"Sam, you are obsessing over this. Just take the information and look for the answer yourself," Diane told her husband.

"Honey, you know me, I don't just solve a problem. I have to let it get me mad enough first. It's a process," Sam said.

"Well it's stupid," Diane said back.

"How do you really feel?"

"What's stupid?" Nora asked as she walked over to the bar.

"Sam found out that he is adopted and won't take the information from his adoption to find out who his birth parents are," Diane explained.

"Hey, why don't you just rent a billboard and tell everyone?"

"Sam, it's only Nora."

"Still"

"Ask Frasier to help. He didn't have any trouble finding my mother," Nora said.

"I don't even know what's in the envelope," Sam said.

"You haven't looked at it?!" Nora was shocked.

"No, I wasn't sure I wanted to."

"I'll have Frasier take the boys to Niles and Daphne's and come over here."

Frasier arrived and went with Sam into the office.

"Is it bad that I'm kind of irritated that I'm out here?" Diane asked.

"He's your husband and you probably want to know. Maybe even help," Nora said.

Frasier and Sam stayed in the office until closing time.

"You know those idiots better come out here soon," Carla said.

"Carla, we're all done. I'm sure you can go," Nora told her.

"Yeah but I wanna know."

Frasier came out and noticed everyone staring at him, "Sam is still kind of shocked. He needs some time to absorb everything. Diane why don't you go in there and he'll tell you everything." Diane walked into the office and Frasier looked at Nora and Carla. "Nora, did you know you have an older sibling?"

"What are you talking about? I'm an only child."

"No, you're not. Your parents had a child before you but gave him up for adoption to protect him from your father's connections. His gender would have guaranteed his involvement and placed a target on him."

"Frasier, how do you know this?"

"I just got off the phone with your mother and some of your father's closest friends."

Carla understood what Frasier was talking about and Frasier realized that she got it, but Nora didn't.

"Why were you in there looking into my life when you were supposed to be helping Sam?"

"Looking into Sam's life led me to yours when we saw his original birth certificate."

"Wait, are you saying? That Sam is my brother?"

"Yes"

"They gave him up to protect him, but kept me to torture me."

"Darling..."

"I need to get home," Nora turned and ran out of the bar.

"She'll be fine," Carla said, "she just needs time to absorb this and work through her emotions. She's the toughest cookie I know and we'll all be here for both of them."

"Thank you, Carla."

"Sure," Carla turned and left.

"Hey Frasier, where's Nora?" Sam asked as he and Diane came out of the office.

"It was a bit too much for her, so she went home. Carla left too and said she's here if you need her."

"How did Nora take it?" Sam asked.

"Not well, but not because of you. It's just more proof for her that her parents didn't love or care about her. To her, they chose to protect you and chose to torture her."

"Tell her if she wants to take a few days off that's fine. Just let me know," Sam said.

"Thank you, Sam. I better go," Frasier went home after his wife.

"Sam, it's going to be alright," Diane reassured her husband.

"You know I've been thinking all these years that if I were lucky enough to have a sister, I'd like her to be like Nora. Now I know Nora is my sister and my parents were monsters."

"The Malones' are your parents. They are the ones who raised, loved, and cared for you. Martin said that DNA doesn't make you family and he's right. It may take you some time to work through what you're feeling now, but you'll get through it." Diane kissed her husband and the two locked up and left.

Nora wasn't scheduled to work the following day. Sam asked if he could come over to talk, and Nora agreed. Frasier let Sam in and led him to the playroom where Nora was with the children.

"Darling, Sam's here," Frasier told his wife. Nora got up and switched places with Frasier.

"Honey I want you to know that I am sorry..."

"You don't have anything to apologize for Sam," Nora cut him off.

"I feel like I have to."

"I don't feel that you do. You know I'm angry at them not for protecting you, but for refusing to protect me and treating me like garbage."

"I don't know how I feel being genetically linked to them."

"It sucks," Nora laughed, "but he's dead and she's in prison. It's easy to move on when you let go of what your idea of who they should be is."

"Yeah," Sam thought, "you know, I always have thought of you as a sister and now you are," Sam smiled. Then he started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Nora asked.

"I'm your brother, but Diane is your sister-in-law," Sam cracked up.

"She's going to be after a relationship isn't she?"

"Yep, better go into hiding."

"I grew up in the mob, I don't need to hide," she grinned.

"What about from you know who?"

"You have met her, right? Mob or not the woman is insane."

"Frasier found out no one connected to your, our, father liked her. She's so insane that they decided it was best to stay on her good side."

"You see, even the mob is afraid of her."
