Chapter 1

"Are you alright kid?" a student assistant asked a dazed first year male student that just submitted his papers to enter the arena, he came back to his senses and looked around before he returned his gaze to the pretty lady behind the assistance desk.

'What the, where am I? Did I?' the freshman tried remembering how he got there and where is he, he did not recognize the building, people nor the clothing.

"Here you go, take this and wait for your name, enter the arena and wait for your turn" the assistance lady interrupted his thought; he didn't think much of it and took back the papers and the identification card with his face on it.

'This is not my face, what the heck!' the freshmen thought as he looked at his Identification and entered their so called arena, to say he was surprised at the 'arena' was an understatement, he thought it was a fighting arena where people hit each other with their fists or choice of weapons but instead it is an arena where you can play a children's game in 3D, he recognized the monsters and the back of the cards, even the cringy declarations just before they play a card in a very serious manner, he placed his hands on his pockets and pinched his thighs really hard to check if it is actually real, tears came out at the side of his eyes and he thought they might as well be real because he really was transported in a world where your fate can be changed by a children's card game.

'Haaaaa' he breathed out.

'No time to panic and bitch about life, I have to think of the facts right now' he thought.

'I am transported to another world' he looked around and was able to find a restroom, he entered and stared at the mirror 'Black hair, black eyes, this body and my actual body have some slight difference but I can still see the similarities' he washed his hands and splashed his face with water so he can think more clearly, he went outside and look for a place to sit down on the bleachers.

'They are really here' he looked around the arena and was able to locate the main characters of the show he was transported in 'I really am transported in the GX world' was his final conclusion, he was in his deathbed before he woke up in this world, he signed the papers where he can donate his organs in case of his death, he was expecting it to happen but it came too soon.

'I guess this works too, to be transported in a world where the game that gave me a moment of peace in my already shitty life can change my life, I remembered that my friends and I even went stupid for this game once upon a time until they went ahead and 'grew up' to became respectable members of society' he smiled and while he didn't want to admit it, he cried, he wiped his tears and changed his frown into a smile, he is in a world where he knows he can be the best in.

'A new start in a world like this, why not, Yugi, I am coming for your title!' he declared in his head, determined to make his goal a reality this time now that he isn't tied down by any kind of sickness because he felt fine at the moment.

'Now, do I have a deck at least?' he patted his body and tried to look for a deck of cards to play with, he surmised that he would be playing soon because apparently he is a freshman who just entered in, he is not wearing any blue uniform so he didn't come from a prep school and would have to settle for being either in red or yellow after his match, he didn't bother checking what timeline he was in because he saw a really pretty girl, perhaps the prettiest girl he ever saw in his life, talking with a stoic looking guy with dark blue hair, he saw an obnoxious looking individual with his lackeys who is in the upper bleachers looking down at the people at the arena quite literally and figuratively and finally he sees someone with a light blue hair in the arena dueling a proctor nervously, he saw him together with Bastion who just entered the field where he would take his own examination.

'Here we go' he took out his identification again together with the decks, yes deck's' because he pulled out 3 deck holsters, but before he checked the contents of his holsters he first took a look at his new identity in detail this time 'Jin Anderson, not bad I suppose, am I a half breed in this world? I would have to find out if I have any parents or a guardian in this world too but that will have to wait after I passed this test'

He then opened the deck holster to find out what kind of cards he will be playing with, thankfully the cards he pulled out were very familiar to him because it was the cards that he built up from scratch since he first started and when he returned back to the game after how many years of pause 'Heh, this is good, they actually gave me my deck, whoever sent me here' he checked on his first deck, it was an experimental one that he was planning to finish before him and his friends stopped playing due to being busy with their personal lives.

'It seems that all xyz and synchro on my first 2 decks are removed, if they removed it on my 3rd deck then it would practically render it useless' he double checked his first 2 decks and he wasn't really able to find an xyz or synchro monster which was fine with him because those decks aren't reliant on his extra deck anyway, his last and main deck on the other hand was a different matter.

'Holy moly, they are here' he was able to find his main deck in its complete form, well complete in his point of view at least, he sifted through and double, triple checked and everything was there, together with its small amount of XYZ monsters and a bunch of Synchro ones.

'This will be my trump deck then, for when I face life threatening duels and I need a sure win, I would have to try and keep my second deck as hidden as possible too because it is too eye catching in this world and I don't need that kind of attention just yet, so that leaves me with my experimental' Jin with his new name and identity really wanted to play his second deck because even if it isn't his main its more solid than his experimental one and it has been with him since he was a kid, plus he is confident in winning with it.

It took Jin a while to decide on what deck to use and finished on the experimental, it isn't the best of his deck collections but it does not mean it's not powerful enough to let him land a win in the examination, he designed the experimental deck to take down his friends with their stupidly superior cards that he couldn't afford to buy, he also aptly named it The Strongest Weakling deck, its play style is in its name, he returned the decks in their respective holsters and secured them at his back, his experimental just on his hips for ease of access, all he have to do now is wait for his turn.

"Jin Anderson, I repeat, Jin Anderson, Please proceed to arena 7 for your practical examination" the announcer said over the sound system, Jin stood up and pumped himself for his duel, he is contemplating if he should think of a way to make some embarrassing poses and declarations but couldn't bring himself to do so, so he steeled his mind and opted to just go simple.

Jin's opponent is already in the arena with arms crossed, he has his sunglasses on even if he is inside a room where there is no sun, he waited for Jin to receive his dueling disk and take his position on the field before introducing himself to his newest victim.

"I am Adam and I will be your examiner today, your task is simple, win, if you lose then the Academy will not be admitting you today and you can try again next year, do you have any questions?" he asked his examinee.

Jin on the other hand did not listen and he is looking a little frazzled and odd in the eyes of the Examiner, he is tinkering with his disk like it was the first time that he used or seen it, it took a while but Jin was able to figure out how to use the foreign device.

'Damn, the anime made it look so easy, I couldn't even begin to understand where to find the buttons if I didn't ask the one who gave me the disk earlier' after Jin then introduced himself to his examiner "I am Jin and I will be in your care for today sir"

"If you want to enter this Academy then you better have more spine in your voice and answer me more clearly than that, here let me demonstrate, DUEL!" the examiner shouted not the less bit embarrassed, while his examinee just kept quiet and drew his cards to start the game.

Even though Jin isn't the one saying it, he felt really embarrassed at the examiners cringy declaration, he can only try to adjust to this worlds culture bit by bit "Duel" Jin replied in his normal voice, just enough for the examiner to hear it, the examiner pressed something in his disk and Jin did the same which officially started their life points at 4000.

'4000?! Oh no, I think I remember it, this world is still stuck in that kind of rule, I have to remember this later on, I also need to look for banned cards back in the old world that is legal in this world and add them to my deck' Jin thought as he saw the LP, his Examiner was about to start but they were interrupted by a yell and cheer coming from Arena 1, Jin looked around and was surprised to see that they were the only ones left performing their duel, he looked at the source of the cheering and was able to figure out why they were the only one left in his surroundings, it is the main protagonist of the GX world dueling his soon to be professor, their duel is getting all the attention of the students and teachers present in the place to the point that no one is looking at them.

'This is a good chance, thanks Jaden' Jin thanked his benefactor in his mind before urging the examiner who has his mouth open wide at what's happening in Arena 1 "Sir, please continue maybe you can finish this earlier and we can catch that duel happening on Arena 1" Arena 1 is grabbing the attention of all the students and teachers of the school and no one is paying any kind of attention to the dork who is playing in arena 7 and Jin wanted to take advantage of that.

The examiner nodded at this and drew his card "I summon Spear Dragon! 1900/0 And set down 3 face down cards and that will do it for my turn" Jin almost jumped out at the cards coming into reality, it was life like unlike when he watched those VR yugioh duels where the animation is simply lacking, he didn't even notice that he was staring too hard at the dragon.

"What's the matter? Are you already scared with just this? If that is the case then I urge you to quit and don't even think of coming to the school if that is the case, it is much more worse in there than this and if you are already intimidated with this kind of play then I doubt you will survive in the academy" the examiner tried to discourage Jin.

'Are you kidding me, if I give up now I wouldn't know where to go, I don't have money nor any concrete knowledge of this world, all I know is that I can duel' Jin drew his card and spoke "I apologize for staring too much sir, it's my first time looking at a real projection of the cards, I came from a poor family who couldn't afford a duel disk so please excuse me while I figure this out for a bit, I doubt it would be that long" Jin tried making something up so he can make a valid excuse for looking like an ignorant hick due to his earlier action.

"With that said, allow me to play a card, Heavy Storm" Jin played his lucky draw and destroyed the 3 face downs that the Examiner has.

"No, for it to be destroyed just like that" the examiner held his head in frustration.

'Oi, Oi, Oi there is no need to be overly dramatic just because of that, is there?'

"Before I continue, can I ask you something sir?" Jin tried to snap the examiner back to reality; Adam nodded at his examinee and gestured for him to ask his question.

"Thank you; are you using your real deck?" Jin asked purely out of curiosity.

"No, this deck is standard issued deck to be used for testing students and incoming students"

'So, winning this is meaningless, aside from getting inside the academy I haven't won anything else' Jin thought as he thanked his examiner.

"Let me finish this so we can go watch what's the commotion about in Arena 1" Jin declared an OTK.

"I admire your confidence but…." Jin didn't let the examiner finish and activated another spell card.

"I activate foolish burial; this card lets me send 1 monster to the graveyard" Jin searched his deck and found what he is looking for, he tossed the card to what he assumed is the graveyard on the disk and heaved a sigh of relief as the disk accepted his action, Jin didn't forget to reveal the card to the examiner who is confused at the new card he hasn't seen before.

"I then follow it up with a monster reborn to return back the monster I just sent to the graveyard; I summon Naturia Cherries 200/200 in attack position"

'It is a new kind of monster but it appears to be weak' the examiner confidently thought to himself as he saw the strange monster, Jin tried to look around and scan the people if someone is looking at them but thankfully nobody wasn't, as they were all still focused on the trash talking Crowler on arena 1.

'Good' "Now I summon Naturia Mosquito in attack position 200/300"

"You have talent to be able to summon 2 monsters in 1 turn but they won't even be able to penetrate my defenses, you may have destroyed my face downs but it appears that it does not matter that much" the examiner confidently mocked as he saw the weak looking and literally weak monsters Jin brought out.

"I am afraid this duel is finished sir, Naturia Cherries, attack!" Jin announced as he didn't know how the command will work and just took a guess, thankfully his monster moved and attacked the monster of the examiner.

"It appears that you passing that written exam was a fluke, you don't even know how to calculate"

"Sir, let me tell you something about my card, If my Naturia Cherries is sent to the graveyard by either your card effect or a battle with your monster, I can special summon 2 cherries on the field"

"And you will take a large amount of damage, is it really worth the trade?"

"Yes sir, because I am not the one who will be taking the damage, you see my Naturia Mosquito here has a special effect, all damage I take from battle that involves a Naturia monster will be dealt to you instead"

"But, But that would mean" the examiner has his mouth wide open.

"I win since I have 2 more monsters who can let you receive more damage, yes, Naturia Cherries don't hold back and attack" Jin was curious on how the attack would work because the monsters were somehow tangible and can hit a person, the cherries exploded and shards from their bodies went towards the examiner as his life points was completely depleted, he was pushed back and was forced to kneel but other than that, there are no major damage.

The Examiner approached Jin and shook his hands in congratulations.

"Good duel, keep it up and you will be in Obelisk blue sooner than later"

"Thank you sir for going easy with me" Jin received some paper from the examiner and instructions on what to do next, they would have to wait until everyone is finished with their duels before they proceed to the place where they will board a helicopter that will send them to the academy.

"It seems like there is something interesting going there in arena 1, can we go watch Sir?"

"Yes, of course, there is no need to stay here anymore, I shall see you back at the academy" the examiner turned his heel and looked for a good vantage point to watch the duel between Crowler and a new student, while Jin did the same but went the opposite way, he didn't even notice that he walked among the obnoxious Obelisk blue students.

'Just in time for the good part' Jin thought as he saw Jaden summon his winged kuriboh, he observed and leaned on the metal railings, he didn't bother looking at his side where there is a very surprised girl looking at him and being surprised at his daringness to approach her as there are limited number of males that have the guts to do so, she tapped his shoulders to get his attention, Jin turned his head and that was when he realized his mistake.

"There is a lot of open space right there, can you please move over?" Alexis asked.

"Ah yes, I apologize, let me move over there" Jin looked at her closely and couldn't help but blush, he also took a closer look at Zane who is almost glaring at him, but Jin didn't back down from his gaze, instead he smirked.

'Let's stir the cooking pot a bit shall we' Jin resolved himself "That's a mean gaze you have there, are you perhaps Zane Truesdale? I heard you are the best the Academy has to offer" Jin tried taunting but Zane didn't bite.

"You should show respect to your seniors and superiors" Zane turned his back and didn't pay any further attention to the nuisance in front of him.

"I see, then perhaps you should show your respect to me, you can look for me in the academy if you want to prove me wrong or put in me in my place, whichever you prefer" Jin turned around and went to a place where he can watch the duel in peace and he didn't notice it, but Zane tensed up and clenched his fist as he looked at the retreating back of Jin.

Alexis also stared wide eyed at the newbie who just issued a challenge to the best duelist of their generation that she knew of anyway 'Interesting, this year is filled with very interesting individuals, I can't wait to start the school year' she tried memorizing whatever detail she can remember of the newbie who tried getting Zane riled up
