A/N: Hey y'all! This story follows the timeline of the RWBY series with an original character and with plenty more, OC's coming in the future. Though it is it follows the timeline, there will be original content mixed with it and I might change the story a bit too. So I hope y'all enjoy this and join me for the ride!

edit: I actually changed a part here in this story as I wanted to implement a few new characters, with this chapter revealing Kent's 'acquaintance' Norman.

disclaimer: I do not own any characters, besides my OCs.

Chapter 1: A Rose Meets the Lightning

In the world of Remnant, Humans, and creatures of darkness, known as Grimm, roam the planet. Past centuries, Grimm has overpowered mankind until their discovery of a power that was named 'Dust.' With the help of dust, mankind was able to defend themselves by utilizing its capability to hold elemental properties, such as Fire, Lightning, Water, Earth. With the threat of Grimms that have decreased since man's discovery, mankind has prospered and eventually established settlements, kingdoms, and peace. Alas, centuries passed, and possible Grimm invasions and attacks still loomed Remnant. Thus, mankind took strides and adapted to Grimms's forces, unlocking their inner potential called 'Semblance.' Semblances could be controlled with the help of a person's aura, which helped mankind in their never-ending war against Grimm. Over time, certain individuals were able to hone and strengthen their semblances and aura, which they used to hunt Grimm, these individuals were known as 'Huntsmen' and 'Huntresses.'

In the empty streets of Vale, somewhere in the corner of an alley, was a shop named Dust 'till Dawn, which, as the name states, sells dust. Outside the shop, showed a group of unwanted customers. The group wore matching all-black suits, top hats, and gloves with red shades and ties, led by a man with a contrasting white blazer with red inside, a grey scarf, the same top hat and gloves, dark brown slacks, and had green eyes along with orange hair holding a cane in his right hand.

The criminal group entered the store to rob the owner of every last bit of dust the store has. Much to the owner's dismay, he had no other choice but to comply. Unbeknownst to the group, at the back aisle of the shop, stood a young girl donning a red cape that had a hood covering her head, a black skirt, leggings, and boots with hints of red at the sole, and also had a notable red box-shaped metal equipped near her waist, who seemed to be browsing some magazines. One of the henchmen noticed her and approached the girl with an annoyed look.

"Alright, kid, put your hands where I can see them!" he grunted to the red-hooded girl unsheathing his sword that was tinted red but didn't seem to notice his threat.

"Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?" grabbing her shoulder.

The red-hooded girl's face was then revealed with her wearing headphones and having black hair with red hues at the tip and silver eyes, taking it off to listen to what the man in front of her is saying.

"Yes?" she asked.

"I said, put your hands in the air, now!" he ordered once again.

"Are you… robbing me?" she asked with a squinted look. "Yes!" the furious man replied.

"Oh." Looking at him once more with a cockier look.

The red-cloaked girl then easily dropkicked the man with enough force launching him towards a wall, wrecking shelves in the man's area. The other henchmen noticed their fellow comrade unconscious and glared towards the girl's direction before rushing towards her.

"Freeze!" A henchman pointed a gun at her, the red-caped girl shrugged off the threat once again by kicking the man towards the window, shattering it in the process.

The other henchmen looked at the now shattered window to look at the girl donning a confident smirk while holding the red-metal box in her hand, transforming into a scythe with a barrel in the handle indicating its other use of being a gun. The sight in front of them then clicked into the group leader's head, she's a Huntress-in-training.

"Okayyy…" unamused of the sight in front of him. "Get her!" ordering the rest of the henchmen attack her.

As the henchmen rushed towards her, one of the henchmen leaned forward, slicing his sword right at her. She easily dodged the attack by using her scythe pinned on the concrete floor to launch her legs in the air, spinning on the handle, landing a solid kick on the man's face. Without a second to waste, she immediately leaped in the air and landed before pressing the trigger near the handle shooting out a bullet towards one henchman, knocking him down. Changing back into a scythe, she pushes the trigger to change gears, giving her a boost and utilizing it by spinning with her scythe landing hits on one of the henchmen rushing towards her, launching him in the air. Finishing the other henchmen slamming the blunt-edge of her scythe down at him.

At the corner of her eye, she notices the streetlights flickering, as if there was a current of electricity disrupting the lights. While she was in thought, she shrugged it off before dodging the last henchman's bullets firing at her by changing the gears from her scythe's barrel using the boost to quickly move in another direction along with her semblance leaving a trail of red petals on the floor. Changing gears again, she again utilized the boost and her semblance by speeding past the henchman's attacks sliding towards the man's legs, launching him in the air. She immediately followed with an intense spinning strike, launching in the air with the help of her scythe. The now unconscious man roughly landed near the group's leader.

"You were worth every cent. Truly you were." He muttered to the unconscious henchman beside him.

"Well, Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I love to stick around…" Slowly walking towards her, getting a clearer sight before aiming his cane as the bottom popped up a scope.

"I'm afraid this is where we part ways." Firing off an explosive blast at her, courtesy of a fire crystal, using it as a distraction to escape.

As he was about to run, he noticed a fast-approaching blue spark rushing towards the red-hooded girl. He knew it was another Huntsman-in-training and would be trouble if he stayed any longer, especially if it was him.

"He just had to pick a date when graduation was coming up." The man groaned aloud before letting out a sigh. "Well, let's just get this over with."

"Cheer up Kent. I'm pretty sure he will be around here, if our intel is correct," a man's voice said from an earpiece he was wearing.

"If what that dusty old crow said was right, I can capture him tonight." A black-robed man replied as a grin crept up his face jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

"Hmm? Well… it looks like I'm a little late." As his grin quickly faded upon hearing distant noises. "Well, good luck with that Kent. Gotta clean the dishes now."

"Leave it to me, Norman. Tell mom not to wait for me." Removing his earpiece, getting closer to the loud noises.

From a distance, he heard gunshots and glass shattering, most likely a fight is ongoing. In an instant, the black-robed man activated his semblance as his body was engulfe with blue lightning, amplifying his speed towards the fight's direction.

As fast as his body could go, he arrived at a scene of henchmen knocked unconscious on the ground, before seeing a red-cloaked girl standing before a man in front of her, the man he was looking out for. He then saw the man point his cane at the girl, and without hesitation, the black-robed man activated his semblance again, quickly dashing towards the girl, carrying her and jumping out of the explosive's way just in time.

It's coming - Red had reacted too slow and was about to take a massive hit. She then closed her eyes to brace for the impact, placing Crescent Rose in front.

BOOM.

Huh? I heard the explosion but... nothing hit me? - Instead of receiving an explosive blow, She found herself in the air being carried by a boy wearing a black robe, seeing small sparks coming out from his body. She stared at the man's face, trying to get a more precise look. As she got closer, she seemed familiar with the face she was staring at.

Red had maybe stared a bit too long, as the black-robed boy soon noticed what she was doing, looking back at her silver-eyes, giving a sincere smile. This had made a slight blush to appear in Red's cheeks, making her look down in embarrassment.

While in the air, he looked around, trying to find the leader of the group. He soon saw him climbing the ladders leading to the rooftop.

"Roman." he then muttered softly. Though it was soft and quietly said, Red had still managed to slightly hear the man's words.

As soon as he landed, he quickly rushed towards the leader – Roman, pursuing him with Red still in his arms before setting her down gently as he landed in the same rooftop as Roman.

"You did great, but try not to get into too much trouble. Your sister would kill me if you got hurt." The black-robed man chuckled as he patted her shoulder, giving her an encouraging smile.

"Leave him to me, can't let you steal all the action now, can I, Ruby?" he mused before turning towards Roman.

The red-cloaked girl - Ruby, got a clearer look at him as the black-robed boy stood in front of her.

Looking at his face, it seemed that he had brown hair and light-blue eyes. Underneath his black-robe, he donned a white striped tee that had dark grey long sleeves with a lightning emblem embedded in the left side of his chest. He wore fingerless gloves, tight dark blue combat pants, black combat boots, and a weapon, which looked like a katana, sheathed near his right hip.

Without a doubt, the boy in front of her was a senior the same grade as her sister, Kent Levin, the best and most promising Huntsman-in-training in their school, Signal Academy.

"Well Roman, it seems you're still doing well even after our fight last time," Kent said as he slowly approached Roman, who's back was turned against him.

"I ain't letting you escape this time." Gripping his weapon which he named 'Dark Flash.' A custom-made katana that was made with special metal that was capable of handling the electricity of his semblance, thus making the blade tinted black.

"Well, if it isn't the one and only, Zapper Kid," Roman scoffed as he stood still.

"That scar never healed, you know?" removing his glove in his right hand, revealing the injury as he still had his back turned. "Too bad, kid. I ain't alone this time."

Right on cue, a warhead hovered in front of Roman, which he immediately hopped into.

"End of the line, kid." Turning towards Kent as he held another fire crystal, he then threw the crystal right below Kent, shooting a white blast from his cane towards it.

"This again… seriously?" Kent muttered in disappointment backflipping back, whilst leaving an electric clone of himself to counter the blast heading his way.

As the explosion was about to hit, a woman with blonde hair donning a black and purple cape, white long-sleeved polo that revealed her chest. A high-waisted pencil skirt, black-brown leggings, and black boots with bronze heels holding a thin, black-riding crop with a simple black and purple design on the handle, created an energy shield to block the blast.

"That was a rather careless solution, Mr. Levin," the blonde-haired woman spoke bashfully at Kent.

"No offense Professor Goodwitch, but I believe that was an explosive solution." he playfully responded, before turning his attention back at Roman.

The professor let out a deep sigh from Kent's comment, as she also turned her attention back towards the warhead. With her semblance, she then created multiple purple orbs sending it towards the warhead, causing it to uncontrollably shake from the impact of each sphere.

From inside the ship, Roman rushed towards the cockpit, "We got a huntress!" he grunted as the pilot quickly stood up, and Roman took the wheel.

Continuing her onslaught, she then charged up her semblance, casting a cloud above the warhead.

"Mr. Levin, your assistance." She asked as she then summoned a hail of large ice shards from the cloud.

"My pleasure, Professor," Kent replied with a grin, extending his arms forward aimed at the cloud, casting his own rampage of lightning strikes from the cloud.

"Huh, that's one sturdy ship." Surprised at the fact that his lightning hadn't caused the ship to fall down yet.

Prof. Goodwich then noticed a lady's figure from the warhead's cabin door, it didn't show her face. However, it was enough for a glimpse at a red dress and glass heels to be seen standing casting her own semblance, casting out a fireball towards Kent and her, putting a halt to their onslaught to defend themselves.

The blonde professor blocked her spell summoning an energy shield once again, while the blue-eyed huntsman simply sliced the fireball before it made contact with him, using the katana that he infused with his lightning semblance. Not wasting the opportunity, the woman from the warhead immediately followed up her attack with another. She then cast a flame vortex with the use of the remnants of her fireball, from the feet of both Kent and Prof. Goodwich, sending out rubble from the force of the flames. They again easily dodged the attack with both backflipping out of harm's way.

As they regain their footing, both of them then shared a nod, which seemed as if they know what the other is going to do. Without a pause, the blonde-haired professor used her semblance to utilize the scattered debris and transform it into sharp spear-like rubble. Kent then simply added electricity to the spear strengthening its base and foundation before it was then sent out towards the warhead.

Roman noticed the incoming projectile, tilting the plane quickly to avoid fatal damage as the electric spear simply collided with the vehicle's roof, shaking it roughly once more. Professor Goodwich then quickly acted disassembling the large spear into four smaller ones that slowly breaking it apart, surrounding and circling the warhead. The lady inside the ship reacted to the attack as she cast a more potent spell countering the spear rubbles and disintegrating them with her semblance.

Ruby seeing the battle reach a stalemate, quickly acted by transforming her scythe into its gun form before shooting bullets towards the lady figure, who simply blocked all of her shots before casting out another flame vortex beneath the three of them. Kent quickly dashed out of the way while grabbing Ruby out of the way, as Prof. Goodwich simply flipped forward to avoid the explosion before looking at the figure in the warhead as they make their escape.

The roof's once loud atmosphere had immediately turned into one of silence. Ruby then broke the silence as she spoke.

"You're a Huntress, and you're the Kent Levins." She softly spoke.

"Can I get your autograph, Ms. Huntress! And oh! Oh! Can you teach me your moves, Mr. Levins! Oh, I mean Kent?" she spoke with a ton of energy, raising her hands in front of her face, while her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Kent then rubbed the back of his neck, letting out a chuckle at the sight of Ruby acting all energetic. He would be lying to himself he didn't find the silver-eyed girl antics amusing and cute.

"Sure, but I don't know if I'll be a good teacher, though." letting out another chuckle, his attention was soon caught by Professor Goodwich glaring at the red-cloaked girl.

Kent quickly pulled Red near him, wrapping his arm around her shoulder before whispering.

"Professor Grumpy over there might bring you to the station for questioning." Ruby's energetic face had then turned to one of shock.

She was anxious about what she heard and wanted to say something but decided not to, in the end, letting Kent continue.

"Don't worry, you kicked butt out there. So, you'll probably be fine… I think" Ruby snickered lightly punching the shoulder of Kent from his last remark, as the latter also let out a laugh of his own, as both then turned around to face the professor who had a more angered look.

"Don't be too rough on her, Professor." Kent chuckled as he gave one last pat on the shoulder of the silver-eyed girl before walking near the edge of the roof.

"And where do you think you're going, Mr. Levins?" The angered professor asked bashfully.

"Well, just gonna help clean up the mess back there, courtesy of Ms. Rose here," he smirked, giving a playful wink at Red, waving goodbye. This had caused the latter's face to heat up a bit.

"See ya later." Vanishing away in a blue spark.

Ruby seemed to be drifting off, standing still as she stared at where Kent once was with her blush still evident on her face. Her attention was then caught with a cough from Professor Goodwich, who appeared to be crossing her arms with one hand holding a scroll with her details on it.

Somewhere in an interrogation room, Ruby Rose had been interrogated by the short-tempered professor. Counseling her for the actions she had done earlier, shortly stopping her scolding to give a 'compliment' before continuing her rant.

Amidst their conversation, it was soon interrupted when a stoic-faced middle-aged man entered the room. He had silver hair with thin brown eyes, wore shaded glass spectacles, an unbuttoned black suit over dark green, buttoned vest, and green shirt while he held a long cane that looked like a walking stick on the other hand, with a plate of cookies on the other.

The middle-aged man introduced himself as Professor Ozpin, he was known as the headmaster of Beacon Academy. Where Ruby's sister, who was two years older than her, plans.

Fortunately for her, the headmaster gave her the opportunity to join her sister. Which she quickly accepted without any hesitation, much to Professor Goodwich's dismay.

"I'm. Going. To. BEACON! Yang's gonna be so surprised when she hears this!" Ruby shouted with enthusiasm.

Somewhere in Patch, in Rose-Xiao Long residence. A blonde-haired and lilac-colored eyes was in her room, preparing for graduation before suddenly letting out a sneeze, feeling chills run through her body.

"What the heck? Did someone just? ...Weird" Yang spoke to herself, as she wrapped herself in her arms to soothe her chills.

A/N: Soooo? How was it? It's actually my first time tackling some action story-telling but I hope it wasn't that bad. And oh to the readers of my persona story, I plan to continue both if you're wondering. I just took a break from Persona and wanted to release the urge of writing a RWBY Fanfic. Well, I look forward to your support and you can leave a review of what you think as well!

P.S: I actually made a sketch of my OC so if y'all are interested to see it, just tell me. Oh! The next chapter would be the backstory of Kent! I hope you all look forward to it!
