Hiraki and Serena are childhood friends and have deflected from Academia after learning its true goals. However, Hiraki has presumably been taken away by them after losing a duel. To save him, the Lancers have to make their way to the Fusion Dimension but this will be no easy task due to the Unifiers of Chaos standing in their way, pursuing the 2 remaining Dimensional girls.

Against the Heart

"What a dump this place is." Cody said as he walked through the halls of Academia."I can't find anybody here. If only I hadn't lost my grip right before we got to the island, I would have found them already. But I can't stop by and wait for the others to arrive. God knows where they took Yuzu and what they're going to do with her. If they did that to Serena...I have to hurry!" He began running around the place, examining hall after hall. He was beginning to think that the students were in some sort of lockdown.

"Hey, you're being awfully loud. Tone it down a bit."

"Oh, sorry!" Cody apologized before stopping. He walked back, noticing a familiar face idly reading a book against a wall."You!"

Daisuke sighed, closing his manga."You idiotic kid. You couldn't just take a hint and just don't involve yourself more into this mess. Did you want to be a hero and save your dear friend? Well, you must face the consequences now."

"Like hell, I was going to standby and let Rin suffer all alone in this hell!" Cody cried out."Nor am I letting Yuzu go through the same! I'm taking Academia down! My friends will be here soon enough and until then...I'll defeat you!"

"Such idiocy." Daisuke shook his head. Both duelists activated their Duel Disks."You just signed your death sentence, kid."

"Duel!"

Daisuke vs. Cody LP: 4000 each

"You're eager to lose?" Daisuke narrowed his eyes."You look confident. Why is that?"

"Isn't it obvious? This is where I defeat you once and for all! Our duel might have had a different result last time, but it won't be the same as before!"

"Tch. Such confidence! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Graceful Charity! I draw 3 cards from my Deck and discard two from my hand." He drew his cards and smirked."It looks like luck is already failing you, kid. I summon Elemental HERO Ocean!"

Elemental HERO Ocean Level 4, Warrior, Water, ATK: 1500, DEF: 1200

"I activate its Special Ability! I can return a HERO monster from my Graveyard back to my hand! I set a card face-down and end my turn!"

Daisuke hand: 4

"Then I'll go! My turn! Draw! I summon Scrap Recycle in ATK mode!"

Scrap Recycler Level 3, Earth, Machine, ATK: 900, DEF: 1200

"I activate Recycler's effect! I can send one Machine-Type monster from my Deck to my graveyard!" Cody grabbed the card and inserted it in his Duel Disk."Next, I activate the Spell Card, Scrap Return! I can Special Summon a Machine-Type monster from my Graveyard! Arise, Scrap Highwire!"

A small monster that seemed to made out of rusted parts appeared on the field.

Scrap Highwire Level 2, Earth, Machine, Tuner, ATK: 200, DEF: 1000

"When this card is Special Summoned, I can draw two cards from my Deck! Now, I tune the Level 3 Recycler to the Level 2 Highwire!"

Recycler turned into 3 stars as Highwire turned into 2 rings, surrounding them."Monster left desolated in the scraps! Make your way to the new world and take claim of the forgotten tools! Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 5! Scrap Wyvern!"

A metallic dragon appeared on the field, screeching. It was almost similar to Scrap Dragon, except it was smaller and its wings were on its arms.

Scrap Wyvern Level 5, Earth, Wyvern, Synchro, ATK: 2500, DEF: 1000

"Battle! I attack Elemental HERO Ocean with Scrap Wyvern! Distant Howl!" Wyvern began screeching loudly, creating a soundwave that was directed towards the water hero.

"I activate my Trap Card, HERO Desperation! I can Special Summon an Elemental HERO from my hand and another one from my Deck as long as they share the same attribute! From my hand, Elemental HERO Heat! And from my Deck, Elemental HERO Lady Heat!"

Elemental HERO Heat Level 4, Fire, Pyro, ATK: 1600, DEF: 1200

Elemental HERO Lady Heat Level 4, Fire, Pyro, ATK: 1300, DEF: 1000

'Thanks to my attack, he's gained 2 new monsters.' Cody scowled."But I will still take you down! The attack resumes on Ocean!"

The hero tried covering its ears, but the potent soundwave proved to be too much, causing it to explode.

"Not so confident now, are we? I set two face-downs and call it a turn!"

Cody hand: 4

"I can't help but think that that helmet is hiding the fact that your brain is so small." Daisuke sighed."But anyway, I believe it's my turn! Draw! I forgot to mention that Heat gains 200 ATKs per Elemental HERO in play."

Elemental HERO Heat ATK: 1800

"But these two heroes are merely a plaything. I am about to step up the game since you've already Synchro Summon. I will respond in kindly. I activate the Spell Card, Polymerization! I fuse Heat and Lady Heat together! Abyss opening the flames of hell at this time of noon! Resonate to create the warrior that embodies the power of the hottest flames of hell! Fusion Summon! Descend, Level 8! Elemental HERO Inferno!"

Elemental HERO Inferno Level 8, Fire, Pyro, Fusion, ATK: 2300, DEF: 1600

As soon as the monster appeared, the atmosphere turned hotter by the second. Cody was beginning to sweat and opened up his jumpsuit a bit to cool himself.

"I activate Elemental HERO Radiate's effect from my hand! I can equip it to your monster and change its attribute to whatever I choose! The one I chose is "Water"!"

"But what's the point of doing that?" Cody asked in confusion.

"For this! Battle! I attack Scrap Wyvern with my Inferno! Heat Zero! When Inferno battles a "Water" type monster, its ATKs goes up by 1000 during the battle!"

Elemental HERO Inferno ATK: 3300

"I can't allow that! I activate my Trap Card, Scrap Barrier!" A barrier made out of junk appeared on the field, however, Inferno broke right through it and barely missed hitting its target.

"My monster isn't destroyed by battle! But...!" He winced in pain once he felt lightning covering his body."I still take damage!"

Cody LP: 3200

"Nice save." Daisuke clapped."Honestly, kid, you're struggling a little too much."

"Of course I am! I have to beat you to give space for when everyone gets here!" Cody cried out.

Daisuke shook his head."So emotional, honestly. I set a card and end my turn."

Daisuke hand: 2

"My turn! I draw! I summon Scrap Magnum!"

A metallic pistol appeared on the field before growing legs and arms.

"I activate its effect! By destroying it, I can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard in DEF mode! Arise, Scrap Highwire!"

Scrap Highwire Level 2, Earth, Machine, Tuner, ATK: 200, DEF: 1000

"From my hand, I activate the effect of Scrap Leonel! When a monster on my field is destroyed by its own effect, I can Special Summon it from my hand!"

Scrap Leonel Level 6, Earth, Machine, ATK: 2000, DEF: 0

"I tune the Level 6 Leonel to the Level 2 Highwire! Steel-cold shards of forgotten glory, lingering on in hateful revenge, take form and arise from the vengeful darkness! Synchro Summon! Rampage and roar! Level 8! Scrap Dragon!"

Scrap Dragon Level 8, Earth, Machine, Synchro, ATK: 2800, DEF: 2000

"Already brought forth your ace monster?" Daisuke whistled."You must be eager to finish this duel, right?"

"Hell yeah, I am! I have to save Yuzu!" Cody clenched his fists.'She was there for me when I needed her. When I told her about my past, she supported me and comforted me...I can't let that go to waste!'

"I simply don't understand what makes you so confident in you winning. You're legit in the lion's den, have you not noticed?"

"I know...but everyone is giving it their all right now." Cody said with a determined expression."It wouldn't be fair for them if I just slack off and leave it to them. I have my role to play in this as well."

"A role to play, huh..." Daisuke snorted.

"I activate my Trap Card, Scrap Union! I can only activate this card when there's a "Scrap Wyvern" and a "Scrap Dragon" on my field! They both gain 1000 ATKs! Furthermore, they can't be destroyed by card's effects as long as both of them are on the field!"

"A formidable defense." Daisuke smirked."This just got a lot more interesting."

Scrap Wyvern ATK: 3500

Scrap Dragon ATK: 3800

"Battle! I attack your Inferno with the power of my mighty beasts! Atomic Destro!" Both dragons charged two separate beams of energy fro their mouths and fired them simultaneously as they swirled around one another before becoming one.

"A nice light show, but that's all it is! I activate my Trap Card, Path of the Hero! I can activate this card when a Fusion HERO monster I control is targetted for an attack! I can switch all monsters you control to DEF mode and end the battle phase!"

The beam dissipated into thin air as both dragons shrieked upon being forced to sit down by a strong gravitational force.

"Damn! I almost got him!" Cody clicked his tongue.

"Maybe. But don't get so worked up. It's not like you had a chance against me, to begin with." Daisuke merely shrugged off his comment.

Cody gritted his teeth, frustration begins to set in."I end my turn."

"Now it's time to start breaking that barrier of yours. My turn! Draw! Oh, this card, huh? Well, I'm sorry to say you're in for a world of pain, kid. When a control a Fusion "HERO" monster on the field, I can Special Summon Elemental HERO Neko!"

A metallic cat appeared on the field, leaking its paw.

"Now, I sacrifice both of my monsters in order to Advance Summon! Come, Elemental HERO Bladedge!"

Elemental HERO Bladedge Level 7, Earth, Warrior, ATK: 2600, DEF: 1800

"I activate the Equip Spell Card, Gold Daggers! I can equip this to Bladedge! Battle! I attack that stupid Wyvern of yours! Twin Sharp Cut!" Bladedge moved his hand at high speed, sending two slashes of energy through his blades that cut Wyvern into different pieces."And thanks to Bladedge's effect, when he attacks a monster that's in DEF mode, it inflicts piercing damage!" The shockwaves impacted near Cody, sending him flying backward and crashing violently against the floor.\

Cody LP: 1600

"Now, due to Gold Dagger's, I can draw cards equal to the number of monsters on the field. I'll draw two cards. I set one and end my turn. You alive over there?"

Daisuke hand: 1

He got no response. Cody seemed lifeless on the floor and didn't move a muscle. Daisuke rose a brow at this. He hadn't expected his duel to end in such a way, but he wasn't complaining."Well, I guess he must have snapped his neck during the fall. At least I won't have to continue this dumb duel. But I must say I'm disappointed. I expected more for someone who claimed himself to be a white knight coming to rescue his princess. It's too bad you couldn't even see Yuzu Hiragi before this. I suppose it's a tragic death. Haven't seen that in any of my mangas, so this is refreshing." Daisuke turned around and began walking away before hearing a shuffling noise behind him.

Cody was trying to push himself back up, leveling his head above the floor. As he did so, his helmet splint into pieces, revealing his blue hair."Where the hell are you going?!" He growled, standing back up in pain."I'm not done with you! I...I promised I was going to save Yuzu no matter what! Everyone has tried too hard...they've tried to hard just to get us where we are."

Daisuke remained silent, turning back around a giving the boy an impassive glare.

"Everyone gave it their all against the Unifiers of Chaos and pulled through. Yuya and Yuto did the impossible and defeated Yuke. Meanwhile, I was eating shit! I haven't done anything to help them! I'm not the boy that Yuzu would want to fall in love with, I know. I'm too useless. But there's something I can do right now. And that's taking you out so they'll have less trouble when they get here! I will not fall! I will not let another horrible person like you ruin people's lives! MY turn! I draw!"

"From my hand, I summon Scrap Fridge in ATK mode!"

Scrap Fridge Level 4, Earth, Machine, Tuner, ATK: 1000, DEF: 1000

"I activate its Special Effect! I can turn its levels equal to the number of monsters I control on my field except for this one! The other one I have is Scrap Dragon! So my monster's level becomes 1"

Scrap Fridge Level 1

"I tune the Level 8 Scrap Dragon with the Level 1 Scrap Fridge! Monster that governs in the world left unused! Combine and construct yourself into a being that can judge the worthy and unworthy! Synchro Summon! Level 9! Scrap World Reuser!"

A giant golem made out of scrap appeared on the field, holding a giant hammer in its hands.

Level 8 Scrap World Reuser, Earth, Machine, ATK: 2900, DEF: 2000

"That must be your ace in the hole. If you're willing to bet everything on the line with that thing." Daisuke grinned." Impressive. But can you really beat me with that?"

"Oh, I'm positive! I activate World Reuser's effect! I can target up to two cards on your field and negate their effects! Also, if they're traps or spells, they cannot be open, even after this effect is passed!"

"What?!" Daisuke watched as a sword pierced through his face-down card."Still, what can you hope to achieve with that? Stupid kid! You and your wishful thinking make me sick!"

"And what's wrong with that? What's wrong with wishing for a good ending, huh?! Just because you didn't get one, doesn't mean anyone is like you! Battle! I attack Bladedge with World Reuser! Ground Hammer!" The golem rose its hammer up in the air before taking a powerful swing at Bladedge, cracking his armor and destroying him."And thanks to its second effect, you take 500 points of damage!"

Daisuke LP 2200

"I...end my turn by setting one card down!"

"Not bad, kid. Not bad at all." Daisuke clapped slowly."I am actually interested in you now and that rarely happens. I rarely duel, and when I do, people just don't catch my attention. Everyone is so cliche, just like the piss poor mangas in this place. But you. You are truly refreshing. Your self-righteous nature and your wish to save someone been though you invaded the lion's den. A truly remarkable hero! Now, hero, allow me to-" His voice was cut off my a ringtone. He blinked a few times before coughing."One second, I seem to be getting a call."

"Is he...really going to answer the phone here?" Cody was flabbergasted.

"What is it? I'm in the middle of something." Daisuke suddenly frowned."What? You're kidding. All of them? They were all defeated? Even him?"

"He must be talking about the Unifiers of Chaos." Cody gave a toothy grin."I knew they could do it."

"Yeah, yeah. It's just hard to think all of them have been wiped out." A long pause after that."So, you're going to do it then? Alright, I'll be there to help. Let me just finish this real quick." He hung up his call and gave a weary sigh."Sorry, kid. Our fun has been cut short it seems. I have places to be, so I'll end it this turn."

"Yeah, right! Everyone beat the Unifiers of Chaos! So all that's left is me beating you!"

"We'll see about that. My turn, I draw! Well, since I really don't have any monsters left. I'll have to use my trump card right off the bat. I activate the Spell Card, Heat Crystals! I banish two fire type monsters from my Graveyard in order to Fusion Summon a fire type monster from my Extra Deck! I banish Heat Lady and Heat in order to...Fusion Summon!"

Both monsters appeared on the field, combing and forming a ball of magma that was hot enough to change the atmosphere around them."Ruler of fire that has the might of the sun! With the scorching heat of hell, take back the divine fire of the people! Fusion Summon! Descend, Level 10! Elemental HERO Prometheus!"

A monster with black armor appeared on the field. It was completely made out of magma and its hair was a wildfire. It was a long sword with vivid magma on its right hand.

Elemental HERO Prometheus Level 10, Fire, Pyro, ATK: 2800, DEF: 2400

"Holy shit! It's hot as hell now!" Cody was sweating profusely.

"I activate Prometheus' effect! You can damage equal to half of your monster's ATKs! And not only that, my monster gains those ATKs until the end of this turn! Heat Riser!" Cody was covered in blue flames as he cried out in agony, falling on his knees.

Cody LP: 150

Elemental HERO Prometheus ATK: 2800 + 1450 =4250

The heat was rising in temperature to dangerous degrees. Prometheus's blade had changed color. Now it was completely white but retained the fire aspect.

"I commend you, Cody. You will be retained in my memory as I extinguish your flame and your will! I'll make sure your princess knows of your brave efforts. Now, Prometheus! Eradicate him with your scorching fire! Hell Slash!" Prometheus' rose his sword and brought it down, creating a giant slash that was cutting even through the floor. It cut right through World Reuser, making it explode. The explosion caught up with Cody, sending him flying against the wall. The impact was so strong that Cody went right through the wall, leaving a giant hole in it.

Winner: Daisuke!

Daisuke casually walked past the wall and went over to where Cody was. He was a bloody mess, twitching on the floor. His head was busted open and bleeding, and his limps were mangled in angles they weren't supposed to.

"It's a sad sight to see you like this, kid. But our game is officially over. It's been a while since I've had this much fun. I didn't expect you to do so when we first met in the Synchro Dimension. Oh well. Any last words? Your friends didn't come and save you like you were expecting."

Cody was wheezing in pain. His chest was on fire and breathing was a difficult task on its own. His lungs were probably damaged from the explosion, and his whole body was numb. However, he still let out a dry chuckle."Yugo...Yugo did it...I'm sure he was the one who took down Evan...Everyone is coming here...and they will rescue all the girls..." Cody moved his head with all his strength, glaring defiantly at Daisuke."We're going to win this war...even if I'm not there when they do...Yugo will save Rin and take her back home...and Yuya will save Yuzu..."

"I hate to burst your bubble, but Yuri is looking for Yugo as we speak. Yugo will be in the same position as you when he finds him. Besides, our plans are already in motion." He readied his Duel Disk, tapping a few buttons."I would leave you here to die, but I'm feeling merciful. So I'm going to card you."" Before he could protest, he was engulfed in purple light, becoming a card. Daisuke bent down and picked up the card, putting it in his pocket. Now, it's time for things to finally get interesting around here...Seiko."

"Wait!" Kurono yelled after the figure who kept leaping around. He had to admit, whoever this was, had high agility. He was giving him a random for his money and even almost lost him at one point. But he forced himself to keep going. He had to find Kyle. And if this person was the only one who knew, he would chase him to the end of the world.

"I said wait! Stop and face me, you coward!" They entered a giant room that was pretty much empty and dark. The figure stopped and chuckled.

"Coward, huh? You do have a funny sense of humor." He said in an almost familiar tone.

"Where's my brother?! Answer me!" Kurono was about to take another step before a chain was wrapped around his ankle, tightening."What the hell?"

Another chained wrapped around the figure's ankle, but this one did not react to it."Why? Why are you looking for your brother? When he's right here."

The figure began turning around until he was face to face with Kurono."No...It can't be..."

There stood Kyle. His hair was now fully white and his eyes were crimson.

"No...god, no! Not my brother! Why?! Why did they do this to you?! They made you a Unifier of Chaos!" Kurono was almost about to lose it. He was running his hand through his hair, taking fast breaths."Your hair...what did they do to you? You look completely different from back then! This isn't normal!"

"And what is normal, brother? Me being the weak link? Me being nothing but a joke to those around me? No, I am TIRED of that life!" He screamed at the top of his lungs."I am liberated now! This power is what's been forming us for years! What took our dimension away! Now that I have it, I can control it and use it however I want! I AM UNTOUCHABLE!"

"What...?" Kurono said barely above a whisper."Kyle...what are you saying?"

"Our parents died giving it their all during the Yu invasion. Johan died because he wasn't able to beat Yu and he gave his life for me. Hiraki gave his life away to save Serena in a battle he knew he couldn't win" He continued rambling, grabbing his head."What have I done? I've been nothing but a damn push over! Lusting for power! I wasn't able to save anyone! I wasn't able to be...to be someone of use! To beat chaos and clear the world of it! I gave my fucking humanity away for that!" He pointed at his hair."But then I realized...that there's no use resisting this power. Once I attained chaos, I was a new man! Free of worries! Free of insecurities! FREE OF WEAKNESSES!"

"And you didn't give a shit about the sacrifices that everyone has made?!" Kurono snapped back."What the fuck is wrong with you?! They must have brainwashed you or something because no way this...now way you're meaning any of this!"

"And what the hell could you possibly know about me?! We barely ever talk anymore! Do you think I'm supposed to be living under your damn shadow?! Well, fuck that! I'm taking you out now and after you, I'll be a hero! I'll defeat Academia on my own and people will recognize me for what I am! Do you see those shackles? They are programmed to card the loser of this duel! Neat, right? Well, let's get started!"

"Kyle...please don't make me do this...please, brother!" He pleaded but he did not listen. Kyle continued staring at him with a sardonic grin."Fine. I'm going to knock some sense into you, brother!"

"DUEL!"

Kyle vs. Kurono LP: 4000 each

'This is fucked up.' Kurono bit his lower lip.'I never really stood a chance against that Nekroz Deck. And if it's chaos enhanced, this will be even more difficult. But I can't give up.'

"My turn! From my hand, I use the Spell Card, Open The Gate! I can Special Summon "Nekroz Lock" from my Deck on defense mode!"

An old mage appeared on the field holding a blue lock appeared on the field.

Nekroz Lock Level 5, Water, Spellcaster, ATK: 2000, DEF: 100

"Open the gate has another ability. I can tribute this card and return to my hand in order to Ritual Summon a monster from my Deck! From the darkest parts of the ocean, come to the surface to take reign of the land! Ritual Summon! Come, Level 5! Nekroz Sea King!"

A green reptilian appeared on the field. It had a crown on its head, a long red cape, and a trident in its hands.

"Sea King's effect activates! I can Special Summon its summoning material on the field in ATK mode! Come, Nekroz Lock!"

Nekroz Lock Level 5, Water, Spellcaster, ATK: 2000, DEF: 100

"Furthermore, Sea King's rises the ATK of all "Nekroz" monsters on the field by 300 including itself!"

Nekroz Sea King ATK: 2600

"I set a card down and end my turn." Kyle smirked at his brother."So? How would you respond, Kurono? Would you let your emotions take over you and forfeit this match? Or will you be the arrogant asshole that you are and try to finish me? Do impress me."

Kyle hand: 3

Kurono gritted his teeth and with resignation, he drew his card."My turn. I draw! I summon Gishki Chain from my hand!"

Gishki Chain Level 4, Water, Sea Serpent, ATK: 1800, DEF: 1000

"I activate Chain's Special Effect! I can look at the top 3 cards of my Deck and if I draw any Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell, I can show it to you." He drew the cards and took the one in the middle."I reveal Evigishki Psychelone! I then add it to my hand and set the two cards back to my deck in any order. Now, I activate the Spell Card, Quick Ritual! I pay 400 LP in order to Ritual Summon a monster from my hand without any tributes" He winced as he felt a surge of electricity shook his body.

Kurono LP: 3600

"I Ritual Summon Evigishki Psychelone in ATK mode!'

Gishki Psychelone Level 4, Water, Fiend, Ritual, ATK: 2150, DEF: 1650

"I activate her effect! I can declare a monster type and attribute and look at a random card in your hand. If a monster fits that criteria, you shuffle back to your Deck! I choose Water-Type, Spellcaster!"

The card in the middle of Kyle's hand began to shine, causing him to erupt into a fit of laughter."I got it! You fell or it! I activate the Trap Card, Psycho Down! I can activate this trap card only when a monster that was Special Summoned on your field activates its effect! I can negate the effect and force you to take damage equal to the ATK of my weakest monster!"

"AAAAAAGRAAAAH!" Kurono screamed in pure agony as he was electrocuted once more. He felt on his knees, smoke coming out of his body.

Kurono LP: 3600 - 2300 = 1300

"Already down to more than half your LP." Kyle cackled like a madman."What a pathetic sign for the leader of the Militia to be in, don't you think?"

"I...I guess you have a point but...you are the one who fell into my trap! I activate the Quick-play Spell, Zero Gravity Union! I can use this card when I have less than half of my original LP! I can...increase Psychelone's ATks by double!"

Gishki Psychelone ATK: 2150 x 2 = 4300

"What?!"

"Go, Psychelone! Attack Sea King!" Psychelone used her wings and flew over to the Sea King, hitting it with her tail.

Kyle LP: 2000

"I set a card and end my turn!" Kurono gasped for air."So...who is down to half their LP now?!"

Kurono Hand: 3

"Why am I inferior to you?!" Kyle growled, standing back to his feet."Why?! Why is it you who gets to have everything?! Why am I the only one who has to not have anything! My turn! I draw! I activate the Spell Card, Resurrection of the Nekroz! I send a card from my hand to the graveyard! With that, I can Special Summon a "Nekroz" monster from my Graveyard back to my field! Arise, Sea King! Next, I activate the Spell Card, Chaotic Fusion!"

"It can't be! Kyle, don't use that card! You'll lose yourself! PLEASE!" His cries were cut off by a gust of purple wind as Kyle laughed maniacally.

"I'm going to squash you like a bug! Monster that feeds itself with the hatred of the victory of the chosen ones! Bring forth a world with absolute rule! CHAOS FUSION SUMMON! BEFALL, LEVEL 7! CHAOS NEKROZ RULE!"

A monster with a crimson robe appeared on the field, floating on top of a black dragon. It rose a staff in its hand, commanding its beast to shriek.

"Rule's effect activates! I can destroy your monster and no effects can be activated in response!" The dragon shot a fire blastt at Psychelone, eradicating her in seconds.

"I could just attack you now, but I want you to suffer! I want you to know the pain that I've felt! When Rule destroys a monster by its effect, you can Special Summon that monster back on your field with half of its ATKs!"

"Battle! Go, Nekroz Rule! KILL HIM!"

"I activate my Trap Card, For One! For the rest of this turn, all damage I take is halved!"

The mage rose its staff, commanding its dragon to fired a crimson ball of energy that sent Psychelone crashing against the floor before exploding. Kurono was sent rolling on the floor.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Kyle was now losing it. He was practically unrecognizable to Kurono. His younger brother was nowhere inside this person. Or maybe he was."I end my turn!"

"You're right...I'm a lousy brother and...I left you alone for most of our lives. I thought I was doing some good. Keeping you protected from chaos. But I was wrong. And looking at you now is clear. I failed. But I can still guide you on the right path.

"What?" Kyle scowled at his brother.

"I'm taking you down for your own good, Kyle! I'm going to save you! My turn! I draw! But you aren't going alone! I promise! I activate the Spell Card, Final Choice! I target a monster on our field, and we both will take damage equal to its total ATKs!"

"What?! You're insane! You'll kill both of us!" Kyle gasped in fear.

Kurono was not scared. He smiled at his brother. Kyle could swear he had not seen Kurono smiled at him like that for a long time."I love you, Kyle. And I'm sorry. But I can't let you be this monster that they made you...no...I did."

A huge explosion suddenly appeared on the field and began expanding towards the duelists.

"I activate my Continous Trap Card, Null Order! When effect damage is about to be dealt, I can set that damage back to zero and store it!"

A testing tube appeared on the field, absorbing the explosion with ease and closing before it could go out.

Kurono's eyes were wide in shook. He lowered his head and fell to his knees."I suppose I can't rob you of your victory. I won't continue this duel, Kyle. I have no right to do so after my failures. I let you down, so it's fitting you make me pay. I end my turn."

Kyle looked down at his older brother, already on his knees and defeated. All he had to do was finish the duel with one attack. Once he did that, he could go on to end this war...become a hero. The hero Johan was. He began breathing rapidly, grabbing his head in agony."Johan...JOHAN! GRAAAAAAAH! MY! TURN! I...I! I ACTIVATE...Null Order's second effect! I can choose a player and deal them damage equal to whatever amount of damage was stored. I WILL TAKE THAT DAMAGEEEEEE!" He screamed as the explosion engulfed him and his monster.

"What...?" Kurono breathed as his shackle finally released him. He rushed over to his brother before he was met with a kick to the gut. Kurono fell on his back, rubbing his stomach to suppress the pain.

"I don't need your pity...brother." Kyle smiled, his eyes going back to normal."I lost that right a while ago. I lost myself in my own greed and insecurities. It's sad, but...maybe I wasn't a worthy successor for Johan..."

"Don't say that!" Kurono was desperately trying to find a way to free his brother from his binds. The shackles began shining and Kyle simply laid back down.

"I leave the rest to you...hopefully by then, I could be at peace with...myself..." His voice trailed off as he was carded by the shackles. Kurono struggled to pick his card back up, tears gather around his eyes.

"YOU DAMN KID! YOU GOD DAMN! STUPID! FUCKING! KID!" He began banging the floor furiously with his fists, leaving a trail of blood behind from the impact."KYLE! KYLEEEEE!" He screamed to the heavens.

His actions were being monitored by a nearby camera. Seiko was watching the whole ordeal with her Duel Disk. She sighed, turning off the feed. She glanced over to a machine behind her as a red light began shining, adding to the other nine in the room.

"I'm here." Daisuke said as he opened the door.

"So? How is it outside?" She quirked a brow.

"The Lancers are fighting the Battle Beast. Don't know about Reiji, though. But seems like the Doktor's plan is going accordingly as well."

"So, the only loss we've taken are Evan, Makoto, and Ace." She folded her arms under her chest."I guess I was wrong expecting them to provide more for us, but I guess them being only three was already bad. They were good distractions though, in their last moments."

"What about that Kyle kid?"

"Him? Useless. But thanks to him, we've harnessed the last bit of chaos energy. It's finally time to get my plan into action." Seiko began heading to a compartment in the middle of the room. It was dark inside and one could not see what was inside.

"Seiko, wait," Daisuke called out to her.

She paused, shoulders slumping."What now?"

"Are you sure...you really want to go through this. You must likely will not retain your senses." Daisuke had an uncharacteristically concerned look on his face."You're giving up your life for this? What would Irina say? Think about it."

"There's nothing to thing. This had to be done, Daisuke, so stop whining and get this going." She waved at him without turning around."We've come so far for us to simply back down. Too many sacrifices." She entered the room, the doors closing slowly behind her."See you...Daisuke."

Daisuke bit his lower lip but relented. He walked over to the control panel and began programming the computer. As he typed away, the 10 energy tubes began going out slowly by tubes that were connected to the room Seiko was in.

Inside of it, Seiko began feeling the energy around her changing."Now...it's finally time for the climax. And for this world to finally end!" She said, her eyes glowing a deep shade of red.
