Wolf was a child, even if she refused to see herself as one.

They all were, Benson was the oldest (Of the humans anyway) and he was only fourteen. Kipo was just barely thirteen. But Wolf? She was nine. A fact that everyone had an idea of, her exact age wasn't shared with the others, but nobody really considered.

It showed, sometimes. In the little things. Like how possessive she was of Stalkie, as well as the weapon's name itself. The way she clung to the weapon in her sleep, like a very pointy teddy bear.

The fact it was her weapon hid how childish it really was. Made her seem even more like a war torn warrior. But now that the weapon was broken? She had nothing to hide behind.

Kipo's eyes fluttered open, and she looked over to see Wolf curled next to her. Wrapped around her arm like she used to do with Stalkie. The pink haired girl smiled, reaching over and lightly brushing some of the hair away from the younger girl's eyes.

Wolf opened her eye, frowning softly before jumping back. Embarrassed.

"I… um…"

Kipo sat up, chuckling softly, "Relax. I don't mind."

"I mind." The young girl turned away, her back towards the leopard girl, "It's childish."

The older girl sighed, sliding over to sit beside her little sister, "Wolf, it's okay to be a little childish."

"Not out here it isn't."

"Maybe not when you're alone. But you're not alone anymore. We've got your back, no matter what."

Wolf curled up with her knees to her chest, glaring into the night. She didn't say anything else about it, and ignored Kipo when she tried.

Wolf frowned up at a small tree, before waving for Kipo to come over.

"What's up?" The pink haired girl asked.

Wolf took a deep breath, before speaking carefully, "I think I might have left a stash in this tree hollow before. Normally I'd use Stalkie to help me reach it, but…"

"You want me to pick you up?" The older girl tilted her head.

"Just so I can get it."

"Alright." Kipo picked her up, lifting her so she could see into the tree hollow.

"What are you guys doing?"

Wolf jumped at the sudden sound of Benson's voice, and nearly fell. Kipo caught her though, now holding her on her hip as she spoke to Benson.

"Wolf thinks she hid something here that could help us."

"I know I did." Wolf answered, "The question isn't whether I did or not, it's whether it's still there or not. Somebody else might have found it."

Benson nodded, but he was grinning for some reason.

Wolf narrowed her eyes, "What's so funny?"

"Nothing. You just look so little being held like that, it's cute."

She glared at him, and wiggled free of Kipo's grip. Crossing her arms and looking away with a huff, "Nevermind. You guys get it yourselves."

"Oh, come on Wolf!"

Dave, Benson, and Mondue were asleep. Curled up around the fire. Wolf stared blankly into the flames, trying to stay awake. She didn't trust this place they were in. Not one bit.

Kipo placed a hand on her shoulder, "Get some sleep. I can keep watch."

"I'm fine."

"You can barely keep your eyes open."

The younger girl looked up at her self proclaimed sister, before sighing and laying down, "Fine."

The burrow girl smiled, leaning down and placing a kiss on her forehead. Wolf stiffened slightly, and growled quietly. But, when the older girl returned to her watch unbothered, she pulled her hood down in an attempt to hide her face. Which had turned a light pink color.

She slept a little better than normal that night.

AN: I might make a second chapter of this one, but I don't know for sure. What do you guys think?
