"Kurt?" The blue-eyed boy looked up from his homework that he wanted to get over with as soon as he could to look at his boyfriend who was sitting on his bed with a book in his lap and a soft smile on his lips. It was Christmas Eve and the boys didn't want to part yet even though it was supposed to be family time.

"Yeah?"

"What's your biggest dream?" Kurt rolled his eyes. He couldn't believe that Blaine didn't remember. "Besides Broadway, of course." Blaine added. "Something smaller, but not less important to you."

Kurt thought about it for a moment, but as soon as he looked straight into Blaine's honey-colored eyes he knew what his dream was. He stood up leaving his books on Blaine's desk and sat down next to the dark-hired boy. Kurt took Blaine's warm hands into his still looking into his eyes. "I want to be able to walk around the city holding another's man hand without worrying that someone might hurt me for that." He said softly. "And more precisely I want it to be your hand." Blaine blushed slightly, but smiled. "What about you? Everyone knows you want to be a performer, but is there a dream that no one knows about?"

Blaine looked down at their joined hands and then back up at Kurt's face. "I just don't want to be alone ever again. I still remember the time when I came out at my old school and I don't want to feel like that again." Blaine said sadly. "Even if I become famous someday, which is doubtful," Kurt shot him a glare. "What? I'm being realistic. Anyway, even if I become famous, international superstar, I want to share it all with someone, 'cause I believe that you can't be truly happy if you have no one by your side."

Kurt watched for a moment Blaine's sad smile, but then he took the younger boy into his arms and let Blaine's head drop on his shoulder. "I'm sorry that you had to go through so much." He said into Blaine's ungelled hair. His heart ached for Blaine. "I promise to you that you'll never be alone again."

"Thank you." Blaine whispered. "It means so much to me to know that so many people care about me. You, guys at Dalton and my parents." Something at the mention of his old school changed in Blaine's face and he looked down at his hands as they pulled away.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Kurt asked, concerned. He lifted up his hand and rubbed Blaine's cheek with his thumb. Blaine smiled slightly and covered Kurt's hand with his.

"My parents...they don't have enough money to get me a private tutor or send me to another private school where I would be safe from the bullies, so right after Christmas break I'm transferring to a public school, to McKinley." Kurt's mouth fell open. He couldn't believe that his sweet boyfriend had to face all of his fears despite his will. "It's only temporary, but..." A tear fell down his cheek and Kurt quickly wiped it away with his thumb knowing that it was one of many. "I'm so scared, Kurt." He said shakily. "How can I feel safe there if I have a tiny baby to protect too?" Blaine hid his face in his hands and his shoulders started shaking as he started sobbing. "W-why does my life has to be so hard and complicated, Kurt? Why?"

Kurt rested his hand on Blaine's back and started rubbing comforting circles trying to calm the crying boy down, even though he knew that it was nearly impossible. "I can make my friends protect you, Blaine." He said softly, but Blaine didn't seem to hear him. Kurt wrapped his arms around him and Blaine gripped tightly his shirt crying loudly into his boyfriend's chest.

After a couple of minutes they lay down and Blaine kept crying into Kurt's shirt. The brown-hired boy tightened his hold on Blaine and just let him cry as much as he wanted. He didn't even care that his shirt was wet or that it was getting late and he probably should go home. Eventually Blaine stopped sobbing and his breath evened out. Kurt smiled sadly at his sleeping boyfriend and ran his hand through his curls.

Blaine's room was dark. There was just enough light to let them both read. Kurt's eyelids were heavy and he was ready to fall asleep with Blaine in his arms, but the door slowly opened letting the bright light from the hallway in. Kurt looked up to find Blaine's mother standing awkwardly in the doorway. "It's getting late, Kurt." She said quietly. "I think it's time for you to go home."

Kurt nodded his head and carefully rolled out of bed trying not to wake Blaine up. Ignoring Monic's piercing eyes he leaned down and kissed gently Blaine's forehead. Kurt straightened out his clothes and ran his hand though his messy hair and then packed up his books. He swung his bag over his shoulder and excited Blaine's room carefully closing the door behind himself.

Mrs. Anderson was standing right behind him with her hands crossed over her chest. "Can I ask you a question, Kurt?" Her voice wasn't unkind, but she wasn't the same, warm woman that Kurt met a couple of hours ago. Kurt nodded his head anyway trying to smile. "Are you and Blaine just friends or is it something more?"

Kurt bit his bottom lip not really knowing how to respond. Blaine should be the one to tell his mother about his new relationship, but it seemed like Monic already knew or would find out soon. "Um, we are boyfriends." Kurt said trying to hold back a smile. He still wasn't used to this word, but he loved hearing it.

Mrs. Anderson raised her eyebrows. "Are you aware of Blaine's extraordinary situation?"

"If you're asking me if I know that he is pregnant the answer is yes." Kurt said resigning the urge to roll his eyes. He was still a little shaken up after listening to a long speech about responsibilities from Wes and he wasn't in a mood to hear all that again.

"Would you like to have a coffee with me?" She asked. Kurt just nodded knowing that it was better to just get it over with. He followed Monic downstairs and into the living room. Monic told him to have a seat and left to make a coffee for them. Kurt usually didn't drink coffee that late unless he had to study, because he had trouble sleeping after that, but he knew that it was important conversation for Blaine's mother and he didn't want to cause trouble by making a fuss over coffee.

Less than five minutes later Monic reentered the room and sat down on the sofa next to Kurt. She set one of the mugs on the coffee table in front of Kurt and crossed her legs. "So Kurt, how long have you known my son?" She asked taking a sip of her own drink.

"We met at the beginning of the school year, ma'am." Kurt said politely trying to show her that he was kind, mature and whatever else she wanted to see in him. "We've been close since then."

"I don't want to seem rude, Kurt, but..." Monic began carefully. "Do you know what you are getting yourself into? From what I know it hasn't been long since my son broke up with Sebastian and I know from my own experiences that it takes a lot of time, more than a couple of weeks to get over someone."

"I believe that Blaine knows what he's doing." Kurt said confidently.

Monic looked at her hands and sighed before looking back at Kurt. "I refuse to believe that you know what you're doing, Kurt." She paused for a moment setting her mug on the coffee table. "Blaine's going through a lot and I don't want him to end up heartbroken. Look, if he cares about you as much as you seem to think he does then you should sort out your feelings before you hurt him."

"Mrs. Anderson..." Kurt said looking straight into these familiar hazel eyes. "I've been in love with your son ever since I laid my eyes on him." Kurt smiled at the memory of their first meeting. "At first he wouldn't let me in. I was only allowed to see that charming, wise dapper Blaine with good advices and everything. He helped me fight off my demons and only then, when he was sure that I was safe he let me see the other side of him. I finally saw a scared, vulnerable, insecure boy. And even after seeing all his flaws I was still sure that I had fallen for him." Kurt stopped for a second not breaking eye-contact with Mrs. Anderson. "I know that having a boyfriend with a baby on the way it's not going to be easy, but I'm willing to take a risk, because Blaine's worth it." Kurt watched carefully Monic's face searching for any change, but there was none. "I know you probably don't trust me, and I'm not surprised. Blaine has been through so much and he deserves better. I hope I can be good enough for him."

Monic's face finally softened. "I'm glad Blaine has someone like you in his life." She said. "He needs people who support him. Just please, don't break his heart, okay?"

"Okay." Kurt said smiling softly.

Monic smiled back at him, but seconds later the smile was gone and she looked sad and worried. "I still can't stand the thought that we have to send him back to the public school. I know how scared he is."

"He's terrified." Kurt said, his smile also gone now. "I'm terrified too, to be honest." He admitted sighing. "But I have friends at McKinley. They will protect Blaine if I ask them to. There's also my stepbrother. I know from my own experience that McKinley is not the best place for people like Blaine, like us, but I will do anything in my power to protect Blaine."

"Thank you, Kurt." Monic said softly. She looked at her wristwatch before looking back at Kurt. "I know it's getting late, but if your parents don't mind could you stay for an hour longer? I have to pick up Cooper from the airport and I don't want Blaine to wake up in the empty house."

Kurt knew that his father wouldn't be happy about it, since it was nearing 8 PM, but Kurt needed to make sure that his boyfriend was okay, so he agreed. Monic gathered her car keys and purse before leaving the house. Kurt walked up the stairs and entered Blaine's room to find Blaine still in his previous position. He carefully jumped under the covers and wrapped his arms around the dark-hired boy's sleeping form. He looked at the boy wrapped up in his arms and pulled him even closer.

Only then he realized that he probably should send his dad a text saying that he would be home late. He pulled his cell phone out of his back pocket as carefully as he could, sent the text and placed the phone on the nightstand not wanting to wake Blaine up because of his sudden movements.

He watched as Blaine breathed steadily, his chest raising and falling peacefully. At least in his sleep, the younger boy looked carefree and happy. Kurt ran his fingers through his almost black curls enjoying the lack of hair gel. Without it Blaine looked much younger and it made Kurt want to protect him even more. Eventually, Blaine started stirring and blinked his eyes open. He smiled as he noticed that Kurt was still there with him and snuggled closer to his side.

"Watching someone sleep is creepy, you know?" He said sleepily.

"Do you want me to leave then?"

"Nah, you can stay. You're warm, comfy and nice in touch."

"Nice to know that you like me as your pillow."

Blaine chuckled turning his big, hazel eyes at him. "Thank you for staying with me, Kurt."

Kurt squeezed him tighter. "You're welcome. I like having you so close to me." He paused for a moment. "Are you feeling better?"

The playful smile disappeared, but Blaine nodded his head. "Yeah, what time is it?"

"Past eight."

Blaine's eyes widened in surprise. "Shouldn't you be heading home? What about your dad? And my mom?"

"I needed to make sure that you were okay." Kurt said truthfully. "My dad knows that I'm staying here for a while longer and your mom is at the airport picking up your brother."

Blaine nodded his head. "Good." They were silent for a moment until they heard rumbling coming from Blaine's stomach. The dark-hired boy's cheeks flushed bright red. "Uh, I guess I'm hungry."

"Me too." Kurt admitted.

"Maybe we could cook something together? For us and for my mother and Cooper. Then we could eat together when they come home."

"Sounds good." Kurt said, but then he bit his lip. He didn't want to disturb their family time. "Are you sure that you want me to stay for dinner? I'm not a family and I haven't met your dad yet."

"My father is doing God-knows-what in Cincinnati. Some important meeting I guess and my brother would be pleased to finally meet you." Blaine said smiling brightly. "I don't know about my mother, but I guess she would like to get to know you better. Maybe I could introduce you officially as my boyfriend. I just hope she won't freak out."

Kurt bit his lip again (a nervous habit that he was so ashamed of) and looked away. "You're hiding something." Blaine said. "What is it?"

There was no point in lying. Kurt just hoped that Blaine wouldn't be mad at him for telling his mother about their fresh relationship. "Your mom already knows. She came to your room while we were lying in bed together. She assumed it and we talked about everything. Then she let me stay with you a little longer. I guess she likes me."

Blaine's eyes widened even more, but at the end of Kurt's short speech he smiled and ran his hand through Kurt's brown hair. "I'm glad that you think so. My mom is sometimes overprotective, especially now, but she's a lovely woman."

"I know." Kurt said brushing Blaine's cheek with his hand. "She loves you very much, you know?"

"I do." Then Blaine sighed and pulled away from Kurt's embrace. The older boy groaned as soon as Blaine's body was out of his arms. "I'm hungry, Kurt. The baby needs to eat." He rolled out of bed and straightened out his clothes. Kurt did the same and waited for Blaine as he went to the bathroom connected to his room to wash his face and use the toilet and then followed him to the kitchen downstairs.

Blaine opened the fridge and together they decided to make a roast chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. They started cooking, bumping into each other from time to time (even though the kitchen was big enough to contain five people). It took them some time, but eventually the chicken was in the over and everything was almost ready. They sat on the stools and chatted about their Christmas traditions until they heard the voices coming from the hallway. Blaine immediately got on his feet and basically ran to the hallway. Kurt followed him, but stayed behind not wanting to break Blaine's important moment.

When Kurt noticed the handsome, tall young man his jaw dropped open. Blaine's older brother was really hot. Blaine threw himself at him smiling happily as the older man wrapped his arms protectively around his shoulders. Kurt leaned against the wall watching the whole scene with a soft smile gracing his lips.

"It's so good to see you, Coop." Blaine said as they pulled away.

"You too, Squirt." He said ruffling Blaine's curls. "Finally! That gel is disgusting."

"Uh, and for a moment I was happy to see you. Thanks for screwing this up, Coop." Blaine said crossing his arms over his chest in false annoyance.

Cooper was about to say something, if his open mouth was anything to go by, but then his gaze landed on Kurt. His blue eyes sparkled curiously as he looked Kurt up and down. "So this is the boyfriend."It wasn't a question. "Really nice, Blaine. Even while pregnant you know how to woo the hottest guys. I'm proud of you." He wrapped his arm around Blaine's shoulder still looking at Kurt.

"I see that I have to do the introducing." Blaine said. "Kurt, this is my older, childish brother Cooper. Coop, this is my amazing boyfriend Kurt."

"How is that he gets amazing and I get childish?" Cooper asked turning his eyes to Blaine. "Don't forget who is the best at scaring away the monsters from your closet, Blainey." The dark-hired boy just rolled his eyes ignoring Cooper's words. The blue-eyed man reached out his hand and shook firmly Kurt's. "Pleasant to finally meet you." He said smiling brightly.

"Ahem." The three sets of eyes turned to look at the short, dark-hired woman. "What do you want to eat for dinner, boys? Really late dinner." She added.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about it mom." Blaine said. "We have already taken care of that. Everything is ready. We can eat."

"Always such a boot-licker." Cooper said once again ruffling Blaine's hair and gaining a playful punch on the shoulder.

They ate the dinner chatting happily about everything and nothing. Cooper kept telling embarrassing stories from Blaine's childhood receiving in return kicks from him. Kurt watched the brothers with a soft smile wishing that Blaine could be always as carefree as he was in that moment.

When they ate the dinner, Kurt volunteered to do the dishes, but Cooper just rolled his eyes and muttered "Another boot-licker."

"It's okay. I can take care of that." Monic said. "You should go home, Kurt."

Kurt nodded his head, thanked Monic for having him and said a brief good-bye to Cooper. To his surprise the older man pulled him into a hug and whispered to his ear. "We still need to talk in private. One dinner doesn't make you good enough for my little brother." When he pulled away he smiled brightly at Kurt. "It was nice to meet you, Kurt."

"You too." Kurt muttered. He let Blaine take his hand and drag him to the hall. The dark-hired boy handed him his coat and scarf and watched as the older boy put his clothes on, all that while bouncing nervously on the balls of his feet. "Are you...nervous?" Kurt asked slightly amused.

Blaine's cheeks flushed red. "Well, kind of. I want to ask you something." Kurt raised his eyebrows as he buttoned his coat and put on his gloves. "Just feel free to say no. I don't want you to feel under pressure or anything. If you say no I will understand. Just-"

"Blaine," Kurt cut him off effectively silencing his boyfriend. He put his hands on Blaine's shoulders trying to calm him down. "Look at me, Blaine." The younger boy lifted his gaze finally looking into Kurt's eyes. "Whatever it is, just say it. I am very honest person and if I don't like it I will say so."

"In two weeks there's a doctor appointment," Blaine said slowly. "And I was wondering if you would like to go with me. You don't have to though."

Kurt smiled as he realized that Blaine wanted to share with him something as important to him, as doctor appointment where he would see his unborn child. "Of course I will go with you."

The hazel eyes shined with hope. "Really?" Kurt just nodded his head. "Thank you. It means so much to me." He wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist and kissed softly his lips. Kurt closed his eyes and happily kissed back. The kissed was delicate and didn't last long, but it left Kurt breathless anyway. He smiled dumbly as Blaine pulled away and watched a small form on his face.

"I really have to go now." Kurt said sadly. "See you soon."

"Drive safe and text me when you arrive home."

"Of course."

He pecked Blaine's lips one last time and left the house. As he was about to get in the car he turned around and saw a smiling face in the window. He wished he could stay there longer. Kurt finally got in the car and started the engine trying not to imagine his dad's anger directed at him for coming home so late.

When Kurt parked his car in front of the house he sat there for a couple of minutes wondering if his dad was awake or not. He probably couldn't sleep because of how worried about Kurt he was. The blue-eyed boy felt bad for coming home close to midnight the day before Christmas, but he didn't regret staying with Blaine's family. Eventually Kurt got out of the car and entered the house as quietly as he could just in case his father was actually asleep. He carefully pulled off his coat and took off his shoes and just as he was about to go through the dark corridor to go down the stairs he heard a click and a light illuminated the house.

Burt Hummel was standing in the doorway with arms folded and unreadable expression on his face. Kurt groaned, fully aware that the conversation with his dad would be difficult and unpleasant. "Good evening, son." Burt said, and his voice made a shiver run down Kurt's spine. "Thank you so much for finally gracing us with your presence."

"Dad..."

"Let's go to the living room. I don't like getting angry while standing." Kurt followed his father to the dark living room, where the only source of light was a TV. Burt switched the light on and turned off the television. Kurt sat on the couch and awkwardly crossed his legs. Burt slumped heavily next to him and looked straight into his eyes. "Care to explain to me now where have you been for the last couple of hours?"

"Right after lunch I drove to Blaine, we spent some time together, and then his mother asked me to stay with him, because she had to pick up Blaine's older brother. Then we all ate together and the time just flew by, I guess."

"You guess?" Kurt looked down, just wanting his dad to calm down. Burt sighed and put his hand on Kurt's shoulder. "Just don't do that again, okay? I know you are responsible, but I'm your father and I'm always going to worry about you, kid." Kurt looked up at his father and nodded his head. "But you're grounded anyway."

"You can't do that!" Kurt said remembering that he and Blaine were supposed to meet up right after Christmas to exchange their gifts and just spend some time together.

"I can and I will." Burt said firmly. "End of discussion."

"But I was supposed to go over to Blaine's on Monday" Kurt said, resigned.

"Then invite him over instead." Kurt frowned as he noticed that his dad was smiling. "I'm dying to meet the kid. You can invite him for a dinner on Monday if you so desperately want to be with him." Kurt blushed. "I have to see myself if the guy is good enough for you."

"Dad." Kurt said rolling his eyes. "Blaine's amazing."

"Let me be the judge of that."

"Just don't scare him away." Kurt pleaded knowing full well that his dad was going to do something dumb one way or another.

Kurt enjoyed the Christmas. For the first time since a very long time, the house didn't seem empty. Even though Finn woke up as soon as the sun rose, to which Kurt responded with throwing a pillow at him, he was happy to have his brother next to him. He was also happy that his dad had a loving woman at his side and he wasn't alone while Kurt was at Dalton.

They opened their presents in a family atmosphere sitting around the Christmas tree. Finn grinned like an idiot when he received some video game that Kurt didn't care to remember the name of. Carole was teary-eyed when Kurt handed her a handmade album of their whole, new family and Burt hugged his son as tight as he could when he got tickets for the game.

As soon as Kurt saw his gift, he sighed in relief. It was a gift card to his favorite clothes shop. He threw his arms around his dad thanking him for not buying anything useless like the last time.

"It was Carole's idea." He said glancing at his wife. "It's from both of us."

When the presents were unwrapped they ate the breakfast, happy that they could spend time together, us a family. Usually, Kurt was at Dalton, Burt had to work early in garage and sometimes Carole had an early shift, so it was only Finn at the breakfast table.

The rest of the day they spent lazing around the house, watching cheesy Christmas movies and playing cards. In the evening Kurt called Blaine to invite him over for a dinner and apologize to him for cancelling their previous plans. Blaine was a little hesitant at first, but eventually he agreed and they settled for Monday evening.

The next day they spent doing pretty much the same as the previous one. The only difference was that Kurt and his dad drove to the cemetery in the afternoon to visit Elizabeth. It was their tradition. Christmas was about family and even though Elizabeth wasn't with them anymore, she was and always would be their family.

When they were in front of Elizabeth's grave Burt wrapped his arm around Kurt while the brown-hired boy leaned his head on his dad's shoulder. They stood like that for a couple of minutes just staring at the grave imagining their life with Elizabeth in it. Then they returned home and ate dinner together.

In the morning Kurt felt happy that Blaine would come over later that day, but at the same time he was nervous. He knew that his dad would love Blaine, but he didn't want Burt to question him too much or made him feel uncomfortable. Kurt didn't want to tell his dad about Blaine's pregnancy, and he didn't think that Blaine wanted it either, because Burt surely would freak out and that would make everything even more complicated than it already was.

He helped Carole make dinner, chatting with her happily while doing so. Kurt really loved her. She would never replace his mom, but she was a fantastic woman and mother figure that Kurt so desperately needed. He told her a lot about Blaine. About their first meeting, about Kurt's broken heart when he heard that the dark-hired Warblers' lead singer was taken and how after his break-up they became closer. Kurt left out a couple of details not wanting to tell too much. Carole listened to him carefully and when he was finished she dropped her cookware and hugged her stepson tightly.

"I'm so happy for you, sweetheart. You deserve happiness." She said softly and Kurt noticed that her voice thick with emotions.

They finished cooking dinner talking about other things like shopping and Kurt's friends from Dalton. Just as Kurt was giving dessert the final touches the doorbell rang. Kurt happily walked to the door expecting to see behind them his beautiful boyfriend.

When he opened the door he was kind of confused. There was Blaine dressed in his coat and dark skinny jeans and with a ton of gel in his hair, but what surprised Kurt was the tall man standing next to the dark-hired boy. Cooper smiled brightly at Kurt and entered the house not waiting for an invitation. Blaine followed him smiling apolitically at Kurt.

"Hi." He said glancing at his older brother. "Sorry for bringing him along. He's very convincing when he wants to be." When Kurt raised his eyebrow questioningly, Blaine blushed slightly and rubbed his neck nervously. "Basically a lot of embarrassing pictures. I don't even know how he has a better half of them." He looked up into Kurt's eyes. "Anyway, I hope you don't mind."

"Of course I don't." Kurt said lifting up Blaine's chin and kissing his lips softly.

"You're disgusting." Cooper said covering his eyes. Kurt just smiled through the kiss and kept brushing his lips against Blaine's.

Of course Burt Hummel chose that moment to greet his guests. He cleared loudly his throat which was enough to pull the boys apart. Kurt's dad walked over to Blaine and shook firmly his hand. "You're my son's boyfriend, I assume?"

"Y-yes, Blaine Anderson, sir." He stuttered out. It was kind of cute, Kurt thought. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Burt eyed the dark-hired boy up and down and then his gaze landed on Blaine's older brother. "And you are...?"

"Cooper Anderson. Blaine's hot, famous brother." Blaine covered his face with his hands shaking his head. Kurt rolled his eyes not used to Cooper's behavior, even after spending the whole evening with him. Burt shook Cooper's hand while Blaine took off his coat.

"Nice to meet you two." Burt eventually said. "Even if it is slightly surprising." The last part was directed evidently to Cooper. The tall man just smiled sheepishly and wrapped his arm loosely around Blaine's shoulders. "Dinner's almost ready. Let's sit in the dining room." The trio followed Burt to the dining room where the dishes were already on the table. Everything smelled amazing making Kurt incredibly proud of his work with Carole. They sat at the table, Blaine between Kurt and Cooper, and Burt opposite Blaine. Seconds later they heard loud footsteps announcing Finn's arrival.

The tall teenager barely said hi to Blaine and Cooper, more focused on the delicious food in front of his eyes than the guests. Then Carole emerged from the kitchen holding the bowl of salad in her hands. She set it down on the table and sat on the chair next to her husband. "You must be Blaine." She said to the dark-hired boy holding out her hand. "It's nice to meet you, honey. My name is Carole. I'm Kurt's step-mom."

Blaine smiled at her brightly. "Nice to meet you too." Then he gestured at Cooper. "And this is my big brother, Cooper."

"Well, I'm glad to have both of you here tonight. Oh, I hope you're not allergic to any of the food here." Blaine and Cooper assured her that they were not allergic to anything and then they all started to eat.

When Carole went to the kitchen with Finn to bring the dessert Burt turned his attention to Blaine. "So, Blaine, you're at Dalton with my son, right?"

Blaine visibly saddened at the mention of his own school, but Kurt was sure that no one noticed the slight change in the curly-hired teenager's eyes beside him. The charming smile was still in its place only now it seemed forced. "Actually, I'm not anymore. Right after Christmas I'm transferring to McKinley High."

"Seriously?" Finn asked as he reentered the room, unaware that it was really awkward and uncomfortable for Blaine.

"Um, yeah." Blaine said looking down at his empty plate. Kurt grabbed his hand under the table and smiled at him reassuringly when their gazes met.

"May I ask why?" Burt asked. Blaine opened his mouth and closed a couple of times, but then Carole returned from the kitchen holding an apple pie. She set the cake down in the middle of the table and Finn gave each of them a plate and fork. Kurt watched in amazement as Blaine's eyes almost popped out of his head at the sight of deliciously-looking cake in front of him. But then he looked up at noticed that Kurt's dad was still looking at him expectantly.

"This is really complicated, sir." Blaine said gripping Kurt's hand tightly.

"Troubles at school? Bad behavior?" Burt wondered.

"Dad!" Kurt hissed. "Blaine doesn't want to talk about it. Please, respect his decision."

Burt sighed rubbing his face. "Sorry, kid." He said to Blaine whose cheeks were pure red.

"There's nothing to apologize for." Blaine said smiling shyly at Kurt's dad. "I understand that you want to see if I'm good enough for your son, but uh, this is something that I would rather not talk about. Anyway, you'll find out sooner or later." He said shrugging. Burt raised his eyebrow looking at Kurt, but he just shook his head.

Cooper ruffed Blaine's hair. "That's my brother. Always so damn polite."

They started eating the apple pie and every pair of eyes turned to Blaine, when the boy moaned loudly in pleasure closing his eyes. When he opened them, his cheeks turned red once again. "The cake's great, Mrs. Hummel." He said when the silence became too much.

"It's Hummel-Hudson." Carole said smiling kindly."I'm flattered, but unfortunately I'm not that good at baking. It's Kurt's specialty."

It was Kurt's turn to blush. Blaine turned to Kurt and gripped his knee under the table. "Delicious cake, Kurt. You should give me the recipe. My mom's birthday is just around the corner and I have no idea what to buy her, so maybe the Kurt Hummel's apple pie would do." He said smiling at Kurt.

"Maybe." Kurt said and returned to eating his own piece.

When they finished eating dessert Burt and Carole with Cooper hot on their heels went to the living room to watch some movie. Blaine stood up and was about to go with them, but Kurt grabbed his wrist and twisted him around. The dark-hired boy smirked and wrapped his arms around Kurt's neck. "Finally." He whispered and leaned in for a kiss. Kurt immediately started kissing back, but quickly pulled away.

"We should exchange gifts now." Kurt said entwining his fingers with Blaine's. The younger boy took his small bag and followed his boyfriend downstairs to the basement. Blaine seemed a little surprised that Kurt lived in a basement, but didn't say anything. However as soon as Kurt opened the door Blaine's eyes went wide.

"Wow." He breathed out. "Your room is awesome."

Kurt smirked. "Of course it is." He liked to think that he had pretty amazing decorating skills.

"Do you want to open your gift first?" Blaine asked sitting down on Kurt's bed. The blue-eyed boy sat next to him and nodded his head enthusiastically. Blaine put his bag in his lap and pulled a small box out of it. "We went shopping together once and I saw how much you liked it. I hope you haven't bought it, because that would be really awkward." He handed Kurt the box blushing slightly.

Kurt opened the box and found a brown scarf inside. His jaw dropped open. He remembered seeing it in a shop, but it was very expensive. He looked up at Blaine and spoke up. "You shouldn't have bought me that. It's too expensive."

"You're worth it." He said grinning. "But I have something else." Blaine started searching for something in his bag once again. "I might have called Rachel to ask her what your favorite chocolates are. I hope you're not mad." He took out of the bag a box of chocolates and it truly was Kurt's favorite kind. "It's my way to say thank you. For being there for me when I needed someone. You're amazing."

Kurt grinned as he looked at the chocolates. He put the box aside and threw himself at Blaine. "You're the amazing one, Blaine. Thank you for these gifts. Now it's my turn." Kurt pulled away and walked over to his desk. He opened the top drawer and took out a much smaller box. He sat back down and handed Blaine the item. "It's not much, but I want you to remember when you are at McKinley that you have people who care about you and would do anything to protect you."

Blaine opened the box and held out the necklace with engraved word 'fearless' and a bracelet with a quote 'it takes courage to grow up and become who you truly are'. "You're incredible person, Blaine. Don't ever change for someone else." Kurt said softly.

Blaine put the two items down at rubbed his eyes. Only then Kurt noticed tears in his eyes. "Sorry." He said. "Stupid hormones." After a couple of seconds he calmed down and took Kurt's hands into his own. "Thank you, Kurt. I'm so grateful for having you at my side." Blaine said closing the gap between their lips. Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine's waist and started kissing back. When they were out of breath, they pulled away grinning at each other like two idiots in love they probably were.
