AN: I've been gone for quite awhile and I lost interest in writing altogether. I tried editing some of my old stories in hopes that it may help me with my writer's block, but I couldn't seem to find it in me to sit down and write, until now. For some reason, I was able to just sit down and type this chapter out in a day, so I hope you're satisfied with the outcome so far.
Here's to hoping you haven't given up on me. So please review.

Chapter Six
Everything was happening so fast. They were a blur; colliding into each other with the snap of their jaws and a swing of their claws.
I gripped at the rails while watching anxiously. All I could see were the clouds of dust that filled the area, making the young man across from me the only one visible -barely. He wasn't as nervous as I was; he was more involved with what was happening below us. He moved back and forth to try to catch a glimpse of the battle.
I panicked just as soon as I noticed one of the wolves flying towards the wall below me. His massive body thudded before he fell to the ground below him. I looked down and realized that it was one of the wolves I didn't know.
Already it was looking bad.
I looked up in a panic, noticing Sir Edward sitting in the skybox to the side from me. He stared down with a smile, along with a few others I didn't recognize other than Collin and Brady who stood at their posts on each side. I wasn't sure what was on his mind, but I was sure that it was far from what was on my mind.
Then there was another loud bang.
It was Paul -I was sure of it.
He had one of the opposing wolves pinned against the wall below me. I watched the horrid scene play before me as Paul grabbed the wolf by the scruff and lifting him by his strong jaw and throwing him into one of the cages before the gate automatically slammed shut.
More cages rose from the ground all around the stadium. I didn't know there would be cages.
The fight was intense. I couldn't tell who was winning.
The stadium had to at least be a couple miles across with trees and boulders spread out. It made it even more difficult to keep track of what was happening and if I was in any sort of danger. It seemed it was getting bigger.
All I could hear was the crowd screaming in excitement, and all I could do was squeeze my iron-grip onto the railing around me.
I felt like I should be doing something.
"AND THAT IS ONE WOLF IN DOWN FOR THE MAKAH PACK!" The announcer spoke.
On the screen above the crowd showed the wolf that Paul defeated, locked and angered as he slammed his body against the cage. The crowd cheered even louder. Sir Edward looked unamused. Collin cheered to himself. Brady smiled.
Then another. This time it was Jacob who through one of the opposing team's wolves in a cage just below the crowd. The announcers watched in anticipation and hyped the crowd up even more.
"THE MAKAH PACK HAS ONLY SIX LEFT, INCLUDING THEIR ALPHA." The one called Sam held the microphone like a showman. "IT LOOKS LIKE THE QUILEUTE PACK HAS THE ADVANTAGE! WHAT WILL THE ALPHA DO NEXT ONCE THE LIFTS ARE LOWERED AND THEIR PAWN IS EXPOSED OUT IN THE OPEN?"
I panicked as the crowd cheered again. I wasn't aware that the lift would be lowered. I don't think no one did because Sir Edward stood up and looked at me as if I was a goner. I knew then that I needed to think fast.
If the lift was going to be lowered, I had to think fast. I wasn't sure of the rules. Would I be permitted to phase? Would that be even a good idea? I haven't phased in a while that I was sure that I might have forgotten.
I looked across the stadium to the young man. He didn't look as frightened as I was. In fact, he looked like he was anticipating for this. I'm guessing that he might have been into battle before, which mean that he had the advantage over me.
Would he come for me?
A siren blared and the crowd screamed again.
The lift was lowering and the announcer began to explain what was happening next.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" The one they called Sam spoke, "THE PAWNS ARE NOW BEING LOWERED INTO THE STADIUM. RULES STATE THAT THEY WILL BE VULNERABLE TO THE OPPOSING PACK, BUT MUSTN'T BECOME INVOLVED INTO THE BATTLES AROUND THEM. THOUGH THEY ARE ENCOURAGED TO FACE EACH OTHER. WHICH MEANS THEY CAN PHASE."
"THAT'S RIGHT SAM," The other announcer Dean spoke, "THE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS WEAKEN THEIR OPPONENT, WHILST STILL ATTEMPTING TO AVOID THEIR ABDUCTION. THE ONLY WAY TO WIN IS TO CAPTURE THE OPPONENTS PAWN AND CAGE THEM INTO THAT CAGE, RIGHT THERE."
Dean pointed to a large cage that rose from the pile of boulders on the east end of the stadium, right in front of the crowd.
I was too caught up into finding out what was going on that I hadn't realized that the railings were gone and the boy that used to be across from me was gone, and in its place was a wolf charging into my direction. I took a glimpse up towards Sir Edward to receive a stern look.
I would seem to lose either way. I had to fight.
So I bolted to the west -away from the cage and towards the cloud of dust.
I had to be an idiot to run into the path of danger, but I figured that the dust would hide me until I could figure out how to phase in time to at least escape. I sure wasn't going to fight if I didn't have to -I didn't want to.
As I made my escape, I pulled off my shirt and tore my pants and focused all might into awakening the wolf in me.
My bones cracked and my skin stretched. It was agonizing. I hated phasing because of this. I didn't like the feeling. It almost felt as if I would never get used to this.
But here I stood, almost white as snow -if it hadn't been for the speckled black spots all over my fur.
My senses heightened and I was now more aware of my surroundings. I could almost feel the wolves move around me, and I could sense the danger coming from behind me, so I ran. I ran through the dust and over one of the cages that I almost collided into. The wolf below me snarled from inside as I practically sprung my hind legs forward until I could see where I was.
I needed to strategize. I needed to find out my next move before the other pawn found me. I needed to stay out of sight from the other wolves too. But that was becoming a task as well.
I never knew my abilities.
But speed must have been on my side. The wolf coming for me wasn't too far off. Luckily, I was able to disappear from his sight, but for some reason that didn't seem to help. It seemed that every wolf in the stadium was going crazy.
Each of them howled and I couldn't understand why.
The crowd even seemed surprised.
"FOLKS THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING STIRRING," Sam, the announcer speaks, "THE PACKS ARE BOTH ACTING STRANGE AND WE HOPE TO FIND OUT WHY."
Just then, everything went quiet.
The dust was disappearing. The rattling of cages stopped, and every one of the wolves was staring in my direction.
I panicked.
It all started happening so fast I wasn't sure of what exactly was happening.
Every wolf was coming at me from every direction. It was as if I was to go against each and every one of them, and I was going to lose.
That was until I could see one of Jacob's pack shove another one of the other wolves in a cage, and another. All that was left was the alpha, beta, and their pawn, and they were still coming for me. So I had to act fast.
With a swift move towards the opposing pawn, I stayed low and charged until I was close enough to swing my body at the larger wolf. Seeing how even looked younger than me, he was still bigger than I was, but I was faster.
As I swung my body around, my hind legs sprung forward until my paws dug their claws into the wolf's face. My body curled towards him enough for me to clamp my jaw onto his tail, pulling him until I could pull and swing his massive figure towards the wolves coming towards us.
Hoping that would help in some way, it didn't.
Even though the wolf was now in the danger zone, I still seemed to be.
I could see one of Jacob's pack members take hold of the wolf and practically drag the poor guy up the pile of rocks and boulders and toss him in the cage until the gates slammed shut. But the alpha of the opposing team was still coming for me.
"AND THE QUILEUTE PACK TAKES THE MATCH!" The announcer Dean speaks through the stadium.
"BUT THE QUINALT PACK IS STILL GOING FOR THE PAWN!" Sam says, "THIS COULD MEAN THE WOLF WHO THOUGHT HE MAY ESCAPE COULD BE IN DANGER."
I was now maneuvering through the tree-line on the North side of the stadium. The forest may have been smaller than most, but it was still enough to hopefully escape until Jacob and his pack could at least protect me.
But even that seemed to be a mistake.
I could see the drones above me, and they were sure to give away my location.
I could smell them getting closer, and their scents were coming off stronger and stranger than I ever encountered. It was making me vulnerable and I didn't like it.
I was able to hide in the small pool of water as I kept low, but it was cold, and I could still smell them.
I couldn't understand why I liked it.
I couldn't understand why I was so enamored by it. All of it.
"IT SEEMS EVEN THOUGH THE QUINALT PACK HAS ALREADY LOST THE FIGHT, THEY'RE STILL DETERMINED TO CAPTURE THE QUILEUTE'S PAWN." One of the announcers spoke. "IF THE PACK SUCCEEDS, THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED."
I had hoped that this would be the end of it, but something told me that it wouldn't be. If they couldn't find me, I was worried that I would practically give myself.
I was fighting with myself not to go towards the enticing scent.
"OH, IT SEEMS THE BETA OF THE QUINALT PACK HAS BEEN CAPTURED." The announcer spoke.
But before I could realize that it would just be the Quinalt alpha out there, he was now standing above me as I stayed in the cold water. He was approaching me his fangs exposed. He was snarling and his fur was erect.
But I didn't feel threatened.
It was like my wolf wanted this -whatever it was.
I was acting vulnerable, and he seemed pleased.
Then Jacob was here -standing behind me on the other end of the small pool of water.
I was surrounded by both alphas, and I seemed to enjoy the attention. I hated that I enjoyed the attention. But it was no longer on me.
I got the feeling that they wanted to kill each other.
Then it happened.
The battle for dominance.
Right in front of me, I watched as both alphas attacked each other. The announcers were distorted in the background as both alphas fought tooth and claw against each other. Jacob's pack watched.
I knew why too.
When alphas did this, it meant that no one was to interfere. It was practically pack law.
The other alpha seemed to be winning in this fight, and the others weren't too pleased. I couldn't understand why Jacob was being defeated, and it worried me. I don't know why, but it did. I wanted to do something, but I didn't know what.
Jacob was struggling to gain foot as the Quinault alpha held him down by his massive paw, his teeth sinking into Jacob scruff as he snarled from the pain. Jacob's body twisted as he pulled up, but the alpha wouldn't let go. He had a tight grip, and Jacob was losing.
So I threw my head back and howled.
I wasn't thinking, just acting.
And that seemed to distract the Quinalt alpha long enough for Jacob to pull back and kick forward until he sent the Quinalt alpha flying in the opposite direction.
The Quinalt alpha wasn't giving up, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the fight from above. There were a few more drone's flying from above, and the crowd seemed to scream louder.
Right before us, the Quinault alpha raced forward again and clashed with Jacob, both snapping their jaws at each other, their massive claws flinging and connecting with the other wolf. It was as nerve-wracking.
Even though Jacob had a few injuries, he seemed insistent on evening the score by taking hold of the Quinault alpha. The alpha struggled as Jacob practically dragged him until he was able to fully lift him up and slam the alpha into the ground. The Quinalt alpha yelped before pulling his body back until Jacob had almost lost grip, so Jacob clamped on tighter and yanked the alpha again and lifted him and swung the alpha above him and tumbling to the side until they were in the water again.
Right before our eyes, Jacob shoved his paw into the alpha's neck and twisted his jaw until we could see the Quinalt alpha's neck snap and his body drop into the water.
The crowd gasped. Then cheered.
I couldn't celebrate though.
Because Jacob was now staring at me.
His eyes were dark. Blood trickled down his from his muzzle. Steam came from his nostrils. His body stood tall now as he began to walk towards me. I was about to back away when I noticed his pack was moving in closer. I had no escape, and I wasn't sure what was in store for me. I was sure that I was doomed.
That strong scent was gone now. And I was sure it came from him.
What did he do to me?
It was almost as if I was ready to obey him now, and that frightened me more than anything.
He and his pack now circled me, each watched as Jacob now stood above me.
My ears flattened and I cowered before him. I felt like a child being scorned for doing something wrong and was about to be punished.
I was correct to believe so because Jacob snapped forward and took hold of me. I shook in a panic and snarled to break free, but that wasn't happening. Before I could think, he had me under him.
His massive body covered mine now, and his teeth sunk into my neck.
It didn't hurt though.
It felt right.
I felt like I belonged, and I wasn't sure what that meant. I wasn't sure if I was okay with it either.
He marked me.
To be marked usually meant that you were a part of the pack, but I couldn't understand why it felt like so much more.
He was still on top of me, and I stayed still.
I could feel his warmth overtake me. He was moving above me, motioning and rubbing his large body against me. I was alert over the fact that I could feel his erection jab into my backside. He was covering me with his scent, and I was scared.
The moment he let up, I bolted forward and turned from him.
He still stared at me as if I was doing something wrong, and his pack wasn't letting me go anywhere.
"DID THE ALPHA JUST STAKE A CLAIM ON THE RUNT?" The announcer questioned.
Jacob pushed me forward. The pack surrounds us still as he practically shoved me in the same direction they were walking.
"I THINK HE DID?" The other announcer sounded just as confused as the rest of us.
If that's what Jacob was doing, it didn't make any sense at all. An alpha would never claim a runt as his mate, and a male for that matter. It was never heard of, at least I had never heard of it.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" Dean spoke as we came into the clearing, "IT SEEMS THAT THE ALPHA OF THE QUILEUTE PACK HAS STAKED A CLAIM ON THE RUNT! RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES, WE WITNESSED ONE OF THE LEAGUES STRONGEST ALPHA'S MAKE A CONFUSING RITUAL."
The audience was yelling about how this was all an abomination. How it was wrong. How I should be killed.
This must've bothered Jacob seeing how he moved closer to me and snarled at them.
"AW, BUT YOU'RE FORGETTING DEAN," Sam now spoke as we continued to walk forward. I noticed Sir Edward didn't look pleased. "THE QUILEUTE ALPHA HAS BROKEN ONE OF THE RULES AND KILLED THE ALPHA OF THE QUINALT ALPHA. THIS COULD MEAN DISQUALIFICATION FOR HIM AND HIS PACK FROM THE COLLAR WARS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!"
"OF COURSE, A DECISION NEEDS TO BE MADE WITH THE COUNCIL." Dean turned to the row of gentlemen sitting in one of the platforms next to Sir Edward. "UNTIL THEN, THE QUILEUTE PACK WILL BE ESCORTED TO THEIR TRAILERS."
We were now surrounded by guards, all escorting us through the exit and into the stadium's underground chambers.
I more confused now because the guard was now fighting with Jacob and his pack to get to me. Like animals, the guards prodded them with high-voltage tasers, causing them all to fall weak and wrangle a capture-rod around my neck and pull me away.
I didn't see a point in struggling seeing how they had a taser threatening to use on me.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" I watched as I saw Sam and Felix approach.
"There is no need for any unnecessary brutality." Sam took the rod from the guard and pulled it from my neck. "He's done no harm to anyone, and if you value your life, you would intimidate alpha and his mate."
I stared at him in shock as Felix stood beside me, now nudging me to follow him.
Sam snapped the rod in half and commanded his men to retrieve the others. I was even more confused as Felix told me to just continue to follow him to the trailers.
None of it was making sense.
What was going to happen to us?
"Phase back," Felix ordered, "I have your clothes. You're going to wait in here until Sir Edward gets here."
I put my head down and focused on my human form. Just like phasing into my wolf, it hurt. My bones crack and my body realigned itself into its human until I was kneeling naked before Felix. He quickly handed me my clothes and practically pushed towards the bus door.
I was in the same one that Jacob and his pack came in.
I put the clothes on provided to me and watched through the tinted windows to see Jacob and the others now approaching with a few of Sam's men. They were all naked and looked a bit beat up. But that wasn't what caught my eye though. It was Sir Edward.
"YOU IDIOT!" Sir Edward swung and backhanded Jacob from where he stood.
The pack and the men became alert. Brady and Collin stood in the background as they watched the scene play before them.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA THE CHAOS YOU MAY HAVE CAUSED?" Sir Edward questioned, "NOT ONLY DID YOU FIGURE YOU'D CLAIM ONE OF MY SERVANTS, BUT YOU RAISED QUESTIONS FOR THE LEAGUE ENTIRELY!"
"HE BELONGS TO ME!" Jacob replied angrily.
"I WILL SAY IF HE BELONGS TO YOU!" Sir Edward shouted back, "DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT THE LEAGUE WILL IGNORE THIS? THEY'LL NOT ONLY THINK OF YOU AND YOUR SO-CALLED-MATE AS ABOMINATION, BUT THEY WILL TURN HEADS TO YOUR PACK AS WELL."
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHAT THOSE BLOODSUCKERS THINK!" Jacob shouted back, only to receive another hit from Sir Edward.
"DON'T YOU THINK THAT YOU'RE NOT DISPOSABLE JACOB," Sir Edward seethed, "IF THE LEAGUE DECIDES THAT YOU'RE DISQUALIFIED, YOUR PACK WILL BE TAINTED WITH THIS INFRACTION."
Sir Edward paced and turned to Jacob again, "You killed Vladimir's alpha."
"I'd do it again," Jacob spoke. It was muffled, but I could still hear them.
"See that's the thing, Jacob." Sir Edward spoke again, "whatever the league's decision may be, Vladimir can attest to claim your beta to lead his fighters."
They both looked at Paul.
"Fuck that." Paul glared. "There's no way I'm leaving my pack."
"Message for Sir Edward," a woman approached with two guards following her. She handed him a piece of paper.
Sir Edward open the folded paper and read aloud.
All parties to which competed in today's event in the Collar Wars are obligated to return to their estates until the league comes to a full conclusion on the outcome of the Cullen Estate's actions. The pack will be disqualified until the trial begins in a week from today. Both of the Roman Estate and Cullen Estate will agree to hold off contact between each estate until the trial date. Any derogatory actions towards these obligations will face further consequences that could lead to a death penalty for the source of infliction.
"Source of infliction?" Jacob puzzled. "What the hell does that mean?"
"It means they will kill Seth." Sir Edward said bluntly.
"They can't do that!" Jacob argued.
"Then I suggest you behave." Sir Edward handed the paper to Felix before ordering him to retrieve me. "Be sure that he is brought back to the limousine with the others."
Felix nodded and opened the door to call me. I followed him a bit shook. I could face death if something were to go wrong. I would be penalized for practically existing.
I stepped out of the bus to see Jacob and his pack stare me down. The all watched me as both Sam and Felix led me to the vehicle ahead. They were all still naked, some of the faces and bodies covered with dried up blood from their now-healed wounds.
Jacob just watched me, and I looked at him blankly until I was pushed into the car after Collin. Sir Edward now behind me.
"You caused a guffaw today." Sir Edward spoke.
I stared down at my feet shamefully.
"I was beginning to think I didn't have a use for you." His voice sounded different. "If the trial is void, and if you are Jacob's mate, then maybe you can join them in battle."
"I hope they kill him too," Brady muttered.
I looked at him in anger.
"Now that is so insincere Brady." Sir Edward smiled mischievously. "For someone who still needs to find rank in any pack whatsoever, you sure know how to run that little mouth of yours."
Brady mumbled to himself.
"Until the trial begins, you'll be accommodated in the chambers with the rest of the pack." I looked at Sir Edward surprised, "I can't have Jacob misbehave now, can I?"
I nodded in defeat.
"Good." Sir Edward sipped his Bloody Mary. "Now get some rest, this next week could be long for you."
I moved next to Collin and leaned against the seat. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but all that I could think of was, what do I do?
I'm so screwed.
AN: So, review. I'm going to try to update as often again. I do want to finish this one.
