Hiraki and Serena are childhood friends and have deflected from Academia after learning its true goals. However, Hiraki has presumably been taken away by them after losing a duel. To save him, the Lancers have to make their way to the Fusion Dimension but this will be no easy task due to the Unifiers of Chaos standing in their way, pursuing the 2 remaining Dimensional girls.

Author's Note: Hey, everyone! Sorry, it took so long for this chapter to come out. No, I didn't leave the story. I just went on hiatus for a bit. I was getting worn down by the story and I didn't want to abandon it so I took a break. In the meantime, though, I started a My Hero Academia Story! I welcome all of you to go read it in case you don't see any updates in the story. But I do promise that I'll finish this story, do no need to worry.

Final Wishes

"Alright, I suppose I'll take your word for it, Shun." Makoto mused, a grin gracing his features."Let us not waste further time. It's my move now! I draw! I hope you're ready for this next move, Shun because it might be the last of this duel! I summon Evilswarm Shallowman!"

Evilswarm Shallowman Level 4 Dark, Fiend, ATK: 200, DEF: 1500

"Shallowman's effect activates, I can Special Summon a copy of itself from my Deck! Appear, my second copy of Shallowman!"

Evilswarm Shallowman Level 4 Dark, Fiend, ATK: 200, DEF: 1500 x2

"I overlay the two-level 4s Shallowman!" Both monsters entered a black vortex as Makoto began chanting."Entity that hides in the silence of the darkest hour! When the clock strikes 12, make your entrance to the world of the living! XYZ Summon! Appear, Rank 4! Evilswarm Black Observer!"

A dark shadow appeared on the field. It had no other features other than its wide white eyes that stared down at Kurosaki.

"You really have a nag for using the most disturbing monsters ever," Kurosaki muttered upon seeing the black entity.

"I suppose we both have our different preferences. Like you have your metallic falcons, Kaito his dragon and Ruri her fairies."

Kaito clicked his tongue. Truthfully, he always found Makoto's taste rather odd, but this was too much.

"Either way, it's all the same. Whether I use demons or simple kittens to destroy you. My objective is to eradicate you and keep you from reaching Ruri. Nothing more. I activate Black Observer's effect! I detach an Overlay Unit! It can attack you directly and it gains 300 ATKs per monster on the field beside itself! That will be 600 ATKs!"

Evilswarm Black Observer ATK: 600

Kurosaki rushed to an Action Card that was on the side of the field but was quickly intercepted by the creature. It stood there, staring deeply into his eyes before giving a terrifying scream that caused Shun to jumped back and land on his back.

Shun LP: 3400

"Black Observer's attack cannot be avoided, no matter what." The monster was pulled back to its original spot and cocked its head in an inhuman way. One could swear that it was beyond broken at that point."The next attack! Go, Nightmare!"

"Not so fast, Makoto! I activate the Trap Card, Raidraptor Ammo! I can Special Summon a "Raidraptor" monster from my Graveyard in defense mode! And you are forced to attack it! Appear, Raidraptor - Wild Vulture!"

Raidraptor - Wild Vulture Level 6, Dark, Winged-Beast, ATK: 1600, DEF: 2000

Nightmare destroyed Wild Vulture easily before returning to its field.

"I set a card and end my turn," Makoto concluded.

Makoto hand: 3

"Tch!" Kurosaki spat at the ground."This is going to be as hard as I thought it would."

"Shun, let me know if you want me to jump in and help you." Kaito tried to persuade him."You don't have to do this alone."

"I know. But it's better if one of us does it just in case. If I fail here, I trust that you will be left to save them on my stead."

Kaito was taken back by those words.'Shun...do you not have any hope in winning this duel...?'

"It's my turn! I draw! I flip Summon Raidraptor - Fiend Eagle! And since it's a Flip Summon, your Nightmare's effect won't take effect! Now, by detaching an Overlay Unit, I activate Fiend Eagle's effect! You'll take damage equal to the original ATK of a Special Summoned monster you control! The one that's being targetted is Evilswarm Nightmare!"

Lightning struck down on Makoto, causing him to cry out in pain

Makoto LP: 4000-950=3050

"However, since you just lost an Overlay Unit, your Fiend Eagle will lose 300 ATKs!"

Raidraptor- Fiend Eagle ATK: 1300

"Battle! I attack Nightmare with Fiend Eagle!" Shun commanded. Makoto bit his lower lip and began scanning the area around him. He began jumping on platforms and grabbed an Action Card that was on it.

"This truly will benefit me! I activate the Action Card, Damage Calculator! When a monster I control is destroyed..." He covered himself from the shockwave of the explosion after Nightmare was destroyed."...then I will gain LP instead of losing them!"

Makoto LP: 3050+350=3400

"He's gained LP with that attack." Kaito observed."But still, that bothersome monster of his is gone."

"That may be true but...Black Observer is still in play! I activate its Special Effect! I can inflict you 300 points of damage every time you declare an attack!" Black Observer suddenly appeared in front of Shun and let out another loud screech.

Shun LP: 3100

"He managed to gain LP and inflict some damage to me." Kurosaki allowed himself a small smile."Glad to see you're still as resourceful as ever. I end my turn."

Shun hand: 2

"And you're still as naive as ever. It's sad. I had expected you would grow out of it eventually." He looked over his shoulder back at the door of the tower."There's so much at stake, you do realize that, right?"

"I do. But you are also my main concern." He spoke calmly."I'm going to save you too. Now that both of you are within my reach, all I have to do is do the effort."

"Ha! You think so? Then perhaps I should give you a little bit of a wake-up call." He pointed behind him."You see, even if you do manage to beat me, it will all be for naught."

"Huh?"

"What are you talking about?" Kurosaki asked in concern. He was pointed at where Ruri was being kept.

"Unfortunately, for both of us, Ruri is being...shall we say, controlled by a parasite." A sneer crossed his face."Said parasite is controlling her brain and actions. The Ruri you used to know is no longer available."

"You're lying!" Kurosaki barked back.

"No way..." Kaito said in disbelief."But it wouldn't be out of the question. Considering he's also being controlled."

"Academia will pay! I swear on my life that they will pay!" He screamed in anguish, locking eyes with his former friend.

Makoto chuckled sinisterly, crossing his arms."I see I've sparked some light in your eyes. Well then, allow me to also go all out!" His hair turned jet black as his skin became paler. His sclera turned black while his pupils went white and a faint crimson aura had begun surrounding him.

"So that's the power he's acquired." Kurosaki scowled."I have to overcome that no matter what!"

"Go on and try it then!" Makoto's distorted voice snapped."I recall that it's my turn now! I draw! I activate the Spell Card, Resurrection Ritual! I Special Summon Nightmare from my graveyard with its effects negated! However, he won't be staying him for long, because I'll tribute him to Summon this! Appear, Evilswarm Deadly Knight!"

A skeletal knight holding a scythe appeared on the field, stumbling as it walked.

Evilswarm Deadly Knight Level 6, Dark, Fiend, ATK: 2000, DEF: 1000

"I activate Deadly Knight's effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "lswarm" monster from my Graveyard! I choose Shallow Man!"

'I suppose I should be getting ready to call upon Belphegor...' Makoto frowned."From my hand, I activate the Continous Spell, Global Infestation! Once per turn, I can pay 500 LP to Special Summon an "lswarm" monster from my Deck! I Special Summon Evilswarm Hraesvelg!"

Evilswarm Hraesvelg Level 4, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 1150, DEF: 1850

"I overlay the Level 4 Evilswarm Hraesvelg and the Level 4 Shallow Man! Monster that sleeps in the abyss of despair! Awake to the light of chaos that awaits your arrival! XYZ Summon! Appear, Rank 4! Evilswarm Thanatos!"

"This is bad! He already has a field full of monsters!" Kaito gritted his teeth.

"I now detach Black Observer's Overlay Unit. I now attack you directly and it gains 300 ATKs per monster on the field! There are now 4 monsters on the field!"

Evilswarm Black Observer ATK: 1200

"Black Observer's attack cannot be stopped!" Immediately, the black being appeared in front of Shun and let out a loud screech, causing him to cry out in pain, feeling his eardrums about to burst.

Shun LP: 1900

Shun grunted, wasting no time in going for an Action Card and activating it."The Action Card! No Battle! I end your Battle Phase and you are forced to your Main Phase 2!"

"Really now? Well, I should have expected a much from a mere Lancer. It's quite sad, really. How much you've succumbed to the traits of Standard."

"You are one to talk, you know." He said in between breaths."That card you must be waiting for...Chaotic Fusion. You're letting that card control you along with that monster of yours. I take it you plan on finishing me off with it?"

"Very perceptive of you, Shun. However, even if you know what's coming your way, you won't be able to prevent it. I end my turn."

"Maybe not. But even so, I won't go down without a fight! My turn! I draw! I activate the Spell Card, Pot of Greed! I draw two cards from my Deck! Next, when there's an XYZ monster on the field, I can Special Summon Raidraptor - Singing Lanius!"

Raidraptor - Singing Lanius Level 4, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 100, DEF: 1800

"I now activate the Continous Spell Card, Raidraptor - Nest! With its effect, when I control two or more "Raidraptor" monsters, I can add 1 "Raidraptor" monster from my Deck to my hand! The one I added is Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius! And when I control another "Raidraptor" monster, I can Special Summon it!"

"Now, I overlay the Level 4 Fuzzy Lanius and the Level 4 Singing Lanius! Avian hunter of the afterlife! Seek the truth with your dark eyes and grasp glory with your sharp talons! XYZ Summon! Descend, Rank 4! Raidraptor - Force Strix!"

"I detach an Overlay Unit to activate Force Strix's effect! I can add a Level 4 Dark Winged Beast monster from my Deck to my hand! Finally, I detach Fiend Eagle's last Overlay Unit to deal you damage equal to the original ATK of a monster you control! The one I choose is Thanatos!"

"Hold it! I activate the Trap Card, Infest Destiny! When I'm about to take damage by effect, I can negate it and we both draw a card from our decks!"

"Fine then. I'll end my turn for now by setting two cards!"

'How bizarre.' Makoto scowled at him."So, you didn't pull out a big move as I had expected. Too bad. That is going to cost you the duel! My turn, draw!"

"At this moment, I activate my face-down! The Quick-Play Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Revolution Force! I take control of an XYZ monster you control and use it to XYZ Summon a "Raidraptor" from my Extra Deck that's 1 rank Higher! Rank Up: XYZ Change! Appear, Rank 4! Raidraptor Force Strix!"

Raidraptor - Force Strix Rank 4, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 100, DEF: 2000, OU:1

"He took control of my monster! How dare he!" He said enraged."You foul fiend! This despicable action will not go unpunished! I activate the Spell Card, Reunion of the Pest! I return Deadly Knight to my Deck and Special Summon a new monster from my Deck! Come, Evilswarm Azzathot!"

Evilswarm Azzathot Level 4, Dark, Reptile, Flip, ATK: 750, DEF: 1950

"I then activate my Continous Spell, Global Infestation once more! I pay 500 LP and Special Summon another "lswarm" from my Deck! I summon Steelswarm Gatekeeper!"

Steelswarm Garmandor Level 4, Dark, Fiend, ATK: 1500, DEF: 1900

"Garmandor counts as two monsters when performing an XYZ Summon! I now Overlay them! Dark dragon who embodies the sentiment of destruction! Reveal your blackened wings and roar through the dark skies of this cursed world! XYZ Summon! Eradicate them, Rank 4! Evilswarm Ouroboros!"

"Damn. He already brought out Ouroboros." Kurosaki wiped the sweat off of his forehead. He began jumping away to a few platforms and grabbed an Action Card.

"Hey! Where in the world did Kaito run off to?" Makoto wondered aloud. In effect, Kaito was nowhere to be found.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Kurosaki smirked.

"No matter. It makes this easier for me. I detach an Overlay Unit from Ouroboros to activate one of its effects! I send one card at random in your hand to the graveyard!"

Kurosaki gasped, watching as the Action Card he picked up banished into thin air.

"You are not getting off that easily. Battle! I attack one of your Force Strix with Ouroboros! Enchanted Cursed!" The dragon began charging three purple energy blasts with its main head and secondary heads.

"I activate my Trap Card, Raidraptor Readiness! For the rest of this turn, Raidraptor monsters cannot be destroyed by battle!" The attacks barely missed Force Strix, changing trajectory to the sky.

"Tch! I change Black Observer's position to defense! I set a card and end my turn!"

Makoto hand: 2

"It's my move now! I activate both the effects of my Force Strix! I detach their lasts Overlay Units to get 2 Raidraptor monsters from my Deck to my hand!"

Shun hand: 4

"I normal Summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius!"

Raidaraptor - Vanishing Lanius Level 4, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 1300, DEF: 1600

"Once per turn, when this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Raidraptor" monster from my hand! Appear, Raidraptor - Napalam Dragonius!

"Due to Napalm's effect, I can inflict you with 600 points of damage!"

"Finally, I Special Summon Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius from my hand!"

Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius Level 4, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 500, DEF: 1500

"He has 3 Level 4s?! Don't tell me he-"

"I overlay the Level 4 Vanishing Lanius, Fuzzy Lanius, and Napalm Dragonius! Obscured Falcon, from adversity, raise your sharpened claws! Spread your wings of rebellion! XYZ Summon! Descend, Rank 4! Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!"

"Now that's a problem." Makoto bit his lower lip."Dealing with Rise Falcon during the turn it was summoned is a bit of a challenge." He turned to face his strongest monster, Ouroboros."But as long as I protect it for a few more turns, I'll be able to overpower him soon enough."

"I activate Rise Falcon's effect! I detach an Overlay Unit to make it gain ATK equal to the combined force of all Special Summoned monsters on your field!"

Rise Falcon adopted an orange aura as it began powering up.

Raidraptor - Rise Falcon ATK: 100+2750+2350=5200

"An attack of 5200!" Makoto couldn't believe his eyes.

"Battle! I attack all of your monsters with Rise Falcon!" The falcon began flying in the sky, leaving a trail of energy behind it as it began descending down.

"Shit!" Makoto found himself cursing. He began eyeing his surroundings like a wild animal in hopes of finding an Action Card."There's none!" He felt the hair on his neck stand up, feeling already the intense aura coming his way."I didn't want to resort to my trap just yet, but oh well! I activate my Trap Card, Cure of the Epidemic! I can activate this card during Battle Phase only! My monsters aren't destroyed and I take no damage!"

Rise Falcon flew upwards and did a spin in the air before landing next to Shun.

"Shit. That was my best attack." Shun swallowed the lump in his throat."I don't have many choices now before he gets his monster out."

"That was...a nice try, Shun..." Makoto breathed in relief."But I'm still standing. Rise Falcon did not manage to defeat me, as you had intended."

"I...set a card face-down and end my turn!"

Raidraptor - Rise Falcon ATK: 100

"Then it's my turn! I draw! I activate the Spell Card, Chaotic Fusion! I fuse Black Observer with Ouruboros to bring forth the ultimate monster! Chaotic beast that brings forth the flames of oblivion, reduce your foes to nothing but aches and infest this world with the black flames! CHAOS Fusion Summon! Descend, bring your dark grace, Level 7! CHAOS Evilswarm Belphegor!"

CHAOS Evilswarm Belphegor Level 7, Dark, Dragon, Fusion, ATK: 150, DEF: 50

"I activate my face-down card! The Quick-Play Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Tribute Ascension! I tribute the Rank 4s Force Strix in order to Summon a new Monster! Rank-Up: XYZ Change! Appear, Rank 8! Raidraptor - Satellite Falcon!"

Raidraptor - Satellite Falcon Rank 8, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 3000, DEF: 2000

"He used a rank up to get Satellite out!" Makoto sneered."Preposterous! I have nothing on my field that can fight it head-on! However, Belphergor's effect is still in pla-"

"Tribute Ascension negates the ability of all monsters you currently control!" Kurosaki pointed out, making him gasp in shock."Since that's the case, Belphegor won't be able to use its effect to gain strength!"

Makoto lowered his head, his bangs covering his eyes."Makoto...that monster that's controlling you has no power to do so anymore. I've rendered it useless with my will and determination."

No reply came. Makoto kept staring idly at the ground."Please, open your eyes. This is all pointless! Ruri is right within our grasp! We should be working together, not killing each oth-"

"You're right." Makoto boomed, cutting his fellow XYZ user off."This is all pointless. Because...Belphegor isn't my ace in the hole." He rose his head, his white eyes meeting Kurosaki's."I'll show you just the difference between the me from before and the current me! I activate my Spell Card, Crimson Pendant! I send Belphegor to the Graveyard in order to Special Summon a new and more powerful creature from the bottom of the abyss!"

A loud thunder struck the area, creating purple lightning around them.

"Be born from the core of chaos, brought forth by the light of the God that awakens with the alignment of the Lost 10 Souls! CHAOS Evolution Summon! Be born from the darkness of the abyss, Level 10! CHAOTIC Evilswarm Jersey Horse!"

A dark figure appeared on the feeling, revealing a minotaur clad in black armor carrying a giant ax in its hands. It had two horns and a pair of wings behind its back.

CHAOTIC Evilswarm Jersey Horse Level 10, Dark, Fiend, Fusion, ATK: 3000, DEF: 1000

"What is that monster...?"

"The monster that reflects true power, Shun." He rose his hand in the air."Jersey Horse's effect activates! Once per turn, all monsters you control lose half of their ATKs!"

Raidraptor - Satellite Falcon ATK: 1500

"But Satellite Falcon's effect activates! I detach an Overlay Unit to lower your monster's ATKs by 800 per "Raidraptor" monster in my graveyard!"

"Sorry, but that won't work on Jersey Horse! Jersey Horse's second effect allows me to negate the effect of a monster you control once!" Satelite Falcon slowly turned dim, lowering its cannons.

"It's time to taste despair, Shun! Battle! Jersey Horse will attack Raidraptor Satellite Falcon!" Jersey Horse snapped its head like a wild animal towards the mechanized bird and flew over to it and began tearing it from piece to piece until it completely turned apart.

Shun LP: 400

"I set one card face-down. I conclude my turn." He turned to Shun with a savage grin."Shun, it was fun, I must say, but it's time for me to sever the bond we made together. After you are defeated, Kaito will follow suit. You Lancers can't win!"

"Don't...underestimate them..." Shun stood up, his legs shaking."Even if you do defeat me, I trust them. I trust them to be able to handle things over there. And I trust them to save you from yourself. My turn, I draw!"

"What..."

"I activate my face-down Quick-Play Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Skip Heart! I can Special Summon from my Extra Deck a monster that's 2 ranks higher than a XYZ monster I controlled that was destroyed! I Special Summon Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon!"

A golden light engulfed the area, temporarily blinding Makoto."W-what is this...?!" Once the light diminished, a giant falcon clad in gold appeared on the field

Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon Rank 10, Dark, Winged Beast, ATK: 3500, DEF: 3000

"What's this?! It's stronger than Jersey Horse?!" He exclaimed in awe, taking a step back."But that's useless! No matter what you do now! I activate Jersey Horse's effect! Your monster loses half of its ATKs!"

"That won't work against Ultimate Falcon!" Kurosaki's confidence didn't waver for a second."It's unaffected by card effects. You can try using any card you want, but my Ultimate Falcon won't be destroyed so easily!"

"I-it can't be! You can't have something like that in your arsenal! It makes no sense!" Makoto cried out, frustrated on the situation as hand.

"You underestimated us. You thought we didn't, but we got stronger." Kurosaki said, looking on his former friend."After all of this began, we've been put to so many life-or-death situations. And each time we got out alive, we learned. We surpassed ourselves until we caught up to you guys and are now beating you. After all of this is over, I'll tell you all about our tales together. As the Lancers." He smiled."I activate Ultimate Falcon's effect! I detach an Overlay Unit to activate Ultimate Falcon's effect! All face-up cards you control have their effects negated it and all of your monsters lose 1000 ATKs!"

CHAOTIC Evilswarm Jersey Horse ATK: 2000

"Once more, I detach another one of Ultimate Falcon's Overlay Units! Your monster loses 1000 ATKs again!:

CHAOTIC Evilswarm Jersey Horse ATK: 1000

"Battle! I attack that retched monster with Ultimate Falcon! Golden Wind!" The mechanical bird began flapping its wings, creating a tornado of golden dust that engulfed Jersey Horse.

'There's no Action Cards remaining in play for me to get.' Makoto pondered as he watched the tornado slowly destroying his monster.'Even if I use my set card, his monster is unaffected by it. I can't use Jersey Horse's effect because it will render it useless...So this is it, huh?' Jersey Horse let out a shriek as it exploded into pieces.'I'm sorry, Lady Ruri. I did all of this to save you but, I ended up dooming us all.'

Makoto felt the intensity of the attack engulf his own body as he began screaming in pain.'You guys were the only people who never judged me, despite my personality. You always welcomed me with open arms and for that, I am thankful.'

Makoto LP: 0

Winner: Shun Kurosaki!

Makoto landed on his back, smoke coming off of his body. His eyes became gray and his body went back to normal."That was a good win..." He took out a remote controller from his jacket, pushing a button. The door to the tower open, Ruri coming rushing out to meet the pair.

"Brother! Makoto!" She yelled, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

"Ruri!" Shun gasped, rushing over as well to meet his sister.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Makoto shouted at the top of his lungs, prompting them both to stop

"Makoto?!" Both of them said in unison.

"Shun...there's something you have to now..." Makoto began, doing his best to at least sit up."Ruri is being...she's being...manipulated! Someone in Academia is controlling her as well!"

"What?!" Kurosaki was in shock upon hearing those words. On his side, Ruri had a blank expression on her face, looking down on Makoto.

"Yes...it pains me to admit, but I knew." He said with a sad smile."But I was...desperate. I screwed everything up the moment I joined these people. I just saw no way out of this. But you proved me wrong, Shun...You showed me that you guys have something that we don't...hope." His body began disintegrating in the air.

"Makoto!" Shun cried out. He was watching his friend vanish and did not know what to do.

Makoto's strength finally gave out and he collapsed on the floor. He stretched his arm towards his friend, tears going down his cheeks."I beg of you...Shun! Please! Save them! Save the girls from Academia! Save...Ruri!" With those final words, Makoto was no more.

Kurosaki stood there, trying to process what he had witnessed. He felt a sinister energy behind him, and he knew who it was. He didn't want to accept it, but he knew. He slowly turned his head, locking eyes with his younger sister.

"What a loudmouth." Ruri's voice was different. She didn't sound as she normally did. In contrast to her happy tone, now she sounded condescending and cold."He was supposed to be my knight, but he lost to his own inner emotions. But anyway, let's move on to the main event, brother. Duel me!"

"Luck is not everything in a duel! I'll show you! My turn! I draw!' Yugo looked at his current hand, a scowl forming on his face.'I have to do something about that copy of Clear Wing equipped to his monster. As well as those Trap of his...I GOT IT!' He smiled triumphantly."I summon Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice!"

Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice Level 1, Wind, Machine, Tuner, ATK:100, DEF: 100

"I tune the Level 1 Red-Eyed Dice with the Level 7 Clear Wing Crystal Dragon! Through the highspeeds of the wind dragon and the eye that sees the truth behind the lies! Synchro Summon! Come at high speeds, Level 8! Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake!"

Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake Level 8, Wind, Dragon, Synchro, ATK: 3000, DEF: 2800

A mechanized dragon appeared on Yugo's field.

"What in the world is that?" Evan blinked a few times, scanning the new monster that had appeared.

"This is the key to break through your untouchable field! I activate Kitedrake's effect! I negate all effects of your face-up cards you control!"

All cards on Evan's field turned gray.

"Not a bad move." Evan couldn't help but smirk.

"Battle! Kitedrake attacks Bon Bunny! Hyper Pierce!" The dragon fired a white energy blast from its mouth, completely decimating the fake Clear Wing and Bon Bunny.

Evan LP: 3500

"And those traps of yours are now useless and you have no more monsters on your field!" Yugo grinned from ear to ear."I'd say luck is beginning to side with me now!"

"It does seem like it is, huh." Evan rose a brow, impressed by what he just witnessed."Maybe you actually have a chance in defeating me. Who knows?"

"Stop bluffing!" Yugo gritted his teeth."I set a card face-down and end my turn!"

Yugo hand: 1

"Then allow me to go next! My turn! I draw!" Evan drew his card with an amused smirk on his face."I suppose I should get the show on the road already. I activate the Spell Card, Lucky Charms! I throw three dices, you get to declare three numbers, and if the dices land on those numbers, I lose 1000 LP and have to discard my entire hand. However, if the numbers are different, I get to Special Summon a monster from the Extra Deck ignoring its summoning conditions!"

"Tch! There's no way in hell you can get out of this one, Evan! I choose 1, 3 and 5!"

"Oh, feeling daring, are we?" Evan chuckled to himself."Alright then, let's roll them up!" Three dices appeared on the field, flying up in the sky before they landed and began rolling. The first one was two, the second one was a four, and the final one a six.

"What?! That's stupid! How does this make any sense?!" Yugo cried out, grabbing his hair furiously.

"To be fair, your choice was rather stupid. You picked all the odd numbers. It's only natural that one of your outcomes would be losing. Come, Misfortune Magatsu Kyukana!"

A warrior clad in black clothing and crimson armor appeared on the field wielding a black sword. From its helmet, golden eyes could be seen glowing as steam came out of his mask.

Misfortune Magatsu Kyukana Level 8, Dark, Warrior, Fusion, ATK: 2600, DEF: 2200

"I must say, I never understood why Rin prefers you the most." Evan shook his head, smirking when he saw the shook in Yugo's face."What? Surprise? You shouldn't be. After all, you guys have known each other practically your whole lives. It's a given that she has taken a liking to you. A liking that I could not possibly overcome.' The smirk in his face disappeared, leaving a scowl behind.'And I've been fooling myself this whole time...believing someone like her could love a person like me. But that was only because of the parasite in her head. Reality is different.'

"What are you getting at?" Yugo asked hoping he could learn more about Evan to find out a weakness.

"Nothing. Just rambling on about life, is all. Anyways, I activate Magatsu Kyukana's Special Ability. When he's Special Summoned, I can add a field spell from my Deck to my hand! Then I activate it! The Field Spell, Trebol Magic Work!" The whole area was now being surrounded by falling trebols that appeared seemingly from the sky.

"As long as this spell is in effect, nothing can stop me. I activate Magatsu Kyukana's second effect! When my opponent controls a monster with higher ATK, I can decrease its ATKs by half of the amount that my monster has! Furthermore, its effects are negated!"

"What?!"

Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake ATK: 1500

"Go, Magatsu Kyukana! Balance of Luck!" The lucky warrior sprinted towards the mechanical monster, cutting its limbs rapidly in a swift motion.

Yugo LP: 2600

"And thanks to my Field Spell, I can draw a card whenever a monster on either of our fields is destroyed. Not a bad set up, right?"

"This isn't a game, damn it!" Yugo growled."I activate my Trap Card, when I take more than 1000 points of damage, I can Special a monster that was originally from my Extra Deck along with a tuner monster from the graveyard! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and Red-Eyed Dice!"

Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice Level 1, Wind, Machine, Tuner, ATK:100, DEF: 100

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon Level 7, ATK: 2500, DEF: 2000

"Planning to bring forth that monster, huh?" Ace mused with a grin."That's fine! I believe we should start taking things seriously too!"

"Thanks to Clever Tricks, I can immediately perform a Synchro Summon with monsters Special Summoned by its effect. I tune the Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with the Level 1 Red-Eyed Dice! Appear, Level 8! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon Level 8, Wind, Dragon, Synchro, ATK: 3000, DEF: 2500

"This is the evolved version of your dragon." Evan chuckled, feeling a cold sweat going down the back of his head."Show me what you've got. I set a card and end my turn!"

"Oh, I will! My turn! I draw! I attack your Magatsu Kayana with Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! Whirlwind Krystallos Edge!" The giant dragon began doing zig-zags at high speeds towards Magatsu Kayana."Furthermore, Crystal Wing gains ATKs equal to the attacked monster! That will be 2600!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 5600

"Tch! Not a bad show, but I won't let you! Magatsu Kayana's effect! When my opponent controls a monster with higher ATK, I can decrease its ATK-"

"It's useless!" Yugo roared with passion, cutting Evan off."I activate Crystal Wing's other effect! When an opposing monster activates its effect, I can negate the activation and destroy it! And Crystal Wing gains ATK equal to the ATK of said monster until the end of this turn!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 8200

"It ends with this!" Yugo said with a triumphant smile. Crystal Wing sped through Magatsu Kayana, slicing it through the middle.

"I'm not so sure! I activate my Trap Card, Ghost of the Chaos! Not only is battle damage reduced to 0, but I can only activate this card by discarding "Chaotic Fusion from my hand! I can Fusion summon using the monster you just destroyed along with a monster from my Graveyard! Luckster that decides the fate of those unworthy of your grace! Corrupt the system of order to begin the era of fortune! CHAOS Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 9! CHAOS Misfortune Maiden of Luck!"

A woman with white hair covered in a black rope appeared on the field. She had a balance in her hand and a wand in the other.

CHAOS Misfortune Maiden of Luck Level 9, Dark, Fiend, ATK: 30000, DEF: 2600

"You've already used all of Crystal Wing's effects, have you not? Then allow me to start preparing for our final showdown! I activate Maiden of Luck's Effect! I can negate the effect of all other cards on the field permanently except for Maiden of Luck! Furthermore, we are not allowed to have more than our respective monsters on our field. But that's because our monsters cannot be destroyed by battle anymore. You'll soon learn of my monster's terrifying effect."

"There's more to that effect?!" Yugo growled."Blast it! I set a card and end my turn!"

"So, it begins! My turn! I draw! I activate the Continous Spell, Misfortune Fortune! Now, Battle! I attack Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon with Maiden of Luck! Disgraceful Sin!"

"Huh?!" Yugo was taken back."But Crystal Wing is still stronger! Even if your monster cannot be destroyed by battle, you'll be the one to take damage!"

"Ah, but that's where you're wrong! During the battle phase, both of us can throw a dice up in the air and depending on what number we get, our monsters get a 200x boost. Simple enough, right? Well, it is. Now, let the throwing begin!" Two dices appeared on the field and began spinning around in the middle."Now, I activate the effect of Misfortune Fortune! As long as this card is in play, I will always get a higher number than you!"

"A 3 for me!" Yugo declared once his dice stopped.

"And for me is a 5. Too bad. Looks like I get the advantage this round!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 3600

CHAOS Misfortune Maiden of Luck ATK: 4000

Maiden of Luck casted a spell that created a gust of trebols that swirled around Crystal Wing, causing it to screech in pain.

Yugo LP: 2200

"I'll have fun breaking you apart slowly and steady." Evan cracked a sinister smile."I set a card and end my turn!"

Evan hand: 2

"Then it's my turn! I draw!" Yugo narrowed his eyes at the card he just drew.'Maybe I can get rid of it with a card effect! Here goes nothing!' Yugo showed his card."I activate the Spell Card, Clear View of the Wind! I can target a monster on your field and destroy it!"

"Useless! Maiden of Luck cannot be destroyed by card effects either! It's no use!"

"What?!" Yugo spat on the floor."No choice then. I end my-"

"Not so fast, Yugo! I activate my Continous Trap Card, Final Effort! Before we end our turns, we must have battled at least once! Meaning that your Crystal Wing is forced to attack Maiden of Luck!" Crystal Wing flew over to Maiden of Luck at high speed as the two dices appeared on the field."And due to the effect of Misfortune Fortune, I will get a higher number than you!"

"I got a 2 !" Yugo said.

"And I got 3!" Evan smirked as he felt victorious.

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 3000 + 400 = 3400

CHAOS Misfortune Maiden of Luck ATK: 3000 + 600= 3600

Once more, Maiden of Luck created a gust of trebols that swirled and cut around Crystal Wing.

Yugo LP: 2000

"I...I can't beat him...!" Yugo felt his confidence waver."What am I supposed to do now...?!"

"It's pathetic that the knight that Rin trusted is about to lose." Evan bellowed."I'm so close now...Rin. Close to having you all for myself! Yugo! Have you finally realized the truth?! Luck is based on chance. And fate chooses each of us to have our own opportunities! You losing is a sign of fate preferring me. So me and Rin being together forever is also a sign."

"Don't give me that crap!" Yugo roared, clenching his fists."Fate decides which of us gets what?! I say screw that! We both forge our own destinies and our own choices! No amount of luck will ever make you able to bend the future as you see fit! The bond Rin and I share can never be broken!" He took a look at the card in his hand."And I'll show you! I set a card and end my turn!"

"Ha! A nice joke, but I'm afraid those words won't get you anywhere!" Evan glanced over to the locked tower with a dreamy expression.'It's just a matter of time, Rin.' He moved his hand over to his monster."Maiden of Luck! Attack him once more! Disgraceful Sin!"

"I activate my Trap Card, Supreme Dragon Eruption! I banish Clear Wing Synchro Dragon from my Graveyard, and target a card you control and destroy it! And you'll lose LP equal to half of Clear Wing's!"

"Need I remind you that Maiden of Luck can't be destroyed by mere effects?" Evan wagged a finger.

"I'm not targetting her, Evan! I'm targetting that Continous Spell of yours, Misfortune Fortune!" Evan gasped as his card disintegrated from the field and a gust of wind covered his entire body.

Evan LP: 2250

"So, finding ways for my luck to run out? Haven't you learned already? My luck is endless! Now, due to Maiden of Luck's effect, we roll a dice!" Two dices appeared in their respective fields once more.

"I got one!" Yugo said, allowing himself a small smirk.

"And I got six!" Evan nearly yell."It's over, Yugo!"

"Not so fast! I activate my last Trap Card, Speed Re-roid! I can only activate this card after the effect of a dice roll takes place! I take our results and exchange them! And if your result was more than double of mine, I get to double my roll!"

"That means...you'll get a 12?!" Evan cried out as he saw a new dice appeared on the field. It was golden and had a few drawings of speedroid monsters."And I get a 1?!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 3000 + 2400 = 5400

CHAOS Maiden of Luck ATK: 3000 + 200 = 3200

"N-no! Hold back! I said to hold back!" He screamed to no avail. His Trap Card, Final Effort, began shining once more.

"Due to your Trap Card, you are forced to continue your attack! Go, Crystal Wing! Lightspeed Whip!" Crystal Wing spun around its tail, hitting the Maiden of Luck with it and hitting Evan on the side of his body, knocking him to the ground.

Evan LP: 50

"It..it can't be...due to Final Effort's effect when I control no monsters on the field, it's destroyed...and I take 100 points of damage." Lightning struck Evan's body, causing him to wince in pain.

Evan LP: 0

Winner: Yugo

"Have you finally come to?" Yugo ran up to his enemy's side.

Evan's body went back to normal. His black hair was now dark grey and his eyes were now grey-green."I think so. I can't believe you twisted your way around the chains of fate and luck...and defeated me."

"I told you, didn't I?" He shook his head, allowing a small smile to form."There's no such thing as anyone bound by fate. We can do whatever we can as long as we have the right mindset. To be honest, I thought I was a goner. But your words...they helped me find the right motivation to win."

"We both were fighting for Rin...but I suppose your will is just leagues above mine." Evan chuckled dryly."Pity. I fooled myself thinking that Rin was my only one. But I was forcing myself in a relationship already made. I was such a fool."

"Hey, don't belittle yourself so much. What Rin wants to do is entirely up to her. Whether she picks me or you, it's her own choice. Not something that either of us can change."

Evan let out another chuckle but became a grunt of pain. His sides were aching due to the last attack, and his body had begun disintegrating."Don't give me that...it's not very...nice of you to lie like that. As long as Rin is happy, I will be happy too. But now it's up to you to rescue her. I truly wish you the best of luck, Yugo."

"Thank you..." Yugo stood up, slightly bowing down to Evan."I wish we had met under better circumstances. I don't know if we would have gotten along, but anything is better than this, honestly."

"Yeah..." Evan closed his eyes as his face was nearly gone."I would have...liked...that..."

"Evan..." Yugo looked somberly at where the luckster was."I'll save Rin. And I'll find a way to help you. For everything that Academia has done."

"It's quiet. Way to quiet." Kurono informed the people behind him as they walked through the halls of Academia.

"I agree." Asuka nodded her head, walking up to him as she helped Yusho walk a bit faster."Is this some sort of trap?"

"No. No, I don't think so." Yusho furrowed his brow.'However, I cannot deny the fact that it's too suspicious that we haven't encountered any enemies yet.'

"I hope it says this way." Kurono broke the silence."I want to find my brother as soon as possible. And if Akaba Leo knows where he is, the better."

"I'm sure you'll find him. I'll help you." Asuka placed a supporting hand on his shoulder.

Kurono was taken back by her gesture at first, but gave her a warm smile."Thank you. Sheez, I didn't know there were angels in the Fusion Dimension. It's almost unthinkable. No offense."

Asuka hit him in the arm playfully, giggling at his comment."None taken. But don't worry. Not everyone in this dimension is in favor of what Academia is doing. You-Show school is a fine example of that!"

Yusho observed their interaction curiously. It reminded him of when he and his wife would spend time together before they got married. Those memories brought a smile to his face."Young love."

"Huh?" Both of them said in unison.

"I just find it interesting how both of you are getting along. Oh, but please don't mind me! I'm sure you don't want to hear this old man tell you about old school love." Yusho waved his hand with a smirk.

"S-Sensei!" Asuka's cheeks were now pink, flustered.

Before Kurono could say something, a loud set of steps broke them from their conversation. From the corner, a young man with white hair covering his eyes jumped and landed in the middle of the hallway. He was wearing a blank tank top, dark cargo pants and brown combat boots.

"Who is that?" Asuka blinked a few times.

"Stay alert, you two." Yusho stood in front of the younger duelists."He might be an enemy."

The figure simply took a card from his pocket and looked over his shoulder with a smirk.

"That card!" Kurono gasped, recognizing that card to be one of the Nekroz cards that Kyle was supposed to have."Where did you get that?! What did you do to my brother?!"

The figure shook his head and resumed sprinting away."Get back here!" Kurono erupted, following the mysterious man.

"Kurono!" Asuka called out to him but he didn't listen. Kurono gritted his teeth to the point where he thought he might chip one. No matter where this person would go, he would follow them and find out where his brother was.
