Official Disclaimer

The characters of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett, Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly, Officer Kono Kalakaua, Agent Jenna O'Connor nee Kaye, Adam 'Toast' Charles, Kamekona and Governor Sam Denning do not belong to me in any fashion. I am merely using them for my own entertainment purposes.

The character of Lieutenant Danielle 'Danni' Williams probably can be considered to be mine by now. Although she was originally based on the male version of Danny, she soon evolved and became her own person. She has her own background, her own family and the history which goes with it, not to mention different character traits. That isn't to say that the Danny Williams we all know and love is completely gone, he still emerges through her at time. I like to think of female Danni as what Danny could have been like if everything in his life had gone his way. As in full custody of Grace and a decent relationship based in friendship with his ex.

The character of Grace has also changed slightly due to this change in Danni's character. Her surname for one is Taylor rather than Williams as this is her father's surname and was Danni's married name (Danni chose to revert back to her maiden name when divorced?. Her parents are also amicable which has also impacted Grace but never fear, she is still the sweetheart we all know and love, if anything she is even more of a character now.

The characters of Lieutenant Colonel David Williams, Supervisory Special Agent in charge Jack O'Connor, Lieutenant Commander Riley King, Lieutenant Louisa Palakiko-Cowan, Emily 'Emmy' McGarrett, James 'Jago' McGarrett, Oliver 'Ollie' McGarrett, Medical Examiner Rosamund 'Ros / Rosie' Lange do all belong to me so please do not use without first asking permission.

Any other character who might pop up who isn't instantly recognisable from the show probably belongs to me as well!

Chapter Three

Thursday Evening

"Here we go McG, we're at your stop." Riley remarked as he pulled his SUV to a halt outside of the McGarrett family home, absently putting the vehicle into park.

"Thanks for the lift home Buddy, I appreciate it." Steve replied as he reached up with his hand and rubbed tiredly at his eyes, taking a moment to simply sit there and gather himself together, knowing already that Riley would understand his need for quietness so he could mull over the job they had just done. It had lasted longer then they had expected it to and had ended up being more complicated with one of the SWAT team ending up with a bullet in his thigh which would need to be operated on. It had ended with half the bad guys dead in the morgue and the other half in a HPD cell waiting for someone to interview them.

By all things considered it was a tame day by Five-O standards which was something he knew he should be grateful for but seeing a man go down in front of his eyes brought back a lot of memories which he would prefer to remain buried.

"That's no problem, just take your time if you want. Ros has already dropped me a text this evening saying that she's being held up at work and will be late for dinner so there's nowhere right now that I need to be." Riley assured him as he leaned his head back against the seat, twisting his head around so he was looking at Steve, a searching look in his dark eyes before he turned and looked back out of the window screen, a slight frown on his face as he spoke. "Feels like there is something which is on your mind McG, you want to talk about it? Might help getting it out before you go into the house because you know Danni will pick up on it the moment she sees you." He offered quietly.

"There's lots of things on my mind and it would take a hell of a lot longer then some time in the front seat of your car to talk them out so I'm good though I appreciate it King." Steve replied shifting slightly on the seat before he continued speaking, bringing the conversation onto safer ground. "I hope that Danni and the kids like what I have planned for them, this is actually the first time that I've planned a vacation for us all so I need it to go well." He admitted, looking toward Riley in time to see the other man turn back to him with a look of surprise on his face.

"The first time you planned something like this?" He repeated. "I thought I heard Kono mention earlier in passing that you and Danni had gone away together with Grace and Emily when Emily was born so she could meet your families." He questioned curiously, a frown coming to his face when Steve nodded at him.

"We did go away when she was born, Kono was right" He confirmed. "But it was Dannii who took care of everything to do with that vacation. I literally just turned up when I was told to and she did everything else." He stated, casting his mind back to that time, a small smile coming to his face. Even to this day, his wife never failed to amaze him with just how much she could take on and balance on a daily basis and still somehow find the time to be there for him, their children and their friends whenever one of them needed her.

"Never let it be said that Danni McGarrett is not an impressive woman." Riley said, making Steve wonder not for the first time whether the younger man had been gifted with the ability to read his mind.

"That she is, but like I said, she took care of that vacation and it was amazing so this time I want to return the favour and give her an amazing vacation. Perhaps if I can prove to her that I can arrange something like this and balance work and family life with it then she'll let me help her out when she starts properly planning for our big vacation at the end of the year because it's too much for her to take one alone though she'll try to." Steve admitted on a sigh.

"Your big vacation at the end of the year? What are you talking about? You guys are going away again?" Riley questioned him, the rapid fire approach making Steve smile.

"Yeah, I haven't mentioned it to anyone at work yet but Danni, me and the kids are flying out to the mainland for six weeks at the end of the year. We'll be spending the first three weeks of the time in Maryland with my family and will be there for Thanksgiving with them and then we'll be flying over Vermont to Danni's family farm and spending Christmas and New Years with them before we come back home here to Hawaii. It sounds a long time but it makes sense since the whole point of us doing the trip in the first place is to introduce everyone to the twins and let them see Emmy, she's three now and the last time they saw her she was about five months, that's a massive change. We thought about doing it in two different trips but then there's always that chance that whoever we didn't visit first would get offended by that so yeah, one big long trip it is, then a couple of days off when we return and back to work. "

"For you both?" Riley asked him curiously.

Steve remained silent for a moment, tapping his fingertip against his tight before he spoke, picking up on the reluctance in his own voice.

"Yes, or rather Danni will be back when her maternity leave ends." He told him, glancing towards his best friend, instantly picking up on the thoughtful look on his face.

"You don't want Danni to come back to work do you?" He asked, keeping his voice mild.

"What? No of course I do, I…" his voice trailed off into a sigh as he shrugged. "It's not up to me, it's her decision just like it should be."

"True, but if it was up to you?" Riley pressed.

"Then… then I don't know" Steve admitted. "Danni is amazing at her job, like amazing, I didn't just pick her to be my partner because she happened to be there, I picked her because I could tell even from that first meeting that she knew what she was doing and what she was talking about. The fact she was willing to argue with me and to call me out on my bullshit merely cemented the idea in my head that she was someone who I wanted on my team and by my side rather then her being on the opposite side and going up against me because I'm not sure I would win against her." He said with a laugh as he shook his head.

"She is amazing" Riley agreed. "But there is clearly a but coming up."

"But things aren't the same are they? We have four children, three of whom are young and this job… well it's not exactly safe or stable and sometimes I think that…" Steve stopped abruptly, unwilling to put the thought into actual words to someone.

"That it would be better for the kids if one of you either stayed at home or had a stable job away from our line of work so there was little chance of Danni and you dying together and leaving the kids alone."

"Don't even say that out loud." Steve snapped, his eyes immediately flickering over to their house, trying to reassure himself that his family was safe within and were waiting for him to join them.

"Sorry" Riley replied. "I think it's something you need to speak to Danni about McG, it's a valid feeling and you never know, she may have had similar thoughts herself. Even if she didn't leave entirely she could still go part time or be a consultant on cases, that way she could still do what she was good at but remain with the kids. If I know you then you probably want one more kid, you always did want that large family."

"Five, including Grace would be perfect." Steve said with a shrug. "But that is dependant on what Danni wants, its her body after all and she might be done with pregnancy."

"That is true" Riley agreed with a nod of his head before steering the conversation back onto their previous topic. "There is no one out there who can deny that you have earned a nice long break."

"That we have." Steve agreed on a sigh.

"So I suggest that you actually start your vacation because unless I got a different memo to everyone else, that is what we're now on right?" Riley asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Yep, the Five-O taskforce is officially off duty and off the Rota until Wednesday next week. When I spoke to Governor Denning about it earlier and asked for the mandatory leave to be increased to Wednesday, he gave his word that we would remain undisturbed and that HPD and the SWAT team would step up to the plate in our absence and cover anything which came in." Steve said. "I did speak to Chin though and placed him in charge while I'm away just in case anything happens which is bad enough for our leave to be evoked."

"If you've put Chin in charge then we'll be in good hands. He is your temporary second in command after all while Danni takes her well earned Maternity leave, I mean having to carry around two McGarrett boys for nine months can't have been easy on her, especially when you take into account her slight build and lack of height." Riley pointed out, sounding impressed.

"Make sure you don't mention the lack of height thing to Danni because she would be liable to snap your head off." Steve warned him as he reached out and placed his hand on the door handle, jerking it towards him and pushing the door open, allowing the warm, heavily flower scented air into the interior of the SUV.

"I'll keep that in mind, its now time for you to go though." The younger man stated as he reached out and shoved against Steve's arm. "And don't worry about anything which might happen here because we have got everything completely under control. Whatever comes up, we'll deal with it in your absence, just go and enjoy being a husband and a Daddy for a change. The team won't fall apart just because you've decided to be sensible for once and take some time for yourself. I mean when was the last time for example that you spent more than a couple of days with your kids that wasn't interrupted by work in any fashion and I'm not including your two weeks paternity leave in this question." Steve opened his mouth to answer him before closing it when his mind came up blank." Exactly, so forget about the taskforce and just enjoy yourself on this vacation, which by the way, starts with you getting out of my car and going into your own home where your beautiful wife and kids are waiting for you, and for the love of all things good McG, remember to turn off your work cell phone."

"Come on Riley, I think you're mistaking me for you with the cell phone, I never forget something like that." Steve countered with a shake of his head before he reached down and unclipped his seatbelt, climbing out of the car onto the pavement. "And for the record, Danni and I also had a honeymoon off of the islands so I do know how to switch off and enjoy myself." He couldn't help but add, glaring at the dark haired man when he responded with a laugh.

"From the way that Danni tells that story she had to threaten you with divorce to get you to turn off your cell phone during the honeymoon." Riley replied, looking away from Steve and towards his own cell phone when it beeped loudly at him. Steve watched as he picked it up and looked down at the screen, reading something which brought a smirk on his face.

"Rosie?" Steve asked him.

"Rosie, she's messaging to say that she's managed to get out of work earlier than planned and is on route to my place which means that I've got to go. I'll see you on Wednesday in the office, have a good vacation McG and try to stay out of trouble, I know you find it hard." He remarked as he made a waving motion with his hand in Steve's direction.

"Alright, alright, I can take a hint, say hey to Red for me and apologises for us having to run off earlier when she arrived. Make sure you enjoy your own vacation as well." Steve told him before closing the car door and taking a step back from the vehicle, shaking his head when Riley shot away from the pavement, clearly intent on getting on with his own plans for the evening.

Steve turned and headed up the garden path which led to his front door, making a mental promise to himself to do some gardening the next weekend once they were back since the grass was beginning to look unruly and he knew that if he left it too long then Danni would take it upon herself to do and she had enough on her plate at the moment. He stopped outside the door, fishing his keys out of his pocket and selected the one he needed, placing it into the lock. He hesitated for a moment, taking in a deep breathe and said a silent pray to whoever was listening that his children would be nicely worn out by the day's activities and would go to bed easily that night instead of inflicting the usual bedtime battle which he and Danni fought with them on a daily basis.

He twisted the key and pushed open the door, stepping inside and closing it behind him. He looked to the side of him, noticing that the usual fresh flowers which were always in the crystal vase on the side table was empty for once, no doubt due to their pending trip. Danni had sent him a text earlier saying she was going shopping to get some things which she thought they would need for the vacation but he didn't actually ask her if she had managed to go with everything else that had been going on.

He bent over and unlaced his timberland boots, kicking them off before placing them neatly beside the small pair which belonged to his wife. He straightened and took another deep breathe, his stomach rumbling in appreciation to the delicious scent of food in the air which indicated that Danni was cooking dinner for them.

Steve moved in the direction of the kitchen, stopping abruptly when a small head popped up from the couch in the living room.

"Daddy!"

"Hey my little Emily." Steve crooned, immediately switching direction and heading over to the couch, lowering himself onto it and smiling when Emily immediately scrambled over to him and settled herself in his lap, her small arms wrapping tightly around him as she snuggled closer.

It didn't matter how much shit he saw on a daily basis and what he had to do in order to keep the streets of Hawaii safe, it was always worth it in his eyes if he made their home safer for his family. He could still remember one of the first conversations which he and Danni had together, on the same evening that they had met one another when they had still been hunting Victor Hesse. Danni had said something similar about wanting to keep Hawaii safe for Grace. He hadn't understood what she had meant until the day that Emily had been placed in his arms just after she had been born.

Now he understood all too well what she had meant.

He held her close now, savouring the hug before he placed a kiss on the wavy dark hair and leaned back so he could see into her happy face, her grey eyes, the exact shape and colour as her mother's eyes, stared at him seriously as she searched his face, making him wonder what was going on in her mind.

She had always been quiet, happy in her own company though it was clear enough that she loved being around her family and extended family.

"Daddy tired?" She asked finally, breaking the silence as she tilted her head to the side, the simple question causing his heart to swell at how kind Emily was.

"I am a bit sweetheart but not too badly." He answered her. "How was your day at kindergarten? Were you a good girl for your teacher and for Mamma like you said that you would be?" He asked her, unsurprised when she nodded at him, the serious look still there.

"Yes Daddy." She promised before her eyes dropped and a small frown came to her face. "Daddy hurt?" She questioned him suddenly, patting his injured arm gently with her small hand, the look of concern, so like Danni's that it left him breathless. The dark hair and smile might belong to him but everything else was from her mother, that much he knew for sure though Danni often tried to deny it, saying she was a part of them both combined.

"Daddy is fine, it's just a small owie baby girl." He told her, pressing a kiss against her forehead before he edged to the end of the couch and came to his feet, still holding her in his arms. He held her out for a moment in the air, smiling at her giggle as his eyes quickly swept over her to make sure that she was okay. It was no secret that Emily often ended up bumping into things because she was focused on something else.

"Mamma will kiss it better." She stated in a serene manner, confident in her mother's ability to make everything better.

"She certainly will." Steve agreed, smiling when he pulled her close again, resting his hand against her back as she snuggled in closer to him. "Speaking of Mamma shall we go and see her and the others?" He asked, giving her another kiss on the top of her head when she merely nodded at him. He moved back in the direction of the kitchen, going through the study before he entered it, his eyes glancing around the room before he focused on Danni who was currently hunched down in front of the oven, peering into it with a thoughtful frown on her face which he found adorable, though experience had taught him to keep thoughts like that to himself. A glance towards the table showed Grace setting it, already changed out of her school uniform into a pair of shorts and an old looking pink t-shirt while she chatted to Danni about the science project.

"Hey guys" Steve called out. "Something smells amazing in here so Emily and I thought we would come and check it out."

"Hey Uncle Steve, we were wondering when you would get home." Grace said happily, placing the remaining knives and forks on the table for a moment as she moved around it, giving him a quick hug of welcome and Emily a kiss on the cheek before she moved back to her previous spot, picking them up again and carried on with her task.

"Hey sweetheart." Danni added as she came to her feet. He noticed her eyes automatically going towards the two Moses baskets before she focused back on him and Emily. "How was the rest of your day, did you get everything sorted out with SWAT that you needed to?" She asked him.

"It was a long afternoon but everything turned out well in the end, at least for the good guys, one SWAT guy ended up in hospital but they will be okay." He replied leaning down slightly so he could place Emily on the floor, making sure she was steady before he bridged the gap between himself and Danni and bent his head down, capturing her lips in a soft kiss. He leaned back, resting his forehead against her for a moment, content to simply stared into her eyes before he forced himself to move back, knowing that now wasn't the time for this. "So what are we eating tonight and is there anything I can do to help you?" He offered.

"We are having Spaghetti Bolognese with homemade garlic bread. I was out later with the kids then I planned to be, mainly because we bumped into Amy, Billy and Alfie in the supermarket and got talking together so I just wanted to make something quick for us." She admitted with a shrug. "As for the offer of help. I do appreciate it Steve but Grace and I have already taken care of everything."

"Considering how good your Spaghetti Bolognese is I'm more then fine with having that tonight." Steve assured him with a wink before he headed towards the Moses baskets and peered inside, noting with a grin that while James was peacefully sleeping, Oliver was awake. "Hey, hey son of mine, how was your day today?" Steve said, reaching in and stroking his fingertips across Oliver's cheeks.

"He was smelly, Daddy" Emily announced quietly from where she was now wrapped around Danni's legs hugging her tightly.

"Smelly?" Steve repeated, shooting Danni and Grace a questioning look.

"What Emmy means Uncle Steve is that the twins somehow managed to synchronise having a poo with one another and the combined smell was so bad that it stunk out the interior of the car so Mamma was forced to open up all the windows just so we could breathe. It was vile, I thought that we were going to die from it." Grace told him with more then a hint of disgust in her voice, her nose wrinkling up, no doubt at the memory.

Steve laughed at the remark, looking back towards Oliver who was content to simply rest his head against Steve's shoulder, his small legs waving through the air while his brother slept peacefully on.

"I can well imagine what that must been like for you girls." Steve murmured with a shake of his head before focusing her attention on Danni when she spoke, a serious look on her face though he could easily detect the gleam of amusement in her eyes.

"That is one ability I can safely say they both inherited from their father rather than me." She told them dryly before leaning down and gently unwrapping Emily's hand from her leg, smiling down at her before she turned and moved back to the oven, picking up a spoon which was resting on the side and used it to stir the mixture bubbling away in the large pot.

"I think you'll find Danni, that they have inherited that particular talent from their Aunt Mary rather than from me specifically." Steve corrected her as he reached into the Moses basket and picked up Oliver, adjusting him against his shoulder, his large hand stroking up and down Oliver's back in a soothing motion. "Did I ever tell you Grace about the time that we were away on vacation when we were kids and Mary…" He stopped speaking abruptly when Grace interrupted him with a half alarmed, half concerned look on her face.

"You've already told me that story before Uncle Steve and I also heard exactly what Aunt Mary was planning on doing to you if you ever told anyone that story again. I'm pretty sure she said that she would kill you with her bare hands and she clearly meant it as well if the look on her face was any indication." Grace reminded him in a scolding tone, her hands dropping to her hips.

Steve blinked in surprise at the action.

He had lost track of just how many times he had seen Danni in the exact same pose with the exact same look on her face as she told him off for something which had had done or said. He suppose given how close mother and daughter were to each other that it was no real surprise that Grace had picked up on it and began doing it herself as well.

"Alright, alright, I promise that I won't tell the story about the vacation and Mary today or for the foreseeable future Grace, scouts honour." He promised her, holding up his hand in a classic scout pose. Grace stared hard at him for a moment longer, her dark green eyes narrowed thoughtfully before she gave him a single nod, her hands dropping away from her hips in a way which told him that she believed what he had promised. "Anyway, are you going to tell me how you did in your science project or am I meant to guess? Did your teacher give you first place for it?" He asked her, swiftly changing the subject, a grin coming to his face when her face lit up, giving him her answer before she could even speak.

"Yeah, we did win Uncle Steve, Ms Nightingale said that it was the best project that anyone had submitted by far and she said that she wants to enter it into a national contest which is held in Arizona but she thinks that Jamie and I stand a good chance of getting a medal for it. She said that Mamma or Dad would need to provide written consent and chaperone the trip but Jamie seems to think her mom would do it if neither Mamma or Dad could take the time off work to come." Grace explained, her eyes flickering over to Danni who spoke up, turning to face them both again.

"When is the competition Grace?" She asked the young girl, who bit her lip thoughtfully before answering her.

"It's going to be at the beginning of the school year so like early September I think. That gives us about two to three months odd for it." She answered. Danni nodded, placing the spoon she had been using to stir the sauce down on the side before twisting around and heading across the room to the large calendar which they had hung on the wall. She flipped it over until she was in September, taking a moment to scan it before she dropped it and smiled at Grace over her shoulder.

"September looks clear so I should be able to go with you for it Grace, I'll speak to your Dad and see if he wants to come as well, I know how much these events mean to him and to you as well. It's a good thing it's not in November or December because we'll be over on the mainland then visiting family" Danni remarked looking over at Grace who nodded at her looking relieved at the news that her parents would be with her on the trip.

"I've got a few spare days left of leave so when we have the date for it then let me know and I'll book the time off work. A small family vacation is always a good thing especially when we get to show everyone how brilliant Grace is." Steve said, sharing a grin with his stepdaughter.

He listened in as Grace and Danni spoke about he project and what it entailed as he cuddled Oliver closer to him, his eyes fixed on his young daughter who was hovering near to the oven, clearly wanting to peer inside. It was no secret to anyone that Emily loved her mother's cooking was fascinated in watching her making it and helping out when she could.

"I'm so glad that I can go Mamma, we have such a good chance to win and it would look awesome on my school record when it comes to going to college." Grace said, attracting Steve's attention back to her.

"It sounds like it would look good." Danni agreed with a smile before she glanced towards the kitchen door. "Dinner is just about ready to be served now so would you take your sister to the bathroom Grace and wash your hands?" She asked.

"Sure thing Mamma." Grace agreed easily as she moved over to Emily and picked the small girl up in her arms, looking down into her face as she spoke. "Come on Emmy, let's go and get you ready for dinner." She told her sister as they headed out of the door, leaving Steve and Danni relatively alone for the first time since he had gotten home from work.

Steve adjusted his hold on his son as he moved over to where Danni stood, stopping in front of her and wrapping his arm around her waist, pulling her close to him as he leaned his head down so he could brush a soft kiss against her mouth.

"I thought today would never come to an end Danni, literally all I could think about was you and me naked in our Jacuzzi, have you any idea just how difficult it is to help run a SWAT takedown when I had thoughts and images like that going around my mind on repeat?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow before dipping his head into the crook of her neck and lightly biting down on the junction where it met her shoulder, smiling against her skin when he heard her breathe hitch in response, her hand tightening on his arm.

"I imagine that if the images were anything like the ones which have been going through my head, then it would have been quite the challenge for you to overcome." She responded as her other hand came up to rest on the back of his neck, her fingers slipping into his hair.

"The only thing you should be imagining right now is exactly what I plan to do with you once we have the kids in bed. I promise you it will blow anything you have been thinking out of the water." He warned her, placing one more kiss on her neck before stepping back just as Grace and Emily returned to the room.

"Perfect timing girls, everyone come and take your usual seats because dinner is now served." Danni said, her eyes meeting Steve's in a way which caused him to smile slowly in response.

This evening would be worth the wait for them both.

Steve closed the bedroom door behind them quietly, twisting Danni around on the spot and pushing her back against it as he nibbled on her neck, her muffled moans of need turning her on even further.

They had finally gotten all three children asleep for the evening with James and Oliver resting in Emily's room for the evening so they could focus on each other and their needs without having to worry about the noises they made disturbing either young.

"You promised me the Jacuzzi remember" Danni gasped as Steve's hand went to work on taking off the dress she was wearing while her own hands, suddenly clumsy, tried desperately to pull his t-shirt off of him, trying to remember as she did that he was injured.

"Fuck the damn Jacuzzi Danni" Steve hissed back. "I can't sit around and wait for it to run, I need you now." He licked at the reddened spot on her neck, a sense of savage male pride racing through him at the thought that everyone they encountered over the next few days would be able to see his mark and to see the claim he had on her. No one who saw that bruise would think that Danni was on the market for anyone bar himself. "Finally" He murmured when her dress gave way, falling into a puddle around her feet leaving her wearing just her underwear. Steve leaned back, his eyes scanning her body, taking in the changes which had occurred during her latest pregnancy, his breathe catching as though someone had just sucker punched him directly into his gut. "God damn Ku'u Lei, you're so beautiful." He said roughly as he picked her up in his arms and moved over to their bed, placing her lightly down on top of the mattress before following her, keeping his weight on his forearms so he could hover over her and take in all of her reactions and expressions.

"So are you beloved." She told him sincerely before lifting her head up from the pillow and capturing his mouth with hers again, kissing him hard as her hands softly moved over his bare chest, scoring it lightly with her fingernails causing a groan to escape him.

"Danno, do you feel what you do to me? It's only you who can do this, it's always been you since the first day we met." He growled against her mouth.

"Fuck I love you." She responded breathlessly, her arms wrapping around his neck. "Show me beloved, show me how much you love me in return."

Steve growled as his hands roamed over her body, not holding back as he gripped her, his fingertips holding onto her in a way which he knew at the back of his mind would leave her with visible bruises. It had been too long since they had been able to be with each other this way and both were more than ready to resume their active sex life together. As her legs came up to wrap around him, he grabbed one of them, holding it hard against his torso as he moved down to her neck and bit down hard on her pulse point where he had bitten before, forcing a strangled cry to emerge from her mouth.

"Oh my Danni, the sounds that you make." He murmured against her skin, kissing his way back up until he latched onto her mouth again, nibbling at her lower lip until she parted it, giving him the access to who which he wanted, it was something which he had craved since the day he had met her though it had taken him time to realise just how strong his feelings for the woman beneath him were. He pulled back slightly, staring down at her flushed face, his heart swelling with his love for her, still unable to wrap his head around the fact that she was willing to put up with him both at home and at work. The fact that she had willingly given him three perfect children of his own and allowed him to have an active part in Grace's life blew his mind every time the thought of what his life now was passed through his mind.

She had given him a gift beyond measure and he would spend every day of his life showing her how much he appreciated it. Whatever she wanted he would make happen for her, regardless of what he would have to do to achieve it.

"Danni tell me what you want me to do" He questioned, running his hand up her bare side, resisting the strong urge to slip right into her waiting body and to pound into her so she would be feeling him for days afterwards.

"I need you hard… and fast… and God Steve please just go, more action, less talking." She groaned as the glint in his eyes hardened becoming more seductive making her feel exposed to him. She loved the look and loved the way it always made her feel. Steve looked at her like she was the only person in the world who mattered to him at that one moment in time and it was a heady feeling to experience. He took her mouth with his again, the kiss fiercer than the last time as he pushed her down into the mattress, blanketing her body with his own. She moved restlessly against him, her hand gripping his shoulders as her fingernails dug into his skin. "Please Steve please." She begged, uncaring that she was when his touch felt so good.

She brought her hands down, fumbling with the button on his cargo pants and helped him kick them off, moaning with desire when she saw that he had gone commando as well. She shivered, forcing her eyes open to see him staring down at her with a hungry look, only a sliver of blue surrounding his pupils which were blown with arousal.

"Danni" He growled as he used his knee to nudge her legs apart and settled between them, his hands never ceasing their movement as they moved over her body. "It's going to be fast." He warned her, panting in her ear as he forced himself to remain still, waiting for her response. If she had changed his mind and decided she wanted to go slowly then he could manage that at this stage, just about.

"Fast is good." She agreed, gasping when he grabbed her leg, lifting it high and entered her swiftly. She bit down on his shoulder hard, muffling her choked off scream.

Steve shuddered at the familiar sensation of warmth and tightness which greeted him. He hissed, stilling for a second as he spared her a quick look, taking in the mixture of joy and sheer relief on her face as she threw her head back, her hand pulling at him, trying to make him move. His eyes honed on the mark he had left on her neck earlier, latching onto it again as he began pounding into her, urged on by her frantic cries of pleasure. If he was being honest with himself, now that he was inside of her, he couldn't have gone slowly even if he had wanted to. He had been without her in this way too long and like an addict he needed his fix.

He reached down between them, his thumb rubbing against her clit, a groan escaping her when she suddenly clench around him as an orgasm hit her.

"Again beautiful, I want to see you break again." He demanded roughly, not easing his speed or intent, barely noticing when Danni bit down hard enough against the meat of his shoulder to pierce the skin and draw blood. It took only minutes before she shattered again beneath his onslaught. She opened her eyes, staring at him blindly as they continued to move when a noise broke through the sound of their ragged breathing and moans.

A sound which Danni couldn't quite identify over the hazy mist which had descended across her mind but one which she reacted to all the same. She heard Steve groan in annoyance, resting his head against her shoulder before he spoke.

"James or Oliver you are literally killing me." He muttered before lifting her head and meeting her eyes. "Stay here Ku'u Lei, I'll be right back to pick up where we stopped." He promised with another long kiss before he pulled out of her and rolled off of the bed. Danni watched him as he landed on his feet, pulling on a pair of sleep shorts and headed to the door, unlocking it and disappearing outside leaving her feeling boneless and content as she rested back against her comfortable pillow and waited for him to return.

Steve fought back the urge to punch the wall beside him as he moved slowly and painfully towards Emily's room. He opened the door carefully and moved silently in, his eyes landing on Emily's bed thankful to see that she was still fast asleep, cuddly her toy unicorn to her, clearly unaffected by her brother's cry. If she had been awake then it would have blown away any chances of him and Danni being able to resume where they had left off with one another.

He leaned over both Moses baskets which he had moved into Emily's room earlier and noted that it was Oliver who was moving about restless, James by some miracle had slept on. His heart clenched when he noticed that his youngest's face was fixed in an expression of sadness and frustration.

"Hey little man, what's wrong with you hey? Why are you making all this noise? Do you want to wake your brother and sister up?" Steve asked quietly as he leaned over the Moses basket and picked the small boy up, resting him against his shoulder as he brushed his hand over Oliver's nappy unsurprised to see that it was still dry. The cries which were escaping from Oliver still wasn't the usual cries he would make which would signal that he was wet or hungry so neither of them were the issue. "What is it? Daddy can't stand to see you cry." He admitted softly, snuggling closer to him and burying his nose into Oliver's fine blond hair, breathing in the familiar scent of baby shampoo which Danni used for their three children. Steve stroked his hand up and down his son's back as the baby squirmed restlessly in his hold. "It's okay Ollie, Daddy's here." He promised, his eyes widening when Oliver suddenly let out a large burp which surprised a laugh out of Steve. "Well that would certainly explain why you were upset if you were holding that in Oliver." Steve stated with a shake of his head.

Oliver made a small sound as though he was agreeing with what Steve was saying as he finally relaxed against Steve's shoulder. Steve held him close, continuing to stroke his hand up and down his son's back in an effort to dislodge any further wind that might have been trapped but it appeared that Oliver's large burp had cleared it out of his system.

Steve leaned down, looking into Oliver's face and breathed a thankful sigh when he saw that Oliver's eyes had drifted close, his breathing coming out steadily indicating that Oliver had fallen back asleep. Steve placed him gently in his crib, placing his favourite you near him and waited for a moment to make sure that he was still settled before he turned and left the room, closing the door behind him and ran lightly back to his and Danni's room, desperate to be back with his wife now that he knew their baby was happy and asleep again.

He pushed the door open and stepped into the bedroom, making sure that he closed the door behind him, his eyes already fixed on Danni who was seated in the middle of their bed, covered by the sheet and watching him with a concerned look. Her maternal instinct clearly overriding her desire for him for a moment.

"That sounded like it was Ollie, he is okay? Does he needed feeding again?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at him when he shook his head with a quiet laugh.

"He's absolutely fine Danni. He had some trapped wind which was causing him some pain but we soon got that dislodged. I'm surprised that you weren't able to hear the burp he made from in here." Steve told her as he kicked his shorts back off and began stalking towards the bed. "Now, where exactly were we before he were so rudely interrupted by our youngest son?" He asked with a predatory grin which grew when Danni visibly shivered beneath his gaze.

"I'm pretty sure that you were intent on trying to leave me with no brain matter." She answered, scooted up the mattress as he crawled after her, his eyes fixed on her face in a way which made her swallow hard, her breathe catching in her throat. "I love you by the way, I just thought I should tell you just in case you succeed in your mission of orgasming me to death." She said, her mouth curling up onto a smile when Steve let out a startled laugh at her comment.

"Well that goes right back to you Danielle." He responded with a wink at her before he wrapped his hands around her small ankles and pulled at them until she was lying flat on her back again. "That's more like where I left you, I did tell you to stay after all." He murmured as he blanketed her body with his, his mouth finding hers in a long kiss which caused her to moan. He knew there was nothing that Danni loved more than kissing.

"God, what you do to me Steve should be illegal." She whispered, her breathe escaping her when he slipped easily back into her waiting body. A look on his face as though he felt as though he had just come home.

"I could say the same thing about what you do Danni." He told her before he began moving again, this time slower, making his thrust linger until she was crying from it. It didn't take long until he stiffened, finally letting go as his own orgasm hit, a roar which he muffled against the pillow which Danni was resting on erupting from him before he sagged against her, nuzzling his face sleepily into her bare neck as she wrapped her arms around him, cuddling him close.

"I love you." She managed to say through her haze, hearing his sleepily returned declaration of love for her before she relaxed and fell into a dreamless sleep.
