Michiru Uchiha
A/N: If you would like to know more about Haruka Uchiha, please check out the connected story Love you, Weasel.
Though the Uchihas seem to be uncaring, the do care for their own. The Uchiha Orphanage is a show of that. Uchiha children who have lost everything are sent here and cared for by the clan.
Michiru Uchiha is one of these orphans.
Michiru lost her parents when she was two years old, though she doesn't remember them. They died while on a mission. She has been at the orphanage ever since.
The one thing about the Uchiha Orphanage is that, the children are never adopted. The reason being is that they become the children of everyone in the clan. The clan knows that, at any moment, that could be their child. Yes, the Uchiha clan is strong, but not invincible.
If there is one thing the orphanage makes sure of, is that all of the children are ready for the Academy. Michiru has trained since she turned four, and though not the best, she tries her hardest in everything she does.
"Michiru! Get ready! You start at the Academy today!" yelled one of the caretakers.
"I'm already ready!" yelled Michiru as she ran down the stairs to the kitchen to grab some food.
She had on a long-sleeved blue, high collared shirt with the clan symbol on the back. She also wore black shorts that stopped at her knees and blue ninja sandals. She had long dark blackish-blue hair up in a ponytail and the Uchiha dark eyes.
She quickly ate her food and ran out the door.
"I'm off!" she yelled as she closed the door and ran. 'I can't believe today is my first day! I hope I can make some friends! I don't have any my age.'
~At the Academy~
Michiru was standing apart from the group of kids around her. Just watching them.
'What do I say? What do I do?' I don't normally hang out with kids my age,' thought Michiru as she looked around.
"Um, Hi," said a voice. Michiru turned around to see a boy looking to the side with a light blush. He had on the normal blue Uchiha shirt with clan symbol and white shorts. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha and I saw that you're from the Uchiha clan too."
"Hi. I'm Michiru Uchiha," said Michiru, just as shyly.
"My Nii-san says that we should be friends," said Sasuke as he looked at Michiru with determination.
"Okay," said Michiru as she gave him a soft smile. "You're my first friend my age."
"Really?" asked Sasuke in surprise. Michiru nodded. "You're my first friend my age too!"
"Really!" said Michiru in excitement.
"Yeah! That must mean that we are meant to be friends!" declared Sasuke.
"Yeah!" said Michiru with a smile as the two started to move to stand in line.
'I made my first friend today! I hope Oto-san and Oka-san are watching!' thought Michiru as the Hokage took the stage.
'I did it!' thought Sasuke as he watched the Hokage.
~In Class~
"Now students, I know that some of you come from clans and have already started training, but here you will learn the fundaments," said the Sensei as he went on to explain some things to the students.
Michiru and Sasuke sat near the window. Sasuke next to the window and Michiru to his right. A shy looking Hyuga girl sitting on Michiru's right.
"Today, we are only going to be going over somethings and then you can leave. If you are waiting for one of the older students, they will be getting out before us, so just go outside and meet with them," said Sensei.
~After Class~
"Michiru-chan, do you wanna walk home together?" asked Sasuke to his new friend.
"Yeah!" said Michiru with a smile as the two walked to the gate. Sasuke then started running when he noticed his brother standing there.
"Itachi-nii!" he yelled as he hugged his brother.
"Hello Sasuke," said Itachi with a fond smile. He then noticed Michiru. "Did you make a friend today?"
"Yeah! Just like Haruka-nee said to! This is Michiru! She's from the Uchiha clan too!"
"Is that so," said Itachi with a smile as he turned to Michiru. "Well, my name is Itachi Uchiha. It's nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too, Itachi-san," said Michiru with a slight blush.
"Well, Haruka already left, so why don't we see if we can find where she and Shisui are training today?" said Itachi as he turned to leave.
"Yeah!" said Sasuke as he turned to Michiru and started to tell her all about Haruka and Shisui.
The group of three wondered into the forest near the Uchiha district, looking for Haruka and Shisui. Out of no were Itachi jumped onto a tree and caught a girl from around the waist.
She wore a black long-sleeved shirt that had her clan symbol on the back. On her elbows she wore guards. For pants, she wore tight dark blue shorts that stopped mid-thigh. Her ninja tools on her right leg and black ninja shoes. Her dark brown hair went a little past her butt.
"Got you," said Itachi.
"Wow! Nii-san! You caught her!" yelled an excited Sasuke, followed by Michiru.
"Itachi! Good job," said an older boy as he stopped next to him.
"Not fair, Itachi!" said the girl with a pout as Itachi jumped onto the ground in front of the children. He then let the girl go as the other boy came to stand next to the two.
"Who is this? Sasuke's girlfriend?" asked the boy as he noticed the little girl.
"She's not my girlfriend! Her name is Michiru and she's my friend!" said Sasuke as he puffed out his cheeks with a slight blush.
"Hello, my name is Michiru Uchiha. It's nice to meet you," said Michiru with a smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Michiru-chan. My name is Haruka Uchiha, and this idiot is Shisui Uchiha," said Haruka with a smile.
"Hey!" said Shisui, causing Itachi to chuckle. Shisui then turned to him with a smirk. "You know, I asked you if Haruka was your girlfriend when I first met you. You stuttered."
"That's because you tried to attack me," said Itachi with a light blush. "If I remember correctly, you were yelling about how no one can corrupt your baby sister."
The other three laughed at Shisui's pink face.
"Anyway, why don't we practice some kunai throwing?" Haruka asked the younger children.
"Yeah!" they yelled out happily as Haruka gave them each some kunai to throw.
'Is this what it's like to have family' thought Michiru as she watched Itachi and Shisui throw their kunai's.
"Now, Michiru-chan, turn your foot this way so you have better stability," said Shisui as he bent down and moved her foot.
"Okay, Shisui-san," said Michiru.
"Just call me Shisui-nii!" said Shisui with stars in his eyes.
"Itachi-nii! Shisui's trying to adopted kids again!" said Sasuke, causing Itachi to laugh.
Shisui then tried to stop their laughing by showing them a cool trick, only to have Haruka yell at him.
"Shisui! Don't show them something they aren't ready for!" yelled Haruka as she went up to stop Shisui. The others laughed.
~That Night~
"I'm back!" said Michiru as she walked into the house.
"You're back late," said one of the caretakers.
"I made friends today! One of them was with a boy my age!" she said, excitedly. Her caretaker smiled.
"That's great, Michiru-chan. Why don't you go and get ready for dinner now?"
"Right!" said Michiru as she ran to the bathroom. 'I am so happy! This is what I wanted. I can't wait to see Sasuke-kun and the others again!'
~A Few Months Later~
The five Uchihas celebrated birthdays as they came up and went about their lives.
Haruka, Sasuke, and Michiru went to the Academy. Sasuke and Michiru hung out and became best friends while Haruka stuck with Hana and Natsu, the three hoping to be on the same team when they graduate the following year.
Itachi joined Ambu and had less time to spend with the others, though Haruka had a way of pulling him and getting him to hang out with them.
Shisui was himself. He loved to help the others train and simply loved being called Shisui-nii.
Though, in October, everything changed for the children.
"Shisui-nii!" cried Sasuke as he and Michiru held onto Mikoto.
"I know it's hard, but we have to be strong," said Mikoto as she hugged the children.
'Why? Shisui-nii was the best. He was always there for us. Why did he have to go?' thought Michiru as she cried.
The two children cried until the exhausted themselves. Mikoto picked them both up and moved them to Sasuke's room. Laying them both down on his bed.
'They cried themselves to sleep,' thought Mikoto as she kissed them both on the head. The two children turned to each other and hugged one another in their sleep. 'I'm sorry that you both have to experience this, but death is normal in our world.'
"I need to go see Ai and Haruka," mumbled Mikoto as she got up. She closed the door behind her and began to walk to the front door.
