Prologue
June 27th, 2026
Have I escaped yet?
My eyes slowly opened to the darkness that surrounded me. I was falling through the air, with no sign of something to stop my descent. Anything that had been falling with me was long gone.
How long had it been since I started falling? The royal purple scales of my coat had begun to peel away, and the cracked chestplate had long been separated from my chest. It could've been months for all I knew, maybe years. Or even seconds. I couldn't tell. All I knew was this was likely going to be my fate forever.
A lump began to form in my throat as it always did in the brief moments where I was conscious. I tried to speak, but the void around me absorbed the sound before it even escaped my lips. I closed my eyes again, ready for sleep to claim me again.
However, my mind began to wander, back to the past, and what had exactly led me to this moment. The black castle in the middle of a beautiful city. The crystal clear ocean that stretched beyond the horizon. And a tower that stretched to the apex of Infinity. The memories were beginning to flood back…
Light Darken, that was my name. The one who traversed Infinity and shall be falling through it forever.

This has been a passion project...7 years in the making (oh god, I have been putting this off). I'm happy to finally be putting it out there.
Fair warning. This is a series that I do want to publish some day. I haven't decided how much of Volume 1 I want to publish, but I will not be publishing any more than the first volume publicly to read. But, Volume 1, I'm happy to allow you all to have for free. And I hope it'll encourage you to check out the rest of the series once I've written them.
