I'm sorry if this chapter was kinda rushed. I'll try to make sure next time that the content is still good and not rushed. Thanks and sorry again for the inconvenience.

Chapter 4: Kent Levin (III)

"Alley Oop!" Kent said aloud as he jumped high in the air activating his semblance while also gripping his weapon, attacking with an onslaught of attacks, hitting multiple Grimm that surrounded him.

"And… time!" With the speed of his attacks overwhelming the Grimm as all of them had seemingly been defeated, vanishing into black smoke.

It had been six months since Kent left the tribe. He had been traveling all around Remnant in search of his sister. His journey had allowed him to reach places he hadn't yet seen before. He had seen a lot of beautiful sceneries, along with… some areas he wished he'd never see again.

The young brunette had also been hopping around from village to village, staying around to help them occasionally as he continued his journey. Some being reluctant as they were worried about his age, not that he could do anything about it.

Currently, he's residing in a village named Moran, located near the outskirts of Vale. The village leader had asked him a favor of clearing a few Grimm that were lurking near the area.

"That should be all of them!" he said with a smile as he sheathed his katana. As he was about to leave, he examined the area where he battled the Grimm again, tilting his head as it was filled with thoughts. "I felt slow today too… Hmm... Something feels off, wasn't there a bigger one earlier?"

As he continued to get lost in his thoughts, his attention was caught when he felt a presence approaching him.

"Hmm?" Kent then simultaneously activated his semblance while unsheathing his sword, attacking the presence with blazing speed.

"Who are you?" he asked as his katana clashed with a more massive sword.

"Relax, kid. I'm not an enemy." A man stated as he was holding his ground, quite surprised by Kent's speed.

"I'm a professional huntsman, name's Qrow. Mind lowering your weapon now?"

The man had graying black spiky hair, brilliant vermillion eyes. He donned a tattered red cloak, while also wearing a gray dress shirt with a long tail paired with black dress pants and black dress shoes.

"Qrow?" Kent asked curiously, stepping back, keeping a defensive stance, as he felt he had heard that name before.

"Qrow... Qrow... Auntie... Ah! Right! You're Qrow Branwen! Auntie Raven's brother!" he said excitedly as he sheathed his weapon.

"Auntie?" Qrow was now donning a confused look on his face. "You know Raven? And why do you call her that?"

"Sure do! She took me into the tribe a while back. She's also the one who trained me. The auntie part... well, that's kind of a long story." Kent answered with a smile, rubbing the back of his head.

"Right... that explains something I guess. That aside, what's a kid like you doing out here?"

"Ah, right. I'm staying in a nearby village here." Kent replied as he stretched his body and arms to the side.

"Village? That's odd… didn't you just say you were with Raven?"

"It wasn't too long ago, but I left due to some... reasons." Kent answered as his mood slightly saddened as he recalled the 'reasons.'

He shook his head as he tried to shrug off his thoughts before continuing.

"I lost my parents, around the time auntie found me. I also had an older sister, but... she went missing the same night. So, here I am, roaming Remnant, searching for any clues that could lead me to her."

"I... see." Qrow's face had turned from one of amusement to something more somber, seeing the pain that the young boy went through in his light-blue eyes.

"You look beat. Wanna rest up in the village? It's not that far from here." Kent stated as he led the way back, Moran.

"So, what are you doing out here? Auntie didn't tell me much about you. She only told me that you abandoned the tribe."

"That I did. I'm not sure just how much you know… but let's just say I didn't agree with their ideals and motives, and that's why I left." Qrow replied hesitantly. "I'm actually here, hunting a pack of Grimm that had been destroying villages all the way out here."

Qrow then informed Kent that he had received information about a pack of Grimm that have been rampaging small towns and villages. According to the intel he gathered, the last attack was rather close to his location as he had completed a different mission along the way.

"Ahh, them. I already took care of them. They weren't too strong, but… I do feel like I missed one of-" Before Kent could finish his sentence, he was cut off by a loud growl coming from the trees.

"So, I did miss one. Mind lending me a hand, old man." He said with a confident grin as he gripped his katana, activating his semblance simultaneously as blue sparks surround his body.

"Seems like Raven rubbed off you," Qrow replied with a smirk as he prepared his single-edged greatsword with it transforming into a scythe. "Try to keep up, kid."

As both stood their ground waiting for the enraged Grimm to approach them, a tall wolf-like creature came out from the bushes. It stood on two legs as its black body was covered with bone plating all around; its most notable features are its big long arms with sharp claws.

"What the… What is that thing?! It looks like a Man-wolf!" Kent exclaimed loudly, shocked at the sight of the wolf-like Grimm.

"First I've seen of it. That thing is not normal." Qrow stated with a serious tone.

"Well, whatever it is… time to shock it!" Kent then charged quickly to attack the Grimm.

"Wait, kid! Don't act rash!" Qrow shouted.

Kent was about to attack with a diagonal slash, but it seemed that the Grimm had anticipated his attack, landing a strike to Kent's body before he could defend himself.

"Ack!" Kent was then knocked back with full-force as he crashed into the ground, leaving a crater.

"What a punch…" Kent slowly stood up, recovering from the attack.

"Try to relax, kid. You're rushing into things. Follow my lead." Qrow then engaged his own attack on the creature, parrying the creature's incoming attack landing a severe blow on the Grimm's back.

This didn't affect the Grimm much as its wound slowly healed. The angered Grimm looked even more furious. It attacked Qrow, with the huntsman narrowly dodging its attempt stepping far back near Kent.

"That's new," Qrow stated as he stared at the even more enraged Grimm.

"Has any other Grimm, been able to do that?!" Kent exclaimed.

"Hmm… well, looks like we just have to hit it, 'till it gives up." Kent felt a surge of more potent electricity surround his body.

"Hey, Kid. Wait-" Qrow was cut-off as Kent had run past him, rushing the Man-wolf.

Kent dashed with quick speed as he vanished into thin air, leaving sparks at where he was once. As he got close enough to the Man-wolf, Kent unleashed his own onslaught of attacks, slashing with precision and force, slowly overwhelming the Grimm. Qrow only stood awed at the sight in front of him, Kent's movements looked a lot more refined and honed. But what else got his attention was the surge of aura coming from the boy's left eye seeing flashes of flicker between silver and blue.

Kent's rampage was reaching its conclusion, landing one final strike on the Man-wolf's neck as he decapitated the Grimm swiftly. Kent let out an exhausted sigh before turning towards Qrow and giving him a thumbs-up.

"Told ya, they were easy… Woah… I feel woozy…" he then fell on the floor face-first, passing out from exhaustion.

-=O=-

Kent… I'm sorry… - That voice, it was soft and sweet. It was definitely her, big sis Rayna's voice.

How long has it been since I've heard her voice? Nearly five years... that reminds me, she could've graduated Beacon last year. - Kent stood in a dark empty void, as he floated there in the void of nothingness.

Shortly after, the brunette soon saw a visage of her sister's silhouette, turning her back against him as she slowly walked away - Wait! Sis! Don't go!

"SIS!" Shouting in panic as he stood up, regaining consciousness.

"Easy there, kiddo." Qrow calmly patted his shoulder.

"Qrow?" Kent then looked around, analyzing his surroundings.

It was the place he had been staying in at Moran. Small yet cozy and wasn't anything fancy, but it was comfortable enough to live in. After regaining his composure, with a deep breath he turned towards the huntsman.

"How long was I out?"

"Not too long, you've been out for a couple of hours." Offering the kid water before sitting down next to him. "Where do you plan on heading out next?"

"Hmm… I don't really know. I haven't found a single clue of where she is, except some flashes of her in my dream." Kent replied as he drank the water Qrow had offered him.

"Ever considered going back to a huntsman academy?"

"Academy?" Kent was surprised by the huntsman's suggestion, as he had never thought of school since he spent his time with Raven.

"I mean, with your skills right now, I'm sure you'll do great. But that's up to-"

"I would love to!" Kent interrupted as he bursts with excitement. Qrow could only smile at the enthusiasm of the young boy.

"Well, someone's excited. We'll leave tomorrow morning then."

"Right! Oh, come to think of it… I don't think I ever introduced myself. I'm Kent, Kent Levin." Kent then bowed to show courtesy to Qrow.

"Nice to meet ya, kid." The two exchanged smiles before Qrow left for the night.

The rest of the evening was uneventful as Kent only spent the night packing away his belongings and speaking to a few residents of the village he had gotten close to during his time in Moran.

-=O=-

The morning then came as the slow orange orb slowly emerged to the sky. Both Qrow and Kent expressed their gratitude to the village leader, who saw them off. The former led the way as they headed off on their journey to a small town in Vale called Patch, where the school he teaches in was located, Signal Academy.

Patch wasn't too far from Moran, but it took a few days until they reached the town. During their short breaks, Kent had insisted on Qrow to train him while they had nothing to do. Which the latter quickly declined but eventually gave in as Kent kept persisting. After a few more nights, the pair had eventually arrived at Patch as both stood in front of Signal. The school was in its final weeks of summer break as the teachers and staff prepared for the opening sometime soon.

"So, what are we doing here? In front of a… tall building." Kent asked as Qrow only stood and looked like he was waiting for someone.

"As I was saying… We need to- wait… Qrow?" a tall man with yellow hair asked, his face full of shock at the huntsman's appearance. Beside the well-built blonde was another man who had black hair and was wearing glasses. For some odd reason, he looked really familiar to the young brunette.

"Good to see ya, Tai. Andrew" Replying with a smirk, with the black-haired man giving a nod as the blonde man- Tai approached him.

"Surprised to see you around here this early." Giving the huntsman a hug before noticing the boy beside him. "Who's he?"

"The reason I'm here, that's who," Qrow replied as he nodded to Kent, giving him the signal to introduce himself.

"O-oh! Hello, I'm Kent Levin. Nice to meet you both, sirs." Giving a short bow to Tai to show respect.

"Nice to meet you too, Kent. I'm Taiyang Xiao Long, a teacher here in Signal. And this is another fellow teacher, Andrew Lee." He replied to the kid.

"My word, Kent Levin." Andrew stood in disbelief seeing the brunette alive.

Tai didn't pay much attention to the teacher's reaction as he turned his attention back to Qrow.

"I assume that the reason why he's here is to enroll in Signal?"

"You read my mind." Qrow snickered before continuing. "I also wanted to ask a favor from both you and Andrew as well."

"And what might that be?" Tai crossed his arms, curious as to what Qrow would request. "You see, the kid here is… well, let's just say he's 'alone.'"

"I… see." Giving a nod before allowing Qrow to continue.

"I'll sponsor the kid, but I haven't found a place to let him stay yet. So, if either of you could…"

Before Taiyang could reply, Andrew quickly answered. "I'll be glad to take Kent under my care. It's the least I could do for both of his parents."

Kent heard their conversation as he finally got a good look at Andrew's face. Andrew Lee, he was another member of team ALKA, his parents' team.

Andrew was the best friend of his father and had plenty of pictures of him spending time with both of his parents. From the stories Kent's parents have told him, he was one of the strongest huntsmen in Beacon, with him winning the Vytal Festival as proof of his strength.

"Thanks, Andrew. I'll leave him to you. I'll go set up his paperwork then." Qrow then patted Kent's shoulder before heading off.

"Don't cause too much trouble, kiddo. You coming, Tai?" Both Qrow and Tai headed on inside the school as Andrew and Kent stayed.

"You must be tired. Let's head home for the day. I'm sure my family will be glad to meet you." Andrew gave Kent a warm smile as the latter followed the former, exchanging a short conversation along the way.

"How have you been these years? I was quite surprised to see you well. The last time I heard of your family… I was pretty shocked and disheartened of the passing of two of my closest friends."

Kent soon explained everything that had happened to him to Andrew of how he lost his family, was saved by Raven, and how he met Qrow.

"I see… I'm sorry, I couldn't find you sooner. But I'm glad that you're healthy and alive. Raven must've done a great job training you, seeing that you survived those months by yourself."

"She did! I'm all strong because of her, heh." Kent moved energetically as he explained all the cool moves, he had learned with Raven and Qrow.

"You even managed to persuade Qrow to train you? I think I've had enough surprises for the day." The pair shared a laugh as they were nearing their destination.

"I'm home" The pair had finally arrived at the Lee Residence with them being welcomed by Andrew's son.

"Hey, dad! Oh, you brought someone over." His son had pinkish-purple hair paired with purple eyes and was wearing a purple shirt and grey shorts. He also wore a necklace with a gold pendant that had a purple stone.

"Hey, Norman. This is Kent, Kent Levin. He's the son of an old friend of mine. As of today, he'll be staying with us and will be part of the family." Norman was ecstatic at the news of having a sort of brother that he could bond with.

"H-Hi," Kent shyly spoke as the energetic purple-haired boy wrapped his arm around Kent.

"Nice to meet you, man. Hehe. We'll be the bestest brothers ever!"

"R-right, nice to meet you too," Kent replied as Andrew cherished the moment the two boys were sharing.

"Well, Norman, how about you show him to his new room. I'm sure your mother will be returning from her grocery shopping soon."

The rest of the evening went quite well for Kent. He had spent the night with his new family, as he met Norman's mom, who was very sweet and caring. She was also pregnant and was expecting a baby girl soon. Kent had also adjusted to his new environment as he was gonna share a room with Norman, which he had no problem with.

Kent had finally adapted to his new town with both Andrew and Norman showing him around town as they awaited the start of the new school year. They had visited cafés and restaurants, along with the market, and finally getting Kent a haircut at a parlor. Patch wasn't the biggest of villages, but it's what makes the community quite close and connected with the place not being too populated.

Today was finally the first day of school. Fortunately, Kent and Norman were placed in the same class together. It was a relief for Kent to have a familiar face in a new school. It will be the first time since he was seven, that he would step back inside a classroom.

Kent was wearing the school uniform, opting to leave his black-robe at home. The pair soon arrived at school, making their way to their classroom as a female teacher, most likely their adviser awaited the arrival of Kent.

"Ah, you must be the new student. Mr. Kent Levin, am I correct?" The brunette teacher asked as Kent approached her.

"Yes, ma'am," Nodding in response as Norman went ahead to look for a seat.

"Well, I hope you enjoy your time here in Signal. I'll be your adviser for this year, Ms. Ann Palmer. I'll let you introduce yourself once class starts, for now, you may take a seat."

"Thank you, ma'am" He then walked towards the empty seat beside Norman. More students came into the classroom, with the start of class fast approaching.

As the bell rang, Ms. Ann had called upon Kent to stand in front of the class and introduce himself.

"Hi. I'm Kent Levin. Nice to meet all of you."

The class had mixed reactions with the new student. Some boys looked pissed at the boy as Kent noticed some of the girls were daydreaming while staring at him. Kent could only let out a chuckle while rubbing his neck before Ms. Ann instructed him to sit down.

The class shortly started after Kent's introduction. The morning wasn't too eventful, he had just been introducing himself to the other teachers he had yet to meet. Other than that, he was just listening actively to their discussion until the lunch break came.

During their break, Kent and Norman were discussing something as a bright yellow long-haired girl was walking towards Kent. She had lilac eyes and was wearing the school-uniform apart from the skirt and her not wearing a blazer; a couple of her buttons were also unbuttoned, and her sleeves were rolled up along with a loose tie.

"Hey, new kid. I'm Yang Xiao Long, but you can call me Yang."

Kent was taken aback as the girl in front of her looked so similar to Raven. That, and her last name was the same as Taiyang, the teacher he had met a couple weeks ago.

"H-Hi. Nice to meet you. Umm… I hope you don't mind me asking, but… is your father a teacher at this school."

"Hell yeah! Wait… you know my dad?" Yang quirked her brows, crossing her arms, waiting for Kent's response.

"I do. I met him during my first time coming here."

"Oooohh! So, you're that guy. Heh, looks like I get the chance to see how strong you are first-hand." Kent let out a chuckle at the motivated blonde in front of him.

"I'm looking forward to it."

Classes shortly resumed after lunch. The rest of the afternoon went on, with some teachers calling Kent to answer some questions, which he did easily. It seems that Kent's intellect has stayed in touch with him being able to read fast and memorize anything he had learned.

As the semester went along, Kent and Norman had become rivals during combat classes. With Kent being unanimously winning all of his sparring matches so far. The rest of his batchmates envied his talents, with the others praising him and often ask for his advice after classes.

"That's enough, Ms. Xiao Long. The winner of today's match is Kent Levin." Kent let out an exhale, walking towards Yang to help her up.

"You did great today, Yang. Still beat you, though." Giving a smirk at Yang, who playfully punched Kent.

"I'll win again someday! Just you watch!"

It wasn't long until he had become popular in Signal, gaining a respectable reputation with the teachers and students. Maintaining his high grades as well as honing his combat skills. Kent had also gotten close with Yang, though the latter still furious at him during their combat classes as Yang had only managed to win against him once. Though, it was an off day for the former.

-=O=-

~4 years later~

"Ah, Mr. Levin. I assume you've prepared your speech for the upcoming graduation this year?"

"Of course, Ms. Ann. But, man… I still can't believe that I'll be leaving Signal soon." Kent chuckled before giving a warm smile to his adviser, who was also sporting her own smile.

"You've grown up to be a fine young man, Kent. I'm sure you'll go a long way. See you around, Mr. Levin," Ms. Ann stated before parting ways with the young brunette.

I hope I've made you proud, mom… dad… sis… - Kent stared at the orange orb floating at the horizon, slowly sinking as night approaches. Kent was heading off to the forest, where a familiar pair were awaiting his arrival.

Throughout the years, he had remained at the top of all his classes and was even deemed the strongest huntsman-in-training in Signal Academy. Kent had also garnered multiple invites from tournaments all over Remnant, winning the ones he had entered. Though he is seen as the strongest and quite popular, Kent remained humble and friendly, often helping anyone that seek his advice or tutoring.

"I'm telling you, I never noticed!"

"Wait... so that explains your eyes! I thought I was just seeing things."

It was another training session with Qrow as Kent would usually convince Qrow to train him during the former's free time. Norman had also tagged along seeing that he had finished all his chores early and with their baby sister, Samantha who was born during Kent's first year, being watched over by their mom.

Kent's strength was the result of his time training with Qrow along with extra training that he would take. He would also take missions and would go either alone, which Norman would usually insist on tagging along, or join Qrow. Qrow had helped Kent create his own moves while helping him control his unpredictable strength when his left eye would flicker with silver. The former had just informed the latter of his unique ability to somehow wield the power of the silver eyes for a brief stint.

"Seriously? Didn't you at least realize that your semblance gets stronger all of a sudden?" Qrow quirked his eyebrows, surprised that the know it all Kent hadn't realized his own power.

"I mean... I did! But, I didn't think it would be because of my eye!" Kent retaliated, which only met a laugh as a response from Qrow.

"Man! Hahaha, for someone so smart I can't believe you can be oblivious sometimes too!" Norman added as he continued laughing at his brother's realization.

Kent's bond with Norman had also deepened throughout the years, with both seeing each other as brothers and being inseparable at times. Compared to Kent, Norman wasn't as smart as the former, but he was quite respectable on his own. His combat skills aren't a laughing matter either, as his power-up semblance is what helps the latter being one of the two people who could keep up with Kent, Yang was the other.

After finally settling down, the three continued with their training with Kent and Norman having a serious sparring match to end their session. Of course, Kent won the match, but Norman did put up a good fight, landing a few good hits on the former. The match was intense, but Kent's hidden power was still too much for Norman as he couldn't keep with the power boost the former had gained.

"I... won..." Kent struggled to speak as he was gasping for air.

"I... hate... you..." Norman replied, also struggling to speak as he was tired himself.

"Nice work today, kiddos. Rest up a bit before heading home." Qrow applauded the pair, with both lying on the floor exhausted from their match.

"I'll go on ahead. And oh, Congrats you two." Qrow gave a rare smile to the two brothers, with both giving a thumbs-up before passing out.

Graduation was fast approaching, with only weeks until Kent finishes his time in Signal. It was without question that he was the unanimous valedictorian of their batch. While he awaited, Kent was already preparing his paperwork and files for Beacon Academy.

During one of his missions a few days before Graduation, Kent had run into Yang's little sister, Ruby Rose. She was rather… energetic and quirky, just like how he was back in the day.

He was after a criminal named, Roman Torchwick, who managed to escape him during their last fight. When Kent had arrived, he quickly saved Ruby from a severe blow. Shortly after, he caught up with Roman before being assisted by Professor Glynda Goodwitch with the former having backup.

Alas, Roman, yet again escaped, but this time he was accompanied by a new acquaintance, a female who seemed to be able to wield fire mixed with glass.

The battle had ended, as Kent exchanged a few words with the energetic red-cloaked girl before the pair were scolded by the serious and strict Professor. Kent soon made his way out to help out the police with the damages, while Ruby was asked to join Professor Goodwich, being brought to an interrogation room.

After helping out the officers, Kent immediately went home being welcomed by his foster-mom, Zoe Lee. She had prepared the former his favorite food, with Norman, who had just awoken from his nap welcoming him home as well.

"Busy night, today?" Zoe asked as she donned her usual cheery smile.

"He's always busy helping people, mom," Norman answered, yawning and stretching as he walked towards the fridge to get himself and Kent water.

"Hahaha, I can't help it." Kent rubbed his nape as the three shared a laugh before Kent dug in with his food.

The three continued their conversation, with Kent occasionally complimenting his mother's cooking and the three sharing laughs as Kent discussed what had happened during his mission. Shortly after cleaning up the dishes, Zoe and Norman headed to bed early with Kent deciding to practice his speech again. As he was practicing, his scroll received a notification.

Yang: You're not going to believe this... RUBY WAS OFFERED TO ATTEND BEACON!

She seriously got in? - Kent read the message again, half-surprised, half-glad that she got in as a smile slowly formed in his face.

Kent: She did kick ass tonight.

Yang: Oh yeah, Ruby did say that she was saved by the Kent Levin.

Kent: Did she now? Hahaha, it's not a big deal.

Yang: It is a big deal! Well... either way, thanks for saving my sister.

Kent: Oh, what's this? Yang Xiao Long, apologizing... to me? Of all people?

Yang: What's that supposed to mean!

Yang: I can be nice sometimes too, you know?!

Kent: Relax, I'm just kidding.

Kent: Well, imma go on ahead. Graduation is coming up, you know?

Yang: Crap! You're right! I need to go, Kent! Talk to you later.

Kent: Sure thing, Yang.

Putting his scroll down, Kent looked outside his window to gaze at the night sky filled with stars. I really have the weirdest friends don't I mom? - a small smile was still evident on his face as his thoughts were filled with all the memories he has built throughout the years.

Not long after, Kent prepared for bed as he awaited their Graduation. As he rested his head on his pillow, he closed his eyes slowly dozing off as he falls asleep.

"You sure, you're ready? You look kinda... pale."

"Norman's right. You look whiter than usual today, it's like you're a ghost."

"Guys... seriously I'm fine." Kent waved off the two, but his face said otherwise.

It was finally graduation day, and Kent had been a lot more nervous than he'd initially thought. It would be the first time he would talk in front of a large crowd.

"Well, break a leg out there lightning boy." Yang lightly elbowed the nervous Kent, who let out an 'ack.'

"R-right. Haha, well it's now or never." Kent waved back again to the two as they entered the auditorium.

"We would like to call upon to the stage this year's valedictorian, Kent Levin. A round of applause everyone." The room was filled with loud applause as went up the stage to accept his medal before addressing the crowd with a wide smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Xiao Long." Kent nodded to the yellow-haired teacher, clearing his throat to begin his speech.

"To my fellow huntsmen and huntresses-in-training, family, friends, teachers, and staff. Good morning to you all. I am honored to be this batch's valedictorian, but this award was not achieved by myself alone. This award is the fruit of the hardships and learnings that I had gone through with all of you. I am truly glad to see all of us grow as we aim to be the best huntsmen and huntresses we could be-"

In the middle of the crowd, Yang and Norman were having a conversation as Kent continued his speech.

"You think he would stutter during his speech?"

"Huh? You do know this is Kent we're talking about here."

"Exactly! Hehe, bet you 50 lien he would definitely mess up"

"You're on."

"-Though, our journey through Signal will come to an end today. It is but another stepping stone for our future, that will soon arrive as we leave this room today. I express my gratitude to each and one of you as I have learned a lot through my peers and especially the teachers. But, I wouldn't be here today, If it weren't for the opportunity that these men had given me. Qrow Branwen and Andrew Lee. I owe my life to these humble and special people in my life. And of course, to my family and finally... my brother, Norman Lee. I couldn't have asked for a better brother my man. and oh, shoutout to Yang Xiao Long. Once again, I thank you and I wish you all a bright future. Congratulations everyone!"

Kent stepped off the podium to bow to the crowd as the room was once again filled by the sound of loud claps, touched by Kent's words.

"You killed it. Now... where's my 50 lien, Yang?" Norman smirked extending his hand towards the blonde.

"50 for what?"

"Ugh... we betted that you would stutter half-way through your speech." The defeated Yang answered.

"Seriously? Wow... Why wasn't I expecting that?"

The rest of the ceremony was used for Kent to share a few conversations with his peers. He also took a lot of photos, as everyone wanted to take a picture with him. Of course, he couldn't forget to take a picture with Yang and Norman as the trio posed for the camera. Ruby was also in attendance as she shyly joined the next picture afterward.

After the ceremony, Kent spent the rest of his time to celebrate with his family at home, as Zoe had prepared a feast for everyone. It was a very heartwarming moment as Kent cherished every last second he had with his current family as they shared laughs at the sight of their little sister, Samantha enjoying her food.

It was late at night, a few days after graduation. Kent had just finished finalizing his papers and packing his bag for Beacon when he heard a knock on their front door. It was an hour past midnight, and they weren't expecting anyone to come tonight.

He headed towards the door, opening it to see a small package with a note attached to it awaiting him. He poked his head out the door, seeing no one around the vicinity. Grabbing the package, he headed back to his room, placing the package on his desk as he took a seat.

The attached note read, "To my dearest little brother, Kent. I'm sorry I haven't gotten in touch for the past few years. I was afraid of showing my face around you… after abandoning you that night. After that day, I quickly rushed back to Beacon, where I was kept safe until I eventually graduated. I want you to know that I have always been watching you from a distance, seeing you grow strong. Watching as you develop into a strong huntsman, just like back then. I also want you to always remember that I love you, and I'm proud of you and all your achievements. I'll always look out for you, Kent. And someday… I'm sure we will meet again when the time is right."

Unbeknownst to Kent, Rayna had been watching all this time through his window. As Kent continued to read the letter, he couldn't hold back his tears from falling. He then felt a warm figure, hugging him from behind. Rayna had used her illusion semblance to make a faint illusion of herself to hug her little brother before eventually leaving.

"I'm glad you're okay… Sis…" he softly spoke to himself.

Opening the package, he saw inside a small box. Inside the box was a pair of earrings. It looked well-made, it was a stud and had a rare black diamond embedded on it, surrounded by polished platinum metal.

Kent took everything in once more, as he had finally got confirmation that his sister was alive and well. He set aside all the things from the package, packing it in his bag as he turned in for the night.

-=O=-

"Hey… Kent… Earth to Kent!" a voice shouted at him, waving at his face.

"Hmm? What is it, Norman?" snapping out of his stupor to see the pinkish purple-haired young man in front of him.

"Well, you just started drifting off. So, I was worried."

"It's nothing, just thinking 'bout stuff."

The brunette, who was now wearing one of his earrings on his right ear, leaned on the railing as he was enjoying the view in front of him, recalling past events.

"If you say so."

While the pair enjoyed the view, they could hear a familiar loud voice somewhere at the back of the ship.

"I still can't believe my baby sister is going to beacon with me!" a young woman with lilac eyes and bright yellow hair wearing a tan jacket with a low-cut yellow crop-top underneath, she also wore brown knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks. A gray bandanna is tied around her left knee, an orange infinity scarf, and black fingerless gloves. Screams in joy, hugging Ruby. "This is the best day ever!"

"Plsh… stop… Yang." Ruby says softly, struggling to breathe from her sister's bear hug before being let go.

"I'm so proud of you! I mean you kicked some bad guys asses, didn't you? And now you're going to beacon!" the blonde-haired woman – Yang exclaims.

"Don't say it like that! It wasn't really a big deal, you know?" twirling her fingers together obviously flustered from her sister's comments about the 'incident.'

"But Kent totally saved me and was so cool! He was like pshaa, watahh, and all cool like!"

"Looks like we're in for an unexpected year, Norman." Kent smiled as he continued staring at the view.

"Right… sheesh, I completely forgot Yang was coming to Beacon too." Norman let out a deep sigh before noticing the black-haired girl with red tips. "Wait… is that Ruby?"

"Yep. Guess her talk with the Professors went well." Kent chuckled, remembering his run-in with the girl and Professor Goodwitch.

"Is that so? Well, seems she's promising then if she impressed you and the Professors that much."

"We'll see soon," Kent muttered as he caught sight of Beacon Academy.

"Let's just do what we do best. Shall we, Norman?" Extending his fist to Norman, which the latter reciprocated fist-bumping Kent as they prepare for their arrival in Beacon.
