'' said Arrowhead. But then the Decepticon Rotor who's also a helicopter showed up! A dog fight had now started between the two Autobots and Decepticons. Then a militarized dune buggy showed up with four mounted turrets. "It's Sand Drifter!'' said Timelapse. "He's blocking our escape route!'' said Slapshot. "Cytrax, there's been a change of plans. We are engaging the Autobots.'' said Sand Drifter to Cytrax over the radio. "Don't underestimate the Autobots. You're outnumbered, get out of there and report back to the base. Same goes for Rotor and G-Force." ordered Cytrax. "Well, you heard him. Disengage and fall back to base!" said Sand Drifter. G-Force, Rotor and Sand Drifter then drove/flew away. "That was close." said Arrowhead. "You don't say.'' responded Chopper. "Well then, they're gone so I say we keep on going." said Slapshot. ''Good idea, let's go." ordered Blue Lightning.

Cincinnati, Ohio

0200 Hrs

"What were you three thinking!" said Cytrax. "We thought we could kill them, Pretty simple." said Sand Drifter. "But we did find out that the Autobots are heading to Washington D.C."said G-Force. "The first shard must be there." said Rotor. Then the Humvee drove into the base. ''Ah, Death Hand, have you gotten the father?" said Cytrax. "I've got the father, but don't thank me, thank K9!'' said Death Hand. "Anyway, here he is." "Good job. Recykill! Get in here for interrogation." ordered Cytrax. "Hello there Mr. Wilker. I hear that you know about the shard fragments, let's talk about that." said Recykill. "Why would I tell you those things?" said Fredrick. "Well first of all we know where your son is, and second of all we have various torture methods that will definitely work." said Recykill. "Decepticons, we're heading to Washington D.C. to get the first shard Fragment. And Recykill, you stay here and get as much information as possible." ordered Cytrax. ''Understood.'' responded Recykill. ''Everyone, Transform!'' said Cytrax. The Decepticons then transformed and started heading to Washington while Recykill stayed back.

Washington D.C.

0800Hrs

Alright Autobots, we've made it." said Blue Lightning. ''Find a secluded area to transform and meet up." They eventually met up and transformed. ''All right then, we need a plan that would reveal us the least. What do we do?" asked Timelapse. "How about I fly up there as a jet and just snatch it." suggested Arrowhead. "Not bad but it might look suspicious. Any other ideas?'' asked Blue Lightning. ''I can shoot it off the monument with my sniper." said Snapshot. "Wait, what if I use my teleportation ability to quickly teleport up there and out before anyone notices.'' said Blue Lightning. "I could use my shuriken." said Chopper. "Wait! The Decepticons are coming." said Timelapse. "And how exactly do you know that?" asked Valentino. "You doubted my ability to see into the future and time travel, well you were wrong to doubt." responded Timelapse. "God I hate how smug you are sometimes." said Valentino. ''And I hate how douchie you can be sometimes, so I guess we're even." said Timelapse. "Ah crap! That was good!'' exclaimed Slapshot. ''Autobots! Stop bickering! We have to work together to get that shard as fast as possible. Especially if the Decepticons are coming as we speak." said Blue Lightning. Just then the Autobots heard what sounded like transforming followed by a voice. ''Decepticons! Find the shard and kill any Autobots you find!'' "Oh no!" said Blue Lightning. "It's the Decepticons isn't it?" asked Jordan. ''Arrowhead, Tell Jordan what to do!" ordered Blue Lightning. "Alright then kid, oh and you too Kidd. I need you to get out of the city or at least as far away from the battlefield as possible. Timelapse, escort them to safety." ordered Arrowhead. "Understood. Alright kids you're coming with me." said Timelapse. "Stop calling me Kid God dammit!'' shouted Kidd. "Just shut up and go!'' said Jordan. "Autobots, we're going to have to engage the Decepticons. Let's go!'' ordered Blue Lightning. "Cytrax!'' yelled Blue Lightning. "Ah, Blue Lightning! Been a long time hasn't it." Cytrax smirked. "Yes it has my one eyed friend.'' responded Blue Lightning. "Cytrax! we've located the shard fragment. It's on top of that tall white tower over there." said Rotor. ''Good, go get it then!" ordered Cytrax. "Autobots! It's time to fight! Autobots, attack!" ordered Blue Lightning. "Decepticons, attack!" ordered Cytrax.

The two teams charged at each other before spreading out and entering battle positions. Snapshot climbed a building to set up his sniper rifle. "Chopper, Arrowhead, fly up and get the shard fragment!" ordered Blue Lightning. "Got it.'' said Chopper they then both transformed and flew towards the shard. "K9, get the boy and kill him and any Autobots that get in your way." ordered Death Hand. K9 then chased after Jordan. "G-Force, join Rotor and get the shard!'' ordered Cytrax. Blue Lightning got out his twin daggers while Cytrax equipped his missile launcher and mini-gun and they went for each other. Cytrax started to shoot with his mini-gun but Blue Lightning threw his dagger at Cytrax which hit his chest and then Blue Lightning teleported to his dagger and stabbed him with the other and started to electrocute Cytrax with the daggers. But Cytrax grabbed Blue Lightning by the throat and threw to the ground and stepped on his chest to pin him down as he readied his missile launcher. But then Snapshot shot Cytrax in the arm holding the missile launcher, making him drop it. Cytrax shot his mini-gun at Snapshot which ended up jamming his sniper which was his only weapon, so he retreated. Sand Drifter and Valentino were having a shoot out, with Valentino using his twin tommy guns while Sand Drifter used his four mounted turrets. "Hey, need any help?" asked Slapshot. "No, you?" responded Valentino. "Yeah actually, with him." Slapshot said while pointing to Death Hand. "Oh, I see. How about we switch opponents, and you deal with Sand Drifter." said Valentino. "Sounds fine to me." "Good, let's do that." They then switched opponents. Meanwhile Chopper, Arrowhead, Rotor and G-Force were all in a big aerial battle over the shard. Eventually G-Force transformed and landed on the monument to grab it but was stopped by Arrowhead ramming straight into him as a jet causing both of them to fall. Arrowhead then got out his katanas as G-Force activated his retractable arm blades. Meanwhile Jordan, Kidd and Timelapse were ducking and dodging through buildings and alleyways trying to get as far away from the battle as possible. "Keep moving! K9's after us. I'll hold him off!'' shouted Timelapse. K9 pounced onto Timelapse and started to claw at him as Timelapse got out his staff. Timelapse then grabbed K9 by the tail and threw him to the ground before smacking him with his staff into and threw a nearby wall. K9 pounced again, but this time was immediately smacked away with the staff. Timelapse then walked over and stepped on K9, pinning him. As Timelapse readied his staff for one big golf club style swing a missile was shot through his back! As he turned around to see what had shot him another missile hit him in the shoulder causing him to fly back and into a wall. It was Death Hand! "You dare try to kill K9 in front of me!'' shouted Death Hand as he rushed over to check on his pet. "Are you OK K9?" asked Death Hand. K9 brushed up against his master lovingly. Death Hand then turned around and grabbed Timelapse by the throat and did a choke slam! "K9, continue to chase the boy!" ordered Death Hand. "I'll deal with the Autobot! I'm going to very slowly and painfully kill you now!" Death Hand then tightened his grip on Timelapses throat. "Hey! If anyone's going to kill him then it's going to be me!'' "What? Oof!" Valentino then shot Death Hand in the face! Timelapse then kicked him away and picked up his staff as Valentino continued to shoot at Death Hand while Timelapse hit him with his staff. Eventually Timelapse used his staff to try to choke Death Hand, but Death Hand managed to grab his leg and toss him away before firing a missile at Valentino and charging at him, tackling him back into the main battle field. Blue Lightning slashed at Cytrax a couple times before Cytrax kicked him in the knee, partially crippling Blue Lightning. Cytrax then shot Blue Lightning with a point blank missile, causing Blue Lightning to go flying into a building! "Chopper! Get the shard now! I can't hold out much longer." ordered Blue Lightning. "Same here, my damn gun won't unjam!" said Snapshot. "We're out gunned and out matched!" shouted Slapshot. Arrowhead then got shot by four missiles by G-Force, which sent Arrowhead flying towards the Lincoln memorial. "Just get the shard and retreat!'' shouted Blue Lightning. "Rotor, stop him by any means necessary!" ordered Cytrax. Chopper then transformed on to the Washington monument to grab the shard, but Rotor tackled Chopper off of the monument, knocking the shard off of the monument. "Catch it, catch it now!" shouted Slapshot. The shard hit the ground and everyone scrambled to get the shard. ''Finally fixed it. Chopper, get the shard now, I'll give you cover fire!" said Snapshot. "Autobots, cover him." ordered Blue Lightning. "Decepticons, target Chopper with all of your fire power!" ordered Cytrax. Chopper then fired all of his missiles to hold back the Decepticons. Chopper then finally reached out and grabbed the shard. "I got it!'' said Chopper. "Great, now, Autobots retreat!" ordered Blue Lightning. The Autobots then all transformed and retreated. "Jordan, come with me.'' said Timelapse. "Alright Kidd let's go!'' said Jordan. ''Let's get out of here!'' said Blue Lightning. "Decepticons, head back to the base. We'll find out where the next shard is and get it before the Autobots do." said Cytrax. The Decepticons then transformed and went back to their own base.

Richmond, Virginia

1500 Hrs

''This is your house right?" asked Slapshot. "Yep, this is it." said Jordan. "Alright then, go on in." "Will I ever see you guys again?" "Probably not. For your safety you should stay here." "OK then, it's been quite the adventure." "Well it's not over yet, we still got five more shard fragments to get so we don't want you to get in danger.'' "Makes sense." "Well I guess this is goodbye then.'' "I guess so. Goodbye then." ''Goodbye.'' Slapshot then drove away as Jordan entered his house.

"Well then, where is the next fragment?'' asked Slapshot.

"Rio." said Blue Lightning. "That's a little far away isn't it?" asked Valentino. "I've got my staff that can open a space bridge. But it can only take us about a hundred miles or so." said Timelapse. "That still gives us a head start on the Decepticons for now.'' said Blue Lightning. ''We should get moving then.'' said Arrowhead. "Agreed." said Snapshot. ''Timelapse, power up the space bridge." ordered Blue Lightning. "On it." said Timelapse. The Autobots then teleported with the space bridge.

''So Recykill, where is the next shard fragment?" asked Cytrax. "Rio, on top of a statue of a religious figure.'' said Recykill. ''Good, We can redeem ourselves." said Cytrax. "There's also a shard in London, Tokyo, Sydney, and Egypt." said Recykill. "Ah! Very good! I'll dispatch War Machine to get the shard fragment in Tokyo. Recykill, I'm sending you, Sand Drifter, K9 and G-Force to London. You'll meet up with Postal Apocalypse and get the shard. The rest of us will go to Rio." ordered Cytrax. "Should I kill the hostage?" asked Recykill. ''Kill the entire family.'' ordered Cytrax. "With pleasure!" responded Recykill. "What! No! You leave them out of this!" demanded Fredrick. "Oh, that's not an option." Recykill then shot Fredrick and killed him. "I'll deal with the rest on my way to London." said Recykill. The Decepticons then transformed and split up to get the shard fragments across the globe.
