A Sort of Brief Explanation of Karma's "Childhood"

Karma was born on June 15, in Minnesota, to Kayda and Advik . There's no record of their last name. Her family was very involved in gangs and yakuza and villainy, so, according to Karma, her family moved around a lot and couldn't risk being caught and changed their last name a lot. They were extremely wealthy and had many, many weapons, all of which Karma could name and use by the time she was 3 years old. Her Quirk, Elemental Manipulation, manifested when she was 3 years old, which was a year early, and she caused a lot of damage.

2 years later, when she was 5, she wandered off into the woods, where her parents always told her not to go. There, she found out about a second Quirk that she had, a voice named Ira. Ira gave her a chance of extreme power, and Karma accepted it. Ira then took over. When Karma realized what was happening, she tried to regain control over her body, but to no avail. Eventually, she figured out that that self inflicted harm would help her regain control. The heroes had come too late, and found over 50 corpses, including Karma's parents, and a little girl with a terrible scar on her left eye.

Karma was put into her maternal grandmother's custody, and together, after the funeral, the two of them flew to Japan. There, she was experimented on by Kai Chisaki, a.k.a Overhaul, who was her grandmother's adopted son, who found out about Ira. For the next eight years, she was subjected to beatings, lies, torture, psychological abuse, intense training, pain, misery, mistreatment, and all the terrible things you can imagine they did to the poor girl who withstood it all for eight years.

Throughout the torture, she quickly adapted and learned how to detect lies and exceed the limits of her Quirk. She became quick to mistrust others, especially those she didn't know. She was put in middle school, where everyone hated her for always being better at everything than everyone else. She was nicknamed 'The Itsy Bitsy Know-It-All', and was subjected to having people, including her own family, force her to watch terrifying videos of spiders and insects.

One day, when she was five years old, she was severely beaten up and was left lying near an alley, with no one to help her. Then, Shota Aizawa found her and took her to the Hotta Brothers. After he asked what happened, she told him everything. They quickly became good friends, and Aizawa swore to her that she could always trust him, no matter what. During that time, he became her number one confidant, and she became fast friends with Jiro and Ichiro Hotta and Pop Step, The Crawler, and Knuckleduster.

2 years after she'd moved to Japan, she was walking and talking with her grandmother. Ira convinced her to ask her grandmother what'd happen if all the blood in the body would go to a certain place in the body, such as a hand. Her grandmother was about to respond, but she passed out before she could answer the question. Karma had unknowingly drawn all the blood in her grandmother's body to her hand. She ran to get help, but she was too late. She was disowned at her grandmother's funeral and was given a note from her grandmother, who had time and time again told Karma that she could trust her, that no 7-year-old should have to read which her step-grandfather read out loud to everyone at the funeral, which only made her trust issues even worse.

After that happened, everyone in her family, including her paternal family, neglected and despised her and called her 'Akuma', which means 'Devil' in Japanese, and constantly reminded her of the fact that if it wasn't for her, her grandmother and parents would still be there. Despite the fact that she'd been disowned, she still was in her grandfather's custody. This made Karma feel extremely guilty over their deaths and have extremely low confidence in herself, despite the fact that she was great at practically everything she did. Because of feeling she couldn't do anything right, she strived to fix it and underwent serious solo training.

When she was 11, she went on a murderous rampage after she let Ira take over after Eri, her baby cousin, had been taken away from her and she wasn't able to protect her. She finally confronted the villain Muscular, who came to get revenge on her since she killed his brother. At this point, Karma had regained control over herself, and was feeling extremely guilty about the deaths. She still put up a fight against Muscular, though, but eventually yielded to him, and he struck a blow that nearly killed her. It caused internal bleeding, and while defending herself, she severely burnt her forearms, and they got many cuts, which is why she wears bandages around her forearms, which was where the main damage from what Chisaki did to her was. She fell into Kai Chisaki's custody when he caused her grandfather to be in a coma.

Chisaki had a fiery hatred for Karma, since her grandmother was like a mother to him. This prompted him to test his Quirk erasing bullets on her and torture her by killing and reviving her back to back, which caused levels of pain that would've killed any normal person. She'd gotten shot by them multiple times, but she usually got the people who were restraining her shot. This is how she managed to not lose her Quirk despite having most of the prototypes tested on her. He also took her apart and put her back together over, and over, and over, and over again.

After the raid on Shie Hassaikai, she escaped and built robots that she pretended were her parents and rented an apartment. She pretended to be homeschooled and worked multiple jobs to keep on staying in the apartment. At some point, she bought it so she wouldn't have to pay the rent anymore.

Chapter 1

Ok, ok, kids, simmer down, all right? How am I supposed to tell you about Auntie Karma if you aren't listening to the story? Remember, you have to tell me to stop if something happens in the story that you find too scary, all right? Good. Now I'll get on with the story.

It was the beginning of November in Musutafu, Japan, and Karma was walking home while passing U.A. She tensed. She was being watched. The person looked pretty tall, and was wearing a long, tattered, dark blue coat.

"Eddie, figure out who's watching me ASAP", she muttered.

"On it.".

She sped up. The sooner you get back to the apartment, the better. Karma hadn't even been staying under the radar for a month, and it was still exhausting. Making excuses to the other people who lived in the apartment on why her 'parents' never left the apartment was difficult enough, but she also had to work seven minimum wage jobs to make money so she could have daily meals.

She'd never slept too much, since it gave Ira a chance to take over, but lately she was only getting about four hours of sleep a week, which was even less sleep than she usually got. She also had to worry about not getting caught. After all, lying to pretty much every authority figure around had to have many consequences.

"Eddie, have you figured out who's following me?",

"Not yet. The person is doing a good job at hiding their face, though I have a suspect, and you won't exactly be too pleased about who it is."

"Who is it?",

"Dabi, of the League of Villains.",

"Crap.".

Just my luck. One of the League of Villains' top members is stalking me. They probably found out about the damage I've done.

They have a valid reason for seeking you out, though.

Shut up, Ira.

Now that's just mean. I know, I know, I'm terrible and am the reason-

Stop. You're not the reason they're dead, and you know that. I put my curiosity over my morals, not you. I'm not going to argue about this, alright.

Then, it started raining.

"Dang it.", Karma muttered. "There just has to be a thunderstorm when I'm carrying, like, $100 worth of groceries.".

Maybe it's because you need to actually forgive yourself.

Or maybe it's because you need to stay out of my head and stop trying to get me to do self destructive things that will hurt everyone around me.

I prefer my explanation.

Obviously.

Admit it. It's fun to have unlimited power. It- what's the word? - frees you. I can't blame you. Having the power of a god must be fantastic.

I'm not going to let you take over, Ira. If I hurt any more people because I let you take over, I'll drive myself insane. Besides, you heard what the doctor said. If I get injured that badly again, it'll probably kill me, which would kill you.

True, but still. It feels amazing to be in control, and when I'm in control, you'll be able to do virtually anything. You know the feeling. Just wait and see, Karma. We'll take the world by storm, and-

Shut up, ok! Just shut up! I'm not going to let you take over, alright?! I'll kill too many people and destroy the world! I don't want that to happen! I don't want to be a villain. I'm a good person! I-I-I'm not a monster!

Stop trying to convince yourself of that. You know for a fact that you went too deep-

"Karma!", called out a voice. Karma flinched and looked up, and her mood immediately brightened.

"Eri! I missed you! You're ok, right? How are you? You've been staying hydrated, right?".

Eri had always been like a little sister to Karma, and she'd do anything for her. Eri giggled.

"Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Where have you been? I missed you!",

"I'm sorry, sweetie. I just needed to stay under the radar. How's U.A?",

"How'd you know that I'm living at U.A?",

"Why would you just assume that I don't know where you are?",

"True. U.A's super fun! I'm friends with Deku and Lemillion, who're SUPER nice and cool and rescued me, and Aizawa Sensei is also really nice, too, and he takes care of me really well!".

Karma's blood went cold.

"Aizawa Sensei?",

"Mhm!".

"Eri, where are you?! What've I told you about running off-",

Shota Aizawa stopped in his tracks.

Chapter 2

-on your own.", Aizawa said slowly after seeing Karma. She immediately shrank and looked at the ground. Eri broke the silence.

"Do you all want to go inside? It's really cold out here.",

"Sure, Eri...", said Aizawa.

"I'm sorry, Eri, but I have to go back to my apartment. I have to put my groceries away.",

"Then can we go to your apartment? Please?".

"That depends on what Aizawa says.".

Eri looked at him. "Please?".

"Fine.", he said after a sigh.

"Yay!".

Karma and Aizawa walked on either side of Eri, who was talking about the U.A School Festival, Deku, Lemillion, and candy apples. Despite the fact that she was trying to avoid others, seeing Eri smile made her day. She'd tried to teach her how to smile, so the fact that she'd been able to learn how to made her the happiest person in the universe. As for seeing Aizawa, well… she wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel.

Aizawa had taken care of her for three years. He'd saved her from bullies, took care of her, laughed with her, and was always there for her. The day she'd been hidden from the world and taken away from him by Overhaul crushed her. Stop thinking about that, Karma. "We're here.".

The apartment had a pretty dark theme. The walls were dark blue, and the kitchen counter was black, as were the cupboards, oven, and microwave. There were a few pieces of art on the walls, all done by Karma. There wasn't a dining table, and the living room was very messy. There were tools, instruments, pieces of technology, et. cetera, everywhere.

Eri giggled.

"Your place is SUPER dark. Can I play with your stuff?",

"Of course, sweetie. What do you want to do?",

"I wanna draw stuff.",

"All right, sweetie.".

Karma got a piece of paper and crayons and gave them to Eri. Side by side, she and Aizawa watched her draw.

"I thought that you'd have learned to organize by the time you were thirteen, Karma.", Aizawa said after a few minutes of silence, raising an eyebrow. Karma gave him a small smile. "Face it, Shota. I'm never going to be organized. Ever.". She risked a glance at him. It looked like he was trying hard to suppress a smile.

"Yeah, you're probably right. Some things just never change.",

"Yeah.".

After a bit, Aizawa said, "Eri, can you go to Karma's bedroom? I want to talk to her in private.", "Ok!".

Karma took her little cousin to her bedroom. It was pretty much the exact thing as the living room, except it was, well, a bedroom.

"Have fun, Eri!",

"Thanks, Karma!".

She went back to the living room. Aizawa was inspecting some of her work on a chair.

"Where did you get all of this?",

"The garbage dump.",

"I thought you're germaphobic?",

"Only a bit. Besides, I took very tiresome detoxification measures to clean it.",

"That doesn't surprise me. Are the robots supposed to act as your guardians?",

"Yup.".

Aizawa stood up and walked towards Karma.

"How long have you been living like this?",

"Since you guys rescued Eri.",

"Why didn't you come to me then? You wouldn't have had to be living like this. You look like you haven't slept in days! I'd have no problem with taking care of you! You could've come to U.A and helped with Eri's recovery!".

He paused.

"Karma?".

All the stress and emotions that had been building up inside of Karma since that day just exploded, and she broke down into tears.

Aizawa's face fell, and hugged her, just to help lessen the pain. "What'd you do?". And so she explained everything that happened two years ago, the day she'd let the little voice in her head take over, the day she'd killed all those people, the day she killed Muscular's brother, the day she and Muscular fought as hard as they could, the day she was in the greatest pain she'd ever been, the day she'd nearly been killed. And Aizawa was there the whole time, comforting her. I know, I know, that doesn't sound like him, but everyone had a soft spot for Karma, especially him. Her death hit him the hardest out of everyone.

"Karma, stop crying. You didn't kill all those people. Ira did.",

"I still gave in to her encouragement. I still put my curiosity over all my morals.",

"Yes, you did, but you were only eleven years old. Eri'd just been taken away from you and you couldn't do anything to stop it. I know that you've been through a lot, Karma, but you were still eleven.",

"But I'm a murderer.",

"That wasn't you, Karma. It wasn't you.".

Karma held onto him tighter.

"Are you sure about that?",

"Absolutely.", he replied without even a moment of hesitation.

They stood there together, hugging each other for some time. "Karma, do you want to join U.A?". She looked up at him. "What?", "Do you want to join U.A?". She frowned.

"But it's so late in the school year.",

"So?",

"I don't think that's how the system works.",

"I'll bypass it, although you're still in trouble for pretending to have a guardian and lying to the authorities.",

"Obviously.".

Karma pulled away from Aizawa. "Well then, I better start packing.", she said with a smile.

Chapter 3

Aizawa and Eri said bye to Karma. On their way back to U.A, Aizawa wondered whether or not Nezu would let Karma into the school. She had a point when she said that letting someone into the school near the end of the second term was extremely irrational, and most people who knew him would say that it wasn't like him to do something like that and that he just had a soft spot for her, which was mostly true.

Still, he knew that she'd make a great hero. She was smart, strong, had an excellent Quirk that could be both offensive and defensive, and had great control over it. She was pretty much the perfect hero. The only problem was that most of the things she could do with her Quirk could seriously drain her, sometimes to the point where she could barely stand, but she could fix that after some serious training, which, knowing her, she'd probably already done.

"Aizawa Sensei?",

"Yes?",

"Is Karma going to start going to U.A?",

"Only if Principal Nezu says yes.",

"Will he?",

"We'll just have to wait and see.".

They walked in silence together back to U.A.

Meanwhile, Karma was finding all the information she could on Dabi. She couldn't find anything about his past, but she had a hunch on what his secret identity was. She was also researching the other members of the League of Villains pasts.

From what she could tell, the majority of the League joined to fit in because they were rejected by society because of their Quirks, wanted to fulfill Stain's legacy, or just had violent tendencies. By looking at pieces of evidence, she figured that Dabi was looking for new recruits and deemed all the people he found unworthy and burnt them alive.

Not the ideal way to get recruits, don't ya think?

For once, I have to agree with you.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

So, are we going to be attending U.A now?

Depends on what Nezu says.

I won't be surprised if he says yes or no. On one hand, you have an awesome Quirk and have great control of it. On the other hand, you have a god who has a murder complex and wants to destroy the world and kill all life on the planet in your head.

Maybe they'll figure out a way to get you out of my head.

I doubt it. You were born with me, remember? Even All For Once couldn't take me away, and even if he could, they'd never set him free just to take me away from you. I'd anyways just go to him, which is not something anyone would want. Besides, there are too many people who could trigger our PTSD. It's the main reason we've avoided people for so long. And how exactly do you expect to control our temper? The worst thing you'll do is pin someone to the wall by their throat, and we both know what happened last time you did that.

Shut up and let me focus.

Fiiiine.

Aizawa opened the door to the teacher's lounge. "What is it, Aizawa?", asked Present Mic. "I found Karma.".

All Might just looked confused, Ectoplasm's eyes widened, Snipe looked extremely startled, Hound Dog started barking very loudly, Present Mic started screaming "WHAAAAAAT?", Midnight and Cementoss and Vlad King just looked surprised, and Nezu started clapping.

"That's wonderful! We must enroll her into the Hero Course! She can be in your class, Aizawa!", said Nezu. "Really? Just like that?", said All Might, "I thought you'd put more thought into that decision. By the way, who is she?", "Oh, I know, I know, but she already had so much skill with her Quirk when she was seven years old! Imagine how powerful she is now! I'll let Aizawa answer your second question.". Ectoplasm put his hands together. "Well then, let's tell her.".

Chapter 4

"Class, someone will be joining us today.", said Aizawa. "Be careful what you say to them, because you might trigger their PTSD.". The class immediately started talking amongst themselves about what the person would be like.

"What could've happened to them that'd give them PTSD?", wondered Mina. "Lots of things.", Shoto replied, "I'm not going to say them, though.". "Why?", asked Izuku. "Because she's coming through the door right now.".

The whole class directed their attention to the tall, muscular girl who walked through the door. She looked like she was analyzing everyone's strengths and weaknesses. It didn't seem like she was looking forward to introducing herself to the class. She had serious dark circles, and it looked like she hadn't slept for the past few days. She also was wearing khaki pants instead of the usual skirt for the girls uniform and her overall demeanor greatly resembled that of Aizawa's and had curly black hair with blue tips that looked like it hadn't been combed for the past few days.

"My name is Karma. In case you're wondering why I look like I haven't slept for the past few days, it's because I haven't.". She then walked to the seat in the very back and sat down. The way she said it also was very similar to the way Aizawa would've said it, and it also looked like she was baring her teeth at them the way a dog would when it senses a threat. Her canines looked extremely pointed and sharp, and the class saw a few scars across her hands and wrists.

"She seems friendly.", Kaminari remarked. "What's up with her teeth? She looks scary. I'm definitely not going after her.", Mineta said. "I may be at the very back of the classroom, but I'm not deaf.", Karma replied. Kaminari and Mineta glared as the rest of the class started laughing. "You're really mean, you know that?", "Yup.". The class then started laughing even harder.

After class was over, Izuku, Ochako, and Tenya walked over to Karma after class was over. "Hi! I'm Izuku Midoriya. These are my friends Uraraka and Iida.". "Hi! Nice to meet you", said Uraraka. "Hello, Karma. It is a pleasure to meet you. As Midoriya said, I am Tenya. Tenya Iida. I am the class representative. It is a pleasure having you in Class 1-A.", "Uh, thanks.".

From what Izuku could tell, Karma was a very introverted person. "Do you want to have lunch with us?". Karma looked surprised. "Really?", "Yeah!". She looked at her desk. "Sure.".

The four of them walked to lunch together. Midoriya, Iida, and Uraraka threw an insane amount of questions at Karma. Wow. I never thought that people would want to be friends with me. They wouldn't want to if they knew about me.

"Karma? You okay?", asked Uraraka. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just that not many people try to be my friend.", she said, feeling apologetic. "What were you talking about? I kind of get lost in my head sometimes.". "That's totally fine! I do that all the time when I'm taking notes on other people's Quirks!", replied Midoriya.

"Deku's muttering is a trademark part of his personality.".

"Uraraka! You have to make sure you make a good impression!",

"It's fine.",

"Are you sure? Haven't we tainted your view of U.A?",

"Nope.".

They walked into the lunchroom. "This is where we eat lunch.", "Got it.". They all got their lunches and sat at a table.

"What stuff do you like, Karma?",

"I like playing video games, reading, making any type of technology, rock climbing, music, cooking, martial arts, using my VR headset, listening to music, and punching and kicking things as hard as I can.",

"Wow. That's a lot of things.",

"I know. Just so you know, I'm vegetarian, so please don't offer me anything that has meat in it.",

"Got it!".

They started talking about something, but Karma forgot to keep paying attention after about five minutes.

They seem pretty nice.

Mhm.

Wonder what their reaction would be if they found out about me. Hey, that rhymes!

I don't think they'd be too pleased about the fact that I have a genocidal god in my head. Especially since I killed all those people.

True. By the way, when are you going to accept that I killed them and you didn't? You have no idea how annoying it is to be in your head while you're wallowing in guilt over killing all those people. It's been two years. Get over it!

I'm not going to argue with you about this, Ira. I let you take over, therefore it's my fault that all of that happened, meaning that I was the one who caused that to happen, ok?! And the only reason you aren't feeling guilty is because you neither have a conscience nor a shred of decency!

So? Tons of people have even less decency than me. Besides, from what I can tell, having a conscience sucks. It also can distract you from doing something that's essential for you to become big in life! Your conscience will probably make you do something that helps others but doesn't help you!

You're only proving my point, Ira.

And you're proving mine. Your conscience is the reason you're feeling so guilty over what you did. By the way, I think you should tell someone about the fact that Dabi was following you. I think that that should be one of your main priorities right now. After all, it's not like it's normal for someone to be followed by a Class A villain.

Lemme guess, you're going to try and convince me to join.

You know me so well.

Over my dead body. I'm not going to join the League of Villains, Ira! Nezu let me into the Hero Course without hesitation! I'm not going to betray everyone's trust!

It'd make sense, judging our family history.

They're not my family.

I thought you didn't hold grudges.

It's not a grudge. They disowned me, remember.

Obviously. Who wouldn't remember being-

Stop it. I know you're trying to find an opening to take over, but it won't work.

You just don't want anyone to worry about you.

That's because I don't deserve to have people who worry about me.

Aw, don't say that.

I don't, and that's that.

"Karma, are you ok?", asked Uraraka, "you don't look so good.". "I'm fine, just a little tired.", replied Karma. "Are you sure?", asked Midoriya.

"You look like you're remembering something unpleasant.",

"I know.",

"So you are? Because if you are, you can always tell us.",

"Yeah!",

"You can always count on us! Or anyone in Class 1-A! As class representative, I will always be there to listen to your troubles!",

"Thanks, guys. I'd tell you all my problems, but it'd take days to explain all of them.",

"Doesn't matter! We'll do anything for a friend!",

"We're friends? Already?",

"That depends on you. Do you wanna be friends?".

Do I? I mean, it's not like I deserve friends.

I know! You probably shouldn't accept. I mean, you're a murderous psychopath at times, so they'll be scared off anyways, so what's the point?

"Sure.". Midoriya, Uraraka, and Tenya beamed. Wow. I can not believe you just did the opposite of what I just said. How unbelievable. "Well, let's get to class, now. We don't want to be late!".

Chapter 5

After school was over, everyone headed back to the dorms. Karma went to her room right away. She'd redecorated over the weekend, and she loved it. It looked almost exactly like the apartment she'd bought and had been living in the past few months.

It had dark blue walls, with lots of works of art lining the walls. She also hung her guitars, ukulele, and recorders on the walls. She made secret compartments in the walls, as well, for her little side projects and money she'd earned over the past few months. She'd installed a punching bag, rocking chair, live cameras, TV, desktop computer, and gaming console in the room as well.

After finding out where the rest of her "family" were living, she turned them into the Police Force. Since she was currently the oldest person in the family that wasn't arrested, she became the family matriarch. She also had complete control over the family fortune, meaning she could spend it however she wanted. She and Eri met with their cousins, and she decided to educate them in her own way. Karma decided that a group of six would live in each family mansion in each country, and they'd all have au pairs to take care of them. Karma made sure that they'd have a normal life, and if anyone asked them about their family, they'd give the most vague answer possible. It was a big family, and there were 2 mansions each in America, Israel, India, Japan, Britain, France, and Iceland. The rest of the family was in prison for all the crimes they'd committed.

After finishing her homework, Karma worked on her side projects for an hour, and then played video games for the next hour. She did almost all of this in her rocking chair, which acted as her bed. She had a dark blue sleeping bag to keep her warm if she ended up sleeping at all.

Someone knocked on the door. Karma opened it. "Hi, Karma! Do you wanna hang out with us in the common room?", asked Ochako, "I wanna introduce you to everyone in class.", "Sure.".

Did you just say yes to hanging out with people?

I think I just said yes to hanging out with people.

Karma walked with Ochako to the common room. Everyone was there, although some people didn't look too pleased about being there. "Hi Karma.", everyone said. "Everyone, introduce yourselves!", Tenya said after clapping his hands together.

"I'm Yuga Aoyama.",

"I'm Mina!",

"I'm Tsuyu, but you can call me Tsu.",

"I'm Ojiro.",

"I'm Kaminari, the guy you roasted. By the way-",

"Don't be so unmanly, dude! Sorry about him. I'm Kirishima!",

"I'm Rikido. This is Koda. He mostly speaks in sign language.",

"I'm Shoji.",

"I'm Kyoka.",

"I'm Sero, and I have tape dispensers for elbows!",

"I'm Fukimage Tokoyami.",

"I'm Todoroki.",

"I'm Toru!",

"I'm Bakugo. I WILL kill you-",

"Please don't threaten her, Kacchan! It's only her first day here!",

"Shut up, Deku!",

"I'm Mineta. Pleasure to-",

"Don't you dare do anything to her, Mineta!",

"I'm Momo Yaoyorozu!",

"I'M GOING BACK TO MY ROOM NOW!",

"No, you are not! We all will get to know Karma as well as we can!",

"Do you have to?".

Everyone turned to look at her. "You don't want us to know you as well as we can?", asked Tenya, looking confused. "How about you find out more about me gradually throughout the rest of the school year?", Karma nervously said.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap.

How do you always manage to make a mess out of every social situation we find ourselves in?

I hate life soooo much.

Bakugo now looked suspicious. "It sounds like you're hiding something from us.". Karma took a moment to regain her composure. "Do I have to tell you everything about my life? Is that really necessary?". "All you told us is that you haven't slept for that past few days! That's barely anything! We don't even know your Quirk!", interjected Kaminari. Karma grit her teeth. Life sucks sooooo much right now. Why, why, why, why, whyyyyyyy?!

"Fine. I'll tell you what my Quirk is, but that's it.". Bakugo snorted. "Just your Quirk? Not good enough.". Karma sighed. What is the world's problem with us? This is probably punishment for letting you take over. "My Quirk is Elemental Manipulation. It allows me to manipulate water, fire, earth, air, and all the subcategories.". She then projected a picture of her room on the wall. Everyone's jaws dropped.

"You put cameras in your room?! Why?", asked Rikido. "Personal reasons. One moment.". She looked through her pockets and found a button. She tapped it and the compartments she'd built opened up. "You installed secret compartments in your room?!", Bakugo yelled. "Yup.". "But you've only been here for a few days!", whined Mineta. "I worked hard.". "What's in there?", inquired Kyoka. "A couple of side projects.". "HOW DO YOU HAVE A TV, GAMING CONSOLE, ROCKING CHAIR, AND DESKTOP COMPUTER IN YOUR ROOM?!", Kaminari screeched. "I bought them. Goodbye.". "IS THAT A VR HEADSET?!", yelled Kirishima. "LOOK AT ALL THE BOOKS!", screamed Tenya.

We'd better get out of here.

You've finally come up with a decent idea.

I have tons of decent ideas.

Don't flatter yourself. Now let's get out of here!

Karma backed away slowly and then flew back to her dorm room as fast as she could, slammed the door, put her back against as hard as she could, and put a soundproofing shield outside of it, just to be safe.

Why do you have to be so bad at handling social situations?

It's bad karma because I let you take over! Ugh! Why did I have to be so stupid!

You have a point, but who wouldn't want to be a god?

Everything comes with a cost, Ira. Everything does.

"Let us in!", yelled Kaminari, banging on the door. "Oh no.", Karma mumbled, "Not now.". She started shaking all over, she was suddenly sweating everywhere, her heart was pounding, and the memories were flooding back. A panic attack. Just what she needed.

She saw her old room in her grandmother's mansion, and heard the banging at the door. She slid onto the floor and started whimpering.

It's ok, it's ok, it's ok. You're going to be fine, Karma, you're going to be fine. Everything's going to be alright.

Yes! Finally, an opening to take over! This is it, Karma! You're finally going to have the power of gods at your hands! Don't worry, I won't overdo it to the point you go into another week-long coma, or to the point that I've used up all the energy you have and basically end up killing both you and me, which would suck for obvious reasons.

There is no way I'm letting you take over, no matter what dirty tricks you play. I'm not letting you take over thanks to my stupid mistake that led into me having a panic attack. I won't let you, I won't, I won't, I won't!

She started hyperventilating and curled up in a ball. She couldn't hear any outside noises. All she could hear was the banging, the yelling, the pounding of her heart, the sheer terror she'd always felt in that house. Karma started to silently sob to herself. Help, someone, please, help. Help me, someone please. She was in unimaginable pain. She remembered the beatings she'd gotten from her fellow classmates. She remembered everything. Every. Single. Detail.

It was getting hard to breathe. The shaking got worse. "Help. Someone, help, please.", Karma whispered. The pain intensified. At this point, Karma's soundproofing shield had gone down. Eventually, she couldn't hold them back anymore, and they burst into her dorm.

Everything was feeling a billion times worse. "In-inhaler...", she whispered. It hurt to breathe. She was aware of the fact that she was losing consciousness. She started coughing up blood, and everything went black.

Chapter 6

Izuku yelled, "Quickly, someone get an inhaler!". He'd tried to get the mob to not bang on her door, but they didn't listen. "She's coughing up blood!", screamed Mina. Izuku looked up and saw Karma coughing up a substantial amount of blood. "Someone, find a respirator, quickly!", Iida ordered. "She's blacked out.", said Todoroki.

Aizawa Sensei and Recovery Girl rushed in with Iida. "What happened?", Aizawa Sensei demanded. The class exchanged guilty looks. They all silently watched as Recovery Girl healed Karma. Aizawa Sensei looked furious. That's unusual. Aizawa Sensei's never reacted to someone getting hurt like this.

"What was the first thing I told all of you?", Aizawa asked. "To not do something that might trigger Karma's PTSD.", the class mumbled. "And what did you do?", "Trigger her PTSD.". He shook his head. A blush wave hit the class, and hit Kaminari and Mineta especially hard. Even Kacchan, who rarely apologized about anything, resorted to looking at the ground. "Everyone go to your rooms.", "Yes, sir.". They all walked out of the room and to their dorm rooms.

Back in the room, Aizawa was putting Karma in her rocking chair. I'd have thought that you'd start preferring beds by the time you were 13, Karma. Just at that moment, her eyes fluttered open. "What happened?", she asked. Seeing Aizawa's sympathetic expression, her face fell. "Oh…", she mumbled. He moved her hair out of her left eye and gently touched her scar.

"Sorry about that, Karma. The class just doesn't like it when people aren't telling them the entire story.",

"It's fine. They had a valid reason to do it. It's my fault. I shouldn't've agreed to socialize. You know how bad I am at it.",

"True. They still triggered a panic attack, though.",

"Only because I showed them the dorm room and the secret compartments.",

"Secret compartments? Never mind, of course you'd put secret compartments in your room. I'll remind everyone again, tomorrow, alright? And, by the way, you can unenroll, if it's too much.",

"No, it's fine.",

"Are you sure?",

"Absolutely.",

"Ok. Get some sleep, alright? Night.",

"Night.".

He turned off the lights, closed the door, and headed back to the teacher's lounge.

He hoped that something like that wouldn't happen again. He knew how bad Karma's panic attacks could get, so he was glad that Tenya had managed to get him and Recovery Girl in time. Otherwise things could've gotten much, much worse.

Aizawa remembered the worst panic attack she'd had before her grandmother died. It'd been so bad that she'd been choking on her own blood. She couldn't stop shaking, and she was in even worse pain than she was today. Aizawa didn't want anything like that to happen to Karma ever again. Before seeing that, he didn't know what was worse: Feeling that pain or watching someone he cared about go through that kind of pain. After seeing it happen to Karma, he decided it was the latter.

"Is she better?", asked Present Mic. "You could say that.". Ectoplasm shook his head. "Honestly!", he said, "you'd think that a class of 20 15-year-olds would know not to do those kinds of things to their peers!". Midnight and Cementoss nodded their heads in agreement. They all felt a bit overprotective of Karma since they knew what she'd been through.

The next day, the class was completely silent as Karma walked into the room. Tsu walked over to her. "Sorry about yesterday. A lot of us just don't like it when people aren't giving us the entire story.", she explained. Ari gave her an apologetic smile. "It's fine. It's my fault. I shouldn't've gone in the first place. Otherwise none of this would've happened.". Tsu gave her a sympathetic smile. "No, it's fine. We're sorry about that. Some of us just get a bit too wild sometimes.". She walked back to her desk.

She seems nice.

Mhm.

Wonder if I can trust her.

Who knows? Anyone can be a traitor. You just have to use your imagination.

True. Who's your least favorite person so far?

Mineta. I think we should stay away from him.

Same. I have a bad feeling about him.

Wow. You actually agreed with me.

Because you gave a reasonable answer.

By the way, I think that you should try to sleep more.

I know, but the nightmares always come. I can't handle seeing all of that again. I just can't. Besides, it just gives you an opportunity to take over.

You have to try to get over that, Karma. Also, I completely forgot about the fact that I can take over your body while you sleep, so thanks!

Dang it.

Seriously, though, you need to sleep. Even I need a break from talking to you, ok?

I do sleep.

I mean you have to start sleeping more. Like, way more. You get an average of 6 hours of sleep each week! That is not healthy at all. Seriously, Karma!

Be quiet, class is starting.

Karma tried to pay attention to what was going on in class, but she just kept on getting distracted, especially by Eddie. It was a good thing that she was the only person who could hear him. She'd never been more glad that she could communicate with it with her mind.

"Karma?",

"Yes, Ectoplasm Sensei?",

"What's the answer to the question?",

"It's 149/28.",

"Correct. By the way, can you at least pretend to pay attention in class?",

"Sure.".

The whole class looked extremely surprised that she was able to get the question right after only looking at it for a second.

Dummies.

It's not their fault they don't have an IQ of 275.

True. It's not necessary to stare at someone who does in such an astonished way, though, is it?

It isn't, but I'm probably the first person they've met who has such a high IQ.

"Can anyone answer the question?", asked Ectoplasm. Karma looked up and saw the frustrated expressions of her classmates. She then glanced at the board. Piece of cake. She raised her hand.

"Karma?",

"F has a minimum value of -49/8.",

"Correct.".

Everyone's jaws dropped. "How did you- how did you do that?", Kaminari spluttered. "What, you thought I didn't know how to do math?", she replied, rolling her eyes. "But- but you're only 13!", replied a shocked Mina. Karma looked suspicious. "How do you know how old I am?". Everyone looked at Izuku. "Don't look at me! You guys asked!", he said defensively. "That still doesn't answer the question.", Karma said. Izuku frowned. "Don't you remember? When we asked how old you were when you said that you weren't fifteen, you told us you were 13.", he said. She smacked her forehead. "Ohhhh. I sometimes have conversations without realizing it.".

Ectoplasm sighed. "Can we get back on track, class?". "Yes.". He continued class. Similar things happened in the rest of Karma's classes, although Present Mic didn't call on Karma since she was already fluent in English and she always corrected him, an English teacher, on his grammar.

Karma?

Yeah?

Mic made a grammar error.

Why is it that I have to correct him on grammar? He's an English teacher! He shouldn't have to be corrected on these kinds of things?

Who knows? Now point it out. It's really annoying.

Karma raised her hand. Present Mic sighed. "Yes, Karma?", "You put the comma in the wrong place.". The class gaped at her, wondering how she had the guts to criticize Yamada Sensei on the very subject he taught. "Oh, did I?", Present Mic murmured, looking at the board. "Oh, I did! Thanks for pointing that out, Karma!", he said, although he looked slightly annoyed about being corrected on the subject he was teaching. "But how can she correct you on the very subject you teach, Yamada Sensei?", demanded Tenya. Karma sighed. "English is my first language.", she said. Everyone looked surprised. "But aren't you Japanese?", asked a confused Rikido. "I'm half Japanese.". This led to the class looking even more confused, but this time Karma didn't clarify what she meant. "What does it mean?!", yelled Kaminari. "Figure it out yourself.", was the only answer Karma gave.

Present Mic quickly changed the subject after seeing Karma's face. "All right, class, now, who wants to point out why what I initially wrote down on the board was wrong?".

Karma stayed quiet for the rest of class, and when lunchtime came, she quickly found the most isolated seat there was in the lunchroom. Unfortunately, her classmates were still able to find her, as the seat she found wasn't very isolated.

"What did you mean by half Japanese?", Mineta yelled. "I told you to figure it out yourself.", Karma replied coldly. Maybe you should explain, Ira said nervously.

Do you want to trigger my PTSD?

No, but maybe it'd make these guys stop bothering us.

"Talk to me!", Kaminari yelled. Karma was jolted back into reality. "Come on, man!", Kirishima said, "Her family's probably a sore subject!". "I don't care about stupid sore subjects! I want her to tell me what she meant by 'half Japanese'!".

Karma kept her eyes on her food. "One of my parents was Japanese, alright? Can you just go away, now?", she said exasperatedly. "Which parent?", Mineta yelled. "It doesn't matter, man! She gave you the answer, so let's just go!", Kirishima said, trying to pull the two of them away from Karma. "Which parent?!", he yelled. Karma sighed, clenching her fists until her knuckles were white. "My mom, ok? Now, can you please just go away?", she said, in almost a pleading tone. "Come on, man, she told you which parent was Japanese, ok?! Let's go!", Kirishima said. They finally relented. He said, "Fine.", and walked away.

"Sorry about that, Karma. They just don't like it when people give vague answers. They're pretty upfront people.",

"I can tell.",

"By the way, sorry about yesterday. Our class can get pretty wild sometimes.",

"It's fine. I shouldn't've gone in the first place. I have terrible social skills.",

"Well, see you around. By the way, can I try out your VR headset? It looked really nice. Who made it?",

"Yes, you can try out my VR headset. To answer your second question, I made it. Well, see you around.",

"See ya!".

He walked away and Karma proceeded to finish her lunch and head back to the classroom.

She was the first one there. She got a spare sheet of paper, went to her desk, and started drawing. By the time Tenya, Uraraka, and Izuku entered the room, she'd gone through five sheets of paper and had drawn on both sides of them.

"Hi, Karma! What're you doing?", asked Uraraka. "I'm doodling.", Karma responded. "Can we see your drawings?", asked Izuku. "Sure.", she replied, handing them the sheets of paper which she'd already finished.

"Wow! These are amazing!",

"Thanks.",

"Seriously, these are great!",

"So you've said.",

"You should enter these in an art contest or something!",

"Even if I wanted to enter them in an art contest, I'd turn in better pieces of art. These are just doodles.",

"You can do better than this?",

"Yup.",

"Wow! That's so cool!",

"What's so cool?".

They looked up to see Bakugo, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero walking into the room. "Look at these drawings!", said Uraraka.

They walked over to them. Karma looked at her desk. Why do people always need to do this? The others looked at her drawings. "Wow, these are great!", Sero remarked. She nearly said she wanted to go home, but she caught herself. She didn't have a home. Not anymore, at least. Her home in America was a home. Her grandmother's mansion wasn't really much of a home. It was more like a prison. Shie Hassaikai's hideout was totally a prison, meant to keep her in for the rest of her life. Overhaul'd be furious to find out that I escaped. Her apartment used to be her home, until she had to give it back to the building. Her dorm room was more like an asylum than a home.

They continued to compliment her drawings, and she kept thanking them. People kept on coming to see her drawings, but no one seemed to notice that she wanted to be left alone. Why can't people just stay in their own business? I want a home. She realized how depressing that was the moment she thought it.

"I could draw better than this!", Bakugo scoffed. "Good for you.", Karma muttered. She'd continued drawing, and now people were requesting her to draw specific things for them. "Thanks, Karma!", Mina gushed. "You're welcome.", Karma said. More and more requests were coming in, so she started drawing two drawings at a time.

Good thing we're ambidextrous.

Be quiet and let me focus.

Everyone looked surprised. "How are you drawing two different things with two different hands?", asked Toru. "I'm ambidextrous.", Karma replied. "What does that mean?", asked Sero. "I can use both of my hands equally well.", she said. "Nice.", said Deku.

He then took out a notebook and started writing something down and started muttering to himself. "What's he doing?", Karma whispered to Uraraka. "He takes notes on everything about everyone to find out their weaknesses and strengths. It's really useful in battles.", "Smart.".

She kept on drawing till All Might came into the room. "Everyone, get in your seats.", he said. Thank god. I'm finally somewhat alone. "All right, everyone, we're going to learn about the main morals of a hero.

You have got to be kidding me.

Maybe it'll teach ya something.

Shut up.

"One of the main morals of being a hero is not killing anyone. You kill only if necessary.", he said, "Always remember that killing is and always will be a last resort.". I don't like the thought of that one bit. "Another moral is that you can go through a LOT of pain. The best hero always gets up, no matter what kind of pain they're in. If you fail, you have to get back up, no matter what stands in your way. Everyone fails, but getting back up is what really matters.". That's deep. "A tip I have for you is- one moment.", he said as he looked through his notes. He winced and cleared his throat. "A tip I have for you is having mental stability. You may be faced with losing someone you love or care about throughout your career as a hero. You also will face immense destruction and pain throughout your career. Some of these things have the capacity to break you, mentally and emotionally. You still have to persevere despite these losses, however. Persevering throughout times of difficulty is what makes a hero a hero.".

The class started clapping. All Might smiled and quickly threw a worried glance at Karma. She had buried her face in her arms, although no one had noticed. Not yet, at least.

Mental stability was not Karma's strong suit. In fact, it was one of her biggest weaknesses. You have got to be kidding me. I'm barely mentally stable. "What's up with you, Karma?", asked Tsu. "Yeah, you look really grumpy.", said Mina. "Not grumpy, more like disappointed or depressed.", remarked Kaminari. She silently groaned. Thanks a lot, Tsu. I guess I won't make any friends here. Doesn't matter, anyway. I didn't come here to make friends or belong. I came here to become a hero.

"Everyone, focus.", All Might said, "We don't want to go off track, now, do we?". "No.", the class replied. Wonder what she was grumpy about, thought Bakugo. I'll just interrogate her again. And why is her hair always covering her left eye? She's probably doing that on purpose. I'll figure out a way to move it out of the way so I can see why.

She didn't seem too happy when All Might said that a hero needs mental stability, Tsu noted in her head. Probably because of her PTSD. I doubt that that helps matters. But Principal Nezu let her into our class anyways, so he probably had a good reason. Wonder why her hair's covering her eye. I'll ask after class.

Chapter 7

Karma remained sullen for the rest of the day. After school was over, she stayed in her dorm for the rest of the day and ignored all attempts to socialize.

She punched the bag. She felt the punch of the angry kid whose sister she'd killed. She punched harder and faster every time. The punching bag was getting weaker by the second. She hit it over and over again. She heard the screams. She hit the bag harder and faster. She saw the buildings crashing down. She saw the people running away from her.

The bag exploded. The noise was heard by everyone in Heights Alliance. Dang it, Karma thought. My fingers are going to bleed so much today.

Meanwhile, Dabi was out looking for new recruits for the League of Villains, after finally getting away from Doctor Ujiko. He currently had someone in mind, and her name was Karma. She already had a murder record, so she seemed like a good enough candidate. She also seemed to be Overhaul's step niece, so recruiting her would definitely rub some salt into the wound. She had a very powerful Quirk which could allow her to fight any of the Pro Heroes. He'd also seen the damage she'd done firsthand, and he was confident that she'd join him.

Back at Heights Alliance, everyone was still trying to find out where the explosion had come from. Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap.

"WHO DID THAT?", yelled Bakugo. "THAT WASN'T VERY MANLY!", yelled Kirishima. After searching all the dorm rooms, they realized something: Karma's room had disappeared. "Open the door!", asked Mineta. "Come on!", said Kaminari. "I don't think that the 13-year-old's been completely honest with us!", Bakugo yelled.

Uh oh. This is bad. Maybe you should open the door and explain-

That's literally the worst idea you've ever come up with. Besides, I'm trying not to have a panic attack, y'know.

Are you sure? I mean, if you let me take over, you could do so many things to them that would make them regret what they'd done to you. And listen, anyone could tell that you really want to do all the things you're imagining in your head.

No I-

Yes, you do, Karma. Stop denying it. Stop denying me, or the power you'll have if you let me take over. Come on, just look at all those amazing things I'm showing you. Besides, it's not possible to escape your head. You of all people should know that.

The door clicked. There, I took away the barricade it. Are ya happy now? Ira didn't reply.

"WHY DID YOU CAUSE THE EXPLOSION?!", Bakugo screamed. Karma bit her lip. "Answer the question, Karma.", said Kirishima, "Why did you cause the explosion? Scaring everyone isn't very manly.". She sighed and continued sewing the punching bag. "I didn't do it on purpose.", she said, looking like she'd had this conversation a million times. She barely winced when she accidentally stabbed her finger while sewing it back together. "How'd you do it, then?", "I punched the punching bag too hard.". They all looked at her incredulously. Sero broke the silence. "You're joking, right?". "Nope.", she replied without looking up from her work. They all stared at her.

Midnight rushed into the room. "What happened?", asked Midnight. She saw the sand on the floor and what Karma was sewing and relaxed. "Ah, the punching bag just exploded. Well, that's a relief. Karma, please stop doing that. Your fingers always drive Recovery Girl insane. Well, carry on with whatever you were doing.". She then left, and the class was left even more dumbfounded.

Bakugo was the first to snap out of it. "Why'd she say that as if she already knows you?!", he barked. "Because she does already know me.". "Seriously?", asked Kaminari. "Yep.". Bakugo interjected. "Tell us how you know her, now!". Ari rolled her eyes. "She was an old family friend. Is that a good enough explanation, because I'm trying not to lose 2 quarts of blood today because I keep on stabbing my fingers because I'm both talking and sewing.". That response made everyone look at the ground.

"One more thing.", said Kaminari. Ari looked even more tired now. "What?". "Why are you covering your left eye with your hair?", she asked. At this, Karma immediately stiffened and went on the defensive. "Personal reasons.". The answer didn't satisfy the students. It only made them more suspicious. "You can tell us, Karma. We won't judge you.", said Tenya.

Karma stood up. "Will everybody please give me a little bit of space?!", she said, looking angry and desperate at the same time. Her fists clenched until her knuckles were white. Everyone looked surprised. This was the biggest show of emotion they'd seen come from Karma so far, not counting the panic attack. "No, we won't, not until you tell us why you're covering your left eye!", said Bakugo. Her expression hardened. Everyone then found themselves walking out the door. "Stop it!", Mineta protested, but she ignored him. "What are you doing?!", yelled Bakugo. "Karma, as class representative, I am telling you to stop whatever you're doing to us!", Tenya ordered. She ignored him as well. Once they were all out, she slammed the door.

Wow. I can not believe that just happened.

Shut up.

Chapter 8

After the incident, she walked over to her rocking chair, collapsed on it, and started sewing the punching bag again. Once she was done, she read a book for about 20 minutes and then went on to blast her music at full volume. She didn't really care about opening the door when people knocked, since she was still cooling down from what had just happened.

She played along to the song on her electric guitar. She started humming along as well. Before long, her sound-proofing defenses were down and everyone could hear her playing. She still had enough control to not start singing though, although anyone would fall in love with her singing from the moment they heard it.

"Wow,", remarked Mina, "She's good.". Uraraka, Kyoka, Tsu, and Momo nodded in agreement. "Nice jams.", said Kyoka. Momo sighed. "Too bad she doesn't seem too interested in becoming friends with us. I'm sure she's a dear, and I'd love to be friends with her, but she doesn't seem to want to.". Uraraka shook her head. "No, I'm sure she does, it's just that she isn't too much of a social butterfly. I also think that her PTSD isn't helping, either. It'll probably take some time for her to open up.". Mina shrugged. "If you say so.".

Meanwhile, Bakugo was furious about what had happened with Karma. "How did she manipulate our bodies as if we were puppets?!", he fumed. "I mean, seriously! That is NOT how you get people to trust you!". Kirishima sighed. "We should've just left her alone, Bakugo. We've already gotten a warning from Aizawa Sensei, and knowing him, this kind of stuff is probably the reason he gave that warning.", he explained. "He has a point, though, Kirishima. Would you do what she did to us?", said Kaminari. "We provoked her, man. I know it wasn't very manly of her to do that, but we should've left when she told us to.". Kaminari rolled his eyes. "She could've just answered the question.".

Kirishima slapped his forehead. "Why don't any of you understand human decency?! She isn't going to answer every single question you ask her! Besides, it might trigger her PTSD, and we all saw how bad the panic attack was!", he said exasperatedly. "I don't care about her stupid PTSD! I just want her to answer my question!"., Bakugo yelled. "Not cool, man! You saw what happened to her yesterday!", Sero said, looking aghast.

"So she used your bodies as if you guys were puppets?", Izuku asked. "Yes! Even when I told her to stop as the class representative, she didn't listen!", said Tenya, looking extremely aggravated. "Hmm… So you couldn't do anything to stop it, could you? Meaning that if she chooses to do that to you, you're pretty much toast, especially in a battle. Did it look like she was overexerting herself at all?". "I didn't get a good look at her face, but yes, it looked like it was quite tiring for her.", Tenya replied. Izuku looked up from his notes for a moment, then looked back down at them.

"So she probably doesn't use it very often, since she probably doesn't want to tire herself too much during a battle…", he muttered. He paused for a moment. "Her Quirk is Elemental Manipulation, right? I didn't get a chance to write it down yesterday.", he asked. "Yes, her Quirk is Elemental Manipulation.", Tenya said. Izuku quickly wrote it down.

"That probably means that she controls water, fire, earth, and air. It probably also counts the subcategories, like ice. Since humans are mostly made up of water, that's probably how she did what she did to you. It probably also gives her the ability to knock someone unconscious, or worse, kill them.".

As he said it, his eyes widened. "Now I know how she got in during the middle of the year and didn't need to go through the entrance exam or Quirk Apprehension Test.". Tenya looked serious. "That would make her the strongest kid in our class, and probably out of all the first years.". "She isn't only strong, either. She seems to be physically strong, since she made a punching bag explode just by punching it too hard. Besides, you saw her in class. She solved an equation in her head in a second. She also knows how to speak more than one language, which is a major accomplishment. From what I can tell, she's also extremely skilled in music, and her dorm room tells me that she also is very good at handling technology.", remarked Yaoyorozu. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

Izuku stood up. "I'm going to go apologize to her about what happened. Anyone wanna come?". Tenya, Uraraka, Tsuyu, Kirishima, and Yaoyorozu walked with Izuku to Karma's dorm room.

Meanwhile, Hawks was thinking about what he would have to do to Best Jeanist. He wasn't too happy about it, but doing these kinds of things was part of the job. Besides, Dabi already was suspicious of him, and now he was forcing him to kill Best Jeanist. Man, I hate that guy.

He'd also let out the Nomu in the city, where many civilians could've been killed. Hawks had done his best to help Endeavor in the fight, and there were many potential casualties. It was a good thing that he'd been there to save everyone. He still was worried that he wouldn't be able to save everyone when the time came.

Karma was tinkering with her side projects when she heard a knock on the door. She'd cooled down by then, so she opened the door. She saw Tsu, Momo, Izuku, Tenya, Uraraka, and Kirishima standing there.

They all stood there for a few moments in silence. "We're all sincerely sorry if you haven't been feeling too good at U.A for the past two days.", Momo said. Karma looked down at the ground. "Thanks, but you don't have to be sorry. It's my fault that I'm terrible with social situations.". They all looked sympathetic. "Aw, don't blame yourself, Karma.", said Uraraka, "We all should've respected your wishes instead of trying to make you socialize and telling us about yourself. Please don't blame yourself.". She looked up at them and saw that hurting her hurt them more than it hurt her.

Karma sighed. "Fine, I accept your apology.". They all relaxed and stood in silence for a few moments. Kirishima broke the silence. "So, can I try out your VR headset?". Karma smiled. "Sure.".

Chapter 9

The next few days of school were much better than the first two. Then the remedial classes for those who failed the Provisional Licensing Exam came around. She, Bakugo, and Todoroki silently walked together to meet up with Aizawa and All Might.

Todoroki was expressionless as usual. Bakugo was looking angry and like he wanted to strangle Karma, probably because of what happened on Tuesday. She didn't blame him. She'd be mad if she were him. Despite the fact that none of the people who cared about her wanted her to blame herself for what had happened on Monday and Tuesday, she still did. Hurting others was something she hated, but would do if necessary. Besides, it's normal to blame yourself for hurting someone even if they provoke you. I think.

Bakugo broke the silence. "Why'd you use our bodies like puppets, creep?!", he yelled. Karma ignored him. Maybe you should tell him, Ira said nervously. Since when are you nervous?. "Answer me!". She didn't. "Is it because you're an undercover agent or something? You must be. Only villains are that secretive.".

He was trying to provoke her. It was so obvious. It didn't change the fact that she wanted to- no. She didn't want to do any of the violent things she was imagining in her head. She hated when people thought things like that about her, but they didn't have any reason not to.

"Bakugo, she's not a villain. She just doesn't like to talk about what goes on inside her head. There's nothing wrong with that.", said Todoroki. She felt a rush of gratitude towards him. "What do you know, Icy Hot?! Nothing! That's what!", he yelled. Karma sighed. "You don't know me, Bakugo, so stop acting like you do.".

The two of them were surprised at such a cold comment from a 13 year old. Cold much? Bakugo grumbled inside his head.

Weirdo. Why couldn't she just give them the answers to their questions? Honestly! She was just so frustrating! Besides, it was true! He knew that it was cruel to call someone a villain, but she hadn't given him any reason not to believe that, so why not?!

"Karma, what's your code name?", asked Todoroki. "Death.". They stared at her. "THEY LET THAT BE YOUR CODE NAME?! THAT'S EVEN WORSE THAN KING EXPLOSION MURDER AND LORD EXPLOSION MURDER AND EXPLOSION MURDER!", yelled Bakugo. Karma rolled her eyes. "I know. I was just more persistent in having that be my code name than you were with your code names.". Bakugo looked like he was in an even worse mood now.

They finally got to Present Mic and All Might. "Let's go" was all they said to them. It was a silent ride to the training facility. Karma was grateful that she had her wireless earbuds in her ears.

She had mixed feelings about silence. On one hand, it wasn't chaotic at all, and she liked that. On the other hand, when it got quiet, Ira started talking. And boy, did she start talking. It drove Karma insane. It was so tempting to let her take control, but she couldn't. Then she'd just prove Bakugo's point. Ira always tried to make her do something oh, so violent. She both hated and enjoyed imagining those scenes. They both made her recoil and smile. She turned up the volume of the music.

Music was a coping mechanism for Karma. It drove out the bad thoughts. It helped her cope when it got dark inside her head. She couldn't imagine how she'd handle it if she didn't have music. She'd probably just give in to Ira, and she couldn't do that. She'd hurt too many people. She knew for a fact that she couldn't handle that much more psychological trauma.

"We're here.", All Might said. They got out of the car. She kept her eyes on the ground. She could tell that Bakugo wanted to violently interrogate her, but he was holding back because All Might and Aizawa were there. She lowered the volume of her music. She was feeling much more calm now, and everyone else could tell.

She looks better. Wonder what happened, thought All Might. Bakugo probably brought up a sensitive topic. I'll have to tell him to not do that. He and Mic went to a spot in the bleachers where they wouldn't draw too much attention.

"How'd Aizawa find her?", All Might asked after a few minutes of silence. "Well, he was taking Eri out to get some fresh air, when she ran off. He went after her, and found her with Karma. They're apparently cousins.", Aizawa replied. All Might wasn't surprised. "Of course the two kids that he's the guardian of are related.". Mic bristled.

"He isn't Karma's guardian. The Hero Public Safety Commission deemed her worthy to take care of herself and her family, judging by her experiences.", "You don't seem too happy about the arrangement.". Present Mic sighed. "She shouldn't have that much stress put on her. Taking care of a family is a lot of work. Besides, you know how big her family is. She's probably worried that she missed someone, and they're out there plotting their revenge.". All Might winced. "Yeah, that does sound like something her family would do if she didn't get all of them, from what I've heard.".

"Everyone, we have someone new joining us today. Meet Karma.", said Mera. Karma could tell that everyone was judging her in their heads. They also probably thought her costume was weird.

The base for Karma's hero costume was composed of a tight, dark blue, full sleeve shirt with a gold flame symbol in the middle and black jeans with many small rips on them. She also had a utility belt that stores disinfectants, pain medication, grenades, eye drops, and eye contacts, etc. She had knee-high combat boots with spikes on the bottom that are dark green. She wore a blood-red face mask and her dark green and dark blue fingerless gloves. Karma also had a capturing weapon and headphones to help reduce the damage that can happen to her ears because of going at high speeds while flying, to listen to music, and communicate with others. Her winter costume doesn't have any changes.

"Told you she's worse than Icy Hot.", Bakugo muttered to Inasa. He shook his head. "No, she's different.". He looked at Inasa incredulously. "What do you mean, she's different!?", he said. "There's something in her eyes, but I can't say exactly what it is.", Inasa replied. Bakugo scowled. Why does everyone tolerate her?! I don't see anything different about her!

Gang Orca entered the room as Mera left. "Honestly, I was VERY surprised while looking at some of your performances when it comes to fighting, and I am NOT happy! You all have to work on not relying on your Quirks in battle! Today, you will be going one on one against each other without using your Quirks!", he yelled. Everyone groaned. Well, everyone except for Karma.

Perfect. I'm going to get to use some weapons against someone. I can't wait to see how good I am!

You were taught by our ex-family, which is a giant network of spies and villains and yakuza. You probably are the best with weapons here, period. Besides, aren't you carrying grenades, katanas, and knives right now?

Yup.

Good girl.

She was jolted back to reality when Gang Orca said she'd be up against Bakugo. Aw. I just have to be with the guy who hates my guts. Bakugo was glaring daggers at her. Yikes. She watched the battles alone. Wow, I didn't expect so many people to be so inexperienced with these kinds of weapons. Well, it's not everyday that you find someone who's brought up by abusive criminal masterminds.

"Bakugo, Karma, you're up next!", Gang Orca called out. Bakugo went up to her. "I'm going to kill you so badly-", he said, but Inasa interrupted him. "Sorry about him! I'm Inasa! Nice to meet you!". Karma looked up at him. "Nice to meet you, too. By the way, you don't have to apologize for Bakugo.". He had a giant grin on his face, although he looked a bit apologetic. Weird.

She and Bakugo were brought into a room filled with weapons. There were all sorts of them, ranging from BB guns to grenades to knives to katanas. She went up to Gang Orca. He looked down at her. "What is it?", "I already have weapons of my own. Can I just use them?". He looked surprised. Well, as surprised as one can look when they have a mutant Quirk that makes them look like an orca. He shrugged. "I don't see why not.". Karma spotted Bakugo glaring at her again. What's this guy's problem?

The two of them walked into the arena. "At the count of three. One, two, thr-", counted Meru, but Bakugo attacked before he could finish. Thankfully, Karma was ready for the attack.

Bakugo threw a grenade at her, but she quickly dodged. She ran at him and kicked him in the face. He let out a roar of rage and tried to return the favor, but was too slow. He quickly backed away and brought out a grenade. Karma pulled out two black handles out of her utility belt. He laughed. "What are you going to do with-", he said, but stopped when the handles turned into double bladed scimitars.

Karma was only using the scimitars as a distraction, though. Well, mostly a distraction. She was incredibly skilled with double bladed scimitars, but at the same time, she let out the tiny blades hidden in her gloves. She hid them in her gloves in case she wasn't in a situation in which she should use fire. After all, she didn't want anything to be useless.

Karma ran at Bakugo again, simultaneously having Eddie throw a couple grenades at him and throwing the scimitars at him. His eyes widened at the sight of the grenades flying at him, despite the fact that both of their Quirks had been cancelled, and he quickly dodged them. Karma got to him and he kicked her knee, which didn't faze her a bit. Then, he saw the blades coming out of her gloves.

He backed up as fast as he could. How many tricks up her sleeve does this kid have? He thought as hard as he could on how he could take her out, but for once, he couldn't come up with anything. The 13-year-old could very easily incapacitate him, and he couldn't come up with anything to stop her. I am NOT going to be beaten by this, this, 13-year-old CHILD! I'm better than that!

He then realized that he was bleeding in all the places that she'd kicked him. He looked at her combat boots and realized they had spikes on the bottom. Wow. Someone came prepared. He got out his most powerful grenade and threw it at her. This time, she wasn't able to dodge.

Yes! I finally beat her! His happiness quickly faded away when he saw that she was still standing. He growled. "DIE!", he yelled. The kid's face hardened, and he thought he saw her left eye glow red for a second. He got a bad feeling about what was going to happen, but he shook it off. He took out the sword he'd picked at the weapons room, when he saw Aizawa Sensei and All Might's faces. He could tell that they'd seen her eye glow, too. Whatever.

He got up and ran at her, screaming incoherently. He briefly wondered why she was just standing there.. He saw her slip two daggers out of her sleeves. Then, she struck.

Bakugo felt the blades cut his arms. He nearly cried out in pain. He attempted to slash the little girl, but she easily dodged. He tried again, but this time he hit the mark. Yes! It knocked her to the ground. He stood over her. He was about to hit her with his sword's handle, but she kicked him in the stomach. Hard. I'm talking REALLY hard. Hard enough to make Bakugo yell out in pain. Bakugo, the winner of the U.A Sports Festival, yelled out in pain because of a kick to the stomach by a 13-year-old. That did not help him get over the fact that he didn't pass the Provisional Licensing Exam.

He stumbled back. Karma rebounded and punched him in the jaw, this time without having her little "claws" (as she liked to call them) out. She rapidly punched and kicked him without giving him a chance to retaliate. He tried, though. He kept on trying to find a weak spot, but he couldn't find one. After only 20 punches, Karma had knocked him out.

All the students were in awe of what had just happened. "Wow. that girl just defeated Bakugo. She is totes strong.", said a surprised Camie. Seiji sniffed. "It serves that repulsive, hotheaded boy right to be beaten by a 13-year-old.". Inasa still had his usual grin on. "You did great, Karma!", he said happily. "Thanks.". "So did you, Bakugo!", he said. Bakugo growled in response, looking as if he wanted to violently strangle Karma. He'd just woken up from the fight.

Present Mic walked over. "Can I talk to you for a bit in private, Karma?", he asked. "Sure.", she said, feeling relieved. They walked away from everyone. He took a deep breath. "Your eye flashed red for a second in the battle.", he said. She stiffened and looked down at the ground. "I find that very concerning, and I believe Aizawa would find it that as well.". Karma sighed.

"Don't worry, I can control her. It's all fine.", she said, trying to reassure him. "I'm not worried about whether you can control Ira, Karma. I want to know why Bakugo screaming 'die' nearly triggered your PTSD.", he said gently. She looked away. "I'll tell you later.". His brows furrowed. "But-", "I'll tell you later.'. Karma walked away, with Mic worriedly looking at her.

"Did she tell you?", All Might asked as Present Mic rejoined him. Mic sighed. "She's still as stubborn as ever.", he said grumpily. He shrugged. "Oh.". They watched the remaining battles.

Karma was keeping her distance from everyone. She didn't want anyone asking too many questions. Thankfully, everyone got the hint.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it?

No.

Oh, shut up. You loved it.

Bakugo ruined it by telling me to die.

No, offense, Karma, but that shouldn't bother you at this point. Tons of people have told you to die.

If it wasn't one of my peers, I might've been able to handle it, but it wasn't.

Come on, Karma. When are you going to get over it?

I've gotten over it mentally, okay? That counts!

You haven't gotten over it emotionally, though.

I'm working on it.

No you're not. You can't even go back to our old house without breaking down.

See? You can't even deny it! Just ignore it when people say things like that. Besides, weren't you playing your music?

Yes. He just yelled it in a way that resembled Muscular telling me to die.

You do have a point.

Stop acting as if I'm a kid.

You are, though.

I can handle you being honest.

Stop acting like you're an adult, Karma. You're only thirteen.

Not many people go through what I go through by the time they're thirteen.

You're only a girl, ok?! Neither of us even know who we are, or what we're supposed to! We haven't even had a taste of who we are yet! We're nowhere near becoming adults!

Adulthood is just a lie we tell ourselves. This uncertainty is never going to go away. It'll always be with us, no matter what.

Someone's stubborn.

"You all did such a good job today, I mean, DON'T YOU DARE FAIL!", Gang Orca said. "Sir, yes sir!". They got out of their Hero Costumes and walked back to their teachers. They then walked to their vehicle and went back to U.A. Bakugo was eyeing her suspiciously.

When they got back, the first thing Karma did was head to her dorm room and play guitar. It always managed to calm her down. Everyone couldn't be there for her all the time, but her music was always there. She couldn't think of a time when she didn't have music. She knew that if she didn't choose to go to U.A, she'd probably be a musician, artist, gamer, inventor, or engineer. They all managed to calm her down and were always there. She could rely on them. She hated to think or say it, but she could rely on them more than she could rely on people. Aizawa was an exception. He was. Not in the way that most people would expect, but he was still there. Always.

Chapter 10

Kazuho Haneyama was tired. She had been working all day, and her breaks were only, like, 5 minutes. She needed the money, though. She was nowhere near as popular as she was back when she was still a vigilante. She was still friends with Jube and Ichimoku, but they'd drifted apart over the years. Being under Kuin Hachisuka's control had been a bit traumatizing, since she had to fight Koichi, her friend and fellow Vigilante. After Koichi left the Naruhata Vigilantes, Pop Step was the only one left. She'd tried to get Jube and Ichimoku to join, but they didn't want to be too involved in it. And so, she'd been left alone.

She'd quit being an idol a few years after Koichi had left. They hadn't spoken in years, and Kazuho hadn't ever gotten the chance to give him back his Silver Edition All Might hoodie. It was a regret she'd carry to her grave. So was the fact that she never apologized for all the times she'd insulted him. Now, she was working a minimum wage job, and was struggling to pay the rent of her tiny apartment. She was still a vigilante, though, since Naruhata still needed to be protected from villains that only vigilantes could take down.

Kazuho missed having everyone around. She wished that she were still in touch with Knuckleduster and Koichi. Saving her hometown wasn't the same without them. She'd never been the sentimental type, but she really missed them. Knuckleduster had disappeared after about a year, and then it was just her and Koichi. Kazuho would look at her phone and think about calling them, but she'd quickly get rid of the idea. After all, why would she contact them after not talking or seeing them for years? They wouldn't want to talk to her, anyways.

She'd also toned down her costume. Now it was just a black tactical vest over a black, full sleeve T-shirt, black leggings, and a black mask. It was useful for creeping around in the night. Besides, she wasn't too interested in being recognized anymore. She'd occasionally think about becoming an idol again, but she always shut down the idea. I'll just call her.

A few days ago when she was patrolling the streets, she saw a familiar face, although the familiar face technically saw her first.

"Kazuho? Is that you?", a voice asked. She looked up and saw Karma. Her eyes widened. "Karma? That's you, right? This isn't a dream, right?", asked an astounded Pop Step. She rushed towards her and gave her a big hug. She quickly released her.

"You're okay, right? Did your scummy family do anything bad to you? If they did, I'll beat them all up so hard-",

"Calm down, ok! I'm fine! And no, this isn't a dream. How is everyone?",

"Me, Jube, and Ichimoku are the only ones left.",

"What about Koichi and Makoto?",

"I don't know where they are right now. How're you?",

"I'm fine.",

"Good. Do ya wanna come over to my place?",

"No thanks. I just came to say hi. Do ya wanna exchange phone numbers so we can stay in touch?",

"Sure! Mine is .",

"Ok. Mine is . Contact me whenever ya like!",

"Thanks. I'll see you around!",

"See ya!".

Nah. I won't disturb her. I'll call her tomorrow. And with that, she made dinner, ate, and went to bed.

Chapter 11

Karma was working on a robot when Aizawa knocked on the door. How did she know that it was Aizawa? She could identify who was making what noise just by hearing the sound. It wasn't part of either of her Quirks, it was just a skill she'd picked up while growing up. Things like that are just things that Karma adapted to while growing up to help her survive.

"Come in.", she said. He walked in and didn't question the fact that she knew it was him. "Are you going to tell me why Bakugo screaming 'die' nearly triggered your PTSD?", asked Aizawa. Karma sighed. "Mic told you?". He nodded. She then walked over to her rocking chair, which she'd made her safe spot. Aizawa knew that he'd have to be careful with what he said when she folded her arms so tightly that it seemed like they'd never unravel.

"It just reminded me a lot of Muscular screaming during our fight. If I'm being honest, though, I deserved it, since I killed his brother without a second thought and-", she said. She bit her lip to stop the tears. "I'm going to stop you right there, ok?", Aizawa said. "You're never going to get over anything if you don't stop blaming yourself for everything bad that happens.".

She scowled. "I blame myself for things that are my fault, and everything that happened was my fault. And don't justify it by saying I was just eleven years old. What kind of eleven year old would relinquish control of their body?". Aizawa sighed. "They'd just taken Eri away from you and you couldn't do anything about it. You were feeling helpless, and when the chance to possibly save Eri came, you took it. Anyone would make that decision, Karma. You're the only one with the power to make that decision, though. That's the difference.", he said as patiently as he could.

This went on for the next 10 minutes. Aizawa looked at the digital clock that Karma had perched on her desk. "Well, I have to go now, ok? Stay out of trouble the best you can.", he said, giving her a worried look. She rolled her eyes. "Since when do I not get in trouble?", she asked. Aizawa gave her a small smile as he left her room.

After half an hour, she'd finally finished the robot. It was a killer robot, and she was pretty sure it could destroy a very long range of items. "Now, what should I name you?", she murmured with a hint of adoration to her little killer robot. Then a bright idea came to mind. "I know! I'll ask the class! It'll help my social skills, too!", she exclaimed. I don't think that's a good idea. "Oh, shut up, Ira. It's totally a great idea! We can destroy something together, too! That'd be awesome!", she said excitedly. Someone's excited. "Obviously! I'm finally getting to show my work to other people!".

That, kids, was her bubbly and excited mode. She was always smiling during it, and we'd all just turn a blind eye to whatever destruction she caused when she was like that, since honestly, she was too cute. Plus, everyone loved seeing Karma happy. She started acting like that whenever she had just finished one of her killer robots, was having a lucky streak while playing video games, made some killer drawing or animation, wrote a killer song, made some killer music, anything. You have no idea how many things she was good at. She looked just like your little sister when she was her age.

She rushed down to the common room. "Hi, Karma! What's that?", asked Uraraka. Karma grinned. "It's my killer robot! Does anyone want to name it?". Soon, everyone was buzzing with excitement over what to name it. The girls dragged some other people to the common room to help decide. "How about Cold Soba?", asked Shoto. "THAT'S A TERRIBLE NAME! NAME IT WASABI!", Bakugo yelled. "How about Crimson Riot? That's a great name!", said Kirishima. "Twinkles?", Aoyama suggested. "Name it after All Might!", Izuku yelled. "YEAH!", was the reply of most of the class. It was pandemonium, and Karma loved every second. They all finally decided to name it after All Might, to Izuku's delight.

"So, what are we going to destroy first?", asked Kaminari, rubbing his hands together. Kyoka picked something up. "How about this stool?", she asked. "The stool it is!", Karma proclaimed. "What'd the stool do to you?", asked Rikido. Karma shrugged. "Nothing. It just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.", she said cheerfully. "What should we enthusiastically scream as it's annihilated by the masterpiece we now know as All Might?", asked Tokoyami. Bakugo had a maniacal grin on his face. "Die, stool, die.", he said, putting on a face that would scare even the mighty Stain. "Goodbye, stool. You may be missed.", said Izuku, saluting.

When the time came, they screamed "DIE, STOOL, DIE!", so loud that even the students from other dorms could hear. It definitely startled the teachers. "What's next?", asked Mina, who was practically buzzing out of excitement. The teachers came to find 20 fifteen year olds and a thirteen year old enthusiastically destroying things with a killer robot. They tried to stop it, but the students were too out of control.

Present Mic did not help. In fact, he made it worse by filming it and commentating on what was happening. At some point, Nezu had to come and try to make it stop. When he was about to open the door, All Might (the robot, not the teacher) burst through the door and Nezu ran away, screaming in terror. None of the teachers got too mad, though, since they were happy that Karma was finally opening up to the other students.

All Might grinned. "They named a robot after me!", he said happily. He then sighed. "I wish I could join them.". Midnight looked at him incredulously. "As much as I love youth, even I wouldn't join in on that.", she said. "At least Karma's finally having fun with people around her age.", Aizawa said quietly. That made the others go quiet.

One by one, the teachers left the kids to do whatever they wanted. Well, all the teachers except for Present Mic. He still had to play the commentator. Once Hound Dog told them that they had to go back to their rooms, the students excitedly talked about the day.

"That was so much fun!", Mina gushed. "Well, maybe we shouldn't have All Might go through the door next time.", Uraraka said while giggling. Tenya pushed up his glasses. "While All Might is a masterpiece, we should not cause as much destruction as we did today with it ever again.". Karma was aghast.

"Don't call All Might an 'it'. I'm going to program him so that he has a personality!", she said indignantly. "You can do that?", asked a surprised Kaminari. Karma nodded. Kirishima grinned. "Nice!". Izuku looked at her peculiarly. "You're that good at programming?", he asked. She nodded again. He took out his notebook. "So you can hack into things too, right?", "Mhm.". Everyone listened closely to Izuku and Karma's mostly one-sided conversation.

Wow, she knows a lot about this stuff. I wonder how she learned all these things. Kaminari had always wished that he was as smart as all his classmates, but he always got distracted so easily. He may have passed the final written exam, but he got the lowest score in the class, and he failed the practical exam. Now, here was a 13 year old who was probably the smartest kid in the class. Besides, she made a punching bag explode just by punching it too hard. That kind of thing was expected from people like Bakugo or Todoroki, not the youngest person in the school! And she didn't even need to take the entrance exam! This kid's going to be the Number 1 hero someday.

Chapter 12

Dabi was very frustrated. He'd just seen a video taking place at U.A High School, and the girl he was following just so happened to be in it.

"What's that, Dabi?", Toga asked. He scowled. "Nothing, crazy girl.". She still took his phone, and actually started laughing at the video. "What's so funny?", asked Spinner. Toga giggled. "Class 1-A is destroying a bunch of things with a killer robot! It's SUPER funny!". "Oh.", he said, rolling his eyes. Toga squinted at the screen. "Who's that girl? I don't recognize her.". Shigaraki looked at the screen and his eyes widened.

"What is it?", she asked. "I think that's Master's granddaughter Karma.", he replied. Everyone looked at him. "All For One had a granddaughter?", asked a surprised Mr. Compress. He nodded. "Then why would she be going to U.A? After all, she's the granddaughter of the greatest villain OF ALL TIME!", said a confused Twice. Shigaraki scowled. "She was disowned 6 years ago. She killed her grandmother, who was the family matriarch, and was sent to live with her step grandfather and was presumably tortured. When she was five, she killed her parents, which just made everyone hate her more.". He then sighed. "Her family just loved psychological abuse.".

Dabi did not like the sound of her family. They sounded very abusive, and from what Shigaraki was saying, it sounded like they had a lot in common with how Endeavor treated him, his mom, and his brother. How hasn't she had a mental breakdown yet, though? Mom broke down after... after how long? Wow, I can't even remember how long ago it was. The memories of Endeavor training him were extremely vivid, despite it being years ago, yet he could barely remember the fun times he'd had with his siblings.

He then realized that Shigaraki was still talking. "You know all that destruction that happened two years ago in Tokyo? That was her.". There were oohs and ahs at that. He then tilted his head. "Well, it wasn't exactly her. You see, she was born with two Quirks, and-", "Two Quirks?! That's amazing! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!", Twice interrupted. Shigaraki sighed.

"Yes, Twice, she was born with two Quirks. The second Quirk was this little sadistic voice could take over her body. Her name's Ira. So, the thing is that Ira has power greater than all of All For One's Quirks combined, and is activated when Karma's angry. She also subconsciously makes her defend herself, like when there's an ambush.". He paused. "Ira manifesting was the reason Karma killed her parents. All For One tried to take it, but he couldn't.". Everyone was quiet after that statement.

That's rough, thought Dabi. Toga broke the silence. "So did you want to recruit her, Dabi?". Shigaraki shook his head. "Don't bother with her. She's a disgrace. Master said so himself.", he said. Dabi gritted his teeth and hoped no one would notice. He'd heard his father say that a lot about him, Fuyumi, and Natsuo. They usually ignored it, since they weren't interested in becoming heroes, but what they really hated him for was what they did to him, Shoto, and their mom. He was the reason she'd had a mental breakdown and gave Shoto the scar on his eye. And the reason why he had all the burns on his body.

Dabi then noticed that Spinner and Toga didn't look too happy with what Shigaraki said. "What's the problem?", Compress asked. Spinner scowled. "'He's a disgrace to the family' was something I heard a lot when I was brought up in a conversation with my parents in it.", he said sullenly. "What about you, Toga?", he asked. "I'd rather not talk about it.". "Dabi?". He slightly flinched at the sound of his name. "Same thing as the crazy girl.". He hated talking about his past. He even hated thinking about it, but since All For One's defeat, there wasn't much else to think about.

Dabi still felt a little guilty at what he'd done after seeing his baby brother Shoto for the first time in what seemed like forever. Part of him took sadistic pleasure in what he'd done, but the other part hated himself for it. He also had no idea of what he'd do if he saw his mother, Fuyumi, or Natsuo. Who would? Besides, revealing his secret identity would crush his family. He'd been spying on his mom, and from what he could tell, she was much better than how'd she'd been 10 years ago. Dabi wouldn't make her go back on all the progress she'd been making all these years to getting better. He couldn't.

Chapter 13

Ren opened the door to see Karma and Eri standing in the doorway. "Karma, Eri!", she exclaimed as she hugged them both. "How's U.A?", she asked. Karma smiled. "It's fine, Ren. Is everyone doing good in school?", she asked. Ren nodded. She then looked down at Eri. "How are you, Eri?", she said, kneeling down and talking to her in the voice she used especially for her. She gave her a big smile. "I'm doing good!", she said. They walked into the house.

"Where are the others?", Karma asked. "Avani and Zephyr are playing together, Raiden's reading, and Adara and Cain are playing video games.". Karma then spotted Sakura. "Hey, Sakura! Are the kids causing you any trouble?", she called out. She chuckled. "Nope, they're fine!", she replied. Ren grinned. Having the most of the family in Tartarus really helped everyone's mental health. Having Karma as the family matriarch also helped. All Ren was worried about was if someone tried to rebel against Karma.

If she was being honest, she didn't mind having her parents in whatever prison they'd been put in. She'd never had any interest in becoming a villain, and for all her life, she was thought to not have the brains to become one. She wasn't able to read, and despite everyone trying to teach her, she'd always be unable to tell the letters apart. Unbeknownst to everyone, Ren actually was dyslexic. She only found out after Karma took over the family. She hated to admit it, but she held quite a bit of resentment towards her parents for trying to force her and her brother to be the ideal villains and to take over the family.

Practically all of her family was power hungry. They didn't care how they got it, they just wanted it. Her little brother Raiden was the ideal weapon in her parents eyes. They were constantly forcing him to endure hours upon hours of training to rule the family and plunge the world into chaos. Ren, ultimately, decided to be her little brother's lifeline during those times, and endured whatever punishment her parents would give her. As long as her brother was fine, she was fine. Still though, he bore a strong resemblance to their father, and sometimes when she saw him, she hated what she saw. She sometimes thought, I can't take care of him anymore. I shouldn't.

Ren and Karma went over to the gaming room after showing Eri to Zephyr and Avani's room to find Adara yelling at Cain about unplugging the game console just before she was about to win. Karma sighed. "Cain, you really need to stop doing that every time someone's about to win.". They looked at Karma and immediately ran to hug her. "You didn't tell us Karma was coming, Rennie!", they yelled. Ren blushed and Karma chuckled. "You didn't tell me you'd been given a new nickname, Rennie.", she teased. She buried her face in her hands.

"Sneak attack!", Raiden yelled as he tackled Ren. "What the heck, Raiden?!", she protested. "Besides, you can't call it a sneak attack if you yell sneak attack while doing the attack!". He rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Ren-Ren.". Karma raised her eyebrow. "Now, where did that attitude come from, Raiden?", she asked, suppressing her laughter. He crossed his arms. "Stop laughing!", Adara protested. "Besides, why are you here?", Cain asked suspiciously. "You always tell us when you're going to visit.".

Karma sighed and winced at the same time, telling Ren that it wasn't good news. "Well, you see, the time we have family reunions is coming up.". The tone in the room went from happy and lighthearted to dark and awkward. Family reunions were the worst, especially for the kids.

There were games that tested the skills of everyone, and the mean teenagers always picked on the oddballs of the family. The 'special' children were treated as if they were just pieces of jewelry, paraded around for everyone to see and then discarded. It wasn't uncommon for people to get beatings from others if they did something out of line. The idea wasn't too strange to Ren. None of her friends would understand, though. They were normal, something Ren had longed all her life.

"You aren't thinking of holding the reunion, are you?", Adara asked, massaging her neck. Karma then made the mischievous grin she always made when she was plotting something that would enrage the adults of the family. Cain looked like he was catching on, as well. "We're going to recreate the reunions, aren't we?", he asked. Uh oh. There was a faint black glow in his eyes, and there was a faint black aura around his eyes. It happened when he was getting excited to make trouble. "Nuh uh, Cain.", Karma scolded as she cuffed his head. He looked down. "Sorry.".

She explained what they were going to do for the reunion, and soon enough, all of them had the same look on their faces. "Have I ever told you how genius you are?", Ren asked admiringly. Karma waved it off. "You hear it once, you hear it a subtillion times.". Adara tilted her head. "What does subtillion mean?", "A number with 24 zeros.". She then stood up. "I have to go back to U.A now, or I'll be late.". She looked down at them and affectionately ruffled their hair. "I'll try to visit next week, okay? Bye!".

Ren, Raiden, Cain, Adara, Zephyr, and Avani longingly watched as Karma and Eri were driven back to U.A. They then closed the door and went back to what they were doing.

Ren went back to painting. There wasn't much else to do, plus it was one the few things she was good at. It helped her clear her mind, since it was like a nest full of meth addicted squirrels. Yes, it was that bad. It really was that bad, Ari, it was that bad.

One thing she'd known all her life was that she was going to be an artist. She loved painting, and drawing, and everything about it. She got it from her great grandfather. She liked to go to art museums, and she'd be content to be staring at a painting for hours, trying to discover the meaning behind it. Art was the only thing that she was completely sure about. She couldn't be certain about anything else. That scared her.

Ren never knew if she was a freak who couldn't figure anything out, or if everyone else wasn't completely sure about anything, but they were pretending that they knew. She hated the fact that she didn't know the answers to the questions that really meant something to her, like if she and Raiden would stick together no matter what. Or if she was good enough to go to a top art school. Or if she could take care of the people she cared about. So many questions left unanswered in her head, yet she didn't ask them. Why? She didn't want to worry anyone.

Worrying the people she loved was something she absolutely hated. She wouldn't be surprised if that was normal. After all, why would anyone want the people they care about to constantly be fretting about how they're feeling, or about their health, or their grades, or their lives? Karma was already stressed enough, making sure that everyone in the family was alright and everyone was comfortable and getting along and rebelling against everything they'd been taught because it was wrong and becoming a hero and so many other things!

Karma was the one who saved all of them from all the years of misery and beatings and judgement and torture and forced villainy. Ren knew that the last thing Karma wanted was for them to feel like they owed her something, but they did, and nothing could change that.

Chapter 14

Karma was doing much better at U.A than she expected. After the killer robot incident, she'd become extremely popular with her classmates. Even Bakugo had stopped bothering her. Well, he'd mostly stopped bothering her. He still tried to figure out why she covered her eye with her hair, but he'd become less persistent over time, since he could tell that it wasn't the right time to find out.

The nightmares weren't coming as often, either, so she could actually try to sleep now. She didn't try, though, since she was always busy doing something, and sleeping gave Ira a chance to take over. Besides, it was impossible for her to just leave her work, and when she started, she didn't stop. She'd finished giving All Might (the robot) a personality that was uncannily similar to All Might himself. It didn't surprise her, though. She'd always been able to see emotions more clearly than others. This way she could brace herself for when she was going to get in trouble. She'd just finished designing gauntlets that could let her shoot her black and white fire without damaging her body too much. Those types of fires would anyways just burn up her gloves.

After a few hours, she checked the time and saw that she needed to start getting ready for school. After she was done, she got her things and headed outside. It was the beginning of December, and the weather was much colder than before, even though it usually wasn't this cold. Karma didn't mind the cold. She just lit a small fire from her hand to keep herself warm. Most people would advise her not to, since it was dangerous and could burn up her things, but she'd just ignore them. She'd soaked all her things in a mixture of alum and water to make them fireproof.

She was all alone on the walk to the main campus. She didn't mind. She always woke up before everyone else so she could be on time. It was a habit she'd gotten while growing up. Her family hated it when people weren't on time, and Karma was no exception. She had a very hard time being punctual due to her ADHD, and it resulted in many, many punishments. Her solution: Be early. If you're early, people won't be made at you for being late. Sometimes people found it annoying, but she didn't stop. The punishments she got at only five years old was trauma that even Karma couldn't get over. You can't imagine the trauma she went through. She went through things worse than Shoto's mom was put through nearly twice as long as her, yet she hadn't snapped.

Well, by 'she didn't snap', I mean that she mostly hadn't snapped. There were many cracks that spidered the surface of what we'll call her sanity for simplicity. She had a, as Billie Eilish's song 'Lovely' stated, 'heart made of glass' and 'mind of stone'. 'Heart made of glass' meaning that she was extremely fragile when it came to her emotions, and 'mind of stone' means that she's always putting up a façade of sorts to pretend she's fine and to avoid confrontation of trauma. If I went back in time and tried to convince her to treat her trauma, she'd almost immediately tell me she's fine, but if I continued, she'd just show me to the door. Still, I wouldn't disbelieve that she'd take the regret to her grave. All right, all right, I'll get back to the story.

As usual, she took out a spare sheet of paper and started drawing. She checked her schedule.

Hm. Wonder where Gym Gamma is. We'll probably battle each other or something like that. Eh, I'll live through it.

Are ya sure about that?

Where've you been? You've been oddly silent.

I discovered how to escape your body, although I can only do what a ghost can. That is, practically nothing.

You figured out how to leave my body?! Please tell me I'm the only one who can see you. Anyone seeing a ghost who looks pretty much exactly like me except with glowing eyes is going to be very suspicious.

You worry too much. But, to answer your question, yes, you're the only one who can see me. Although I have punched people and slightly electrocuted them.

You have got to be kidding me. You can't just electrocute random, innocent people!

Actually, I can.

Well, you shouldn't.

Why not? Besides, they were badmouthing our class.

People do that all the time. Besides, that is not a valid explanation to punch and electrocute them.

Um, it actually is a valid explanation.

Is not.

Is too.

Is not.

That went on for much too long. They stopped arguing after Tenya, Izuku, and Todoroki came into the classroom. "Hello, Karma!", he said. "I'm glad to see that you came early to class!". "Mhm.". She turned up the volume of her music so she didn't feel as big of a need to listen to what they were saying. She was pretty sure it was rude, but she wasn't exactly too skilled with social interactions.

"Is that a spider?", Izuku asked. All of Karma's senses immediately heightened by a very significant margin. Don't panic, don't panic, don't panic, don't panic. Great, I'm panicking. Eddie, is there a spider? Todoroki noticed Karma silently freaking out. "What is it, Karma?", he asked. "I have really bad arachnophobia.", she replied nervously. There is a Huntsman Spider on Mineta's desk, Eddie said. All it took was one glance at Mineta's desk for Karma to flinch at the giant spider on it.

Don't worry, it isn't poisonous.

I'd roll my eyes, but I can't since it'd be too suspicious. Besides, aren't you even looking at it? It's terrifying! Besides, Azula showed it to me when I was only five years old! Can you really blame me for freaking out?

No, not really. You still need to work on dealing with all your phobias, though. We both know how bad you are with dealing with them.

I'd rather not look at pictures of spiders and read about them, Ira. And don't even think about telling me to stare at the spider. Just look at it! It's ginormous! There is no way I'm going to stop being afraid of spiders, let alone one of the most terrifying spiders, like, EVER!

Ok, ok, I get it, you're not going to face your fear of spiders, despite-

Shut. Up. Now.

Everyone else was contemplating what to do with the spider. "You all are a bunch of wimps if you can't just kill a spider.", Bakugo sneered. Kirishima glared at him. "That's not very manly!", he said. "Besides, it could be poisonous!". So far, Karma hadn't said anything, but every time she slightly held up her hand, it was shaking badly. Still, she couldn't just let there be misinformation about the spider. She sighed and hoped her voice wouldn't quaver too much when she spoke.

"It's just a Huntsman spider. It isn't poisonous.", she said. Mina tilted her head. "How'd you know?", she asked in a confused voice. Karma shrugged. "I know things.". Inside, she was extremely glad her voice hadn't started shaking the moment she'd started talking. Unfortunately, Bakugo was an extremely good judge of character and could tell that there was something she wasn't telling them. He glared at her.

"Tell us the truth.", he said. She raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? I did tell the truth.", she said with a slightly defensive tone. At that moment, Aizawa walked into the room. "What is it?", he asked grumpily. Everyone pointed to the spider. He sighed, got a cup and a piece of paper, put the cup over the spider, and slid the piece of paper under it. He then proceeded to throw it out the window, and it presumably landed somewhere far, far away.

Everyone sighed with relief. They all then went back to whatever they'd normally do during homeroom. Bakugo wanted to violently interrogate Karma on why she wasn't telling the class the truth, but he knew he wasn't going to get it. Everyone did. They always tried, over and over and over and over and over again, but she didn't spill the beans. At some point, most of them just quit trying to figure out stuff about her past. They still tried wheedling out the tiniest of details, though, but they usually did it in a joking way.

The class had managed to warm up to Karma's personality, and, her being 13 years old, made her the baby of the class. They'd never admit to being even the tiniest bit of overprotectiveness of her, but it was there in everyone. Even in Mineta and Bakugo. The last thing they'd want to do is hurt her, and vice versa. Everyone in Class 1-A knew that they'd either never find out about her past or that she'd tell them after some time.

"Everyone, get into your hero costumes. We're going to Gym Gamma.", Aizawa said. They all got into their hero costumes and compared their winter versions to their usual versions once they were done.

"Nice cape, Momo Yao! It looks really warm!', Mina said. "Thanks!". "Do ya like my winterized goggles?", "Mhm! They look really nice!". Izuku tilted his head. "Karma, why didn't you add any changes to your costume?", he asked. She got the look in her eyes she only got when she was showing off her killer robots. "Oh, I did. They're just well hidden.". "What are they?", he asked. "Yeah, show us!", Kaminari chimed in. Karma sighed. "Fine.".

She tapped the edge of her fingerless gloves, and metal came out to cover her hands and forearms to make a pair of black gauntlets with white circles on the palms. There were many oohs and aahs upon seeing the gauntlets. "It's nanotech. Ya like it?", she asked. There were many nods among the class. "What can they do?", asked a curious Izuku. Karma grinned and blasted the floor, right next to Mineta, who let out a shrill scream. "What the heck, Karma?! You could've killed me!", he protested. She rolled her eyes. "The important thing is that I didn't.". "You're just a big wimp, Grape.", Bakugo said. Mineta glared at him.

"My hero name is Grape Juice.",

"Whatever.".

Then Class 1-B walked into the room. "THe MomEnTum Is SHifTing tO uS!", yelled Monoma. "I pOlleD ThE SchoOl, and THey PreFerreD OuR PlAy oVer YouR COncERt!". Kendo was about to karate chop him, and Aizawa was about to strangle him with his capturing weapon, but Karma was first and just shut his mouth, although she couldn't make him stop making noise. "MHHMMM! MHHMMMMM MHHMMMMM!", he protested. Karma just barely suppressed a giggle at it.

Now, don't just go and label Karma a sadist. Yes, she found Monoma struggling to speak hilarious, but if I'm being honest, anyone would laugh at that. Besides, she had an insane, maniacal god inside her head who'd always come up with the most violent solution to everything and show them to a 5 year old. Those images would scar anyone for life, and if you can see those images while growing up in a miserable environment in which you get regularly shot just to figure out if they can permanently erase your Quirk and regularly being mentally abused and constantly being reminded of all the bad things you've done and being deprived any love and attention while growing up without being emotionally and mentally unstable and scarred for life, that's all I need to know about you.

Karma went through some insane treatment while growing up, and look at her. She hides it all and actually manages to be happy and make friends and care for people and not have to go to therapy or a rehabilitation center. She, by far, had one of the worst childhoods one could ever have, and was relatively sane. Now, back to the story.

"We're going to have Hitoshi Shinso from the General Department as a special guest. Shinso is trying to enter the Hero Course. We're going to be doing a joint training battle with Class 1-A against Class 1-B with Shinso participating in two of them. Karma, you're going to participate in two battles, too, just to confirm your ability to stay in the Hero Course.", Vlad King said. Hitoshi Shinso then walked in. Karma couldn't help but notice that Ojiro and Izuku had a certain reaction when seeing him. Wonder why. I'll ask them later. Vlad King then announced the teams. Karma was put on Team Tsuburaba first, and was put up against Team Asui, consisting of Tsu, Kirishima, Kaminari, Koda, and Shinso. All right, Karma, you have to just focus on the fact they're your opponents right now.

Chapter 15

The first battle of the Joint Training Battle had just begun. Karma was hiding practically right behind Ibara when the other team fell for their trap. Right after Jurota jumped out at them and was out of the way, she sent a large blast of air at them and sent them as close as she could from that distance to the jail. She then flew everyone to spots surrounding the opposing team.

Ibara then wrapped her vines around Kaminari so he wouldn't be able to electrocute them. "Send out your vines to the others, Ibara!", Hiryu said. She responded, "All right.". However, it was Shinso using his Artificial Vocal Chords. Karma flew over to Ibara and hit her on the head before she could be used to do Shinso's bidding. She then proceeded to steal his Artificial Vocal Chords so he wouldn't be able to do anything with them. She then looked up just in time to see Koda send a swarm of insects heading her way.

"You have got to be kidding me.", she muttered. Karma blew away the insects as far away as possible, albeit not as quickly as she would've been able to do if she hadn't forcibly been shown videos of the most terrifying insects and bugs and spiders to ever exist when she was only 5 years old by her cousins. It's a miracle that she was even relatively sane.

She then used her capturing weapon to grab Koda and toss him into the prison. She then went to the rendezvous to meet up with the others. When she landed, she checked her pockets and realized that the Artificial Vocal Cords had fallen out. She cursed under her breath.

In the room where everyone else was observing, Monoma was bothering Class 1-A (again). "Is that how you guys talk? Makes sense, judging by how big your heads are.", he drawled. On the screen, there was a flash of red in Karma's eye. She looked up at the cameras. "Do you ever shut up, Monoma?", she asked exasperatedly. Everyone in the observation room flinched. Aizawa sighed. "Karma, focus on the battle.". Everyone was more surprised about the fact that Aizawa said it as if he'd had to deal with these kinds of situations a lot. Like a lot, a lot.

After about 45 seconds, Karma got impatient - yes, her ADHD was that bad, people, and it was even worse for her as a little kid - and flew up to figure out where the others were. As she did that, she saw Tsu throwing the guy with scales into the beast guy, causing them to headbutt each other and pass out.

"Well, then, I guess I'm the only one left. Oh, well, I can hopefully take 'em, since the plan's in tatters.". She flew over to them. "Let's just get this over with.", Shinso said when she saw Karma. They went into an offensive stance and then gave chase.

She immediately went right at them when they started and threw them back. Not with her air, folks, but with her own physical strength. Really makes me feel bad about the fact that a 13 year old could probably lift a 150 to 200 pound adult while I can barely do a pull up. Definitely should make you kids feel bad, since you're the same age as her right now and can't even do a twelfth of the things she could.

"Did she- did she just push them back without her Quirk?!", asked an astonished Sero. The moment she did that, Deku took out his handy notebook and started muttering to himself and writing at breakneck speed. "Wow, she's strong. Probably also crazy fast, too.", remarked Mina. While the others were singing their praises for Karma's insane abilities, Monoma looked like he'd just gone off the deep end.

"Heh heh, n-nice strength, little 13-year-old,", he said with a twitching eye. Kendo went to karate chop him on the neck, but Bakugo got there first. "SHE" *smack* "HAS" *smack* "A" *smack* "NAME!". That's right, Bakugo actually had gained respect for Karma after only a few weeks. The other students quickly rushed to restrain him. "You didn't tell me that she had that effect on others, Aizawa.", Vlad King said, looking slightly annoyed that Bakugo was beating up one of his students. "The longer you get to know Karma, the more you respect her but at the same time have a sense of overprotectiveness over her. That affects everyone, even the ones with the hardest shells.".

She then grabbed Red Riot with her capturing weapon and threw him into the jail. Her strategy was just to get the fight over with as quickly as possible. She then sensed that Shinso was coming behind her while Froppy was coming right at her. She immediately shot straight up to dodge them and then raised up pillars of rock to make sure they didn't reach each other. She was about to take care of Shinso when Froppy grabbed her with her tongue and threw her against a wall. Hard.

The impact was greatest on her forearms, which were her weakest point. She bit her lip to stop the tears and tasted something copperish in her mouth. She took off her mask, wiped her mouth with her hand, and saw blood. She coughed it up a bit more. "Crap. Oh well, I can handle it.", she said, putting her mask back on.

The moment she saw Shinso and Froppy coming towards her, her brutal training from her childhood kicked in, and she made a fiery blue shield to protect herself. While doing so, her eye flashed a bright red, and this time, everyone noticed. The two of them quickly backed away when she brought up the shield.

"She has Dabi's flames!", said a shocked Can't Stop Twinkling. "And what was that flash in her left eye and how has her hair not revealed it yet?", asked Cellophane. Aizawa and Vlad King slightly stiffened at the sight of the bright red flash. The students were discussing theories on the flash of red at this point. "Wait, didn't Dabi's flame cause all his burns?", asked Deku.

Chapter 16

Karma had been holding up the fiery blue shield for nearly ten minutes now, and it was excruciatingly painful. She still didn't let up, though, since it was keeping them away. She slowly started to stand up, her legs shaking. "Easy, easy.". When she finally could stand on her feet without any support from the wall behind her, she took down the shield and just stood there in a relaxed stance.

One glance at her fingers would tell someone just how destructive and painful the flames she and Dabi could wield could be. Her fingers were extremely bruised and looked like they could barely move, yet they did. There was also a substantial amount of smoke coming from them. She had clenched them into fists to negate the pain. She had gotten fire resistant gloves to negate the burns she got when using her fire abilities. They were just as good as fireproof gloves, she just preferred to call them by the more accurate term.

Karma flew up a little and brought up chunks of rock from the ground and grinned. "Bring it.". They all went to each other, dodging the attacks they sent at each other, but eventually they tired Karma enough to incapacitate her. Not knock her out, but incapacitate her. Keep that in mind, kids, because it shows that she's the only one who can knock herself out.

"Wow. Someone's strong.", Kaminari remarked as they came back up. "Thanks.", Karma replied while massaging her fingers. Todoroki came up to her. "How'd you use blue flames like the villain Dabi's? We've only ever seen you use flames like mine and Endeavor's.". Karma sighed. "Through certain experiences, I was able to figure out how to use more than just the flames we see everyday. I can use nine types of flames, including regular flames.".

This discovery shocked both classes, who didn't think that it was possible to be able to use multiple varieties of flames. It also showcased just how formidable Karma was as an opponent. It's such a shame that she isn't here with us anymore.

Anyway, she was quickly able to heal her hands with her ice and went to discuss strategies with Deku, Uravity, Pinky, and Grape Juice. At the same time, Eddie was giving Karma updates on the battles. So far, Team Yaoyourozu had lost, Team Todoroki had a draw, and Team Bakugo was in the middle of their battle. Bakugo had promised to have a 4-0 win, and Karma was sure that he'd deliver.

"How about I'm the bait? If I was, they'd be spending most of their energy dealing with me, and in the midst of it all, you all could immobilize them, one by one.", she said. "Good idea. How about I join you in dealing with them? That way they'll spend even more of their energy on us.", Izuku said. The others nodded in agreement.

By the time Team Bakugo was done and, not surprisingly, they'd won 4-0. Monoma was shocked by the fact that Bakugo had actually managed to cooperate with his team members. Karma found his face when Bakugo's team won extremely satisfying and hilarious. You would too, okay, so don't judge.

They gathered in the arena. Then, the battle began.

Chapter 17

Karma and Deku went out into the open. There, they waited for the opposing team to come to them. It didn't take long for them to come. By them, I mean Monoma and Shinso.

"AHHHHH!", they heard Uravity scream. Deku looked extremely concerned, but Karma reassured him that it was just Shinso with a look. "We know better than to ignore two powerhouses like you two. Especially you.", Monoma said, nodding to Karma. "By the way, wasn't Bakugo's victory impressive? I never thought that someone as self absorbed as him would be able to cooperate with his team, especially since he doesn't even call them by their names. But I have to say, it's quite a shock that he was smiling like that, despite the fact that his weakness caused the end of-",

Before he could finish his sentence, Karma tackled him with all her might and started punching him with the power of John Henry himself. John Henry, by the way, was a god from African folktales. His strength was insane. Like, insane on the level that he could beat a machine in a race to build a railroad through pure strength and adrenaline with a freaking hammer through a giant mountain, although he died in the process. And yes, she did punch him in the face. Trust me, kiddo, I know what it's like to get punched in the face by her through raw experience. You have no idea how painful it was, although I deserved it. What I did to deserve it is a story for a different day, though.

Anyway, she eventually knocked Monoma out and then threw him into the jail cell. When she looked behind her, she saw Deku with black tendrils coming out of him. He also looked like he was in excruciating pain, almost as bad as her having to hold up a flaming blue shield for 10 minutes. She quickly restrained him to make sure he didn't cause too much damage. It was extremely difficult to do, though, since it was going completely wild. She knew for a fact that doing it for too long would completely drain all her energy, but she could handle it. After all, all that endurance training wasn't all for nothing.

"Karma! What's happening with Deku?", a distressed Uravity called out. "I don't know!". Ugh, I hate it when I have to say these things, but it's true. I really have no idea! Still, it's the worst thing ever! "Shinso! Brainwash him to calm him down!". Shinso looked panicky for a second, but then yelled "Let's fight!" to Deku, to which he responded, and was able to restrain him so that Uravity would be able to take him away. She finally relaxed and went on to wonder about what she'd just seen.

Karma then realized that this was an entirely separate Quirk, seeing as which it had nothing to do with his Quirk. It didn't do anything to change the air pressure around them, and Deku didn't look like he was breaking any bones, although he looked like he was in some extreme pain. Seeing it, though, triggered a memory she didn't even know was there, a memory that was buried through years and years and years of misery and torture and a childhood that had been prematurely torn apart.

"That person's name was Lariat. His Quirk was Blackwhip. I wanted to take the Quirk for myself, since it was so powerful, but unfortunately, he was a user of One For All, so I had to kill him.", All For One said. A two-year old Karma tilted her head. "What's One For All?". "You see, my little brother was Quirkless, so I gave him a Quirk that stockpiled power. It turns out that he actually wasn't Quirkless, though, and had a useless, dormant Quirk that could pass Quirks down. The two Quirks merged and it became One For All, the most powerful there is, other than yours. So you see, it's been passed down for generations, and Lariat was one of the users of it. The fifth user, to be exact. All Might is the current user. He's the reason I'm like this, but one day, I'll kill him for what he did to me.", he said.

Wait a minute, so Deku has One For All?
