Summary: Ryuu Zaou is generally a cheerful, optimistic teen, with just under average grade, who has a slight obsession with girls. However there is far more to him than that. He may not be book smart, but he is still more smart than he lets on. His parents own a few popular bakeries in the area. He has an older sister by a year, and a younger brother by two years. He is in the Earth Defense Club, and along with his friends have gained abilities and have been fighting the odd monsters that appear every week or so. But there is still more than that. Recently actual superheroes and villains have shown up fighting throughout the world, and Ryuu, unknown to the others, is stuck in the middle of it all having an existential crisis. Takes place during season one before the clubs find out who their enemy is.
Hello everyone!
I am starting up a new story which I hope to actually finish this time. I have recently gained inspiration on this, however there will hopefully be new updated relatively frequently but I am in college, and work, so I cannot make any promises on exact days and times for the updates.
I am working on the first chapter now, and will hopefully have it posted by the end of the week. But until then I hope you enjoy the prologue and if you enjoy it, have any questions, or notice anything off with spelling or grammar, feel free to comment. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!
Disclaimer: I do not own Cute High Earth Defense Club Love, or Happy Kiss. I just own the plot of the story.
A Hero or a Villain?
Prologue
The world is dying, and no it is not the fault of humanity. The world was always born to die eventually, it is the same with every mortal being that lives on its surface.
Since the beginning of time, there has been those who have in secret been tasked with protecting the world and extending it's lifeforce for as along as possible. Many of those people are never known or recognized for the work they do as it is kept in secret, but those that are, are known as gods.
Yes, I know that many believe the old gods to be fake, or just myths, but no, they were real people, not immortal or anything like that, but they were part of the secret society of people who have been working to protect the world from itself for thousands of years. But recently as the world is truly beginning to die, the protectors have been in a war with one another.
One side is the 'heroes' those who have strayed from the path of what they do and are revealing themselves as superheroes, and are using their abilities to stop the other's who are still doing what they have been doing for centuries, and protecting from the shadows. The other side had been labelled as villains, and the so-called heroes have been exposing them and getting them arrested one by one as they continue trying to do their one job which is to protect. The fights between them have caused an uproar with the press and many rooting for the heroes because they do not know any better, but the heroes seem to be the rotten ones of this story.
You might be wondering who I am and how I know all of this, well my name is Ryuu Zaou, and I am one of the protectors, and have been continuing to do my duty, as I have been raised. Which means I am also labelled as a villain. However like a couple others, I have made a mask and am wearing it whenever I am doing my job, so that way even if one of the 'heroes' picks a fight with me, as long as I am able to win the fight, I hopefully won't be revealed.
When my clubmates and I gained abilities through the bracelets, that still refuse to budge, my powers only grew, and I am concerned that if my abilities grew, then there is the possibility that they had gained actual abilities. If they did then they might also get pulled into this side of the world, but I am not planning on saying anything about it until they know something.
The only other protector within the eight of us, is that asshole Gero, who is thankfully also a "villain." He does not seem to be willing to let them know anything until necessary either, also valuing the rules that we are supposed to abide by, and most have abided by for centuries. Here are the first three.
Rule 1
Never let anyone into our conflicts who does not know anything.
Rule 2
Only let yourself be seen if necessary.
Rule 3
Work together and protect those who need protected, while taking out those who seek destruction.
Rule three seems to be one of the most necessary now as the fights between heroes and villains have gotten more and more frequent, hardly any 'villains' have been arrested or killed thankfully. Gero and I have fought together a couple times when necessary and we make a decent team when not bickering with one another. But the fights seem to raise one question that has yet to be answered.
The latest release of the Press Society's newspaper holds pictures of different heroes, and some of the villains that they had been able to take pictures of. But the headline reads, "Are they Heroes or Villains?" Which is the real question, who is a hero and who is a villain. Or is it all just a figment of our imagination?
