Clarke watched as 10k left with the others to do the trade, her eyes following down the lines of his body. She was itching to get back to her drawing pad and pencils, he was going to be her new favorite piece to draw, she could tell.

A soft poke to her back brought her out of her thoughts as she glanced over her shoulder.

"Can we talk?"

Clarke took in the puffy face of her friend, knowing she had been crying long into the night, and finished the bite in her mouth.

"Of course, let's go."

Octavia led Clarke down to her room in silence. Once there, she closed the door, motioning for Clarke to take a seat.

"I'm sorry, Clarke. I'm so, so, very sorry. I thought about what you said and took a good look at everything that I've done since we got here. I'm not proud of myself, nor am I happy with the things I've been doing. I don't know what I was thinking, I have no excuses and I don't want you to forgive me or trust me yet. I'll work on it so that you know you can. My brother as well. I know I've let you guys down, but please Clarke, I want to help you, I don't want to stop learning how to help you take care of everyone..."

As she started to babble and tear up, Clarke interrupted her. "I'm happy to see you listened to me and took the time to think. I didn't mean to hurt you, I had to make you see what a danger you were being, to yourself, but also others. We're all going to make mistakes, and we all need to learn from them, ok?"

Clarke pulled Octavia to her, hugging her tight as the tears slowed down.

"Thank you, Clarke. I promise I'll do better."

After eating, the girls went down to the clinic to study some medical books, knowing there was so much more to learn. It was the only way to, since going to school was a thing of the past. If they were lucky, one day they may find an older doctor to teach them, until then, this was going to have to do.

They stayed in there until hearing the animals had arrived, then excitedly left to go see them.

It took some time to unload the animals, as everyone wanted to peak at them, but 10k took control and in no time had it finished.

Afterward, he walked towards his room, aiming to have some quiet time to think. Before he could enter, a squeak followed by a voice gained his attention from the speakers above his head.

"Citizen Z is live folks, anyone that wishes to, please make your way to the main comm center pronto."

10k turned around and made his way there, already knowing that the rest of his group would be there as well. Might as well see what was going on, and have them all in one spot so they could talk after.

Clarke gathered up her notes on Murphy so far, knowing that Citizen Z had called in for an update. She wished she had better news for him. Or even more news.

Sure enough, when she walked in, Citizen Z looked right at her. "Clarke, just the lady I was waiting for. Are you able to give me an update on the package?"

She tried not to, she did, but she couldn't help herself as she rolled her eyes at what he was referring to Murphy as. It was on the tip of her tongue to remind him that Murphy was a person with a name.

"I am. I'm sorry to say that I'm in short supply of positive news. The virus in his body is slowing taking over. The good news is, it's not fast enough that he will ever turn into a full zombie. The bad news is that it is fast enough that it is causing his body to shut down, it's starting to deteriorate. I do not know if anything can be done to treat him or reverse what is going on, not without further testing. And I don't have the kind of equipment that would take. I will send them along with all my findings, in hopes that someone will be able to use what I found to help him."

She went on to suggest that if they were to reach their destination with him as healthy as he could be, that they would have to leave sooner rather than later. Citizen Z sat in silence for a moment, and she could see that he wasn't surprised by anything she said.

"If he is that bad, then I agree they need to head out and get this mission back on track. Let me map out the quickest route for them to take, then let's get these folks back on the road."

After he sent over the route, they printed out a few copies and handed them over to Warren. Who then cleared her throat, causing all eyes to turn to her. Her eyes were stubborn, cold, and narrowed, her arms crossed over her chest and her mouth was in a deep frown.

"With Murphy not getting a clean bill of health, I want to readdress an issue."

Clarke tensed, and though she didn't know it, so did 10k, both knowing what Warren meant.

Citizen Z asked what was wrong, and so Clarke listened as Warren said what she thought she would, her heart pounding,

"Since Murphy is sicker than we thought, I think, no our group thinks, that this person here who was bitten and survived, needs to do their duty and come with us to make the cure. We all agree that they should leave with us today." Warren ended with a sharp, confident nod of her head as if she knew she was right, and that there was no doubt everyone else would also agree with her and do as she wanted.

There was silence, no one knew what to say. It was agreed upon that they would not be giving Clarke up, not that Warren's group knew it was her. For them to say it was her duty to go after they had already told them she wouldn't be, and after they let them come here and helped them out. Well, it hurt.

And all of them felt the same? Clarke searched for, and found 10k, only to find him already looking at her. Even him? Did he feel the same? And why was it bothering her if he did?

10k could not believe the words coming out of Warren's mouth right now. What was she fracking thinking? To include him in what she said, knowing that he did not agree with it? That was it, that was the last straw. Any chance of him feeling like he was a part of her group, went up in smokes. Which was fine with him, he could be a lone wolf if he had to. He had been before.

He looked at Clarke. He was so sure it was her that Warren was so carelessly talking about taking away from here, from her group, from her friends. 10k could tell how close almost everyone was and knew Warren and her people would not be able to take Clarke without a fight. One she was unlikely to win. Not to toot his own horn, but especially if he wasn't helping her. Which he would not even think about doing.

Clarke was visibly, and rightfully, angry, and hurt. He didn't know why, but the hurt made him angrier. He had to make sure she knew that Warren was not talking for him.

"That's not true. I don't think that. Whoever the person was, they should stay here. It was already agreed on, and I can not agree with forcibly taking someone from their home, someone who has done nothing but help us. I don't want any part of that. I want to honor the agreement we already had in place."

The relief and gratefulness showing on Clarke's face were worth it. It was worth speaking up and breaking from the group he had been with for the past few months. Because that's what was going to happen, he already knew. Either he would be lucky and they would let him stay here, or he would go off on his own. Either way, he was completely done with Operation Bite-mark.

Bellamy, Warren, Octavia, and Garnett all started talking loudly, all trying to speak over the others, and no one was willing to back down and listen to anyone else. The tension in the room was heavy, draped over everyone like a thick coat. 10k was about to give a loud whistle to see if that would make them calm down when Monty walked over and flicked the lights a few times, causing them to stop.

"Lieutenant Roberta, Operation Bite-mark will resume as planned, without the aid of anyone currently living in this facility, other than the promise of supplies when you leave. I repeat, Operation Bite-mark will resume as planned, you are not to try and force anyone to leave with you. Is that clear?" Citizen Z glared at Murphy's group, daring them to go against him.

What was clear was that Warren was struggling with the orders, and with what she felt was this elusive person's duty to what was left of the world. Many sighs of relief were made when Warren grudgingly acknowledged the order, before turning on her heel, angrily marching out of the room. Most of her group followed, leaving only 10k and Doc behind. The latter of them seemed confused about what he was supposed to do.

"Kid.." Doc trailed off, his eyes searching 10k as if trying to figure out what he was thinking. "10k, what are you doing man? Are you splitting from us?"

Doc was someone he respected a lot, and maybe even cared about. Disappointing, or letting him down, wasn't what he wanted to do, and the decision he made might do that.

But what happens later, would he ever see him again? His stomach was in knots at the thought. He felt like he had a lump in his throat, the words were hard to come out.

"Yeah, yeah I am."
