A/N: Hello everyone! I am so sorry for the delay. I'm not exactly happy with this chapter, but the next two are already planned out in my head so they should be better. I hope you enjoy it anyway. Please, leave a review.

Blaine was seated on the armchair by the window staring into the darkness of the night. He was dressed in his warm pajamas and wrapped in a soft blanket. The room was completely dark apart from the weak light coming from the glowing fireplace. It was almost midnight meaning that his parents were already asleep and Blaine should be too, but he couldn't find peace. It was the last day of his Christmas break and tomorrow Blaine would face his new reality.

He shouldn't be so nervous about it, because almost no one knew him at McKinley and Kurt's friends would look out for him. Blaine hated that he needed others to take care of him, but he knew that it was for the best. The little, innocent life growing inside of him was too precious to risk loosing it.

"Blaine? What are you doing up so late?" Blaine looked to his right towards the door where his mother was surely standing. It was too dark to see her facial features, but judging from her voice she was worried.

"I can't sleep." Blaine admitted wrapping the blanket even tighter around his body. Monic slowly made her way to the centre of the room and sat down on the sofa.

"Are you nervous?" His mother asked running her fingers through her long hair. Blaine stared into what he assumed were her eyes (it was really hard to tell in the darkness) for a moment before he nodded his head.

"Oh, honey." Monic immediately stood up from the sofa and sat on the armchair next to her son. They were both rather small people, so even though it was a little tight to be so close to each other it was also very nice. Monic kissed Blaine's hair and took him into her arms. "You're going to be okay, Blaine. It's just a school. If something happens we will figure something out, okay?"

"Okay." Blaine said enjoying being in his mother's embrace. His parents were busy most of the time, so moments like these were really rare. "I just don't want to be afraid anymore. I keep telling people to have courage, but I don't have it myself." Blaine said sadly.

Monic sighed. "Don't talk about yourself like that, Blaine. You're the bravest person I know."

"Do you really think so, or are you saying that just to make me feel better about myself?" Blaine asked not believing that someone like him could be considered as courageous.

"Believe me, Blaine. Not many people are brave enough to face their demons. I know that you don't have a choice, but trust me, you could just lock yourself in your bedroom and cry." Monic tightened her hold on her son and kissed gently his forehead. "But you're my son, and my son is a strong person who is willing to go back to a public school."

Blaine thought about it for a moment and chuckled darkly. "Wow, I'm so pathetic! My biggest problem is that I have to go to a public school, while for majority of teenagers it's something normal."

"Don't be so hard on yourself." She said calmly. "You have a pretty good reason to be afraid."

Blaine sighed. "Maybe."

Monic stood up from the armchair and pulled Blaine up to his feet. "Go to bed, honey. You should get some rest."

"Okay." Blaine said before he walked up the stairs to his bedroom.

Blaine smoothed his hands over the navy blue cardigan looking at his outfit in the big mirror hanging on the wall. He was already showing, now he was sure, but at least it wasn't noticeable yet and no one would figure out his secret for a while. He examined his reflection in the mirror making sure that he looked presentable and that there was a right amount of gel in his hair.

In his closet was an untouched collections of bright-colored clothes and bow-ties, but as much as Blaine loved these clothes for now he had to settle for something simpler. Navy blue cardigan, and skinny (but not too skinny) black jeans were good enough for now.

Blaine was aware that in a few weeks he would have to start looking for a larger sweaters and pants, but for now he didn't want to think about unavoidable weight gain.

He packed his books into his satchel making sure twice that he had everything and left his room. Blaine walked down the stairs wondering if his parents were already awake. It wasn't that early, but Monic liked to sleep in, and Paul was probably already in his office. As soon as Blaine entered the kitchen his nose rids filled with an amazing smell of scrambled eggs, coffee and crispy bacon.

Blaine closed his eyes and moaned in pleasure. When he reopened them Monic was smiling at him holding a plate full of goodies in her hands. "Good morning, sunshine." She said placing the plate down on the table. Blaine sat down and inhaled the smell.

"Good morning, mom." Blaine said picking up the fork. He tested the dish and smiled. "It's amazing. Thank you, but you know that I'm capable of making breakfast for myself right? You didn't have to get up so early."

Monic waved her hand dismissively pouring herself a cup of coffee. "You know I love cooking. Besides, you can't deny that no one can make better scrambled eggs that me."

"You do have a point." Blaine said taking a greasy slice of bacon between his fingers.

Monic's smile slightly faded as she sat down on a chair opposite Blaine. "Are you still nervous? And before you say anything, don't even try lying to me. You know you're a terrible liar."

Blaine smiled sadly. "Of course I am, but I know that not every school is the same. Maybe these kids can change? Who knows?" Blaine said, not believing a single world that he was saying to his mother.

Blaine could see in his mother's eyes that she didn't believe him either, but she probably knew that there was no way that she could make him feel better, so she just smiled sadly at him and started eating her breakfast. Blaine did the same and after nearly twenty minutes he was ready to go to school.

Monic hugged him tightly and wished good luck. Blaine just nodded his head and let her kiss his forehead. When he was leaving the house, he couldn't shake the thought that something new was beginning for him. He just wasn't sure if it was bad or good.

Blaine parked his car in the parking lot in front of the school and killed the engine. He sat there for a couple of minutes just watching the other students slowly fill the school. Just as he was about to leave the car his cell phone buzzed in his pants pocket. He took it out and smiled as he saw that it was a text from Kurt.

Good luck on your first day in the new school! P.S. It's so boring at Dalton without your constant smile and the strong and (not really) unpleasant smell of your hair gel. – Kurt

Blaine typed a short replay saying thank you and finally got out of the car. He slowly made his way towards the building and pushed the door open. He held it for two girls who didn't even notice his existence and entered the school.

Everything seemed so different from what he knew from Dalton, but at the same time it seemed very familiar. The memories of his last public school started rushing back and he had to lean against the wall to gain back his balance.

The memories of his old friends, Jessie and his old problems – they felt so fresh. "Blaine!" He heard a high-pitched, familiar voice, but he wasn't sure who it belonged to, as his eyes were shut tight. "Blaine? What's wrong? Are you okay?" A gentle hand was placed on his shoulder and Blaine finally blinked his eyes open to find there a pair of dark, terrified ones staring back at him.

Blaine looked around noticing that some people were staring at them. He shook his head to clear his mind and looked back at Rachel. He still felt kind of dizzy and light-headed, but he smiled, trying to show the brunet girl that he was doing fine. "I'm okay." He said unbuttoning his coat.

Rachel raised her eyebrow. "Don't lie to me, Blaine Anderson. Do you need to go to the nurse?"

"No, I'm fine." Blaine repeated. "I just need to get to the principal's office to get my schedule and locker number. Could you show me the way?"

Rachel put her slim hands on her hips. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm positive."

"Okay, then." She said. "Follow me." Blaine did as he was told and walked with her through the corridor. Rachel seemed to forget about Blaine's episode as she smiled brightly and started rambling. "I'm so glad that you're joining New Directions! Our team needs someone like you. I mean, someone who is almost as good as me. Kurt showed me last week some videos and I know that your voice is powerful and deep. Don't get me wrong, I love singing with Finn, but if we want to win with The Warblers next time, we need a strong male voice. Oh, here we are!" She gestured at the door on her right. "I can wait here for you if you want."

"Yeah, thanks." Blaine said as he entered the office. The secretary told him to wait a couple of minutes, because principal Figgins was currently on the phone. When he was finally allowed to come in, he rose from his seat and entered the small office.

The principal seemed nice, but a little ignorant. He didn't even ask (not that Blaine minded) why he was transferring so suddenly. Blaine got his schedule and locker number before he excited the office. He smiled thankfully when he noticed that Rachel was still waiting for him.

She led him to his locker and waited for him to stuff everything into it. She leaned against the wall and started typing on her phone furiously. Blaine was positive that she was texting her best friend. "Is it Kurt?"

She lifted her gaze and locked it on Blaine. "Um, yeah. I promised that I would look out for you."

Blaine sighed in annoyance. He knew that Kurt was so worried about him, because he cared, but it was getting a little ridiculous. "What's in the text?"

"The state you were in when I found you twenty minutes ago." The brown-eyed girl replied turning her gaze back at the phone.

Blaine rubbed his neck groaning. "Really? Just imagine his reaction. I don't want him to be worried about me for the whole day. He needs to focus on classes."

"You should be thankful." Rachel said still typing furiously. "Don't be so hard on him. It just means that he wants you to be safe, that he cares."

Blaine held up his hands in surrender at how defensive her voice was. "Okay, I get it. I'm sorry."

Rachel shoved her phone into her bag and took his schedule from his hands. "What's your first period?" She asked even though she was reading it. "English. Poor you." It scared Blaine how quickly she could go back from defensive to her cherry self. Rachel took his hand, which surprised him a little and led him through the school.

She stopped in front of one of the classrooms and turned her front to Blaine. "I hope to see you at lunch. Find our table. I can't wait to introduce you to the rest of the club. See you later." She cupped his face in her hands and kissed his cheek gently. Then she disappeared leaving Blaine alone.

He slowly entered the classroom looking around in search of an empty seat to take. Most of the students were too busy talking to notice him, but some of them eyed him up and down or whispered something to each other glancing at him. Two girls dressed in cheerleading uniforms in the first row giggled and smiled brightly at him.

Blaine smiled back and made his way to the only empty desk in the very last row. He unpacked his books and waited patiently for teacher to enter the classroom. It took her a couple of minutes, but finally a middle-aged blond woman entered the room with a stack of papers in her hands.

She glanced briefly at Blaine, but didn't say anything.

The class was boring. Blaine's eyelids were heavy and he had to use all of his strength to keep his eyes open. The classes at Dalton were much more advanced which meant that Blaine knew pretty much everything that the woman was teaching.

The rest of the day went much the same. Most of the teachers ignored his existence, only two of them seemed at least a little interested by the new student, but at least Blaine was able to blend into the crowd. When the lunch period came Blaine followed other students hoping that they were headed to the cafeteria. Luckily they were.

Blaine spotted New Directions' table immediately and slowly walked towards the group of really loud students. They are turned their curious eyes to him, immediately shutting up. Only Rachel smiled brightly at him and stood up to greet him. She hugged him tightly and turned to her friends. "This is Blaine Warbler Anderson. Warblers' ex-lead soloist and my future duet partner." She linked her arm through his receiving loud groans and rolls of eyes.

"Hi." Blaine greeted them, not sure what else should he say.

They sat down side by side, and Blaine took out of his bag his turkey sandwich. "What brings you to McKinley, Blaine Warbler?" The blond girl, whom Blaine recognized from Sectionals asked propping her head up on her hands.

Blaine bit his bottom lip and rubbed his neck nervously. He had no idea if he could trust these people. They were Kurt's friends, sure, but Blaine knew from his boyfriend's stories that most of them couldn't keep a secret. "Money." Blaine replied choosing the easiest answer, which was partly true. "My father has some troubles at work, so we need to start saving."

She nodded and smiled softly. Others asked some questions about Dalton throughout the meal and Blaine happily answered every single one of them.

The last classes went smoothly and then Blaine, accompanied by Rachel and Tina entered the choir room when most of the club already was. The choir director, William Shuster greeted him warmly and asked to sing something for an audition. Blaine agreed and sang his heart out in a song Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson.

He received a loud applause and sat on the seat saved for him by Rachel.

Blaine was a little overwhelmed by the dynamics of New Directions. They were crazy and a little weird. There was no harmony nor any sort of organization, but they had their charm. It seemed like Rachel always wanted to be in the spotlight which turned into a massive fight between her and two other girls. Santana and Mercedes if Blaine remembered their names correctly.

When the practice ended, Blaine was glad that the day was finally over. He took his things from his locker and excited the school building. As he walked towards the parking lot he was deep in his thoughts, so at first he didn't notice a slim figure leaning against one of the cars. Only when he passed him, he stopped, slowly turned around and did a double take.

"The best way to find out how your day really was is to take you out for a coffee, or hot chocolate in your case and ask you face to face." Blaine's jaw dropped, but he quickly collected himself and smiled widely at the blue-eyed boy. Kurt held out his arm and Blaine linked his own through his. There was too much people around to do anything more.

"You didn't have to drive all the way from Westerville to Lima just for me." Blaine said as they walked towards Kurt's car. "Oh, what about my car?"

"Don't worry about it." Kurt said opening the passenger door for Blaine. He walked around the car and slid into the driver seat. "I can drive you back here later."

"Well, in that case I have nothing against it." Blaine said sending his mother a short text saying that he would be home a bit later.

Kurt pushed the door open and held it for Blaine. The shorter boy entered the café and immediately spotted three familiar faces. Not bothering to stand in the line he immediately ran to the table in the corner. "What are you doing here, guys?" He asked breathlessly.

"It's nice to see you, too, Blaine." Jeff said in false annoyance. "Yes, we miss you too, Blaine. And yes, we're doing fine. Thanks for asking."

"I'll give you a moment." Kurt said from behind. "Hot cocoa, honey?"

"And maybe a slice of chocolate cake." Blaine said receiving a roll of eyes from Nick and Wes. "What? I'm going to get fat anyway. I can eat whatever I want."

"Just don't come crying to us later." Wes said, but a wide smile was formed on his lips. He rarely let himself show so many emotions at once . It was a nice thing to see. The Asian boy rose from his seat and wrapped his best friend into a tight hug.

When Wes finally let him go, Jeff and Nick hugged him as well, and then they all sat down at the table for four. "On a scale from one to ten how horrible is McKinley?" Jeff asked watching Blaine curiously with his big hazel eyes.

"It's not actually that bad, guys." Blaine said honestly. Both Jeff and Nick raised their eyebrows questioningly at him. "I'm telling the true. Yeah, the teachers mostly care about their salary instead of students but I haven't been slushied or shoved into a locker yet."

"Yet." Wes said taking a sip of his coffee. "What about New Directions then? What are they like?"

"You're just asking, because you want to know their tactic. No way. I'm not betraying them on my first day." Wes chuckled. "What? Is it bad that I'm loyal?"

In that moment Kurt joined them holding a tray with two cups of coffee and a deliciously-looking slice of cake on the plate. He set the plate and one of the cups in front of Blaine and took a seat next to him. "Here you go." He said. "And now tell me about your day."

"It was okay." Blaine said taking a bite of his cake. It was delicious indeed. "A lot of different from Dalton, but mostly okay. At least for now."

"No problems with Karofsky or one of the other jocks?" Blaine shook his head. "Good." He paused for a moment. "Rachel texted me earlier and mentioned something about a panic attack, What was that about?"

Blaine sighed. "It was not a panic attack."

"Then what was it?" Kurt asked seriously. "Is it something serious? Is something wrong with the baby? Do you need to go to the doctor?"

"No!" Blaine shouted. Kurt immediately closed his mouth and looked down at his hands. As soon as Blaine realized what he had done, he regretted yelling at Kurt. "I-I am sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you." He slowly took Kurt's hand and started massaging it with his thumb. "I know you're just looking out for me, but you have to trust me that I know when something is wrong with me."

"It's okay." Kurt said looking up at him. "I understand. I just really care about you. And I really don't want you to get hurt."

"I know." Blaine said smiling softly. "I care about you too."

"Aww." Cooed Jeff. "They are so cute."

"Shut up." Blaine said playfully shoving his shoulder.

"Ouch!" Jeff wailed massaging his shoulder. "It hurts!"

Blaine just rolled his eyes and returned to eating his cake. They talked about their schools, homework, books and basically everything until Jeff, Nick, Wes and Kurt had to come back to Dalton before their curfew. As Blaine watched Nick, Jeff and Wes leave the coffee shop his wide smile faded and he couldn't stop feeling like he was again loosing something really important.

Namely his friends, or rather the possibility of spending much time with them…and Kurt.

Kurt stopped the car and immediately attracted Blaine's lips with his. Blaine put his arms on Kurt's shoulders letting them slide down the the blue-eyed boy's torso. The kiss was hot, wet and passionate. Kurt cupped Blaine's face with his hands and forced his tongue into the younger's boy mouth. It was really nice, but Blaine had a feeling that they were moving a little too fast. He broke the kiss and rested his forehead against Kurt's. They both breathed heavily smiling like fools.

"Was it…too much?" Kurt asked breathlessly.

"It wasn't." Blaine said. "Just a little too fast."

"Sorry." Kurt breathed out. "I just couldn't stop myself. I'm not usually like that."

"Don't be sorry." Blaine said as they moved away. He glanced at the empty parking lot and sighed. "I have to go."

"I know."

Blaine leaned forward and pressed his lips gently to Kurt's for a short moment. "See you soon." He said when they broke apart.

"Very soon." Kurt said smiling. He was so adorable like that. His lips were swollen and cherry-red and his hair was messy.

Blaine excited the car and waved to Kurt who waved back and slowly drove away. He got into his car and began his long journey home.

Blaine entered the house and pulled off his coat and shoes. Monic immediately pulled him into a tight hug and asked about his day. Blaine told her everything and they sat down on the sofa in the living room to watch a movie together since Blaine didn't have any homework to do.

In the middle of the movie Monic suddenly started speaking. "Blaine, there is something that we need to talk about." Blaine turned his head towards his mother and nodded at her to continue. "We need to start looking for an adoption agency."

Blaine's jaw dropped open. He had considered giving his baby up for adoption at some point, but now he was almost sure that he was going to keep it. The thought of being a father wasn't scary for him anymore. It was kind of exciting, actually.

"What if I don't know what to do yet?" Blaine asked avoiding his mother's gaze.

Monic took Blaine's hand into hers and started speaking softly. "Honey, me and your father, we've been thinking a lot about it lately and we both think that you're too young to do this all alone. You're such a good student." She brushed away some curls from his forehead and rubbed gently his cheek. "You can do whatever you want in your life and we don't want anything to hold you back."

"So the decision is already made. Am I correct?" Blaine asked coldly dropping his mother's hand. "You're just like him!" They both knew that he was referring to his ex-boyfriend.

"Blaine, it's not like that. We just want you to have a good future."

"No." Blaine said firmly. "It's not true. You just think that I am not able to raise a baby on my own. Guess what? I'm not on my own. I have friends, I have Kurt. I don't know if our relationship is strong enough to last, but for now I have him. I don't need you to make my decisions for me!" He stood up and stormed out of the room.

Blaine entered his bedroom and collapsed on his bed as the tears started filling his eyes. He curled into a fetal position and wrapped his arms around his stomach hoping that he would be able to keep the little, innocent life growing inside of him.
