Rei Kumori

"Rei! Remember, after class today, come straight home, we are going to go and hang out with the Naras," said Keiko Kumori to her daughter. She was a beautiful women with black hair and sky-blue eyes. Her hair was short and stopped at her shoulders. She wore a long white dress and black heeled sandals. She was a retired ninja.

"I know, Oka-san," said Rei Kumori as she finished her breakfast. She had dark purple hair that stopped at her shoulders and sky-blue eyes. She wore a purple short sleeved shirt and dark blue pants with black ninja shoes.

"They have a son your age, he might be in your class," said Yusuke Kumori. He was a tall man with purple hair and matching purple eyes. He wore the standard Chunin cloths but was Jonin.

"Maybe he will be my friend?" asked Rei out loud as she took her plate to the sink for her mother to wash.

"Maybe," said Keiko.

"Well, off you go!" said Yusuke with a grin.

"I'm off!" said Rei as she ran out the door and to the Academy.

Once she got there, she noticed everyone was already lined up and just decided to pop into a spot at wait.

"Please be silent for the Hokage," said one of the Chunin. The children and parents all got quite as the Hokage began to speak.

~In Class~

"Now students, I know that some of you come from clans and have already started training, but here you will learn the fundaments," said the Sensei as he went on to explain some things to the students.

Rei had decided to sit in the back next to the wall. On her left was a boy from the Aburame clan.

"Today, we are only going to be going over somethings and then you can leave. If you are waiting for one of the older students, they will be getting out before us, so just go outside and meet with them," said Sensei.

~End of Class~

"So much for making a friend on thee first day," mumbled Rei to herself as she walked out of the gate, only to be knocked over by someone walking into her.

"Ow," she said.

"I'm so sorry!" said a girl as she got up and put her hand out to help Rei up.

"It's okay," said Rei as she looked at the girl in front of her. She had short blue hair and gold eyes. She wore a mint green shirt with brown pants and blue ninja shoes.

"My name is Ami Sora. This was my first day at the Academy," said Ami as Rei dusted off her pants.

"It was my first day too. My name is Rei Kumori. It's nice to meet you, Ami-chan," said Rei with a smile.

"Nice to meet you too! Did you make any friends?" asked Ami curiously.

"Nah, everyone seemed to have their own groups and the ones that didn't were too shy to want to talk to me," said Rei with a laugh.

"Well, I can be your first friend! We can hang out during lunch tomorrow! I have another friend named Usagi and I'm sure she would love to be your friend too!" said Ami with excitement.

"Sure! That would be great!" said Rei with a smile. "I have to go now. I'm supposed to meet my parents and we are supposed to hang out with some of their friends. I'll see you tomorrow, Ami-chan."

"Bye, Rei-chan!" said Ami as Rei began to run in a different direction.

'Well, that's one friend for the day, so that's good. I should be able to make one more friend tomorrow and we will see about the Nara boy later,' thought Rei as she ran home.

"I'm home," said Rei as she opened the door.

"Go freshen up and then we will go," said Keiko.

"Okay," said Rei as she went upstairs to the bathroom.

~At The Nara Compound~

"Now Rei, I know this is weird, but I promise you that the Nara's are nice people," said Yusuke as the walked up to the door. He then knocked.

A women with long dark brown hair and brown eyes opened the door. She was wearing a pink dress with a white apron.

"Hello, Keiko, Yusuke," said the women, she then looked at Rei. "This must be little Rei."

"Hi," said Rei with a shy smile.

"My name is Yoshino! Come in!" said Yoshino, letting the others in.

"What a lovely home," said Keiko.

"Shikaku! Shikamaru! Get over here! Now!" yelled Yoshino, scaring Rei, though her parents looked like it was normal.

'She's scary,' thought Rei as she heard two sets of foot step hurry to where they were waiting.

The first to make it to them was an older man with his hair in a ponytail that spiked up. He wore mesh and a jagged sweater. He also had some ninja pants on. Next to him was his little copy. A boy the same age as Rei who wore gray short sleeved shirt with his clan symbol on the front and dark brown pants. Both look terrified of Yoshino.

"Keiko and Yusuke are here with their daughter Rei-chan. Shikaku, I expect you to stay awake for conversations. Shikamaru, take rei-chan with you to play," said the women with glare, causing both males to nod. She then turned to Rei with a smile. "Go ahead and go with Shikamaru, I'm sure you two will have fun outside until dinner is ready."

"R-right," said Rei as she walked to Shikamaru. Once she got close to him, he turned and walked outside.

"Your mom is scary," she said to him once they were safely outside.

"I know," he sighed as they walked to the edge.

"What do you want to do?" asked Rei as they came upon a clearing in the forest.

"Take a nap," said Shikamaru as he laid down.

"Are you always this lazy, Shika-kun?"

"Yes," replied Shikamaru as he looked at her. 'Shika-kun?'

"Okay," said Rei as Shikamaru closed his eyes.

'Now I can nap. I guess she isn't that troublesome,' he thought as he got comfortable. He opened his eyes in shock when Rei laid her head on his stomach.

"If you're going to nap, I'm going to nap too. And I'm using you as a pillow," said the girl simply as she got comfortable. Shikamaru just grunted and closed his eyes.

~Around Dinner Time~

"Where could they be?" asked Yusuke out loud as he and Shikaku looked through the forest for the children.

"Shikamaru's place is near here," said Shikaku as the two continued to walk. He looked up and gave a short chuckle. "Found them."

"Well, then, now I feel bad," said Yusuke as he noticed the two children as well.

The two were asleep under a tree. During their sleep, the two had shifted. Shikamaru was still asleep on his back, his arms stretched out on his sides. On his right arm, Rei was sleeping. She had moved and was now facing Shikamaru.

"We should get them before Yoshino gets us," said Shikaku.

"Yeah," Yusuke chuckled as the two got closer. But when Yusuke stepped on a branch, Shikamaru scrunched up his face and shifted Rei to hold her closer.

Shikamaru moved to his side and pulled her close to himself. Rei just shifted closer to him and relaxed again. The two adults laughed at them.

"Shikamaru, Rei, wake up," said Shikaku as he stood over the two. The two slowly woke up and happened to look at each other. Both blushed and quickly moved away from each other.

"That's the fastest I ever seen you move without your mom being nearby," laughed Shikaku.

"My little girl is growing up," laughed Yusuke.

"Shut up!" yelled the two kids with blushed on their faces.

"Lets go back to the house and eat now," said Shikaku as he picked up Shikamaru. Yusuke picked up Rei and the two ran to the house.

~After Dinner~

"That was a wonderful dinner!" said Keiko as the Kumori family got ready to leave.

"I'll see you at school tomorrow, Shika-kun!" said Rei with a smile.

"How troublesome, but I guess so, Rei-chan," said Shikamaru with a smile as well.

The parents watched the two with a smile.

"Feel free to come by anytime you want, Rei-chan," said Yoshino with a smile.

"And you can come over whenever you want as well, Shikamaru-kun," said Keiko as she smiled at the boy.

"Thank you," said the two children with nice smiles.

'I made another friend today,' thought Rei with a smile toward Shikamaru who gave a lazy smirk back. 'I wonder what the future will hold.'
