The Shadows Within the Soul
"Nice to meet you all!" The boy with brown and black hair proclaimed loudly."My name is Yumi Black. It feels surreal, finally talking to another person that isn't myself. Ohohoho~! What a twist!" He began touching himself in various places, giggling like a kid entering a candy store."This is my body! I have an actual body! I have hair! I have clothes! I even have a dick! This is ecstatic! This is the best of the best!" He hugged himself, an crazed expression on his face as he continued giggling."This body is truly perfect!"
"What the hell is this!" Ace demanded, stomping the ground."Who are you? What the hell did you do to Hiraki and Yuke?!"
Yumi lowered his hands, regaining his composure. He looked over his shoulder at Evan, shooting him a grin."Oh? Ace? Are you curious as to what just happened? I guess I can't really blame if anyone feels curious. I owe an explanation to Yuri and Yuya also. Because they'll soon become one with me as well."
"What was that?" Yuya gasped, bewildered upon not seeing his friend anymore. Yuri simply scowled, not daring to say a word.
"It's not that complicated, honestly. The Professor already gave you a background of me just recently. To put it short, I am the one who terrorized the Ritual Dimension a long time ago." His maniacal grin grew bigger with each sentence."I am the strongest side of Zarc, reincarnated! I am what Yuke and Hiraki used to be! I am them! And I! FEEL! LIBERATED!" He screamed out, releasing dark energy from his body, causing the whole building to tremble.
"This is insane...!" Ace muttered to himself."You still haven't answered my question! Why the hell are you alive again?"
"Are you really that dense? I'm sure Akaba Reiji knows this too, but Hiraki has showcased a particular kind of power in various occasions. Remember all the way back in Standard when Hiraki and the other Lancers were fending off against the Obelisk Force to protect Serena? Where did you think that power came from? Or when he faced off against the Dragon Twins. Who was the one called Yuke? Who was the one who wielded Harvoc Nova Ritual Dragon? All those questions are simple. I've always been here. Biding my time and waiting for the perfect opportunity."
"But how did you went unseen for so long? Why didn't Hiraki say anything?" Reiji inquired, feeling the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
"Because Hiraki wanted power. And sure, who doesn't? He needed me and I gave him what he needed. You see, I could have revived a long time ago, but the Professor was not a fool. He created the personality known as Hiraki, when he suppressed all memories inside of Yuke. Yuke is basically me with no memories or emotions. His biggest mistake was changing Hiraki back to Yuke, because by then I was already a step closer. I needed a strong body, after all."
He began pacing around the room, his gestures displaying elegance."But Yuke was moved by Hiraki, so he decided to simply stick with him. He knew of my existence. I go with the name Kumai, after all."
"If that's the case, how the hell do you even exist?" The sound of footsteps grew closer rapidly. There, Edo, Sora, and Tariko stood.
"You guys...!" Ace grinned."I knew you'd come around."
"Seems we came at a very decisive time." Edo observed both duels."Yuya and Yuri. So, that guy is Hiraki. Yuke too."
"Man, just when I thought this couldn't get more confusing." Tariko sighed, hands on his hips."So then, who is that big guy over there?"
"Please don't pay mind to me." CHAOS rose a hand."For now, allow him to continue. I'm truly interested in him."
"Thank you." Yumi squealed in delight."Like I was saying, Yuke knew of my existence, which is why he locked me up as well. But Hiraki and I had already formed a strong bond, so he didn't hesitate in accepting me. Every time Hiraki called me forward, I gained more access to his body and soul. When Serena was transported to ARC-V, he lost all hope and aspirations, much as Evan did. But unlike Evan, Hiraki had someone to submit himself to. He gave me full access to everything, and b doing that, I could finally take what's mine! I grabbed both of their spirits and merged them into one. That's what you guys just saw when Yuke was forcefully pulled out of my body."
"So when that happened, you were that dark-faced that swallowed both of them." Yuri surmised, rubbing his chin."Since their lives were pretty much yours, all you did was simply unite them back to form you."
"Ah, very perceptive!" Yumi cackled madly."Although, it'll take some time for them to fully accept me, so their essence disappears. But it's too late. They won't hear you anymore. Right now, I'm in control! I have my body again! I'm so happy I could sing! Today is so wonderful~! I feel like chuckling~! Ohohoho~! I feel a little fussy inside like a chuckling~! Filled with, tarantulas! And now that I'm here...it's time...to be set...FREE!" He cracked his neck in a swift motion, twisted in an inhuman fashion.
"Like hell!" Ace roared, taking a step forward."Hiraki, what the hell are you doing?! Is this really what you want?! For this freak to take over your body?!"
"Technically, this is MY body. Thank you very mu-"
"I don't give a fuck! You tricked him into giving up his life to you!" Ace snapped, not wasting a second."Hiraki, listen to me! Don't give up! Evan didn't do for nothing, for fuck's sakes?!"
"Evan is...dead...?" Tariko repeated, grabbing his head."No way..."
Yumi deadpanned, not knowing what to say."Well, no response, I guess. How sad. Were you expecting a miracle? I told you, dumbass, they can't hear you anymore. They are one with me now. And soon enough, their conscious will disappear forever."
"If you think I'm going to sit and watch that, then you're fucking mistaken!" Ace activated his Duel Disk. Sora, Edo and Tariko followed suit.
"I'll go to-" Reiji was held back by Reira."Reira...?"
"Ray...she's saying he's too dangerous...!" The child grabbed onto Reiji, trembling."She's scared...he'll kill us all!"
"Me, kill?" Yumi was in front of Reira in a blink of an eye.
"What the hell?!" Tariko looked around, perplexed."Where did he go?!"
"Dumbass, he's behind us!" Ace shouted, alerting everyone that Yumi standing there.
"Man, you guys are slow as hell." Yumi snickered."Seriously. I even scared the hell out of that kid. Hold up, let me show you what I mean." Yumi glanced over a wall.. He took a step back, drawing his arm back before throwing a punch in the air forth that sent a shockwave towards the wall, breaking it into pieces.
"What power...?" Sora felt his whole body shake."Just what is this guy...?"
Yumi retrieved his fist back, smirking in amusement."Ah~! I can't tell I'm much stronger than when I was a kid. I'm limitless! Ah, but you really want to duel me. You are brave, but dumb. Say, CHAOS..." Yumi shifted his gaze over at the diety."You don't mind me if I get a little warm-up going, do you? You see, the body is rather new, so I want to get it in high gear before I duel you."
"Fine by me." CHAOS dismissed the thought."Just make sure you give me a proper challenge when you're ready."
"Oh, you'll find me to be more than a challenge." Yumi returned the gesture with a sardonic smirk."I'm a godslayer, after all. Well then, boys." Yumi splayed his hands, welcoming his opponents."Make me try. After all, this is the fun way."
"Don't you mean the hard way?" Ace gritted his teeth.
Yumi chuckled, shaking his head."Now, why would this be hard for me?"
"Duel!"

"Oh? Ace by himself?" Yumi blinked in surprise."You have a deathwish, kubo?"
"Ace, what are you doing?!" Edo grabbed his shoulder."You are still hurt from your duel with Yuri! You need our help!"
"Just jump in whenever you want to." Yumi winked playfully."All newcomers are welcome."
"I'm more than enough, dickface!" Edo snarled in disgust."You are not Hiraki or Yuke, that much is true. You are an abomination."
"Well, that's just rude." Yumi huffed."Well, I'll go first then. I summon Spectro Hollow - Zetsubou Spider in ATK mode!"
A black spider appeared on the field, fixing its 8 eyes on its prey.
Spectro Hollow - Zetsubou Spider Level 4, Dark, Insect, ATK: 1200, DEF: 1300
"Spectro Hollow?" Ace narrowed his eyes."That's not the Deck neither Hiraki or Yuke used."
"A good observation, my idiotic friend. You see, my powers were sealed and so were the power of my cards. Spectral Devas were just a weaker and more "family-friendly" version of my real Deck. I'll show you. I activate the effect of Zetsubou Spider! I can Special Summon one of its children from my Deck! Appear, Spectro Hollow - Little Jack!"
A smaller spider appeared on the field, jumping on top of the bigger one.

"Now, I tune the Level 4 Zetsubou Spider with the Level 2 Little Jack!" Both monsters melted into darkness as Yumi chanted."Fuel by the desire of destruction! Make way and take the world by its neck! Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 6! Spectro Hollow - Nightmare Histeria!"
A woman wearing a long black dress appeared on the field. She had two long black wings and two red horns coming out of her head.
Spectro Hollow - Nightmare Histeria Level 6, Dark, Spellcaster, ATK: 2000, DEF: 1300
"I present to you, my most powerful monsters and my most faithful servants." Yumi announced proudly."I present to you, my "Nightmares". I'm sure you'll get acquainted quite well. Especially since I'll be using Histeria's effect. I can seal up to 3 Monster Zones on your field."
Two giant X's appeared on Evan's field.
"I can control where I want those X's to be, so consider yourself lucky I allowed you to go first. I end my turn with that."
Yumi hand: 4
"Cocky asshat! My turn! I draw! Come on, Hiraki! Don't lose to this fucker!" Ace called out to his friend."You are stronger than that!" He scowled as Yumi simply rose his brow in amusement."Then I'll have to wake your ass up! By discarding a "HERO" monster from my hand, I can Special Summon Vision HERO Farris in ATK mode!"
Vision HERO Farris Level 5, Dark, Warrior, ATK: 1600, DEF: 1800
"I activate Farris' effect! When this card is Special Summoned, I can set a "HERO" monster from my Deck to my Spell and Trap Card Zone! I choose Vision HERO Increase! Then, I set one card and end my turn!"

"Well, it's my turn! I draw! I activate Histeria's second effect! I can switch the order of blocked monster zones once! I'll be giving Farris a quick goodbye by blocking him off!"
Ace watched in awe as a giant X's fell on Farris, squashing him.
"Now, you'll take 500 points of damage!"

"I have something still! From the graveyard, I activate the effect of Increase! I can Special Summon it to the field when I take battle or effect damage!"
Vision HERO Increase Level 3, Dark, Warrior, ATK: 900, DEF: 1100
"Now, I activate the Continous Trap Card! Vision Reverse! When I Special Summon a "Vision HERO" monster after I take damage, I can target a card on your field and destroy it! I choose Nightmare Histeria!" A gust of wind came out of the card, engulfing Histeria and throwing her against the floor, destroying her.
"Not bad! My blood is pumping!" Yumi jumped excitedly."The people from Ritual were so dull and boring. But you are proving to be extra fun! This is the best! This is so ecstatic!"
"Just shut up, and get with the duel," Evan grumbled, rage boiling up inside him.
"Never mind, I take that back." Yumi sighed."I don't get why to waste your efforts in fighting me. The real enemy is CHAOS, isn't he? Shouldn't you people get together and duel him?"
"Oh, we will." Ace responded with a challenging smirk."But we'll do that with Hiraki and Yuke when we get them back from you. Until then, you are my target."
"Such determination. Hiraki certainly had good friends." Yumi chuckled, holding his sides."Even though he was just a made-up personality, he was still pretty popular among you. Regardless, it's a bit too late for that, you know? Well, since you took down Histeria, I'll move on to something else. Ah, I see. Okay then, how about this? When I control no cards on my field, I can Special Summon Spectro Hollow - Battalion in ATK mode!"
An aerial bombardment miniature ship appeared on top of the duelists.

"I then activate the Spell Card, Monster Rejection! I can target a monster on my field and return it to my hand. In exchange, I can Special Summon up to 2 monsters from my Deck whose levels add up to the monster I just returned! I Special Summon Spectro Hollow Black Condor and Spectro Hollow White Lizard!"
Two monsters appeared on the field, clad in their respective color-armor according to their name as they wielded two blades.
Spectro Hollow - Black Condor Level 3, Dark, Winged-Beast, ATK: 1000, DEF: 0
Spectro Hollow - White Lizard Level 3, Dark, Reptile, ATK: 600, DEF: 900
"I'll be using Condor's effect, and increase the Level of monsters on my field by 2 per monster on all our fields. Since in total we control 3 monsters, then they will gain 6 Levels and become Level 9!"

"Following that, I activate White Lizard's effect and search for a "Spectro Hollow" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck!" Yumi looked satisfied at the card in his hand."Oh, Ace, you poor little Ace who is about to suffer the consequences of being my opening act. With my two Level 9 monsters, I build the Overlay Network!"
Both monsters turned into green energy as they entered a black portal.
"Abyssmal beast that resides deep in the dreamscape of the forgotten! Show us your wicked powers and ensure the prosper of a new world! XYZ Summon! Appear, Rank 9! Spectral Nightmare - Despair!"
A minotaur appeared on the field, clad in flaring armor of flames, wielding an ax.
Spectral Nightmare - Despair Rank 9, Dark, Warrior, XYZ, ATK: 3000, DEF: 2300, OU:2
"I activate Despair's effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit, I can target a monster on your field and banish it. However, for the rest of this turn, my monster can only do half damage, as you control no monsters afterward."
Ace clicked his tongue as his hero was erased from the field, leaving him wide open.
"So, without further ado! I attack you directly with Despair! And "Despair" you will feel!" The minotaur threw its ax at Ace, who was fast enough to dodge. However, the sharp object managed to put him on the arm once the ax was retrieved backward.

"Sorry Ace, but I'm not done with you just yet! A monster who used white Lizard as a material can attack a second time! Dreadful Judgement!" The ax was thrown again and this time, the handle hit Ace on his sides, crushing a few ribs as he recoiled in pain on the floor.

"Phew! That's a lot of damage." Yumi cackled, bending his back unnaturally backward."You know, you could avoid all of this by giving up, you know? I mean, I don't get it. Why fight me? When you know I'm the only person who is capable of defeating this monster? That's clearly the choice, you know? Doing this to yourself will only prevent you from fighting him head-on. So, why risk it?"
"Because you selfish piece of shit...what's the point o winning if it takes two of my friends dying on me?" Ace winced, grabbing his sides painfully."They gave up everything they had to ensure we all have a better tomorrow. Evan is gone, but we can still get Hiraki back. You said so yourself, he's still not in complete synch with you. Besides, even if we defeat CHAOS, you are still a threat. Am I wrong, "Mr. I'll destroy everything?" Besides, I'll be damned if I let a guy with a girly name get ahead of me."
Yumi's eyes dilated at that."What did you just say...?"
Ace grinned, noticing he had hit a nerve."I said you have a girl's name. I wonder what that means for you. Let me guess, you like it up the ass? Maybe that explains why you're moving like a girl!"
"You piece of shit!" Yumi's voice sounded demonic for a brief second."Fine. Have it your way. Here I was, being nice by toying with you and not killing you, but I guess you just want sweet death, don't you? Next turn, I'll fucking end you! I set a card and end my turn!"

Ace gasped, taking a loon on his right and noticing Edo and Sora had joined the bout. And Tariko was close behind them as well.
"What the hell are you all doing? He's mine!" Ace suddenly lost his footing, but before he could hit the floor, Tariko helped him up.
"No need to act so tough in this situation." Tariko wrapped Ace's arm around him."I'm infuriated that Evan is dead. And I know killing this bastard won't fix that. But the sooner we beat him, the sooner we can make the real culprit pay."
"He's right." Edo nodded in agreement."One step at a time. I might not have met Hiraki in person before, but Yuke comes next to him. If he's the one who destroyed the Ritual Dimension, and if he's not at full power yet, we have to take this opportunity and beat him now."
"Aw, isn't that just cute?" Yumi shuddered in excitement."Well, I hope you can help me out before I put you all down. You know if there's any pudding here? I could go for some food right now."
"Sure." Sora grinned cheekily."I think we can feed you after you've been taken care of. We have nice hospital beds."
"You would know that, wouldn't you." Yumi mocked him."Anyway, since all of you suddenly join, how about we follow a certain set of rules? Every time one of you takes a turn, I'll take one. And I won't attack any of you who hasn't had a turn yet. So make sure you're stocked in defenses." He received a nod in response."Good. Don't worry, Evan, Ill spare you for now. I want you to see me massacring your friends in front of your eyes. I hope you like the sound of bones and ligaments crushing and grinding together."
"Enough of your nonsense! My turn! I draw! I activate the Spell Card, Destiny Draw! I discard a "Destiny HERO" and draw 2 cards from my Deck! Then, I summon Destiny HERO - Drilldark!"

"I now activate Drilldark's effect! I can Special Summon a "Destiny HERO" monster from my hand! I Special Summon Destiny HERO - Decider!"

"I activate Decider's effect at once! I can retrieve a "Destiny HERO" monster from my Graveyard and add it to my hand! Next, I activate the Spell Card, Polymerization! I fuse Decider and Drilldark!"
Both monsters entered a multicolored vortex as Edo began to chant."Hero born from a world of darkness! Hero of the dream world! Now, become one a reign over the utopia's twilight! Fusion Summon! Come on! Level 8! Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy!"
Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy Level 8, Dark, Warrior, Fusion, ATK: 2800, DEF: 2400
"At this moment, Dystopia Guy's effect activates! When this card is Fusion Summoned, I can deal you damage equal to the ATks of one of its summoning materials! Since both of them have the same amount of ATKs, it doesn't matter which one I pick! You take 1600 points of damage!"
Yumi felt pain throughout his entire body, however, he never stopped smiling.

"I find it hilarious how people from Academia are trying to redeem themselves," Yumi muttered to himself.
"I activate the Spell Card, D - Drag Hammer! I can equip a "Destiny HERO" monster from my hand to another monster on the field! A monster equipped with that card will lose ATKs equal to that monster's ATKs!"
"Ah, so you plan to weaken my monster?" Yumi gave a lopsided smile."A good plan."
"Sorry, but that's not my intention." Edo confessed, leaving the evil-incarnate resurrected boy perplexed."I equip Destiny HERO - Blade Master! Which will subtract 300 points of damage to my monster!"
Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy ATK: 2500
"Why would you do that to your own monster...? Had you done it to Despair, you would have had a 100 ATKs of an advantage." As he finished his sentence, a wave of realization hit Yumi like a train."Unless...!"
"That's right." Edo gave him a cocky grin."Dystopia Guy's effect activates! When his ATKs are changed, I can target a card on the field and destroy it!"
"So that's what you were after!" He shot a wide smirk as his monster was absorbed by Dystopia's palm.
"And now, I attack you directly with Dystopia! This will finish it off!"
Yumi splayed his arms out."I activate Despair's effect from the graveyard! When it's destroyed and it still has Overlay Units, I can return him to the field! Furthermore, if my opponent controls a monster whose ATKs are lower than my monster, I can deal you damage equal to the difference!"
"Not so fast! From the graveyard, I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Dreamer! When my monster battles another monster, my monster cannot be destroyed and I take no damage! And I Special Summon him to the field!"

"You narrowly avoided death. Great." Yumi applauded."Well, that was something."
"I set two cards and end my turn!" Edo concluded."At this moment, Dystopia's ATKs go back to normal!"

"Then allow me to go! My turn! I draw! Look, Evan, as your friend dies in front of your eyes! When I control a monster from the Extra Deck, I can summon Spectro Hollow - Airdrone!"
A metallic drone appeared on the field, circling around the field high above the ground.
Spectro Hollow - Airdrone Level 4, Dark, Machine, ATK: 1500, DEF: 100
"At this moment, I'll activate Airdrone's effect! I can give every monster on my opponent's field a "Target Counter" once per turn. I'll go with both of your little heroes, Edo!"
Edo observed as the droned activated two small looking tubes on its side, a bright redlight pointing at both monsters on the field.
"Now, let's move on with the show! Ladies and gentlemen!" Yumi laughed, splaying his hands out."I activate the Continous Spell, Sacrifice of the Fool! With this card, I can perform any number of Ritual Summons. And the best part is, once per turn, I can search for a Ritual Monster or a normal monster! Which is exactly what I'll do now! Next, I'll tribute Airdrone in order to Ritual Summon!"
A black portal with blue flames appeared on the floor, absorbing the drone as Yumi began to chant.
"Blissful ignorance clad in the cloth of fear! Watch the world from the deepest parts of hell! Ritual Summon! Appear, Level 4! Spectro Hollow - Nightmare Raider!"
A man clad in a black robe, wearing a skull mask and holding chains on both arms appeared on the field.

All red flags rose in Edo's mind. He was saving this for later, but he had a bad feeling."I activate my Trap Card, D-Fusion! I can perform a Fusion Summon using monsters on my field!"
Both Dystopia and Dreamguy entered a multicolored vortex as Edo began chanting.
'Interesting.' Yumi observed a golden light emerged from the shadows.'He summoned that on pure instinct, not even knowing the effects of Raider. It's without a doubt that duelists now days are way stronger than the ones before.'
Destiny HERO Duskutopia Level 10, Dark, Warrior, Fusion, ATK: 3000, DEF: 3000
"Duskutopia?" Ace looked up at the massive golden warrior standing in front of them.
"Duskutopia's effect activates! When he's Fusion Summoned, I can Fusion Summon again using monsters on my hand or field! From my hand, I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Hammer Log! When I perform a Fusion Summon, he counts as 2 Fusion Materials! Appear! Destiny HERO - Dangerous!"

"All these monsters for me?" Yumi laughed as he glanced around Edo's field."You shouldn't have! What's wrong? Did you panic? Summoned these two monsters because you got frightened? This is the best! I absolutely love it!" Yumi began banging on his head like a wild animal."I want to feel it! I want to feel the pain of living! And I'll share that with you!"
"I'm not so sure! I activate Dangerous' effect! By discarding a card, I can-"
"I activate Raider's effect! I can return a monster on your field back to your hand, or in this case the extra deck. I don't want to take any risks, so I'll go with that Dangerous guy's effect. Furthermore, I can send a monster from my field back to the Extra Deck, and it allows me to draw 2 fresh cards from my Deck. Now, I activate the Spell Card, Forging Nightmares! I can activate this card when I control a "Spectral Nightmare". I can increase my monster's ATKs by 1000!"

"Now, I attack your Duskutopia with Raider! Rogue Chain!" The monster threw its chains, wrapping them around Duskutopia.
"At this moment, I activate Duskutopia's effect! Once per turn, I can target a monster on the field and it won't be destroyed by battle and I take no damage involving this monster!"
"Ah, so that's what you were hiding. My suspicions were correct." Yumi mused."Well, it doesn't matter. Raider attacks you anyway!" The chains began wrapping around Duskutopia, but not really damaging him.
"You see, when Raider attacks, he steals half of its opponent's strength and gains it!"

"As a little bonus, he can attack as many times as it needs until my opponent controls no more monsters."
"Are you crazy?" Edo exclaimed, flabbergasted."Duskutopia cannot be destroyed by battle and I take no damage!"
"Oh, I know. But you fell directly onto my trap. You see, I knew something was up the moment you summoned Dreamer on the field. Why would you summon a weakling like that." Yumi began pacing back and forth."But when you set that card, I knew it was some sort of Fusion Card that would help you out just in case. When you saw my monster, your instincts forced you to go into panic mode and you summoned Duskutopia. Of course, I had no idea Duskutopia could Fusion Summon an extra monster."
Yumi couldn't help but show his teeth as he smiled too wide his face was hurting."You were a little too hasty and summoned Dangerous, and naturally, you wanted to weaken my monster just in case.
