Agent Bishop and Thomas Magnum were in the Ferrari driving to the house of the murder victims parents. "I never knew Hawaii looked so beautiful." Bishop commented as she looked at the open ocean in the distance.
"Yeah, it has its perks. So Ellie, how have you been? How's Jake?" he asked, last thing he remembered she was still married.
Bishop looked down and then back at Magnum with a smile, "I wouldn't know. Me and Jake devoiced." she said as Magnum looked at her. "Oh I'm sorry." he said wondering what happened.
"Yeah, when I transferred to NCIS, it wasn't really working. We couldn't talk to each other like we always do. He was cheating on me with a lawyer from the NSA. So now, I'm single." she replied as Thomas nodded.
Bishop takes a deep breath, "What about you? How have you been?" she asked, changing the subject. "I'm doing good." he replied as Bishop nodded.
"What about Rick and TC? How are they holding up after-after Nuzo's death?" she asked, trying not to think about him.
Magnum looks at her and lets out a sigh as he looks back out towards the road. "They're doing good. Getting there." he answered as Ellie nodded. She placed a hand on his shoulder, "How about you? How are you holding up?" she asked him concern, she could've imagined how he felt. The same way she did when she heard about his death. But, they were captured together for 18 months so she can't argue with that.
"Uh, it was hard. But we got the guys who did it and that's what counts." he replied to her, he knew how hard it could be for Ellie, she told him that she was sorry for not coming to the funeral because she was in the middle of a case.
They came up upon a house in a residential neighborhood, Ellie looked at the house they parked in front of. "Hey, want me to come with you?" he asked her as she looked back at him with a smile.
"No, I got it. This is just the hardest part of the job. They probably didn't know yet." she replied as he nodded in understanding. Being a Private Investigator requires you to make notifications. She got out and closed the door as she walked up the sidewalk and up the stairs, she takes a deep breath and raised her hand *knock*knock*knock* she waited for a few minutes before the door opened and a middle aged woman with brown hair appeared. "Yes?" she asked the stranger.
Ellie pulled out her badge, "NCIS Special Agent Bishop. May I come in?" she asked as the woman nodded and opened the door wider so she could enter.
Out in his car Thomas Magnum was texting Rick and TC letting them know of Ellie's arrival and they begged him to bring her by so they could see her. He heard crashing and looked towards the house and felt his heart drop, he was about to grab his gun and get out to help Ellie when the door opened and she came out. She made her way over to the car and got in. "Hey, you okay?" he asked her concern as Bishop nodded.
"Yeah. When I told them about their son…." she stopped in mid sentence as she let out a breath and rubs her face with her hands. "Apparently the father took the loss hard as you could tell. Chair missed me by a few feet." she added as she let out a chuckle.
Magnum placed his hand over hers and gave it a squeeze, "They just mad, grieving, and in denial, how about we go and visit Rick and TC because they practically demanded that they see you. We'll come back in a little while when they come to terms of his death." he advised as she nodded in agreement.
When they made it to the Marianna, Ellie and Thomas got out and started making their way inside. They approached the bar as TC turned with a huge smile, "El" he greeted with a smile as they hugged.
"Hey TC." she greeted as they let go. She looked to see Nick came from around the bar, "Ellie. How's my girl?" he asked as she laughed. "I'm doing good, and I'm not your girl." she teased back as they let go.
Rick rolled his eyes, "Oh right. Jake Malloy." he replied as Magnum smiled, "Actually Rick, Ellie here is no longer married. She divorced Jake. Cheating. As in he cheated on her." he told them as they all nodded.
"I'm sorry Ellie, you deserve more." TC said as Bishop nodded. "Thanks TC. Now can we talk about something else, other than my failed marriage?" she asked as they all nodded in understanding.
Rick set down a drink for her and leaned against the bar, "So Thomas here tells me you're with NCIS?" He asked as she nodded. "Yep. NCIS Special Agent Eleanor Bishop at your service." she replied as she took a drink. "Plus, I'm helping Magnum with a case of his while he's helping me with a case of my own." she said as TC nodded.
"Right, Thomas told us about your murder case. If there's anything you need us to do. Just ask." He said making Magnum put his hand on his own chest in mock hurt, "Ouch TC, I'm hurt." he sarcastically said as they all laugh
Ellie sat down on a bar stool, "Yeah, being a field agent is way better than being cooped up analyzing chatter." she said as they all nodded in agreement.
NOTE: That's it for this story. I hope you enjoyed it.
