A/N: Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Thanks for reading! Please review.

Enjoy!

The car stopped, but Kurt didn't make a move to leave it. He looked at Blaine who had his eyes focused on the building in front of him. "God, how I miss this place." Blaine half-whispered. He finally looked at Kurt and smiled sadly. "At least you're still here and you're safe. That's the most important thing."

Kurt couldn't return the smile. He wasn't so happy anymore. He wanted to tell him, that he was important too, but he kept his mouth shut and just stared at the beautiful boy in front of him. What was the point of going to Dalton when Blaine wasn't there with him anymore? Of course he knew that it was about his safely, but Dalton seemed to lack something without a certain curly-haired boy. "Well, I think it's time for me to go. I still have to talk to Luke and it's getting late." He sighed."Ugh, I would like to stay friends with him, but I don't think that he would be able to keep his feelings aside. I don't expect him to do that, because that just wouldn't be fair to him, but I don't want him to suffer. I don't know how deep Luke's feelings are, but-"

"Hey, look at me, Kurt." He did as he was told, and their eyes met. Blaine cupped Kurt's cheek and smiled at him softly. "Just be gentle and honest with him, okay?" Kurt nodded his head. Blaine leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Kurt's neck. Kurt wrapped his own around Blaine's waist awkwardly. It was a little uncomfortable to hug in the car, but Kurt would never complain about having Blaine in his arms. When they pulled apart Blaine pressed his lips to Kurt's cheek quickly. "Please, visit me soon. I'm bored out of my mind and I would really appreciate some company. My dad is always at work, and when he's not it's a little awkward."

"I promise I will visit you as soon as possible." Kurt said. He lifted up Blaine's hand to his mouth and kissed his knuckles. "See you soon, Blaine." He excited the car and closed the door. Blaine pulled out of the parking lot and his car disappeared into the darkness. Kurt sighed and started making his way to the huge building.

As soon as he pushed the door open he noticed a boy sitting on the chair in the corner of the hall. Kurt immediately recognized him. Luke's eyes were downcast and he seemed really nervous. Although Kurt was late, as soon as Luke's eyes met his, a huge, blinding smile formed on his lips. Kurt smiled weakly back and took a few steps forward to the boy.

"Hi, Luke." Kurt greeted him unbuttoning his coat. "I'm really sorry for being late, but I couldn't make it faster. Maybe we could go to the library to talk?" Kurt asked hopefully.

Luke nodded his head standing up from the chair. "Yeah, sure." Suddenly he grabbed Kurt's hand and led him down the corridor and up the stairs. Kurt looked down at their joined hands. All he could think about was how much he wanted it to be Blaine's hand instead of Luke's.

They entered the library and the room was thankfully mostly empty. There was just an old lady sitting at the desk. When they passed her, she glanced at their joined hands, but didn't say anything. Luke led him to the table with two chairs and they sat down opposite each other. "How are you, Kurt?" Luke asked. "Still so tired from all the learning?"

"Yeah, and the practices are exhausting too." Kurt said. "As you probably know Blaine's gone and it's difficult to make our newly chosen songs sound like we've been practicing them for weeks instead of days." Luke nodded his head. Kurt took a deep breath. He couldn't back out now. Luke was sitting in front of him and he had to tell him about his intentions. "Luke, we need to talk."

"That's what we're here for, right?" The green-eyed boy asked. "To talk?"

"Of course." Kurt said trying to find a good, not painful and cruel way to tell him that they couldn't be together. He couldn't just say 'I'm sorry, but I've always been and always will be in love with Blaine'. That would be a little too much. "We're friends, aren't we?" Luke raised his eyebrow, but nodded his head prompting the blue-eyed boy to continue. "And I would like it to stay that way." Luke's face fell as soon as the words left Kurt's mouth. Kurt wanted to reach out his hand and hold Luke's, provide some comfort, but he knew that it wasn't what the other boy needed now. He needed honesty. He deserved that.

"It is because of him, isn't it?" Luke asked running his hand though his hair. "It has always been him." He stood up and stormed out of the room. Kurt didn't even try to stop him. Luke obviously needed some time to process everything.

"One more time, then we can all get the hell out of here.'' Wes said wiping sweat from his forehead. Kurt loosened his tie and unbuttoned his blazer. After two hours of practicing he didn't care about his appearance anymore. He just wanted to collapse into his bed and sleep preferably forever. Kurt returned to his original spot beside Jeff and Trent, and waited for Zack to start singing. When the blond boy started his song, the rest of the Warblers followed the suit. They started dancing and humming trying to make Zack's voice even more powerful.

When the song was over, Wes announced that they all could go to their dorms and get some rest. Kurt was incredibly grateful for that. He immediately took a bottle of water out of his bag and took a long sip. He sat down on the couch to catch his breath.

The common room was emptying. Most of the boys looked like they were about to pass out. Only Zack and Ryan had smiles plastered to their faces. They would sing Firework together and Zack would sing Fireflies on his own. Kurt wasn't really surprised that he had two songs since he claimed that he had been practicing these two songs for a couple of weeks, but he didn't want to be just a background for him. Well, there was nothing he could do, because they had no time to start practicing another song, so he just had to accept the fact that it wasn't Kurt Hummel's time to shine on the stage.

Most of the boys left the room, so Kurt was almost alone. Almost. In the corner of the room (where he was most of the time during their practices these days) was Sebastian Smythe. He was sitting on the couch and reading some papers. Kurt wasn't surprised that he preferred to stay there than go somewhere else. After finding out about Blaine's pregnancy and that it was a reason he and Sebastian weren't together anymore, the boys showed that they fully supported Blaine and didn't want to have anything to do with Sebastian. Kurt understood them. Hell, he thought that Sebastian deserved all of that, but he wasn't his old self anymore. Maybe he was finally starting to see what he had done to his ex-boyfriend?

There was just one way to find out. Kurt reluctantly stood up from the couch and walked over to where Sebastian had been sitting for the last couple of minutes. The other boy kept staring at his papers. Kurt didn't know how to begin a conversation, so he decided to just get to the point right away.

"Maybe it's the time to finally apologize to him." That got Sebastian's attention. The green-eyed boy looked up at Kurt. His lips were pressed together in a firm line and his eyes were cold. Well, it wasn't something unusual, but his eyes weren't usually...empty and lifeless.

"What are you talking about?" Sebastian asked, clearly annoyed. "Listen to me, Hummel. I don't have the time to talk to you."

Kurt rolled his eyes. "Aren't you even interested in Blaine's well being? He is carrying your baby for God's sake!" Kurt was losing it. He just couldn't understand why Sebastian didn't care about Blaine at all. "You were his boyfriend for what, a year? Doesn't he mean anything to you now?"

Sebastian kept staring past Kurt. He had no idea what was happening inside of his head. "God, Kurt! You really don't understand, do you?" He snapped finally making eye contact with Kurt. "You don't know how it is like to have to impress your parents all the damn time! Nothing is ever good enough for them." He stood up from the sofa tossing the papers all around him. "I hate my life!" He screamed. "If something bad happens to you, you can always go home and let your parents kiss it better! I can't." Sebastian's face was red. Kurt was getting scared. "My parents are always busy. We can't even have a family dinner, because they like to invite their clients to eat with us."

Kurt stood motionlessly for a couple of minutes waiting for Sebastian to calm down. When the other boy's breathing finally returned to normal and he sat back down on the couch Kurt started speaking. "I'm sorry that your parents don't have time for you, but Blaine's life isn't easy either. Your problems with parents give you no right to just leave him when he needs you the most." For a moment Kurt thought that Sebastian was finally coming to his senses, but he only laughed darkly as he once again stood up from the sofa.

Sebastian took a few steps forward and now he was so close to Kurt that the blue-eyed boy could feel his warm breath on his skin. "Don't try to talk to me like that ever again. This is my life and I don't need your help, pity or whatever it is." Kurt was really afraid now. Sebastian's eyes were dark and wild.

"Is there a problem?" Kurt had never been more relieved to hear Jeff's voice. Sebastian immediately backed away and started packing up his papers. Kurt turned around to see Jeff in the doorway with a couple of books in his hands.

"It's fine." He said, but it couldn't possibly sound convincing. Jeff raised his eyebrows and looked at Sebastian.

"Are you sure?" Jeff asked not taking his eyes off Sebastian. "Because it seemed like something serious."

"Really, Jeff. It's fine." Kurt said picking up his bag. "I was just going to go to my dorm." He left the room, but Jeff immediately followed the suit.

"What were you talking about?" He asked trying to keep up with Kurt's quick step.

"Uh, I was trying to get him to apologize to Blaine, but he doesn't want to cooperate." Kurt said.

"He's an asshole for doing that to Blaine."

"He is." Kurt agreed, but he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to that. Maybe it was true, and Sebastian just didn't want to let his parents down. Kurt could understand that, but it still didn't give him the right to leave Blaine. "I don't want to talk about Sebastian right now." Kurt said to Jeff who was looking at him expectantly. "It's Friday. I'm about to see my family. I haven't seen them for two weeks. I miss them and I don't need Sebastian to preoccupy my mind."

"I get it." The blond boy said gripping his books tightly. "I even think that we should kick him out of the Warblers, but Wes keeps saying that we need his voice. Bullshit. We can do well without his screeching voice."

Kurt laughed. "Actually, I haven't heard him sing, but he has to be good if he's in the Warblers."

Jeff rolled his eyes. "Yeah, he's not horrible, but he hardly ever sings, so I don't know why we even bother with him."

They entered their dorm and Kurt put his bag down on the bed. Jeff did the same with his books. "Why do you need all of these books?" Kurt asked. He walked over to his closet and opened it looking for some clothes to put on. He was slowly starting to hate the uniform.

Jeff groaned. "I'm staying here this weekend, and since almost all of you are gone, I have to somehow kill the time." Kurt nodded his head, took the clothes and went to the bathroom locking the door behind himself.

One hour later Kurt was all ready to go. After a quick good-bye with Jeff he put on his coat, took his bag full of clothes and other necessary things, left his dorm and started walking down the hallway. When he was walking down the stairs he noticed a mop of blond curls. He immediately knew who it was. Their eyes locked for a brief moment, but Luke quickly looked away. It was clear that he was still recovering from their sort-of-break-up.

Kurt was a little sad that it all ended like that, and he was aware that it was his fault, but he couldn't fool this poor boy anymore. Maybe he should have told him that a little differently.

No, Kurt couldn't have been gentler with Luke. He excited the building and walked down the path to the parking lot. Finn's car was already parked, which Kurt was thankful for. It was freezing outside. Kurt walked over to the car, opened the back door and tossed his back in the back seat, before climbing into the passenger seat.

"Hello, Finn." He greeted his step-brother buckling up.

"Hi, Kurt." Finn said starting the engine. "I'm glad you're coming home for at least a weekend. It's boring without you."

"Me too." Kurt said resting his head against the backrest. He breathed in the smell of freshener and smiled. Finn turned on the radio and the sound of some Taylor Swift's song filled the car. "How is my dad doing?" Kurt was going to ask his father anyway, but he preferred to hear first Finn's version.

"He's fine. Carole cooks that healthy food every single day and Burt loves her too much to refuse." Finn answered glancing at Kurt. "Really, you have nothing to worry about." He paused for a moment. "How are you doing? Is Dalton really that great school or is that whole no bullying policy just a smoke and mirrors?"

"Well, I can't say that everyone there is open to gay people, but at least they stay quiet." Kurt said. "Dalton is a good school. Yes, classes are harder and teachers think that we don't have social lives, so they give us a lot of homework, but I don't have any troubles because of my sexuality."

"And what about Blaine?" Finn asked winking at him. "Is he still with that guy?"

Kurt smiled a little. "No." He didn't say more. His smile was probably enough for Finn.

As soon as Kurt entered the house an amazing smell filled his nostrils and he dropped his bag. He quickly put off his coat and shoes and went to the kitchen where Carole was making diner with an apron tied around her waist. She turned around and smiled brightly at her step-stop. "Hello, sweetheart." Carole said walking over to him. She pulled him into a bone-crushing hug. "It's so good to see you home again. We all miss you so much!" She kissed Kurt's cheek and finally pulled away.

"It's good to see you too, Carole. " Kurt said looking around the kitchen. "Do you need any help?"

Carole waved her hand. "Dinner's almost ready. You don't have to do anything. Go say hi to your dad. He's going crazy from missing you." Kurt smiled softly at Carole and excited the kitchen. He could hear the sounds coming from the TV, so he assumed that his dad was in the living room. His suspicion was confirmed when Kurt saw his father sitting on the sofa. When Burt Hummel noticed his son, he stood up and pulled him into a hug.

"How are ya, kiddo?" He asked pulling away. "You should call your old man more often."

"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry about that." Kurt said sadly. He really was sorry for not calling his father as often as he would like.

"What's wrong, Kurt?" He raised his eyebrows. He had no idea what his father was talking about. "I know you, Kurt. You're different. Something must have happened. You can fool whoever you want, but I'm your father and I know you."

Kurt smiled a little. It was nice to know that his dad knew him that well. "Nothing bad, dad. It's actually a good thing." Kurt said looking straight into his father's eyes. "Do you remember that boy who-"

Burt didn't let him finish the sentence. "It is about the boy?" Kurt nodded his head hesitantly. "Let's sit down." They sat down on the couch side by side. Kurt was a little afraid of his dad's strange behavior. "Kurt," He started seriously. "Do you need me to give you that talk?"

Kurt immediately shook his head blushing. "God, no! Save it for later." He quickly said. "It's not like that. Me and Blaine...we aren't even officially together. For now we are just friends. We're just trying to find out if we're good together." Burt nodded his head. "This is awkward." Kurt mumbled under his breath.

"A little." His dad said. "So, who is this boy?"

"It's Blaine." Kurt said playing with the material of his shirt. "You haven't met him yet, and it might be difficult for a while, because Blaine has to figure out a couple of things on his own, but I'm willing to wait for him." He smiled. "He's worth it."

"If you are sure." Burt said. "But be careful. I don't want my son to get hurt because of some boy."

"He's not just some boy, dad." Kurt said looking up at his father. "He wouldn't break my heart. I know that."

Kurt pushed the door open and entered his room. Everything still looked exactly the same. His bed was made and everything was in its place. He smiled as he sat down on his bed and looked at the picture of him and his mother taken a couple of months before her dead. Kurt missed her. He missed all of this. All these little pieces of his life and personality.

Besides his own bed was way more comfortable than the bed in his dorm. Kurt lied down on it and looked up at the ceiling. He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and sent a text message to Blaine.

Can I come over tomorrow? -Kurt

The response came only a couple of seconds later.

Of course. You're always welcome here. -Blaine

That's great! Expect me at your doorstep around six . -Kurt

Can't wait to see you :) -Blaine

Kurt set the phone on his bedside table. He couldn't wait to kiss Blaine. He knew that it wasn't an option yet, but he was allowed to dream, right? Kurt closed his eyes trying to picture Blaine's beautiful face. He just had to wait one day and then they would able to see each other.

Kurt wondered if Blaine missed him too. Was it too early to miss someone as much as Kurt did? Probably yes, but Kurt didn't care. He was happy to finally know that his feelings were reciprocated.

The next day, exactly at six PM Kurt knocked on the door to Andersons' house. Well, it was more a mansion than a house, but it didn't matter. A few minutes later the door swung open, and Kurt was met with a pair of blue eyes. Kurt almost took a step back. Almost.

That man looked like Blaine's older version; only his eyes were blue. He must be Mr. Anderson. Kurt swallowed hard and forced a smile to his face. "Hello, Mr. Anderson."

"Hello." The dark-haired man eyed him up and down. "Come inside." He stepped aside to let Kurt enter the house. Even though he wasn't there for the first time, Kurt was overwhelmed by the size of the house and amount of...well, everything. There was expensive-looking carpet on the wooden floor and there were a lot of paintings on the walls.

Kurt put off his coat and Mr. Anderson immediately took it from him and hung up. "Are you by any chance Sebastian Smythe?"

"No." Kurt said standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.

"I thought so. It's a shame though. I would like to have a word with him." Mr. Anderson said.

"I'm not surprised." Kurt said honestly. He was shocked that this man hadn't talked to Sebastian yet.

"If you're not my son's ex-boyfriend, then who are you?"

I'm his current boyfriend he wanted to say, but stopped himself from making this mistake. "My name is Kurt Hummel. I am Blaine's friend from school."

"He's upstairs in his room." Mr. Anderson said. "Make yourself home." Kurt nodded his head and climbed up the stairs. He walked down the short hallway and stopped in front of door to Blaine's bedroom.

He knocked on it and immediately heard Blaine's voice. "Come in." Kurt opened the door and peeked inside. The room looked the same. In the corner of the room was old-looking guitar and next it was a keyboard. Next to Blaine's bed was a bookshelf full of books. Blaine was sitting on his bed with a book in his lap. When he noticed Kurt he smiled. "Hi."

"Hi." Kurt said closing the door. "It seems like you dad wants to kick Sebastian's ass." He sat next down to Blaine on the bed.

"I understand him. Sometimes I want to do that too." Blaine chuckled and set the book down on the bed. He reached out his hand and took Kurt's hand in his. "How are you?" He asked softly.

"I'm not the one sitting all day long at home." Kurt said. "But I'm okay."

"What about the Warblers?" Kurt rolled his eyes. "What?" Blaine asked laughing a little.

"Zack is going to sing both of the songs and all the rest have to hum and sway in the background." Kurt said frustrated.

"When I was the lead soloist it was the same." Blaine said squeezing Kurt's hand. "What's the difference?"

"First of all: Your voice is way better and stronger and I still think that we have no chance to win without you and secondly..." Kurt paused for a moment. "I miss you. We all miss you."

Blaine smiled sadly at Kurt. "I miss you too." He moved closer to Kurt and put his arm around his body pushing him down on the bed. Kurt obediently lied down next to Blaine enjoying the warm of his body. Blaine rested his head on Kurt's chest and sighed. "Stay with me like this for a moment. When I can listen to your heart it reminds me that I'm alive and even though I'm frozen here, everything else keeps going."

Kurt ran his hand though Blaine's ungelled hair. "I like your hair like this. Without gel."

"You can't be serious." Blaine said. "At my old school I was teased because of my wild curls. It was just another reason to mock me and make my life a living hell. Then, when I transferred to Dalton I decided that I was done with being that scared little boy, so I started gelling my hair down, so it looked a little like a helmet. I liked that because I felt safer."

"You hair is amazing. You shouldn't hide it." Kurt said rubbing Blaine's back with his free hand. "What about school?"

"My mom's coming home tomorrow. We're going to all sit down and talk about it then." Blaine paused for a while. "She still doesn't know anything." He sighed. "I know she will support me, but I'm still a little bit afraid of telling her, you know?"

"You're over thinking everything, Blaine." Kurt said softly. "Don't think about it too much."

"You're probably right."

"Of course I'm right! I'm always right. You should get used to it." Kurt teased. "And how's your little one is doing?"

"Fine, I guess." Blaine said. ''Although almost every morning first thing I do is run to the toilet to puke. It's not nice."

They stayed like that in silence just enjoying each other's presence. Kurt couldn't believe that he had this amazing man in his arms. He had no intention of letting go now. "Blaine?"

"Mmm?" It was clear that Blaine was about to drift off to sleep.

"Are you going to see our performance next week? That would mean a lot to me and to everyone else too. These guys really miss you." Kurt asked hopefully.

"Maybe." Blaine said. He was much more awake now.

"I would take you out for a nice dinner afterwards. If you want to." Kurt asked smirking.

"That sounds better." Blaine said raising his head a little to look at Kurt.

"We've known each other for some time now, but it still feels like I don't know anything about mysterious Blaine Anderson." Kurt said.

Blaine rolled his eyes. "Oh, please. Most of the people can read me like an open book."

"But I don't even know what your favorite color is." Kurt argued. "Or your favorite season." Blaine opened his mouth to answer, but Kurt put his finger to his lips. "Shh, don't say anything yet. Let's wait until our date."

"I can't wait.'' Blaine said putting his head back on his chest. He closed his eyes. Less than twenty minutes later both boys were fast sleep.
